Reno: Then talk to her, yo. *Shrugs* You aren’t going to get any good out of sitting here and moping about. Well, you will get me annoyed, but then I’ll just go hit the bar tonight and use you as an excuse. *Grins*
Desiree: *nods then turns on the water at the sink* Well, give me a few of those things. I’ll start washing them off.
Sephiroth: I think I need to do that some time in the near future… *sighs angrily, then slides out of his chair* Farewell. We shall talk again. Thank you for not being available during the emergency cleanup. *grunts irritably, then walks out of the building, heading for the town again*
Kalysto: *attempts to hand her the sack he acquired* Take this. If any are chipped, don’t use them.
Reno: *yells out to Sephiroth* Yo, my job is reconnaissance and stuff like that, not cleaning-up. Cleaning-up is for clean-up crews!
Desiree: *nods at Kalysto* Ok, let’s see what we can do, hm? *Grins at him. Soon after , she begins to scrub down the various glass vials and tubs in order to get them as clean as possible*
Sephiroth: *slowly wanders across town, heading for Desiree and Kalysto’s house. He walks up to the front door and lightly knocks on it, stepping back incase the door opens outwards and smacks into him*
Kalysto: You will need to change the water a few times, these are putrid. And they will need to soak in disinfectant.
Desiree: *glances at the water that is building up in the sink then cringes at the colors that its becoming* Yea… I would definitely agree there. *Shakes her head* At least there’s hope of cleaning these things. *She then looks up as she hears the knocking* Were you expecting visitors?
Kalysto: Huh? Visitors? *shakes his head* No I wasn’t expecting any visitors… *glances at the door* Should I answer it, or you?
Sephiroth: *hears the muffled voices inside, but does nothing except wait patiently*
Desiree: Well… My hands are completely rancid. Can you answer it, Kalysto? I’ll be right behind you.. *she sets aside the few tubes that she’s finished cleaning. She then begins to scrub off her hands*
Kalysto: Sure, sure…. *steps out of the kitchen and opens the door, looking quite awkward as he sees Sephiroth outside* H… hi. There. *becomes silent, looking even more awkwards* W-would you, um. Like to come in?
Sephiroth: *nods his head* Of course. *steps into the house, narrowing his eyes lightly at the rank odour from the bottles* What is that?
Desiree: *moves into the living room, drying her hands as she walks. At first, she is busy looking down at her hands. However, she soon glances up and jumps in surprise as she spots Sephiroth* F-Father.. We weren’t expecting you..
Sephiroth: No, I’m sure you weren’t. I actually came here to speak with you. May I have a word in private? *glances at the sink* I am not sure where you obtained those, but they do not smell very healthy do they?
Desiree: *Glances at Kalysto then at Sephiroth before deeply frowning* I’m certain that anything that you have to say to me can be said in front of Kalysto. *she nods at the elf* What is it that you want, Father? *glances back at the kitchen* Yea.. We haven’t cleaned them yet. We just got them from.. Well, we stole them from Hojo.
Sephiroth: I see…. *sighs, glancing at the elf, then at Desiree* I just wanted to talk to you alone, but very well…. *pauses hesitantly* You did not inform me that you got married.
Kalysto: *drops the spherical flask he was drying* What?
Desiree: *stares at Sephiroth then tilts her head. A clueless expression soon crossing her face* Married? Umm… What exactly does that mean? I’m don’t think I’m familiar with the concept.. Father. *Shakes her head* Whatever it is, I can’t possibly be married for I don’t know what it is.
Sephiroth: *grunts at her, shaking his head* How can you not know? Did you not move out of my house with this male and move in here to live a new life together? *pauses, shaking his head, attempting to fight against his rising anger and frustration* If you’re not married… why did you take his last name as your own?
Desiree: *blinks* Umm.. yea.. But.. What’s married? *looks at Kalysto* Are we married? *She then frowns at Sephiroth* How do you know about that? *shakes her head* Hrmph.. They wouldn’t let me fill out my real name, which had no last name. I had to pick something, and I wans’t going to pick “Hojo”.
Kalysto: *sputters a bit before grabbign a broom and dustpan to sweep up the shattered glass* Married? No, of course not! *quickly shakes his head* I’m not even 21 yet. I can’t enter into something like that even if I wanted to.
Sephiroth: They? Who’s they?
Desiree: The people at the health clinic. *crosses her arms* They told me that I had to have a last name to make the forms legal. So, I filled one out. *Snorts then moves over to help Kalysto* I still don’t know what you think I am..
Kalysto: Married is, um. Like this. But it’s an actual binding ritual. Like a handfastening, or blood-brothering. Two come together, and they vow to be united and loyal to each other for all time and to forsake all others. You should watch more TV and see weddings in soap operas. My mom used to like going to them, even if she didnt know the couple. She would conjure snowflakes to rain down on them.
Sephiroth: *grunts* The only addition I have to make is that here, marriage comes with a legal binding document also.
Desiree: *looks up at Kalysto as he explains marriage to her. She then looks up at Sephiroth then shakes her head* I’m definitely not married, Father. I’m sorry that you thought that, but the two of us are just living together. That’s it.
Desiree: Yes, that’s what I just said. *frowns at him* LIke I said, I didn’t want to take up the name Hojo.. *cringes at the very thought* His last name sounded much better. *nods to Kalysto. Then, she narrows her eyes at Sephiroth* And he had nothing to do with it either.
Desiree: *sighs as she watches Seph turn around. She then bites her lip in thought before softly speaking out* If you want.. Father.. Well, that is if Kalysto is ok with it. You can stay for dinner.
Kalysto: *looks at Desiree, then at Sephiroth* I… uhhh… *tries to read Desiree’s expression again* if you’re fine with it, I am. I mean, there’s nobody else to eat the food. *quickly glances at Sephiroth again* *”What are we going to feed him?”*
