The dragon stared at her briefly, but gave no indication that it actually understood what she was saying. Finally, he yawned and put his head down, immersing most of himself in the water except the tip of his snout so he could breathe. He made a singular squeak and telepathically expressed disinterest.
“Hrmph, clearly your kind are not born with knowledge of your names then. What a pity. For a species that keeps on claiming that you are superior, you are not much of anything,” Noemi commented as she continued to relish the feel of the spa jets.
The dragon made a soft rumbly sound and suddenly snorted water-droplets out of his snout. He raised his head out of the water again and rested his head on the Captain’s knee.
Meanwhile, The General was done with his nap. He moved to his feet and walked into the bathroom, only to discover that Noemi was in there. He stopped just inside the doorway and watched her briefly before he turned around and walked back into the living space.
“Don’t be nice to it, or we’ll be treating it like a pet soon…” He sighed.
Noemi lifted her head as she heard the General walk into the bathroom. When he turned around, she rolled her eyes.
“General, you know full well that I do not care if you use the bathroom while I am in here. You do not have to show modesty,” Noemi snorted at the very notion. “We have been far from modest in the past. As for being nice, I am just making the dragon stop its whining.”
“It would have stopped whining if you had ignored it.” General Sephiroth stated as he headed into the closet area. He changed into something decent and presentable before he appeared in the doorway of the bathroom again.
“Well, while you have it there, you can keep an eye on it for a few moments longer, yes?” He smirked. “There’s no way in hell I’m going to use this room with both of you in here.”
Noemi leaned forward, intending to tempt her friend with a view of her cleavage. “Oh, is that so? Even with all the opportunities that you are going to be missing by staying out there, hm? I didn’t think that you were the type to let things slip you by like that.”
General Sephiroth replied with a vaguely humoured grunt and slowly shook his head at the woman. “Yes, it’s very nice, but I can enjoy it any time I like, can’t I?” He backed out the door once more. “Now, if you will excuse me, I have important matters to attend to.”
The dragon slowly coiled his tail around Noemi’s leg.
“I find that hard to believe, General,” Noemi calmly replied as she leaned back in the tub once more. “You were given the day off, hence there are no important matters that you should need to attend to at all today.”
“Yes there is,” General Sephiroth frowned. “You just mentioned it. We were already talking about it. If I have to mention it again, very well – there’s no way in hell I’m going to use this room with both of you in here.” He headed out the door again. “I shall return in a few minutes.”
“You do realize that you did not state anything pressing that you need to be attending to, General,” Noemi shook her head at the man. “However, very well, do your thing. Whatever that may be.”
“I would have hoped you could work that out on your own.” General Sephiroth said before he disappeared out the door.
The dragon raised his head as he heard the door slam, then squeaked up at Noemi once more, his squeak tiny and confused. He gave off the same telepathic expression to the general area, for he didn’t seem to understand these people around him at all.
Noemi frowned at the dragon. She had only meant to entertain it for a few moments, and it was once again annoying her with the psychic messages. So, she pushed herself up before she picked up the dragon to deposit it on the bathroom floor.
“You have been in here long enough. Go to your owner,” Noemi commanded before she sat back down.
The dragon shook himself off, a little annoyed to have been removed from his warm place. He made a soft honking sound of protest and promptly skittered away out of the room, his claws making soft clicking noises as he walked across the tiles. Once back in the main living quarters, he attempted to climb up onto the bed, wanting to properly dry himself off and get warm.
General Sephiroth returned to the room a few moments later as promised, looking a lot happier. He glared down at the dragon and picked it up.
“Noemi… where can I find an animal bed? This ship never allowed us to have pets before, and I highly doubt that I am going to find such supplies anywhere on-board.”“I am certain that there is a store on this island that will have the supplies you need, General,” Nosmi easily replied, feeling quite lazy. “I know there are pet stores. You’re a smart man. I’m certain you can modify something to fit your needs.”
General Sephiroth slowly shook his head. “Phh, pet stores. Of course. If I need to be blunt and exactly to the point every time, I’m asking you where, specifically, I could find one. If you don’t know, you could have just said so.” He frowned as the dragon began to struggle in his grasp.
“No, General, I do not know the exact location of a pet store around this area. Ask your puppy underline. He probably knows where one is,” Noemi suggested. “However, I have personally never searched one out.”
“Which puppy underling?” General Sephiroth snorted in irritation. “I should probably just get one of them to do it… when do we ever get a day off? Never, actually.” He set the dragon down, annoyed with how much it struggled. “Oh, shut up!”
The dragon hissed at him and skittered under the bed.
“Your lieutenant, Zackary Fair, General. That puppy,” Noemi responded in a bored tone. “You know full well what sort of nick-name that man has. Come now, just think about his personality.”
“And I would imagine that you will get plenty of days off soon enough. However, for now, I would suggest that it is of a good idea to join me.”
“Phh…” General Sephiroth made a discontent sound at the thought of Zack. He shook his head in irritation and moved towards the bathtub. “Are you going to be staying in for much longer? It would be a shame to strip down and discover that you’re going to be leaving shortly.”
Despite his words, he unbuttoned his shirt anyway.
“Hmm…,” Noemi lifted her eyes to the ceiling as she pondered her answer. “I think I can happily stay in here for another hour. The jets are just bliss for today. I am quite glad that I went for the massage technology.”
The captain grinned as she watched her friend strip down. “You know, for an old man, you are still very ripped.”
Once the General had stripped down naked, he stepped into the free space in the bathtub and sat down. “The air-jets are all-right I suppose. Are you sore? Tired? Perhaps that’s why they would be particularly appealing to you if that is the case.”
He idly flicked at the water’s bubbling surface with his left hand. “I am ripped? I am glad that you think so. Perhaps it is a combination of genetics and the fact that I still exercise and move around. I would hate to be stuck behind a desk all day and lose it.”
“I would hate for you to lose it as well, my dear friend,” Noemi complimented as she leaned in to the General’s side.
“Hm… Perhaps I should entertain your idea of cutting off your locks.” She lifted her hand up to imitate cutting the general’s hair around the base of his head. “Hmm… Then again, I do not think I’ve seen you with your hair short for decades.”
“You’re right – I haven’t had short hair in many years.” The General gave a slow nod of his head and relaxed his back against the wall of the tub behind him. “I can’t have been older than about twelve… ever since then I demanded that they let me grow my hair out.”
Noemi hummed in thought for several more moments as she playfully bundled her friend’s hair together in a pony tail. As she listened to him, she nodded her head. However, as the General finished speaking, she suddenly used a spell to make one of her army knives appear in her right hand. With a swift flick of her wrist, the woman sliced through the General’s hair, chopping it off at the nape of his neck.
General Sephiroth kept his head very still once the army knife had come out. He didn’t particularly want to be cut by it if he made a wrong move. He also didn’t want Noemi to cut him accidentally. The frown on his face grew as she cut more of his hair off.
“Are you planning to style it? You couldn’t possibly do that with that implement you are using.”
