Desiree: *blinks then nervously glances at Kalysto* For the record, I was only conversing. I have nothing to do with anything here. *She shakes her head and shrugs*
Kalysto: *flicks his ears back at Desiree, then scowls and lowers his head* I told you before, I don’t want this kind of responsibility. *glares at Zulmire* I didn’t ask for this – I didn’t even have a choice! *picks Milena up and dumps her back in his lap, rising to his feet* I thought you had changed your stance on this crap, but you’re just as stubborn as ever. Haven’t you been bitching about the loss of your son since he was kiled? Take the opportunity to replace him, at least!
Zulmire: *growls angrily* Don’t you be bringin’ Voljez into this. An’… replacement? Have you even got yer head screwed on properly, elf? Nuttin’ acts as a replacement – nuttin’ ever will. That not even be why I be pickin’ her up in da first place!
Desiree: *Frowns at the argument that is going on around her. She then silently moves in to scoop up Milena* Shh.. Let’s go to someplace more.. peaceful, hm? *She then slips out of the tent to leave the two men alone. Once outside, she heads over to the fire and plops down in front of it*
Milena: *makes an uncertain squeaking noise at Desiree, at least until she sees the fire. She seems entranced by it and gets close enough to nearly stick her beak into it, chirping at it. She waves a paw at it, seeming relatively unaffected by the heat of the flames*
Kalysto: *continues his arguing* You know the only reason she’s alive is because you heated that stupid egg up, right? I would have let it go cold! Yeah, that’s right.
Zulmire: *growls* Don’t do this, Ka-leesto. You be making a beeg mistake. I’m not gonna be forcin’ you to take her, but at least consider the idea. Even for… a few days a week. Jus’ let her get to know you. Make her be knowin’ she had a father who acceptin’ her. *shakes his head*
Kalysto: Stuff it, old man. *growls* Hey, I have an idea – she looks nothing like me. Why don’t you lie to her? *folds his arms* I don’t want to have anything do with this shit. *steps out of the tent and begins to walk away from the campsite*
Desiree: *chuckles at Milena as she begins to stick her hand into the fire. She’s not too concerned, since she can see that the girl isn’t harming herself. However, she frowns as she hears the fight in the tent. Sighing, she lowers her head* Leaving you like he’s doing isn’t right.. Not right at all.
Milena: *wanders back over to Desiree with a blackened paw, mostly due to the fact rising ash has settled on her scales. She shows Desiree the paw and chirps before attempting to gently mark her clothes with paw prints, not seeming to understand the situation at all*
Zulmire: *wanders out of the tent, watching Kalysto walk away. He hesitates, before waving a hand at him* Aheehhh… *sits down near Desiree and sighs* Don’t know how to make that kid do anythin’ he doesn’t want to. Eef he doesn’t get his way, he behaves much like a spoiled brat. *grunts and hunches his back, staring into the fire* So how do you do eet, lady?
Desiree: *cringes slightly as the soot is smeared onto her clothes. She then releases a deep sigh* I sure hope that can be laundered out.. *She then glances at Zulmire* How do I do what? What is it that I am supposed to have done?
Zulmire: You not hear statement? Ka-leesto does nothing he doesn’t want to do. I guessin’ you can make him comply wif things he don’t wanna do sometimes. Yes? If so, how you do eet? What’s the secret?
Desiree: *Frowns and lowers her head to think for a bit. After a moment, she shakes her head* No, I don’t think you’re right there. I’ve hardly ever been able to convince him to do anything that he doesn’t really want to do. *Sighs and looks at Milena. She then looks at Zulmire* I’ll talk to him. *she picks up the girl then moves to follow after Kalysto*
Kalysto: *has moved south of the campsite and is now sitting on a displaced rock overhanging the edge of a beach. He stares at the ocean and occaisonally looks down at his hand to ignite the air above it, closing the palm again, repeating the process*
Desiree: *silently moves in behind Kalysto. Upon finding him. she sneaks over then sits down next to him* Hey…
Kalysto: What do you want? *looks back at her, then turns his head away* Oh. You brought it with you. Just great. I suppose you’re going to try and preach why I need to take it with me, too?
