Desiree: That doesn’t look like gin- *she then blinks as the concoction begins to glow. So, she moves closer to the put in order to investigate it* Umm.. I’ve never seen food glow.. What did you do to it?
Kalysto: *pulls a blue flowery leaf out of the pouch and gives it to her* Manathistle. It tastes positively vile on it’s own but if you brew it with more favourable ingredients such as honey, it makes a very soothing tea which quietens one’s… impulses. It is also very gentle and mild on the stomach when one is unwell. I have been growing this, ginger-root and mint. Would you like some when it has finished brewing?
Desiree: *tilts her head as she looks at the leaf. She then shrugs and looks into Kalysto’s eyes* Hm? Nah, you can have it all. I can’t say that I’ve ever been a tea drinker… *She glances at his pot* That’s the strangest way to make tea though..
Kalysto: What’s so weird about it? You have no kettle and no perculaotor. How else are you supposed to brew the ingredients and make tea? *frowns* You give me a better way, or one that is more suited to your culture, and I will do it.
Desiree: Umm… why don’t you use this thing? *she walks over to the cofee maker that Zach regularly uses* I’m pretty certain it makes hot beverages. I’ve seen my brother burn his mouth with the liquid that he makes quite often. *She chuckles at the thought then looks at Kalysto* I would think that this machine would be easier than… *she looks at his kettle* That..
Kalysto: I don’t want to burn my mouth on whatever it is that I’m brewing. I’m more interested in the strong flavors above anything else. *eyes off the coffee maker* But fine, if that is more convenient, I will use that next time. *continues to stir the contents of the pot, then turns the heat down and places the lid on*
Desiree: Eh… that’s not quite what I meant. I just meant that it makes hot beverages. *She shrugs then moves to sit on the table* So… you are going to come with me to talk to my mother, right? I’d really hate it if you continue to be stubborn on the issue..
Kalysto: *sharply* I said yes. Stop harassing me about something I already answered. Continue to bother me about it and my answer will revert back to a no. *moves to sit at the table, resting his head in his hands, sighing in aggrivation*
Desiree: *Sighs at him then nods* Ok, I trust you. *she tilts her head as she notices his hair. She then slowly moves closer to him and begins to slip her fingers through the strands of his hair* Ummm… I would offer to help you cut your hair.. but i have no idea how to cut that style..
Kalysto: *glances up at her and glares slightly* Don’t touch my hair. There’s nothing wrong with it.
Desiree: Oooh… Settle down, Kalysto. I’m not about to harm anything. *she brings her left hand in front of his face* See, I don’t even have anything to cut it with. *she continues to gently brush her fingers through his hair* Still, at the moment.. your hair looks rather disheveled.
Kalysto: *jerks his head down, nearly banging his chin on the table* I said don’t touch my hair. I won’t tell you a third time – I’m warning you. Next time it will be conflageration in your face. *growls and slides out of the chair, running his hands through it to fix it up*
Desiree: *Groans at Kalysto as he pulls his head away. Sighing, she shakes her head* You really need to learn how to trust people.. Listen, I wasn’t messing up your hair. There’s no reason for you to act like that. If anything, I was helping neaten it up some.
Kalysto: *very openly glares at her* If somebody says no to you, how about actually listening to it? You either don’t understand, you don’t respect me, or you don’t care. I don’t know which it is, but it really has to stop.It’s ridiculous.
Desiree: *groans at him* But… you’re making an issue out of non-issues.. You’re the one being ridiculous. *she crosses her arms* I said I wasn’t going to mess up your hair. You just don’t know how to trust people. *she sticks her tongue out at him*
Kalysto: Yeah – you’re right. I don’t. *visibly stiffens his posture* But the fact of it or the why doesn’t matter to you. So neither is worth explaining. Just don’t touch me and respect what I am saying and we’ll get along fine. Assuming you can even do those two basic things…
Desiree: *rolls her eyes then sighs* You know.. after what we did last night, I wouldn’t think that you’d have any more problems with my touches… *she shrugs then sits down in a chair* Fine..
Kalysto: You spend one night with me and you think you have an open invitation to everything? *rolls his eyes* Nice try, but life doesn’t work like that. You can be with somebody for years, relationship-wise, friendship, whatever your choice is… and they can still never open an ounce to you. *scowls* I knew somebody like that. He was a brick wall, all the time. It got tiring so I abandoned him.
Desiree: Hmrph, just because one person was that way to you doesn’t give you the right to treat everyone else that way. *she sighs and shrugs* Whatever. You still need to learn how to actually trust people. I should think that you’d figure out by now that I’m not going to hurt you.
Kalysto: Whatever. *yawns slightly* I’ll start trusting people when they give me a reason to do so. You already said you would hurt me – that’s pretty convincing right there if I do say so myself. And it was about my ears, no less. How much of a low blow do you want to deal?
Desiree: What? *she blinks then shakes her head* No, that’s not what I meant at all! *she crosses her arms* I’m not about to pull your ears. Despite the fact that you’re a dick, you don’t deserve to feel real pain. *she narrows her eyes* But if you try to set your demons to attack me again like you did this morning, I won’t just sit there and take it. You did start it then.
Kalysto: I didn’t tell my demon to attack you – I told him to trip you up. Once you attacked me, he actually started biting you. There’s a huge difference you know. Shoving me into a wall hard enough to nearly knock me out of my senses probably counts as something I’d react to if I were the minion of a powerful war lord. *folds his arms. He turns his attention back to the pot and lifts the lid off it, which causes the aromatic scent to fill the air again* It’s ready. Do you want some as it is, or do you want to melt some honey into it?
Desiree: You were threatening me the entire time. You kept on telling me that you were giong to have him attack. *she snorts* And I didn’t mean to push you that hard… I just was retaliating and lost control for half a second. *she glares at him* As if you never have put in too much effort into something by accident.
Kalysto: You pushed me hard enough that you could have knocked me out, or given me a concussion. *narrows his eyes as he stirs the pot with a ladel, then takes two cup and two saucers out of the cupboards nearby* Do you want some or not? *sets a strainer over the cups and begins to carefully ladel portions of the piping hot liquid into the cups*
Desiree: *grumbles in irritation to herself for a moment. However, she soon sighs and looks up at Kalysto* Look, I’m sorry. Ok? I didn’t mean to try to hurt you at all. *She glares toward the wall* I’m not as good with my psychic powers as Father is, and even he sometimes overdoes it… *she then glances at the pot and frowns* Ummm… I think I’ll pass this time..
