Desiree: *closes her eyes and remains asleep for the rest of the night. However, by the time that the sun is about to rise in the sky outside, she wakes up again. Then, she begins to cry since she is dirtied in the diaper and also hungry*
Sephiroth: *tiredly groans at the unwelcome disruption and sits up, sighing. He picks Desiree up, setting her down on the floor so he can change her diaper. After that is done, he washes his hands off and carries her up the stairs, following Jenna’s energy signal so he can hand the infant over to her. He lightly nudges her shoulder, hoping Desiree’s whining would help wake her up* Hey.
Jenna: *grumbles and tries to curl up even tighter into the chair that she’s currently sleeping in* Go away… *doesn’t seem overly bothered by the crying at the moment, but she’s quite tired as well*
Sephiroth: *grunts at her, nudging her shoulder again* I’ve been woken up more times than I can count now. Take some of the responsibility. *yawns* Besides…. she needs feeding. I am incapable of such…
Jenna: *tiredly grumbles* There’s formula now, you can’t use that excuse any more… *Yawns and slowly opens her eyes. She then sighs and takes Desiree. Soon enough,s he exposes her right breast so the girl can feed*
Sephiroth: *mumbles a quick thankyou and quickly averts his attention to some of Jenna’s books nearby. He picks up a book with a black outside and immediately drops it when it sets itself on fire after being touched. He glares at the book as it hits the floor, the fire going out, the book quite unharmed, but now even blacker than it was before*
Jenna: *nods at Sephiroth. She gently rubs Desiree’s back as she eats. She then mutters, mostly to herself* I wonder when this girl will do more than eat, sleep, and deficate. *shakes her head and sighs* It’s getting repetitive.
Sephiroth: *frowns slightly at Jenna’s words* She does more than that already. She… *pauses* She wakes us up with loud yelling. She also spends time awake in short bursts and is responsive to very simple play. Her attentive levels seem more advanced for a child her age than everything I have read about the subject.
Jenna: *sighs* Yes, I suppose that she does do that much. *shakes her head* Still, it isn’t all that much. *yawns once more then frowns at him* So, are you planning on banging then running again, hm? *narrows her eyes*
Sephiroth: She has potential, I can see that already. She can already create psychic signals. They are small, but noticable. She is mostly using them to express wants. *begins to hum at her next statement, his face showing disapproval* Whatever do you mean? *raises an eyebrow at her* Banging and running? *scowls in thought* Are you referring to ‘hit and run’ incidents?
Jenna: *Grumbles* You know full well what you did yesterday. *notices that Desiree is done eating. She then begins to gently pat her back in order to get the girl to burp*
Sephiroth: Pardon me? *grunts* What did I do yesterday? Let’s see… *pauses, pondering* We had sex. You left to go attend to the infant. We bathed the infant. You left to buy supplies for it. I called you back. Once you were back, I left to obtain food of my own. I returned. You were angry. We tried to discuss it, failed. You left. And now we are having this discussion. *glances back at her* So yes, I know I what I did yesterday. Which part are you referring to?
Jenna: *Glares at him. She personally thinks the fact that Sephiroth went completely cold and unaffectionate after the point that they stopped having sex is quite obvious. So, she just snorts then stands up* I’m going to rinse some of the residue off the girl’s face. *with that, she heads downstairs*
Sephiroth: *scowls back at her* What? *just stands there when Jenna gets to her feet and heads down the stairs* What the hell was wrong with anything I said? *snorts and follows after her* Stop. You have a problem – discuss it. Stop being like this – I’m not playing ridiculous guessing games with you for the rest of my life!
Jenna: *stops and turns to face Sephiroth again. She glares at hijm once more then growls* I told you full well what you did last night. You just ignored my statements and went back to sleep. So, stay in the dark. That’s where you want to be. *turns back around and continues on her way. Eventually, she enters the hot springs room and begins to rinse off Desiree’s face*
Sephiroth: *glares* Oh, you want to drag that out more? We discussed it and I asked what to do to change it. You are the one who left in a huff. YOU are the one who keeps leaving and not wanting to discuss this! *growls at her, baring his teeth* How the hell am I supposed to know what the hell your problem if if you’re going to have me guessing? I’m not a damn mind reader, you know. *snarls and turns his back on her, heading up the stairs* I’m not going to talk to you while you don’t want to talk.
