Desiree: *tosses the bandages that she finds to a table behind her. She then hums to herself before shaking her head* No.. Don’t bother with that. I don’t know if you heard it earlier, but my mother is sick. Her mind is deteriorating at the moment. *she shrugs* It’s best to leave her be for the time being. *she then nods as Zach enters the room* Hello, brother. *she nods toward Kalysto* Ignore.. umm.. whatever his name is. *She points to the troll* Kalysto is the one who father hurt.
Zulmire: *chuckles softly* Yeh. You best ignorin’ me.
Zach: *moves over to the table to look over the one on there* The least you could do is stitch that up. Um… *glances around the room* Has it been bleeding much? How far in did the sword go? *quickly walks away to find some surgical gloves* I can’t tell how much damage was made without probing, and that might not even be smart to do.
Kalysto: *squeezes his eyes shut in pain and makes a weak annoyed sound. His arm begins to move as he feels the surface underneath him, setting his palm firmly on the table so he can begin trying to push himself up*
Desiree: Umm.. the sword went all of the way through? *she shrugs* I know that father only jabbed it into his stomach once, and he didn’t twist. He seemed to get better when I used a cure materia, too. So, it can’t be that bad. *she frowns as she notices that Kalysto has woken up. So, she moves over to his side and tries to grip onto his shoulders* Lay down.
Kalysto: *immediately puts up resistance against her and opens his eyes to glower at her, the light in them quite dull right now* Get… off me… *moves his other arm out, then tries to push himself to sit up*
Zach: *sighs* Still won’t be able to tell if he has internal damage, though… *places a pair of gloves on, then stops as he turns around* You might want to knock him out if we’re going to perform surgery on him.
Zulmire: *watches Kalysto, but remains in his corner*
Desiree: Kalysto, settle down. We’re not going to hurt you. *she shakes her head at him. Then, she focuses her attention on Zach* Knock him out? I guess I can do that with ease. Her pupils retract a bit as the slits narrow. She then focuses on Kalysto before trying to enter his mind and use her psychic powers to lull him into a passive state*
Kalysto: *retaliates against her mind-lulling, and telepathically replies with annoyance in his words* *”You can’t silence me…”* *despite his reply, he becomes quiet and still moments later and resumes his semi-comatose resting state*
Zach: Uh, I meant with anasthetic, but that works too. *moves over Kalysto and pulls the bandages off his torso area, lightly poking at the injury site. He then probes a finger into it and begins to feel around, which causes it to begin bleeding all over again*
Desiree: *sighs at Kalysto’s words* ~I’m just trying to not hurt you…~ *once he settles down once more, she reaches over to gently pat the top of his head. She then cringes as she sees what Zach is doing* Gross! *she sticks her tongue out in disgust before turning her back on Zach*
Zach: *mumbles* Well if you want to find out if something is punctured… *hums in thought as he continues to probe. Soon enough he pokes two fingers inside of the stab wound and probes around again before removing his fingers altogether* He needs surgery… no simple patch job will fix it.
Desiree: *Groans at what Zach is saying* There’s no damn way you are good enough to do any surgery on anyone, Zach. *she shakes her head then grumbles* Is there any other way to take care of it? *she then looks over at Zulmire* Before you think it, we aren’t going to kill him.
Zach: If you can think of a way to fix perforation of the stomach without surgery, you tell me. If you don’t do something, he’s going to bleed into his own torso cavity and die. Soon. I’m talking within several hours. Maybe a day at most.
Zulmire: You’re gonna have to try a lot harder than ‘dat if you t’ink for one second ‘dat I’m worried, girleh. *rises to his feet* He’s a elf. Just sew him up and let him rest it out for a couple of days. ‘Da elves have almost as good regeneration capabilites as ‘da trolls.
Zach: *blinks* What the fuck is he saying? Seriously.. its like, words, but I can’t understand them.
Desiree: *shrugs at Zach’s question* It’s some sort of accent. I can mostly understand him. He’s saying that the elf here can just sleep it off.. *she frowns at him* But we should probably try to heal him up with conventional means.. *she sighs* Ok, Zach, go ahead and try. Though if you mess things up, I’ll personally bash in your skull.
Zach: Relax, I don’t want my skull bashed in…. *sighs But you want me to perform surgery? *looks quite unhappy at the thought, then glances around the room* This place isn’t even appropriate…. it needs to be sterile. And… *shakes his head* I don’t think I can do it. You’re going to need to take him to a hospital.
Zulmire: *mutters* Stupid humans… *stands over Zach and speaks slowly and louder* Sew ‘da pixie up. He can take it.
Desiree: *grumbles to herself. She then looks over at Zulmire* Fine, do what he says. However, first… *she moves to a cabinet and pulls out a fully mastered full cure materia that she has hidden there. She then moves back over to Kalysto and begins casting the spells from the materia on him*
Zach: *looks even more unhappy* Alright… *crouches down to take some suture wire and a needle out of the drawers below the table* But if he dies, it’s not on my head. Because I suggested the surgery part and you didn’t want me to do it… *quickly swabs and sanitizes the stab wound area, then begins to sew it up carefully, nearly squinting as he tries to properly see what he’s doing*
Desiree: Yea, yea. I know what you suggested… *she frowns at Zulmire* Are you fully certain that you know what you’re talking about? How do I even know if your suggestions are right? For that matter… what the fuck is your name??
