*the small red shards themselves are nothing special. They are little more than crystalized blood shards that contain very small fragmented amounts of Kalysto’s life energy. He was making soul-shard reagents for his various spells before he was interrupted*
Desiree: *blinks as she senses parts of Kalysto’s soul in the shards. She then gathers up the various bits before charging out of the room to find him. Upon locating him again, she tries to cast a spell to make him dizzy* Stop!
Kalysto: You again? *continues running down his path, at least until he is dizzied. This causes him to immediately lose his balance and he trips over his own feet, crashing onto the ground a few seconds later*
Desiree: Yes, me. *she rushes over to him then kneels down in front of him* Now, tell me why you are putting parts of your own soul into these things. *she thrusts the shards into his face* If you don’t, I will make it so that you can never stand straight again. *she narrows her eyes*
Kalysto: *reaches out for the shards, then tries to crush them in his palm* You’re just like all the rest. Threats, torture. I’m stronger than that, stupid human. If you think I’m going to fall like all the others, you’re sadly mistaken. I am a proud member of my race, and I bow to nothing, nobody. Do you understand that? *moves to sit up, annoyed. He pins his ears back as far as they will go and he looks around for a means of escape*
Desiree: *hisses* I’m trying to be nice. But you keep on running away. Just let me help you. I want to be your friend. *She shakes her head* Now, tell me why you are destroying your own soul! That can’t possibly be good for you.
Kalysto: Destroying…. *blinks* What? You’re an idiot. *narrows his eyes and moves to his feet* Why should I tell you anything? You’re a damn snoop and you’re not smart, but you’re getting to a point where soon you’ll be knowing too much. And then I’m going to have to snap your neck. *waves a hand* I don’t really want to do that.
Desiree: Ooooh… *Stomps her foot on the ground in frustration* I don’t give a damn whether you think I know too much or not. I do care about you, whether you like it or not. Haven’t you noticed that I am trying to provide help to you? Not that you are appreciating a second of it. *She sticks her tongue out at him* Now, tell me!
Kalysto: *rolls his eyes at her* Fine…. *glances off to the side* Some would say I sold my soul to the devil. But that’s bullshit. People loathe and despise what I do, which is probably all well and good for them, but… *shrugs* I toy in evil magics which should not be toyed with. Or so they say… there’s no such thing as good or evil – it’s all a matter of perspective. And the only ones who claim what I do is evil… they are weak-minded fools who can’t handle it. *crunches the crystals in his hand, transfiguring them into a small purple orb* It has nothing to do with destroying my soul. It’s to do with preservation. *shrugs* You saw me get shot in the head, right? And I lived after it? This is why. *drops the orb into her hand*
Desiree: Well, duh good and evil are relative. Father tried to destroy the world, and he isn’t evil. *she shakes her head* You’re not telling me anything new there. *she then blinks* “Evil magics that should not be toyed with”? What does that mean? *she then focuses on the orb* Umm.. ok. You know that you didn’t actually explain anything in all of that, right?
Kalysto: That’s about as much of an explanation you’re going to get. What more do you want from me? You want to know what I do? You want to know who Bael is? *shakes his head and folds his arms* What do you want, for me to bear my soul out for you? *suddenly seems amused* You already have a piece of it there.
Desiree: Bael? Never heard of a Bael. *she shrugs at him and glances at the orb again. She then looks back toward where she left Cancer* My sister and I were hoping that you’d show us some of your magic though. You clearly do a different type than what mother does.. Then again, mother doesn’t really teach anyone what she does.. at all.. ever..
Kalysto: *blinks* You want to learn some? I…. *shakes his head* You have to know where the path will go before you start. I’m not teaching you anything if you can’t handle it. You will learn more, and more, and eventually it will lead to your own damnation.
Desiree: *Shrugs* Some can say that I was damned the moment that I was born since I have Jenova cells in me. They would say that my fate is to become her puppet, just like my father was. *she glances past Kalysto* ~Cancer, where are you?~
Kalysto: You have no idea about what I am talking about. *shakes his head and tries to push her away once more, narrowing his eyes* You have enough information now. That’s all you need to know. Leave me alone now…
Cancer: *”I’m still here. Do you need help?”*
Desiree: Hrmph. No, I want to learn stuff. *she glares at him* You’re the one who knows how to do that stuff. Come on, I’ve been nothing but friendly with you from the beginning. You could try to return the favor! ~If you can help me convince him to stop being a prick, I could use it..~
Kalysto: I’m not going to teach you anything… *shakes his head* I told you before. You’re weak and you don’t know how to do anything. Therefore when it comes to the higher ranked spells, they will consume you. You can’t handle it.
Desiree: *snorts and crosses her arms* That’s why people start with the lesser spells then move upward. *she storms to stand up in front of Kalysto. She then tries to block his way* I’m not going to take no for an answer!
Kalysto: No, you don’t get it. If I teach you the lesser spells, you work your way up. And then you keep ascending and you cannot handle the higher ones. That is why many people faulter, give my kind a bad name, or simply turn and lose their mind. I’m saying no – take it and leave me alone to conduct my own work.
Desiree: I am not weak. You think I’m dumb and stupid, but I’m not. *she glances back at Cancer. She then calls out* Help me keep him from running off. Wrap him up as only you can, Sister. *she then glares back at Kalysto* I’ve spoken to demons for most of my life. I know what they are like. I can handle them.
Kalysto: Yeah, that’s what they all say when they first enter the den. All bright and happy, cheerful. Oh look at me, I want to be like that guy, he has a little demon pet and he burns things with his hands! *shakes his head* Nobody ever really wants to do what I do. Nobody willingly chooses it in the end. And if you think you can handle it right from the word go, then you’re an arrogant overconfident fool. And I’m really not going to teach you now. No, it will lead to your ruination.
Desiree: Yea, well, if you are so great, why haven’t you noticed what’s special about my family other than the fact that we’re hybrids? Haven’t you noticed that my mother is the avatar for some destroying spirit that is meant to end all life on planets? *she shakes her head* I come from a very capable lineage.. *she frowns at Cancer* Sister.. help?
Cancer: *nods her head as she approaches and moves in on the Blood Elf, quickly melting her form into black-ooze. She melts into the floor and then rises up, snaring herself around Kalysto’s legs, also rising up to attempt to smother him with the rest of her*
Kalysto: I’m saying no, accept it. And… *blinks* What the…? *tries to set Cancer on fire, panicking as his face is covered by the black ooze. He quickly collapses off his feet and begins to struggle*
Desiree: *Groans and covers her face with the palm of her right hand* Cancer.. You don’t need to choke him. I just meant wrap your arms about his chest or something. Let the guy breathe..
Cancer: *”Fine.”* *slides off him again, then reforms herself in the spot she was standing in, not seeming terribly bothered by what she has just done* There you go. Get up now.
Kalysto: *stays down on the ground initially, coughing slightly. He soon moves to sit up and glares at Desiree and Cancer* Is that how you treat everyone? Bombard them with annoyance, and then try to kill them when they don’t do what you want?
