Desiree: ~You overdo it so far when you do try to fix that “thirst”. I’m not talking about making that thing go away. I just know that mother knows how to pull in magical energies into her body. Seriously, have you ever sensed her? At all?~ *she shakes her head* ~This conversation really is circular.. Just come out of your room when you’re ready.~
Kalysto: *”No, sometimes I overdo it because it’s fun. It’s relatively easy to moderate – any idiot can do it. But… I don’t really want to change anything. It’s not something I want to fix or eradicate. Do I have to do it?”* *flattens his ears* *”I don’t really want to change who I am, and you are asking me to do just that?”*
Desiree: ~No, I’m not asking you to change yourself…~ *she sighs and shakes her head* ~That’s not it at all.. I’m just.. hoping that I can help you find a way to help out this “thirst” without smashing out your brains. Just a new way to pull in the energy. That’s all.~
Kalysto: *”It’s simple enough – just do my regular thing without engorging myself on the energies. Many a Blood Elf survives that way, taking only as little as they need. That’s… not how I function however. But fine – fine… we’ll do it your way.”* *slides out of his chair and leaves the room to join Desiree*
Desiree: ~But… I’m not.. I’m not telling you to do it one way or another. I’m just hoping that maybe my mother can help you think of a new way to get this energy.. I think you don’t understand..~ *Desiree’s door is unlocked. For now, she’s still lounging on her bed and reading the book that catalogs various demons from earth*
Kalysto: *”A new way? You mean there’s more ways than what I already know? Very well, you have my interest. For now.”* *gently opens Desiree’s door and glances inside, eyeing off her book* Demonology interests you that much?
Desiree: ~Well, there has to be more than one way to pull in magical energies… I mean, a lot of books document like twenty different ways to cast the same exact spell…~ *she then blinks as Kalysto walks into her room and speaks to her. Shrugging, she mumbles* It was on the shelf.. *she closes the book* Would you like to read it next?
Kalysto: Sure. Fine. Give it to me when you’re done. I’ll see that it gets a good reading when it’s in my posession. At the very least I’d like to see what it suggests, and how much it differs from what I already know. *shrugs* Well, you finally have me here. Lead the way.
Desiree: Uh… I don’t think that what you’re thinking is what this book is for… *shrugging, she closes the book. She then walks over to Kalysto and holds it out to him* Here, I can read it at any point. *she nods behind her bed* Anyway, I’ve gathered plenty of books to read.
Kalysto: What? Generally I’ve found that books are for reading and for education. If that’s not what the book is for, then I am sorely missing out on some other purpose. Hmm… *scowls* What else could you use a book for? Propping up furniture? Crushing insects?
Desiree: *blinks at Kalysto* Eh, that’s not what I meant either. I just meant the contents of the book are probably not quite what you think they are. *she shrugs* I don’t know for certain though, I don’t know what you’re thinking about. *she then moves toward the doorway* Well, shall we?
Kalysto: *shrugs* Fine by me. *moves for the doorway, heading into the corridor. He glances back, seeming to be waiting for Desiree now* This better not take long. If my concoction is left unattended for an extended period of time, it could become unstable and explode.
Desiree: *sighs at him* I can’t promise anything… *she shrugs after handing over the book to Kalysto. She then steps out of her room and leads him down the stairs to where her parents’ room is. Once there, she silently slips inside*
Jenna: *has not fared too well for the last few months. At the moment, she’s rather pale and looks frail, even though her abdomen is a bit swollen due to the growing fetus. She is currently sitting in the bed and staring at the wall. She softly hums to herself. However, she doesn’t seem to be mentally too active*
Kalysto: *takes the book from Desiree and begins to flip through it as he follows her down the stairs. When he leads him into the new room, he is still reading the book and not really paying too much attention at first. He soon glances up at Jenna, then raises his eyebrows slightly* Are you sure this is the person? Doesn’t look too… hmm. *shakes his head* We should do this another time.
