Desiree: Yea.. he’s not letting these things affect his attitude at all.. *she shakes her head and quickly jogs after Kalysto. She then trips to hug onto him, hoping to stop him* Will you settle down. Zulmire was about to cut your hair. You know, that stuff that you keep on glaring at day in and day out. If you just calm down, you’ll get it back to a.. well, more attractive, to say the least, state.
Desiree: *frowns at the tone in Kalysto’s voice. She then quickly shakes her head* No. No, I won’t, Kalysto. I’m your friend, and I care about your well-being. We both do. I know you want to believe that no one cares about you, but that’s not true… Now, please, calm down. *she continues to hug onto him, hoping to keep him from leaving* If you settle down and let Zulmire go ahead with fixing your hair, I’ll get you a fresh bucket of mako.
Kalysto: *makes a loud grumbling noise* You think you’re going to win me over by buying into my addiction, but you don’t know how wrong you are. *scowls* Alright fine, gimmie.
Desiree: *Shakes her head* I am just appealing to your tastes, Kalysto. *she slowly loosens her grip on him* I’ll give you mako only once your hair is cut. Unless you really like looking like a hobo.
Kalysto: I’m not a hobo. *scowls at her* But fine, I’ll buy into your stupid hair-cut ‘reward’. *grumbles in Thalassian to himself as he heads back into his room* OK old man, cut my hair. You said you were going to, so do it. *grabs the chair from his desk and sits down at it*
Zulmire: *quietly sighs at him* Okey, mon. Whatever you say. *leaves the room to get some scissors. He returns soon with them and begins to cut and style Kalysto’s hair in the manner he normally likes it*
Desiree: *softly sighs* Stubborn, stubborn man.. *she then wanders away. After about twenty minutes of being gone, she returns to Kalysto’s room with a bucket full of mako that she had gathered from a breach in the volcanic veins that surround the base. She slips into the room then sets the bucket down next to Kalysto’s bed*
Jenna: *releases a relieved sigh as she spots Halcyon. Soon enough, she lands the helicopter in the field just outside of the base’s entrance. Unfortunately, as is customary with helicopters, the landing is rather rough and jerky*
Zulmire: *is just finishing up with Kalysto’s hair when Desiree returns. He finishes snipping off a few out-of-place strands and then he begins to tidy the clippings off the ground* Okey, it be done. *glances at the bucket of Mako* What da hell are yeh goin’ t’ be doin’ wif dat? You can’t leave dat dere.
Kalysto: *makes an annoyed growl* It’s mine. It’s payment.
Desiree: *softly sighs at Zulmire* I promised Kalysto that I’d let him have a bucket if he would just calm down and settle down.. *she glances at the elf* However, I should hope that he doesn’t use up all of this in one go. *she shakes her head then grins at Kalysto* Your hair looks much better.
Zulmire: *mutters aloud* Oh dat be sum very bad juju right dere… *flicks his ears back as he looks at Desiree, his expression stern* Don’t be offerin’ dat again. You be knowin’ exactly what he be goin’ t’ do with it, yah? Da point is to try an get it to stop. *whacks the back of Kalysto’s head* Not perpetuate it.
Kalysto: *flinches as his head is whacked. He stiffens his shoulders and shakes his head* You don’t know what I’m going to do with it? Compress it and make stones. There’s barely enough there to make three. Relax, old man.
Desiree: *releases a soft sigh then shakes her head* Yes, I know that we don’t want him to get smashed again and again. *She glances at Kalysto* I’ve asked him to try to moderate it before… But if he doesn’t overdo it- Well, then it’s just something he needs to live with, so I’ll help him.
Zulmire: Dey usually control it with a plant substitute. His brudder can munch three leaves an’ he’ll be right for the week. Is quite interestin’ to watch. *glances at Kalysto* I be not meaning t’ compare you to him all o’ da time, but why can’t you jus be doin dat? Jus’ grow the plant an’ eat th’ leaves an’ be happy.
Kalysto: *flatly* No. They make me constipated. *flicks his ears back as far as they will go* I’m right here you know. Don’t talk about me as if I’m somewhere else. *growls* There’s no reason for me to be here any more. *slides out of the chair and exits from the room*
Desiree: *releases a deep sigh before looking over at Zulmire* I don’t know about you, but I think asking him to moderate the intake of that stuff rather than just go cold turkey is easier… *She shrugs then exits the room. Soon enough, she walks over to the incubator box and moves in to poke the egg, for she is curious*
Jenna: *turns off the helicopter. She then gathers up the infant in her arms. She looks over at Sephiroth before nudging him* Wake up, my love. We’re home.
*the egg makes a gentle tapping noise when poked and the infant inside makes a loud ‘eee’ noise. The the egg shudders in its box before going quiet again. The youth inside is quite cramped and uncomfortable for it is as grown as it is going to be pre-hatching, but it doesn’t seem to want to come out just yet*
Zulmire: Dat what be happenin’ afore, silly human. *sighs and takes a seat, lowering his head* Like I say, dis subject be approached regularly. But is never handled well.
