Kalysto: What the hell is she doing anyway? *stares at the flame dragon and shakes his head, awed by its size and presence* What..? *attempts to approach, speaking out to Jenna* How are you doing that exactly?
Jenna: *glances at Kalysto as she hears his voice. She then snorts and waves her hand, making the flames that she was manipulating vanish away and fizzle out into the air* What do you mean? You certainly have seen and used magic before. I can smell it all over you.
Kalysto: I know, but… I’ve never seen magic used like that to create an animal. It doesn’t make any sense – is it a spirit? It certainly did not seem or look like one, to be honest with you. I don’t even know what it was. Can you enlighten me? *glances back at Desiree* Do you still want to learn something?
Desiree: *crosses her arms and leans against a nearby tree. She glares at Jenna. However, she does wave her hand in dismissive way as Kalysto talks to her* No, go on. It’s fine.
Jenna: No, it’s no spirit. I did not infuse the flames with anything. All I did was manipulate them to make them take on the shape of something and move about at will. *She then kneels down* It can be done with next to anything. *She then manipulates the ground to make a giant snake rise up in front of Kalysto. The snake then opens up a cobra-like cowl*
Kalysto: *smirks in amusement* Oh, I see! *moves a hand forward to swat through the cobra, wondering if he can displace the rocks* Does this serve a purpose other than to look intimidating?
Jenna: Well, in the case of something like this, it can hit with quite a lot of force, making it a rather effective weapon. I can also have it attack something behind me while I work on something else. There’s also the intimidation factor. *she shrugs* And it’s fun. *snaps her fingers to make the snake fall apart and collapse onto the ground*
Kalysto: Oh, so it’s like a decoy… like… an elemental spirit, but it’s not a spirit. Right. *pauses, wondering if he’s just confusing Jenna* Um, yeah. It’s still pretty interesting never the less. I wish I knew how to do something like that. Is it manipulative magic? What thread is it of?
Jenna: Thread? *chuckles at Kalysto* I don’t work with that sort of idealogy. All magic is inheritly the same, no matter what people say. You can mix them, mold them, and create something new that is all your own just by ignoring this “thread” idea.
Kalysto: But all veins of magic run different paths. Granted, they all have the same root, but the veins, or threads, or branches, are all very different. Do you understand what I mean? You probably understand what I mean better than I do…
Jenna: *chuckles* Yes, they did diverge. However, merging them together is not as hard as you might think it is. It just takes a very smart person to break the “taboos” set by the old idiots. Or perhaps just another old idiot. *smirks at him. She then aims a new spell at a tree. This time, the tree withers away as a dark blue set of flames devour it down*
Kalysto: *smirks at her, then flicks his hands, attempting to make something out of a fireblast he creates. He only manages a cylindrical spiral whirl before if fizzles out completely* Well… shit. *looks dissapointed*
Jenna: Heh, don’t disappoint yourself too much, boy. I am around four hundred years old, after all. I think that I’ve learned several tricks that you haven’t even thought about. *grins. She then manipulates her spell to make the tree collapse in on itself*
Kalysto: Destructive… *shakes his head* I’m not a boy, either. I’m fully grown. *frowns* I’m just not old enough in age-numbers to be declared a fully-fledged adult. I left and was taken here before I was given my coming-of-age ceremony, too. *flicks his ears back* I will annoy you later for teachings. Your comments intruige me.
Jenna: Who said I do lessons? *coldly smirks* All you youths, always looking for the easy way. Not willing to let things explode in your face. Not willing to just steal what you want. Well… youths are willing to do that part. *shrugs* Very well, if you really think you want to learn something from me, I shall see what I can do for you.
Kalysto: *gives Jenna a formal bow, then wanders away from the area, nodding at Desiree as if indicating for her to follow* *”We should get back to where we were before we got hit with wood… preferabbly move further away. So we don’t get hit with more flying projectiles. Then we can continue. Or at least start…”*
Desiree: *Scowls and glares in Jenna’s direction one last time. She then snorts and quickly moves after Kalysto* Yes, let’s get to someplace far away from here. So, do you have any idea on what you think is up to my speed?
Kalysto: I don’t know. I don’t know if you’re capable of melding with the shadow or not. It seems like it… possibly. *glances at her, thinking hard* You seem to be good with the demons, though. I don’t know if I should get you to focus on that, or astral magic, or elemental magic.
Desiree: Why do you keep on mentioning elemental magic at all? I’ve never been good at any elemental type magic. At all. *shakes her head* Where did you get that idea?
Kalysto: Because it’s a good way of attacking. *nods* If you understand the magic, you can understand it’s area better. Does that make any sense? I know how to play with the shadow, so I can meld with it, and harmonize with all creatures of the shadow.
Desiree: Yes, I know that it’s a good way of attacking, but what makes you think that I’m good with that sort of magic? I can’t even recall really using any elemental-like spells at all. *She shakes her head*
Kalysto: Even if you don’t use them to attack, they can bring insight into how you do other things.
For instance… *phase shifts onto the astral plane, dissapearing entirely. He phases out again seconds later, standing behind her now* …without that? I wouldn’t have known what the heck to do without having prior knowledge of how the magic works beforehand.
Desiree: *Frowns at Kalysto* Are you listening to my question? You’ve been talking about shadowmelting since I’ve asked my question. I want to know why you have suggested multiple times that I study elemental magic. I don’t see what makes you think that I am any good at that sort of magic. *She shakes her head*
Kalysto: Fine… fine… *lowers his head, thinking* Do you… want to learn how to meld with the shadow? It’s just a matter of… *phases out of the tangible plane, then reappears in another spot nearby. As he does this, he telepathically transmits his current thought processes and what magic in his mind he’s activating while doing this*
Desiree: You still never answered my question… *sighing, she closes her eyes as Kalysto sends the information to her. She then glances at him* I assume I should be near a shadow before I start that sort of thing, hm?
