Kalysto: Let it attack me – that’s the part you’re not getting. Make a mutual agreement, let it think it has the upper hand, and then suppress the hell out of it once it’s yours. *sighs in frustration and begins to move away from her* I’m going back inside… I’ve had enough of this…
Desiree: *crosses her arms and shakes her head* Kalysto, your demon can’t be that far away. I saw what my mother did to it. She was draining its energy as well as destroying its body. *she narrows her eyes* Wouldn’t you say that now is the perfect time to get it back if you want to find it, hm? *hse shakes her head* I’ll help you find it. And as long as it doesn’t kill you, I won’t interfere.
Kalysto: I don’t know if you noticed, but she killed it’s physical form. The one it took when you bound it to this world. It’s going to be damn near impossible to find now, let alone catch and talk to. That is something I don’t particularly feel like doing right now…
Desiree: *Groans, quite frustrated by now* And you keep on blaming me for your not getting that demon. *she rolls her eyes* If it is hard to find something, you put out bait and make the object of your desires come to you. *she leans in closer to Kalysto* Of course, you can always go back to the base, but don’t you dare blame me for your inability to find and get that demon that you want so badly back. *she still wonders what is so important about the demon*
Kalysto: I nearly had it the first time. You got angry and beat it up. I had its attention the second time and you came out and beat it up. What part are you not understanding? How can you NOT be responsible for fucking it up on both occaisons? You keep interferring. Period.
Desiree: *Growls at Kalysto* It sounded like you got ambushed earlier on! Maybe if you had told me that you were going to try to go after it, I might have not paniced when you went silent mid-sentence! *She snorts at him* It sounds more like you want to blame me for your own failures.
Kalysto: What? Why do I need to tell you anything? What are you, my mother? Sheesh. It’s not your job to keep tabs on me at every interval of the day.
Desiree: No, that is not the case at all. *She growls and slams a fist into a tree, not far away from Kalysto. She then glares into his eyes* You scared me back there. I thought you were going to.. I don’t know, but I was scared for your safety. *she sends him a distinct impression of how she felt when he went silent*
Kalysto: *makes a tired sigh at her* You’ve developed an attachment. To me. Knowing damn well what I am and what I do. *shakes his head* That can be even more dangerous and can have more dire consequences than the magic itself. *lowers his head and rubs his temples, looking troubled* Stupid.
Desiree: Hmph, my life is dangerous whether or not I have an attatchment to you. I’ve told you several times that I am your friend and that I care about you. *she crosses her arms* It’s not my fault that you never listened to me.
Kalysto: You should start listening to me. When I say stop, please, for the hell of it, why not actually try to do it? *shakes his head* I’m going to chase the demon again, and you’re not going to fuck it up for me a third time.
Desiree: *Growls at him* Like I said, if I had known that you were going to knock yourself out, I probably wouldn’t have tried to save your ass. *she snorts* Anyway, it was my mother that beat up that demon, not me… *she narrows her eyes in thought* I think I know something that would get the attention of your demon.
Kalysto: I didn’t want to get knocked out. But Bael did it, because it’s easier to bind our souls together without my resistance. *shakes his head* I’d like to see you even manage to attract any demon’s attention, let alone one like him. He’s not like your average run-of-the-mill minion. *takes a soul shard out of his pocket on the ground before raising his hands into the air to summon his Felhunter. Once he has binded it to the tangible world, he picks it up and holds it in his arms, ignoring the fact that it immediately tries to lick his face* It’s not interested in me right now. It was earlier – not any more. It’s not likely to be for some time either – I wouldn’t come back here if I was going to be slaughtered again.