Desiree: *Continues to poke at the egg. At the moment, she’s not paying much attention to Zulmire at all*
Jenna: *groans and kicks at Sephiroth’s chair* Hey, wake up. I can’t lug you around and carry the infant at the same time. You’re much too heavy for that.
*the egg makes another loud ‘eee’ noise and wriggles around more, banging against the side of the box. This causes a crack to form on the side of the egg*
Zulmire: What you be doin? *moves to his feet and walks over to the incubator box, looking upset* Oh no, mon. *quickly moves to open the box, picking up the egg* You broke eet! Dat not suppos’d t’ happen, you be supposed to be lettin the youth come out on its own.
Desiree: *Scowls at Zulmire* I did not break it at all. Hrmph. *She crosses her arms* I was just gently tapping on it. The crack was caused by the thing inside, not by me. *she scowls then sighs* We should probably tell Kalysto..
Jenna: *Gives up on Sephiroth. So, she just leaves him in the helicopter. Soon enough, she moves into the base. As she heads to her room, she is likely to pass by Kalysto*
Kalysto: *gives Jenna a glance, but doesn’t acknowledge her much other than that as he moves past her and heads out of the base altogether, moving off to his herb garden*
Zulmire: Eh, he be gone now. You can tell him, but t’ be honest, I don’t think he really gives a damn. Pretty easy t’ tell he didn’t wanna have anythin’ to do with it.
Sephiroth: *just continues to snooze in the passenger seat*
Desiree: *frowns and glances to the side* He could have smashed it when he first got it. He didn’t… He might care more than what he’s letting on. *She shakes her head and sighs* ~Kalysto. That egg. It looks like it’s hatching.~
Kalysto: *”Great. You can have a really big omelette then.”* *crouches down and begins to weed out the garden, picking at some of the plants he has been growing*
*the egg begins to shake in Zulmire’s hands, as the disturbed infant continues to shift inside of it. Shortly afterwards, a tiny purpley-red wing breaks through the side of the egg where the crack is, flapping for a moment before trying to retract itself. The infant makes another loud eee’ing noise and begins trying to break out, deciding it’s had enough of being cramped*
Zulmire: I t’ink you made eet mad, mon…. *sets the egg down on Kalysto’s bed*
Desiree: All I did was tap on the egg. I didn’t break it or anything. Sheesh. Won’t you ever listen to anyone? *she rolls her eyes then frowns at Kalysto’s response* ~Kalysto.. it’s your offspring. Don’t you care in the smallest bit?~
Kalysto: *”No.”*
Zulmire: Eh, relax. I’m not mad or anyt’in. I think this be kind of interestin, actually. *crouches down to watch the egg hatch*
*the small half-dragonling soon uses its free wing to push itself further out of the shell. Soon enough, it thrashes its wing against the side, breaking it enough to make a hole big enough that it can poke its snout through. It pokes it’s golden ‘beak’ through the hole it has made and begins to pant, momentarily resting*
Desiree: *deeply frowns and shakes her head* ~With the amount that you pine over the loss of your own family.. One would have thought you’d treasure such things more.~ *she tilts her head as she spots the beak. She then moves closer* Hmm… that certainly looks very dragon-like…
Jenna: *sets the infant down on her bed. She then sighs and looks around the room* Well, not much has changed as far as I see. *she grins to herself at her own statement. However, she soon narrows her eyes as she senses a trace of residual energy from the spell that she had cast upon Rhyderi several months ago* What the-? *she moves closer to the area and begins to examine the energies with more care*
*the half-dragonling makes a loud hungry eeeing sound and pushes its head all the way through the egg shell. It blinks its blue-green eyes at Desiree, then quickly jerks its head back inside, pulling its wing in as if to hide* Whrrr-rrrr… *soon gets tired of that and pushes a paw out to begin breaking the rest of the egg so it can properly get out. Within a few more minutes, it has made a sufficiently large enough hole to kick out of, then it lays face down on the bed, it’s tiny wings sprawled out either side of it, panting hard from the energy exertion it has just used*
Zulmire: Heh… *reaches down to pat the baby on the head* I still don’t be knowin’ why da elf was picked for dis.
Kalysto: *”You don’t know a damn thing.”*
Desiree: ~I know that you like shooting off your mouth to cover up what you actually feel. You are the largest liar around, Kalysto. And you go so far as to try to make yourself believe some of your lies. I know that.~ *she shakes her head then tilts her head and examines the hatching* Well… Umm… It’s out. *she glances toward Rhyderi’s room* ~Hey.. Red-head. You’re an uncle now.~
Jenna: *continues to examine the energies for several more minutes. Finally, she begins to wander up the base, trying to find what the spell was cast on* Strange…
