Kalysto: *”Our lifespan is about 350 years, but I’ll probably blow myself up long before then. Alchemy is risky business you know. But with soulstones and elixirs of life, I should be fine for a good number of years until something major happens.
Desiree: ~I swore that elves lived a lot longer than just that…~ *Shakes her head and finishes putting the diaper on Milena* ~I suppose it doesn’t matter much. I’m going to return to being boring and cleaning.~ *moves further into the house to look around*
Jenna: *rests up until a bit after noon. Upon finally waking up for good, she goes outside and watches the clean-up for a few brief minutes before heading off toward the woods*
Sephiroth: *is standing out in the middle of the town, directing small groups of soldiers through the area, scowling at the slowness of the entire operation* Put your back into it! Come on, this has to be clean before the end of the day.
Jenna: *is less than concerned about Seph’s location at all. Instead, she continues to move away from the town and into the forest*
Kalysto: *”So do you like this house, before I actually commit to a huge loan?”* *glances at the roof, then out of the window, watching Jenna move* *”It seems structurally sound. It’s totally not the kind of architecture I am used to though.”* *sends Desiree images of the buildings in Quel’thalas, and the house he used to live in when his family was still around. Then he sends her images of Zulmire’s house in Sen’jin village* *”Humans always follow this architecture type. I’m not sure why.”* *”Where’s your mother going?”* *sends pictures of her too*
Desiree: ~I don’t know about you making a big loan on this place. I mean.. that’s kinda why I was suggesting to just steal it. But it seems like a stable house.~ *she then tilts her head at Kalysto’s imagery* ~Where is my mother going? Why would I know that?~
Kalysto: *”I don’t know why you would know that. But I asked anyway. And you don’t know the answer, so fine. It doesn’t matter.”* *moves off the seat and peers outside, watching Jenna walk into the forest. He walks to the end of the property and follows her* *”Stay around. I’ll be back.”*
Jenna: *stops once she feels that she is far enough away from the town and the soldiers to be noticed. After a moment, she opens up a portal to Earth; however, she pauses for a moment as she considers over whether it is a smart idea for her to travel via portal while pregnant. After a moment, she decides to throw caution into the wind and opens up a portal to Earth anyway. She then carefully steps through*
Kalysto: *keeps on Jenna’s lead, being quiet as he stays behind her. When she opens the portal, he seems rather intrigued by the way she cast the spell, then quickly dashes ahead as the portal closes after she steps through, hissing loudly as the portal closes off on his cape, ripping the end of it* Shit… *looks up at Jenna, wondering if she has already noticed him or not yet*
Jenna: *was checking herself over for any major damage when Kalysto exits the portal. She then blinks and looks back before frowning at him* What are you doing? *Shaking her head, she moves forward to a series of runes before working on hitting them in the correct sequence to give her access to the dragon council’s chambers*
Kalysto: I, er…. I tripped? *looks at her with a wide nervous grin, then dusts off his robe* I tripped. *nods* And then I fell through your portal. I just happened to be in the same area as you. Somehow. *mumbles* Yeah, that’ll do…
Jenna: *narrows her eyes at Kalysto as he speaks* I hope you realize that I am no fool. *shakes her head* No matter, you are here now. Hrmph… Don’t cause me any problems. *She finishes the sequence then steps back as the runes light up with magic. Soon enough, the rocks shift and open up to give her passage to the chambers inside*
Kalysto: Phh, like hell I would. You’re going to thank me for coming along after this shit is over. *follows her down into the passage* By the way, what are you actually doing? I thought you were going to do some magic in the forest or something. I wanted to learn something new.
Jenna: *narrows her eyes* Then you thought wrong. *looks at him* I am here to see if I can gather employment for special compensation. If I want to get any form of magical objects again, I need to either wait a very long time, steal, or do something honestly. At least this choice will keep both me and Seph happy. *She looks up as she reaches the central chamber used for meetings by the dragons*
Kalysto: Wait.. what? *narrows his eyes, not understanding what Jenna’s is talking about* You said some words… and they were in common-speak, but I still don’t understand what you are getting at. Simplify it in eight words or less – why are you here?
Jenna: Work for dragons and get magic trinkets. That do it for you? *she moves into the middle of the room then crosses her arms* Lazy bastards… *taps her foot as she considers how to get the dragons’ attention*
*a rather large ebony coloured male sits idly, picking at his gold flecked scales. When he hears Jenna tapping her foot, he snorts a lungful of black smoke into the air, rising to sit up properly* You. What do you want…?
Kalysto: Yeah. I guess…
Jenna: *closes her eyes as the smoke is sent her way. However, she remains stiff and tries not to react to the act at all. Instead, she opens her eyes after a moment then turns to face the dragon* Ah, so one of you is here. Good. *she looks at the dragon* I am need of books, trinkets and the like to further my mystical studies.
*Meanwhile, a red dragon with feathered wings moves up behind the duo, but he doesn’t say anything as he enters the chambers. Instead, he sits on his haunches, trying to remain in the shadows, and watches the scene*
*the ebony scaled male bobbed his giant horned head, nearly crashing them against the ceiling because of his size. While one might normally be in awe of a dragon this size, he just looks clumsy and oversized in the space available* Books. Trinkets. Such frivolous things.
Jenna: Well, then, perhaps if they are so frivolous to you, I may have them without anything in return? *glances up at the ceiling as the dragon nearly hits its head* Hmmm…
*the ebony dragon flickers his frills, then sits back down, clicking his toe claws on the ground below* Oh that’s a good one, small human. *lowers his head towards her, his pupiless pearl-coloured eyes unblinking as he stares at her* Not a human. *rumbles* And neither is the male. *shakes his head* What are you expecting to learn from a book or a trinket? *scratches his underbelly, then pulls a scale off his flank, handing it down to her* You may as well use this.
Kalysto: Books, eh…? I wonder if dragons keep guides to the demon realm…
Jenna: *smirks as she looks over the scale* Isn’t that an unwise thing to do, hm? An experienced caster can do very- how should I put this- *reaches out to take the scale* -dastardly things with any given body part. *as she says this, she taps her claws against the surface of the scale*
*The red dragon releases a soft rumble at the exchange of words in front of him* Yes, tainted blood’s blood is very tainted.
*the ebony dragon rumbles back at the sound behind him* Be quiet. *snorts at Jenna’s words, sending large plumes of ashy black smoke around the area* With your level of magic and my size, you can do nothing in terms of imperiosus-magic. You know this to be true.
Jenna: Hrmph, you are lucky that I am not in the mood to meet your challenge there. *with that, she tosses the scale behind her then glances at Kalysto* Hm, so you want books as well? *Shrugs* If you do not wish to hire me for something so that I can obtain what I want, can you at least let me know where any useful materials may be.
Quetzitohl: *grunts at the darker dragon’s words* Do not tell me to be silent. You are barely old enough to be worthy of setting paw in this room. *He then turns his attention to Jenna* Why should we send out a pregnant mercenary for anything?
Kalysto: I had a pile of books. A literal bookcase. Necromancy, Warlockery, Alchemy… fuck, I even had a Gastronomy book that was full of great recipes. But I don’t have any of that any more… and I feel that my own study advancement has gone stale. All I am doing is reiterating what I already know when I teach Desiree. So… if I could either get those books back, or get new ones, I would be happy.
