Desiree: *Scowls even more, now nearly bristling. However, she jumps as Droozun begins to burry himself under the covers then sighs* I’m sorry, boy. My father is being a pain. I guess you wouldn’t know much about that.. Heh, lucky. *shaking her head, she glares at the wall* ~Yes, I’m still with the elf. I love him, Father. And we are doing fine.~
Sephiroth: *”Yes, I’m sure you are. Do you plan to come home at all? Because I would really like to know, either way. There are productive things you could be doing and life is not one giant holiday. What about your study?”* *grunts as he makes his way back into the house, walking upstairs to the master bedroom* Desiree is in Wutai.
Droozun: *flops onto his side once he has found a good spot*
Desiree: ~I study things that don’t necessarily go with what you think I should be studying. I’m pretty damn good with it too! And I moved out a long time ago, Father. I think I’ll continues to keep it that way. I don’t need to live under your thumb.~ *chuckles at Droozun* Yes, you most certainly have the life.
Jenna: *looks up at Sephiroth* Hmm…? Is there something wrong with that?
Sephiroth: *sighs in frustration* She’s only 16, Jenna. She has no skills. And she thinks she can just live away from home with no problems or cares in the world. *folds his arms* She’s going to end up broke and she’s going to come back to me demanding money to support her carefree lifestyle.
Jenna: *sighs* That very well may be what happens. However, I get the feeling she’s not alone, is she? So, that prediction may become true. However, there is just as much of a chance that she will actually make it out there. *Shakes her head* What are you going to be able to do about it anyway? Go out there and drag her here by the hair?
Sephiroth: If it really has to come to that… *grunts sharply* I will if it means that. *shakes his head* She’s with that damn elf again… I don’t approve of it at all. I don’t know what you’re not seeing, but he’s bad news. *tosses the paper onto the bed, not feeling like reading it any more*
Jenna: Seph, if I had a father, you know that he would have claimed the same things about you. Heh, I don’t think anyone would have ever classified you at any point in your life as “good news” for a woman. *shakes her head then walks closer to Seph* I think you’re just being overprotective there.
Sephiroth: *sighs* Is there anything wrong with it? I don’t see what it is. She’s not even old enough to make something useful of herself. She’s being defiant. I can’t tolerate something like that, I’m sorry to say. And you want me to just leave her to her own world? *snarls*
Jenna: Well, neither of us were exactly being coddled at her age, Seph. Perhaps some real world experience would help her out? *she shrugs* Bring her back home if you want. However, I don’t think you should try to destroy her relationship with the elf. Personally, I think he’s as dumb about expressing feelings as you are.
Sephiroth: *makes a loud grumbling noise* Fine… I’ll leave her where she is. See how long it lasts. You can say that neither of us were being coddled at 16, but at that point I was in the army and ranking up, and you were in an environment that did not really require monetary funding or anything similar. Desiree has no house, no job, no income, no way of supporting herself, and she grew up on the island so she hasn’t really got a clue of how humans function.
Jenna: *narrows her eyes* Yes… I had things so easy with my environment. For the record, Halcyon did have a monetary system, and I had none. So, I made due by sleeping in trees and whatnot. *snorts at him* I hunted my food, while others could have simply buy food. *shakes her head* And I’m certain Desiree knows more about humans than either of us understood at her age. Most certainly more than I did.
Sephiroth: She still won’t be able to do much with herself. She’s still a kid, Jen! *growls, sitting down on the bed, trying to cover everything else over with anger* She’s incompetent. She’s never going to make her way in the world, and then she’s going to come back to me demanding money to support her ridiculous lifestyle. *shakes his head* No, I should bring her back. I admire her strive for independance, but it’s not going to work right now.
Jenna: While, I don’t agree with you, Seph. I’m not going to stop you. I will, however, stop you if you try to interfere with her love ife. *She shakes her head* I don’t see why you dislike her choice of mate so much.
Sephiroth: Isn’t it obvious? Don’t you see? *begins to loudly growl* He is an incompetent idiot. And he is completely unable to protect her. A male isn’t worth his weight in salt if he can’t even do that for his partner. And that elf… *snorts* I dragged him outside when I first met him and he couldn’t even hold himself in a fight for a solid minute. He was more interested in screaming like a little girl and retreating. *glares* He only thinks of himself. Desiree is going to end up hurt one day.
Jenna: Hmmm… *narrows her eyes* Somehow, I think there’s more to that story than what you are portraying there. *she shakes her head* And what will you do if I test them and they prove themselves?
Sephiroth: *raises an eyebrow* Oh, you want to test them and see what they do? Intruiging. *frowns in thought* You just want to prove me wrong, don’t you? *grunts* Alright – go ahead and test them. I don’t know what I would do if they prove themselves. Do you want me to say that I would leave them alone or stop caring? I don’t know about that one.
Jenna: No, I am not telling you to not care about them. *shes shakes her head* That’s not the point at all. However, I sense that for you to have at least some faith in them, some proof must be given, no? Anyway, might as well check out our daughter’s suitor.
Sephiroth: *makes a frustrated sound at her* Very well… I concede to your logic. Go see what you can discover… *turns his attention to the floor, still very clearly not liking the situation* You obviously do not agree with me and I am going to just have to resign myself to that fact.
Jenna: Heh, I did not say that I would test their merit right away. *she shakes her head* I need some time to think and plan. If you want to bring Desiree here in the meantime, go. Do it. It’ll make you feel better. However, I will test their relationship. If they pass, I should hope that you consider accepting it.
Sephiroth: I want to bring her back so she’s out of harm’s way – understand that much. And if it will keep her here… *makes a loud annoyed sound* Then perhaps it would be wise to allow the elf to stay with her here too. But know this – I don’t like it.
Jenna: That sounds very reasonable. *nods* May I just ask one question before you go to retrieve her? How did you know where she was at this point in time? I do not understand that element.
Sephiroth: *flicks the mail from ShinRa’s TURKS onto the bed beside her* Intelligence from Shinra. People were there, and observed her activities with the elf. And thus, I was informed about her behaviour.
Jenna: *glances over the information that Sephiroth threw at her. She then deeply frowns and looks straight up at Sephiroth* This isn’t casual observance, Seph. They were actively trying to find her. *narrows her eyes at Sephiroth* Why is ShinRa trying to spy on our family?
Sephiroth: I am not sure. But they knew when Halcyon had suffered a cave-in. *scowls, folding his arms* I suppose they are spying on me to observe my activities. You know, be quiet, do what I’m told by their company, and their world doesn’t get blown up.