Desiree: *shakes her head* No, I’m not going to preach anything to you, Kalysto. *she leans forward then sets down Milena in front of Kalysto* I know you never wanted her. I understand why you don’t like the way she came to pass… *she frowns and pats the top of the girl’s head* ~This here is your father.~ *She nods to Kalysto*
Milena: *makes a soft uncertain chirping noise, then lowers her head, suddenly shy, staying rather still*
Kalysto: Yeah, yeah… *rolls his eyes* So what’s your point? *glares down at the youngster and pokes at her shoulder, unimpressed* What do you want me to do about it?
Desiree: What I want doesn’t really matter in this case. However, shouldn’t what she wants matter for something? *She shrugs* She is a living, intelligent being… Who’s growing like crazy. *shrugs at the last comment* ~You know what a father is, right?~ *Frowns then sends her a mental impression of the relationship that is meant to occur between Milena and Kalysto*
Milena: *sends her a very weak telepathic reply, mostly containing a picture of Zulmire, as well as what he does, mimicing much the same impression that she had sent to her in the first place*
Kalysto: Yeah, so what? What I want matters too, right? *scowls* I don’t want this kind of responsibility right now. I didnt ask for it to happen, and I had no choice whether I wanted it or not.
Desiree: *Sighs at Kalysto* Yes, you’ve said that several a time. As I said, I know why you don’t want to be with her… *she then pats Milena’s head and frowns* Please, watch over her for a moment. I want to tend to something. *She then gets up and quickly moves into the jungle*
Kalysto: *sighs* Alright. *picks up the small girl and sets her in his lap. He watches her every movement and rolls his eyes as she begins to fuss. He opens a hand and begins trying to entertain her with fire, flicking his hand open, setting the air above his hand on fire, closing the palm again*
Milena: Ooo… *tries to paw at the fire that keeps forming and dissapearing in the strange man’s hand, wanting to know how and why it’s doing that*
Desiree: *Wanders away into the woods. As she moves away, she mutters under her breath* He’s so going to yell at me for this. *glances back the way she came and sighs* It’s probably the best way though. *she then sits down in a clearing. Before doing anything else, she does a brief scan over Kalysto and Milena, checking to see if he’s changed his mind any*
Kalysto: *is vaguely considering the idea of taking Milena with him, but most of his thoughts run along the lines of self-doubt, and also the fact that she would be better off in the hands of somebody else. He keeps entertaining the thoughts of self-doubt and so is leaning more towards letting Zulmire keep her and raise her*
Desiree: *sighs* Yep, he’s going to yell at me.. But I am certain I can do this. *looks around, trying to make certain no one is near her. She then uses the window to the future spell she used before in addition to a summoning spell to try to pull the future Kalysto that she had spied on to her location*
Future Kalysto: *seems a little confused as he is pulled to the current location. He merely shakes his head as he looks at Desiree, running a hand through his greying hair to smooth it back* Oh my. *moves towards her, reaching out to grasp her hand* You look like an angel. *glances around* Has this time come already? Goodness, well… yes… *sniffs, stepping back from her* I already know why I’m here, yes?
Desiree: *Stares at Kalysto as he speaks to her* You’re comparing me to an angel? *frowns, wondering if she pulled the right guy. She then sighs and shakes her head* I just need you to talk to yourself. I’m certain if anyone can get through you-his.. umm… right… well, his thick skull, it’s you.
Future-Kalysto: *nods his head slowly* You know you’re breaking the laws of space and time though, right? *glances off in the other direction, seeming to already know where Kalysto is. He strokes at his beard, humming* If you don’t want me to interact with him, let her stay with him a week. He’s already thinking about it if I remember rightly… *stops, thinking* You really wish for me to talk to myself, my sweet angel? *glances back at her, sighing happily* I had forgotten how young you looked…
Desiree: *Scratches the back of her head, not certain what to make out of this Kalysto. She then shakes her head, deciding to set aside her confusion and doubt* Yea… well, convincing him to stay with her for a week is a problem. It’s near to impossible. And yes, I know that I’m breaking time and space, but you should know that my mother does that all the fucking time.