Zulmire: Obviously you never be hearin’ of the elf and ‘deir regenerative traits. O’ course I be right – I’m his freakin’ caretaker. If I was wrong, or worried, don’t you think I’d be-a panickin’ jus’ a bit more, mon? *crouches down again, shaking his head* Be callin’ me Zulmire. I also happen to be a Shaman, and ‘dere almost ain’t nobody who can heal what’s ailin you quite like me. I be knowin’ what I talk about. You can trust me on ‘dis one, girleh. Da pixie will be fine. ‘Cept he’ll probably be grumpier ‘den usual.
Desiree: You’re a.. shaman? *reaches back to scratch her scalp. She then shrugs* Never heard of that. Don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. However, if you can heal anything… maybe we should show you my mother.. *she glances at Zach* You’ve seen more of her than I have. What do you think?
Dimitri: *quietly walks into the room. He then looks over at Zach before softly speaking* Can this come off yet? *he points to his wing splint*
Zulmire: Heh… you don’t know what a shaman is? *chuckles* Some peoples be afraid of ‘dem. Shamans can drive out evil spirits an heal the soul. Some people is afraid of ‘dem because ‘dey believe dat we can haunt somebody with evil spirits, or curse them. But ‘dat really be more along ‘de lines of Kalysto’s magic, not mine. Or somebody who be heavily into the voodoo. No, no, not me. I be a respectful shaman. I be readin’ the weather, the earth around me, an’ respectin’ the elements. I let ‘dem be my guide an’ my caretaker. An’ in turn ‘dey lemme borrow their great power. Make some sense yet?
Zach: Yeah yeah, Dimitri. Gimmie a second, OK?*finishes suturing the wound on Kalysto’s torso* Okay, it’s done. *dips some cotton wool in iodine and swabs the skin with it before beginning to dress the wound with gauze and tape* Don’t change the dressing until three days from now. Make sure he doesn’t move either, otherwise he’ll probably pop the stitches and it will be even messier to clean up next time. *sighs* Okay, that’s about all I can do. *crouches down to pick Dimitri up, carrying him across the room to look at his wing* Does it hurt any more? Can I move it without you crying?
Desiree: *openly stares at Zulmire as he gives out his description of a Shaman. She then frowns once more as he wraps up* Not really… Thought I get the feeling that you like to ramble. It was something that had to do with spirits, vodoo, whatever that is, and weather… Yep… Not a single damn clue what all of that meant. *She then turns her head to look at Dimitri then frowns* He still has that thing on? Damn.
Dimitri: *blinks and watches as Zach finishes up with Kalysto. Once hs’e picked up, he grips onto Zach int urn then shakes his head* No hurt… Itches and stiff. That’s it. *he then tilts his head to look over at Zulmire* You new.
Zulmire: I… *stops* I was informin’ you, ‘dat’s all. *moves over to Kalysto* So what do we do with ‘im now? *glances down at Dimitri, then waves to him* Interestin’….
Zach: *sets Dimitri down on the table opposite* So it doesn’t hurt when I do this? *gently tries to unfurl the wing, being very careful and slow incase such movement would cause pain*
Desiree: Well, we take him back to his room to rest, if Zach is done.. *She shrugs* Wait for doctor’s orders. *so, she returns to using the full cure materia on Kalysto. She then stops and frownsa Zulmire’s statement concerning her brother* Interesting? *She deeply frowns* You better not be planning on calling my brother a demon spawn and attacking him. I’ll personally beat you up if you do that!
Dimitri: *releases a faint whimper as his wing is moved* Muscles all stiff, Zach! No wanna move wing! Wanna get out of thing. It stuffy, itcy, and no like it!
Zach: *calmly begins to remove the bindings from Dimitri’s wing, unscrewing the brace. Once it is gone, he tries to gently move the wing* How’s that?
Zulmire: Demon spawn? You mean ‘dat tichy little human? Hell no. *moves to stand at his full height, then carefully picks up Kalysto* Lead ‘da way. I got ‘dis one.
DImitri: *whines once more as his wing is moved* Said it no wanna move! It hurts ta move like that. *he shakes his head* Stiff all over…
Desiree: Good, because he’s not a demon spawn. *grumbles about stupid priests. She then turns around* Ok, follow me. *with that, she begins to lead Zulmire back to Kalysto’s room* He’ll probably wake up in your arms. My psychic influence wasn’t that strong.
Zulmire: Hope he doesn’t. He’ll start tryin’ to shove me an’ actin’ all tough if ‘dat happens. *carries Kalysto as he follows Desiree back to the elf’s room, then sets him down on the bed* We probably have to be tyin’ him down soon enough. Heh. Always was stubborn. Damn pixie.
Zach: Aww. Move it a little each day. Stretch it out, ease it out as far as it’ll go, then fold it up again. Slowly. Do that like, I dunno, five times every few hours. It will be stiff and sore at first, but it will get better, trust me. How about we go get something nice to eat? You’ve been a really good patient.
Desiree: *sits at the edge of Kalysto’s bed so that she can watch over him with ease. She then frowns as she considers Zulmire’s suggestion* Perhaps… I think we should try letting him stay still first. *she then glances at Kalysto’s ear* Damn! I forgot! ~Zach! I forgot to have you check on the elf’s ear!~
Dimitri: *nods at Zach’s words* Ok, I do that. *he then slides off the table* Wanna move wing with ease again.. No wanna climb trees eva again though. *he shakes his head* Hmm.. Me no hungry right now. Maybe lata?