Jenna: *narrows her eyes at Sephiroth* ~Actually, you are a mind-reader, Seph.~ *Snorts at him. She then grumbles and sets Desiree down onto the ground next to her* ~Fine, get back here and we’ll talk about how you were so eager to have sex with me. Then, once you were done with that, you ignored me.~
Sephiroth: *”No, I can’t just yank thoughts out of minds like an open book index.”* *growls* *”I most certainly did NOT ignore you after we had sex, I can wholeheartedly assure you of that.”* *telepathically transmits to her his memories of the situation, including his memories of Desiree crying some time after the sexual intercourse was over, and his feelings of dissapointment that they couldn’t lie there together longer. He also transmits his memories of Jenna getting up, moving away to tend to the baby girl* *”Right after that, I helped you bathe her. After that, we discussed more supplies for the girl, and then you left to go and get them. Where is the abandonment in this scenario?”*
Jenna: ~I’ve already told you what you did, or rather did not do, Seph. Why should I continue to tell you these things? Do you have such a thick skull that you can’t even listen to that much?~ *she loudly snorts* ~You didn’t even try or suggest coming with me. And as soon as I came back, you left nearly right away. Then, as soon as you came back, you went to sleep. You put no effort into anything. And I will not repeat myself on these issues again!~
Sephiroth: *”I’m listening fine, Jenna. I just don’t understand why some of this is such a giant issue to you and I am trying to comprehend it,”* *scowls* *”You seemed perfectly fine to go out on your own. I couldn’t have gone with you at that moment anyway – I was quite distracted with putting clothes on the infant. Once you had returned, only then did I leave to tend to my own needs. I had been looking after your nutritional needs for so long, I didn’t think it would be an issue to slip out and take care of my own. I admit sleeping afterwards was probably a bad idea especially if you wanted to communicate, but you could have told me. Don’t leave me to guess things.”*
Jenna: Hmph. *picks up Desiree and gently rocks the girl, trying to get her to go back to sleep. She then sits on top of one of the larger heated rocks that is positioned around the spring. For now, she doesn’t feel like continuing to talk to Sephiroth, not caring for the fact that he isn’t in the least bit sorry for his behavior yesterday*
Sephiroth: *growls and heads for the kitchen area so he be by himself there* *”I’ll talk about this again when you can stop being unreasonable.”* *snorts* *”But don’t think for a second you can get away with the accusation that I abandoned you. Because I did NOT.”*
Jenna: ~Hrmph, you’ve been doing it for the last month with your “patrols”. I told you that before. Then you continued yesterday after we had sex. Now, you are still staying away from me, Seph. Stop being such a damn idiot. You are continuing with it right now!~ *growls in annoyance, until Desiree begins to cry due to Jenna’s emotions. She sighs then rocks the child a bit more to calm her down*
Sephiroth: *”The very definition of ‘abandon’ means to ‘leave completely and finally; forsake utterly; desert’. Am I gone? No. Leaving for days at a time and not coming back would be considered abandonment, but I never once did that. Unless you are trying to change your reasons in the middle of an argument claim? You are angry with me because you claim I abandoned you after we had sex, when infact, YOU are the one who left, not me. If you want to still claim abandonment, don’t keep chalking it up because of that.”* *snarls* *”I explained the reason for patrolling the perimeter of the farmhouse, and I thought we had already resolved that. Unless you are holding a grudge, and want to dredge up old issues again?”* *growls* *”I am not abandoning you now, either. I am still within the base, and available for assistance. I think you need to look up the definition and research it properly.”*
Jenna: *her right eye twitches at Seph’s statement that she should look up the definition of a word. She then loudly growls in frustration, no longer caring that it is disturbing Desiree* Stubborn, idiotic, egotistical bastard! *gets up. She then sets Desiree down in her crib. Soon after, she moves back into the bathing room and slams the door shut behind her*