Desiree: *rolls her eyes at Kalysto’s statements* I bet you… I don’t know.. We don’t use currency.. But I bet you I’ll definitely get it’s attention. Now, stay put. I’ll be back shortly. *She then dashes away. As she leaves, she begins tracking down an energy that she’s only seen and felt a few times before, the black materia. Soon enough, she rushes in the base and enters the training room. After searching a bit for Sephy’s sword, she finds it on the wall. She then struggles to get it open* Come on.. *she grunts and jumps back slightly as the sword’s hilt finally opens up. Once she has access to the materia inside, she picks out the black orb. She then grins and rushes back to where she left Kalysto. By the time she returns, an hour has passed by. However, she skids to a stop in front of Kalysto* Have it… *she pants, for she’s a bit out of breath*
Kalysto: *moves back to his plantation patch within the hour. By the time Desiree returns, he is busy feeding Droozun with pieces of bloodthistle and mana-thistle, partially to test the effectiveness of the plants, and also to treat his Felhunter* Oh, hi. I thought you weren’t coming back. *takes a seat under one of the nearby trees* What? *stares at the black orb, then reaches out to take it. He stares into the core of it before slowly turning it over* This looks like something I’d steal… why would I give it to Bael?
Desiree: *Growls as Kalysto takes takes the black materia. She then quickly reaches in to take the orb back, being very possessive over it* This is my father’s legacy. This is the ultimate dark magic of this planet. *pauses for a moment. She then sends an impression of her father’s action during hte meteor crisis to Kaysto* And no, I’m not going to give it to the demon either. We’re just going to lure him here with it.
Kalysto: *raises an eyebrow at Desiree, then shakes his head* So you don’t want me to have it? What do you think I’m going to do with it anyway? *narrows his eyes, suddenly switching his mood. He acts like he doesn’t want it any more*
Desiree: I don’t care if you want it or not. It rightfully belongs to my father. I’m only borrowing it. *she narrows her eyes* That’s all. And you’ll see that I will get your demon to come to us! *she then moves a bit away from Kalysto* This should be a good enough spot… *She looks about. She then begins trying to make the black materia emit just enough of its energy such that, hopefully, she’ll garner the attention of Bael*
Kalysto: *steps back from Desiree and folds his arms* How do you know it’s going to attract just him and not the other 40 million other demons that can feel that kind of power emanating from that tiny little thing?
Desiree: *Glares at Kalysto for a moment* I bet it will attract a few others. *she shrugs* However, if he’s one who gets attracted, then I would say it did its job. Wouldn’t you? *She continues pouring small bits of energy into the materia, just enough to activate its power without activating any spell*
Kalysto: So you think just throwing it out like a lure will, by chance, attract the one you want? Don’t be absurd! *stares at the materia, seeming to be attracted to it himself. He reaches out towards it carefully, wanting to take it from Desiree without force*
Droozun: *perks his felstalkers up at the energy and begins to happily squeak, as if responding to something positive*
Desiree: *frowns as she notices Kalysto coming near. She then narrows her eyes at him* Kalysto, I already told you that this belongs to my father. Please, just leave it be. I am only borrowing it. *she takes a short step away from him*
Kalysto: Please, let me hold it. Maybe not now, but later. I promise I won’t steal it from you. Or abuse it’s power. It’s just… its like the others, but it’s not. So much power concentrated into one tiny stone…. I want to know how it works. I want to replicate one for my own. I’ve made plenty of other stones before, but… *stares at the Black Materia, placing his hands behind his back as if indicating he doesn’t want to take it from her. He does however, move much closer and tries to watch the colour-storm swirling inside*
Desiree: This one is unique, just like the white one, Kalysto. You can’t make another one no matter how much you try. *She shakes her head and frowns at him* And it’s not mine to give you. I’ve said this several times, it belongs to my father. He’s the one who insured that it would be created and claimed it. It is rightfully his. *she shakes her head and scans the area, hoping to find Bael near by*
*the energies haven’t attracted Bael specifically. It has, however, attracted the attention of another Felhunter which drives Droozun insane. The demon continues it’s loud squeaking noise and tries to lash out at the air with its stalkers*
Kalysto: You’re stabbing at the dark… *sighs* Talk to him, I don’t know. Say you have something to give him. He’s not a simple-minded idiot like a lot of demons.