*The book mostly discusses the types of demons that have been located and found on Earth in the past. It discusses the various habits of these demons, including the types of habitats that they live in. It also mentions their powers and what dangers they pose to humans. At no point, however, does the book ever mention taming demons or using them as pets.*
Desiree: *stares at Jenna for a few moments as she reaches the room. She then slowly approaches her mother and pokes her* Umm… ~Father, are you nearby?~
Jenna: *blinks as she’s poked. She then tilts her head toward Desiree and glances at her* Silly little girl…
Kalysto: *sets the book down on a nearby table and moves over to the bed, glancing down at Jenna* She looks like somebody killed her. Or she has brain damage. Or… *narrows his eyes, unable to identify anything else* Something. This isn’t going to work, Desiree. Come back another time.
Sephiroth: *is in the downstairs library nearby, seeming to be passing his time with arranging books and their order on the shelves* *”I am nearby. Do you need something?”*
Desiree: ~Yea… Umm.. I came to talk to mother. But.. Can you come here? I don’t know what the heck is up with her at all. She seems spaced out.~
Jenna: *her eyes sudeenly shift coloration to blood red. She then focuses a glare on Kalysto before she begins to snarl at him* Foolish, foolish pointy-eared fool. Death not come to me. Not ever. *she then casts a spell to shove him over before her eyes shift color again*
Sephiroth: *”Just leave her alone… I don’t know what’s wrong, but she’s deteriorating more and more as time goes on…”* *sighs and continues arranging books, not seeming to be terribly bothered by the turn of events* *”She’ll be fine sooner or later. Just give it time.”*
Kalysto: *growls as he is knocked back and stands up, brushing himself off, seeming angry* Fine, don’t do anything…. *harumphs* Really useful advice on how to fix my ‘problem’.
Desiree: *yelps as she watches Kalysto get knocked back. She then rushes over to him and tries to help him up. However, she steps back when he fully stands up* Umm… I didn’t know she was like this. I swear. *She shakes her head* This isn’t like her at all, Kalysto. *she then frowns* ~She’s deteriorating? What do you mean, Father?~
Sephiroth: *”It’s a long story and… well it’s not really worth talking about. But the Jenova cells which give us our unique ability are plaging her body and killing it. Her mind is already gone, I don’t even want to interact with her any more. But it shall go away… I think. I don’t know…”*
Desiree: *She deeply frowns at what Sephiroth is saying* ~Father, if she is sick… shouldn’t you be there with her and not avoiding her? She does seem to be somewhat responding to us.. After all, she just attacked Kalysto.~
Jenna: *softly hums to herself once more. She then sighs and moves to lie down properly on the bed*
Sephiroth: *”She’s not herself any more, what good is it going to do?”* *scowls* *”Nothing. Also… why would you of all people be suggesting such a thing? I thought you hated her, and you want me to leave her?”* *shakes his head* *”Things work as they are now.”*
Kalysto: Yeah, screw this. *turns to head out the door again*
Desiree: *deeply frowns then sighs* ~Yes, I hate her… but even she doesn’t deserve this. Father, I know I’ve read that abandoning someone with an illness in the head will only make it worse… You need to be with her, at her side. You can’t just leave her be.. She’ll only get worse.~ *she sighs as Kalysto leaves. She then quickly moves to follow him*
Sephiroth: *snorts* Uh huh… *moves towards Jenna, narrowing his eyes at Desiree* Watch this. Just my mere prescence will set off something in her. She’s going to call me “Silver Hair” and declare how much she hates me, or something stupid like that. I bet you anything. I don’t want to be near that.
Jenna: *her eyes focus on Sephiroth after he nears her. She then softly grins and mutters under her breath* Seph… Time for doctor again…?
Desiree: *pauses in the doorway to look back at Sephiroth. She then frowns* Father, it was hard taking care of you all those years when your soul was trapped in that gem thing.. I never once tried to abandon you because it was hard.
