Desiree: *nods* Yes, I can teleport without the use of magic. That’s part of the power of Jenova. *She then shrugs and attempts to do a shadow meld like Kalysto showed her. After a bit, she manages to disappear and reappear next to him* How was that?
Kalysto: *blinks at how quickly she did that, then rises to his feet again to applaud her* Brilliant. *chuckles lightly* When I tried that, it took me months. And once I got stuck. Zulmire had to go retrieve me. And then I didn’t want to do it again for months. Hmm… *glances off into the distance, thinking hard about what to show her next*
Desiree: I told you I try the complex spells because I’m ready for them.. *sighs* I can also do things like this. *she closes her eyes once again, she then casts an illusion spell to make herself look like a complete duplicate of Kalysto while making Kalysto seem to be shrunk to a small child, at least to his senses*
Kalysto: What… what..? *stumbles back, his attention on her initially, then on himself, mostly disorientated at the perceived change of height. He looks at his hands and begins to cringe, then looks back up at her, moving back before beginning to retreat entirely*
Desiree: *rolls her eyes as Kalysto begins to run away. She then chuckles, even though Kalysto would see only “himself” doing these actions* Pretty impressive, hm?
Kalysto: *doesn’t reply and continues to run. He hides behind one of the trees nearby and begins panting, wondering what the hell is going on. He looks down at his hands again, then phase shifts onto the astral plane, wondering how much he’s been changed*
Desiree: *shakes her head then moves to lean against a tree. She softly chuckles under her breath as she waits for Kalysto to return* ~Oh, you don’t need to hide like that, Kalysto. Do you really think that I’d do something to harm you?~
Kalysto: *”Damn it, Desiree. Screw around with magic if you want, but don’t bite the hand that feeds you!”* *snarls* *”Why did you do that? I was trying to help you – messing around like that is counterproductive and downright inconsiderate!”*
Desiree: ~Oh, settle down. There’s nothing wrong with you at all. It’s all an illusion. Fake. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you. All I messed around with is what you’re perceiving. Come on back out.~
Kalysto: *”You’re not getting it!”* *seems to become even angrier* *”I don’t care what you did to me – if I’m going out of my way to help you learn something new, you don’t do anything to me. Period. Is that understood??”*
Desiree: ~It’s just a small joke, Kalysto. Like I said, I didn’t actually do anything to you. You’re fine. Illusions should be pretty easy to break, if you know it isn’t real. Hell, I’m certain that I’ve encountered a person or two that was completely unaffected by them..~
Kalysto: *”The joke is funny to who? Know your damn limitations and don’t fuck around, especially when I’m trying to teach you things. You don’t see me… setting you on fire for laughs, do you? I’m insulted! You can go find somebody else to help you, honestly.”*
Desiree: *Groans at Kalysto’s words* ~Ok, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. Will you come out already? Seriously, there’s no reason for you to hide.~
Kalysto: *”I’m not hiding – I don’t want to deal with the bullshit you just pulled on me in the name of cheap humor and laughs!”* *teleports back to the area, arms folded, his eyes closed* Seriously, pick your own battles. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. And all that other bullshit. *moves back towards the house* I am going to check on the chicken.
Desiree: *groans once more and removes the illusion spells all together. She then dashes after Kalysto* Listen, I said I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. *Frowns at him* Please, accept my appologies there. I won’t play around like that again.
Kalysto: *flustered* You’re forgiven, but don’t pull that shit again! *shakes himself off and steps into the house to readjust the knobs on the oven* I don’t feel like teaching you any more right now. I’m going to fly to that island and see how the troll-face is doing with my bastard offspring.
Desiree: I said I wouldn’t do it again, at least to you. *She shrugs then tilts her head to the left side* Didn’t you just say you were going to check up on the chicken? Which one are you going to do?
Kalysto: The chicken is two feet in front of me! I just readjusted the knob. *sets the timer on the oven now he’s content with how far into the cooking process it is* Tell somebody when it dings, it’s ready. *heads for the front door* Leaving now.
Desiree: *frowns even more* I can’t even come with you..? *sighs, feeling resigned. She then moves over to sit down at the kitchen table* Overreacting elf..
Kalysto: Overreacting? Am I really? *scowls* Do you even know what you did? I was helping you and you fucked around with me. You took advantage of me for the purpose of silly entertainment for yourself. Tch. *moves outside, walking away from the house* *”Come if you want. I don’t care.”* *whistles loudly into the air. After a few moments, his Nether Drake sails down from the abyss, landing, patiently waiting to be flown off*
Desiree: No, what I did wasn’t just purely for a joke. I wanted you to see that I can do things without messing them up. That I’m actually good at some things, because I’ve tried, practiced, and took risks! *perks up as he states that she can come with him. She then stands up and moves after him*
Kalysto: *hops on the back of the dragon and sets himself down in the saddle, watching Desiree walk out towards him. He offers her a hand and waits for her to climb on with him* Alright, hold on tight. The island isn’t too far away by dragon wings, but this one is known for his acrobatics.
Desiree: *chuckles* Is anything far away by dragon wings? *she pats the side of the nether drake* This guy moves quite fast. *She grins before leaning in to wrap her arms about Kalysto’s waist*
Kalysto: *rides the dragon across Mideel and soon, over the large expanse of ocean. If nothing is said, the trip would be mostly done in silence. After a time, he sails over the island and begins to head for the north side, his attention down on the ground. He lands the dragon at the edge of clearing adjacent to sparse woody-like area, paying particular attention to a newly built hut that has gone up. He attempts to hop off the drake, then glances back at Desiree before heading for the hut* No funny business.
Desiree: *keeps her head lowered, using Kalysto’s larger size to try to block out the winds as the dragon soars. However, she still ends up shivering by the end of the trip. So, she is slow to remove her hands as Kalysto slips off the dragon. She then mumbles* Yes… *sighing, she slides off the dragon as well, though she’s quite stiff*
