Desiree continued to frown, but she finally put the keys in the ignitions. “We can still ask if there are alternatives that we haven’t thought of. Maybe there are… And, you’re not that effimin- Well, you are some..”
Shaking her head, Desiree shifted into gear and began to drive away.
“We can discuss it, I guess.” Kalysto frowned and was mostly silent all the way to the medical center. When they arrived, he calmly hopped out of the car and walked into the waiting-room, taking a seat inside the door. He put his head down and sighed, not really wanting to look at the other waiting-room patrons.
As soon as Desiree sat down next to Kalysto, she reached over to caress his back. While she was concerned about what pain he might go through, she did want to try to prevent future pregnancies. So, she was hoping that he would follow through, or that they would find an alternative solution. Thus, Desiree remain silent as she rubbed her husband’s back.
About half an hour later, a nurse came by to the couple in order to ask Kalysto to follow her so that she could take some blood samples.
Kalysto stiffened in his posture when Desiree touched him, making it quite obvious that he was still not happy about being there. He didn’t say anything when the nurse arrived, and he followed her down the hall, not seeming very happy when she took some of his blood. He sat on the examination table while he waited for results.
“I don’t want to look when they neuter me…” He mumbled. “God, why don’t they just knock me out for it already…?”
The nurse looked up as she finished labeling the vials of blood that she had taken. “We need to do a few simple tests before we have you brought into the surgical ward. Don’t worry, we shouldn’t find anything to worry about. You can go back to the waiting room and make yourself comfortable though.”
Kalysto sighed and nodded his head. He slid off the table and returned to the waiting room as he was told. *”What are you going to do if this method doesn’t work, Desiree? I mean, we’re out of options when we come to this anyway, but… there is a chance that it still won’t work, right?”*
“The failure element is only shortly after the procedure,” Desiree softly spoke. “However… Maybe there are other things we can try. I think there’s something to… We’ll talk to the doctor, ok?”
Kalysto lowered his head and nodded, replying. “Right. Talk to the doctor. Don’t talk about it out here, this isn’t the place.” He released a quiet nervous sigh and waited in the chair, twaddling his thumbs together while he stared at them.
Well after half an hour of waiting, the nurse returned to Kalysto to inform him that the tests were done and that he could follow her. Desiree wasted no time in standing up to accompany Kalysto this time.
As they were brought to the examination room, they were greeted by the site of Wesker, donning a black suit per his usual tendencies. The blonde was reviewing over the results of Kalysto’s blood work and smirking to himself.
Kalysto lowered his head as he followed down the hallway. He stopped in the door of the examination room when he spied Wesker and hesitated momentarily before he finally stepped inside, his body going quite tense and nervous at the sight of such a large imposing figure.
“Um… hi…” He stated finally.
Wesker slowly lifted up his head to eye over Kalysto. “Ah, you must be Mr. Sol’Thenon,” the man purred out. “You are a very unusual… male.”
Kalysto cringed as he stepped into the room. “Wh.. are you my doctor?” He took a seat nearby the table without waiting to be told. “I, ah… how am I… unusual, sir? I mean… I’m an elf, but…” He shrugged, before he sent Desiree a very hopeless expression.
*”You want THIS guy to neuter me?! Do something!”*
“Well yes, you are that,” Wesker drawled out in annoyance. “However, that was not what we found. It seems that you have been in contact with a very.. interesting pathogen. Very interesting indeed.”
Desiree deeply frowned as she heard the blonde speak. ~I’m… not sure…~
Kalysto raised his brows, both confused and curious. “What pathogen? Explain… um.” He shook his head. “Who are you, anyway? Are you going to be the one doing the… the thing to…” He cut himself off. “I’m confused. I don’t know what’s going on any more.”
“My name is Albert Wesker,” Wesker replied as he moved in closer to Kalysto. “And the pathogen in your system is very interesting. I have not seen anything like it before. However, it does not seem to be contageous nor is it active, at the moment.”
“However, this also means that you are illegible for the procedure you desire.”
“Illegible for the…” Kalysto stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening. “Really? That’s g… I mean…” He chose his words carefully, not wanting to make Desiree angry. “What’s going on? What is it? And why is it in me? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Unfortunately, since I have never encountered such a viral strand before,” Wesker pushed his sunglasses up a bit, adjusted the way that they were sitting. “I would like to do more tests to determine the properties of this, anomaly.”
“Tests?” Kalysto scowled now. “Hey, I don’t consent to that. I don’t want to be come some science experiment in a cage. You can have more of my blood or whatever you need, but I’m no lab-rat, sorry.”
He nodded to Desiree. “Go on. Tell him.”
Wesker chuckled at Kalysto’s sentiments. “Experiment in a cage? Heh, no, that was not what is needed. We simply will need to take some readings of your vitals and gather more samples of your blood from time to time. I think you’ll find it rather.. unintrusive.”
Meanwhile, Desiree bit her bottom lip as she thought. “Well, I think… First, if we can’t do the umm.. procedure, what should we do?”
Kalysto sighed. “Yes, Desiree is right. I came in here to get sterilised. if we can’t get it done, what are our options from here?” He shrugged. “I didn’t really want it, but you gotta suggest something, right?”
Wesker sneered as his purpose in the room was being diverted. Grunting, the man drawled out, “We can have an IUD inserted into the woman’s uterus to prevent pregnancies. It is a rather simple procedure. Now, as for those tests that would be needed..”
Kalysto looked stunned. “That’s it? And you’re sure that will work? I mean, eh….” He shot Desiree a confused look. *”Are you going to be OK with that, Desi?”*
He flicked his ears back at the mention of the tests. “Yeah, do whatever you want as long as it’s within reason. Just give Desiree her thing so I can get out of here.”
Wesker grunted at the interruption that Kalysto was presenting. So, he pulled out his phone before he pressed a few buttons. “Yes.. A nurse will be with her shortly for that procedure. She’ll be seen to properly. Now, follow me.”
Without saying another word, Wesker left the room, expecting Kalysto to follow him.
Kalysto’s frown deepened. “Uh, ah…. Desiree?” He shot her the same expression. “Are you going to be OK with that?” He looked back at Wesker, bewildered. “Follow you? Where are you taking me?” He slid off the examination table and stood near the door, waiting to be directed.
“I’ll.. um… see you later then, Desi… yes?” He sighed.
