Jenna slowly slid out of Sephiroth’s grip as he teleported them to the area where the portal was. After a few moments of glaring at the portal and analyzing the energies, she shook her head.
“There’s something preventing it from closing from the other side. However, I can stabilize it to insure that it won’t spread or cause more damage. I’d just suggest keeping this area guarded..”
February 7, 2011 at 5:53 pm #50378Kat AclysmKeymasterAt the comment of ‘guarding’, Rhyderi was very quick to volunteer. He held his sword up for a brief moment, then turned his back, paying attention to his surroundings so he could keep guard.
Sephiroth simply stepped aside so Jenna could do her thing. After a few moments of silence, a golden and red winged-mailbox was suddenly flung through the rift, skittering across the sidewalk, spewing it’s contents over the ground.
“Holy shit,” Kalysto frowned. “Now we’re going to get into trouble for defacing property too.”
February 7, 2011 at 5:56 pm #50379SeferiaKeymasterJenna snorted as she weaved the spells to insure that the portal would not destabalize and threaten anything by existing, at the least. Once that was done, she nodded toward the others.
“I would suggest you all go home now. There’s no point in you standing around with your children, elf. This may as well be considered a permanent fixture here now.
Oh, and Blondie.. You might want to turn around. You’d want to defend us against anything that may come out of that portal.”
Meanwhile, Desiree yelped as the mailbox flung to the ground. So, she reached in to grab her children, for she was more than happy to follow her mother’s advice.
February 8, 2011 at 3:23 am #50380Kat AclysmKeymasterKalysto frowned. “You mean… the portal isn’t going to go away?” He shook his head. “No offense… but I don’t want a permanent portal fixture to Silvermoon in the middle of the place where I live. Build something around it. Turn it into an outhouse.”
Rhyderi sighed. “I will keep guard. But I am not going to kill another fellow elf.”
February 8, 2011 at 3:26 am #50381SeferiaKeymasterJenna sighed at the complaints before she shook her head. “Just do whatever is necessary. Seph, if you have to, have those idiots in the space ship come up with a security system. Whatever you need to do…”
Jenna then smirked at Rhyderi, “I’m certain the Kalysto from that ship would love to work with blondie again.”
February 8, 2011 at 5:59 am #50382Kat AclysmKeymasterRhyderi frowned at the prospect of meeting the other Kalysto again. He shook his head and stood near the portal, standing guard. “I’ll make sure nothing comes out of it…” He hissed. “And I’m not blond. I have the same fiery hair genes as my parents.”
Kalysto took the lead, guiding his children back to the house. “Don’t want a permanent portal to hell…”
February 8, 2011 at 6:01 am #50383SeferiaKeymaster“Your hair is the coloration normally referred to as cherry blond, Blondlie,” Jenna clarified. “Hence, Blondie.”
Jenna then glanced at Sephiroth. “I still suggest having that elf from the space-faring ship design something to assist in defending and fortifying this spot. He seems to be rather smart when it comes to machines.”
February 8, 2011 at 6:16 am #50384Kat AclysmKeymaster“I’m not blonde,” Rhyderi huffed in annoyance, “It’s fiery red hair. Well, OK, maybe a little bit blonde, but… it’s more red than blonde.”
Sephiroth nodded his head. “We need to build something around it. Perhaps a platform, a box, or… even a small building.” He sighed, slowly shaking his head. “Can’t you make it go away at all?” He suddenly side-stepped as a bent lamp-post and some rocks came crashing through the portal. “Are they… throwing things through it?”
February 8, 2011 at 6:18 am #50385SeferiaKeymasterJenna cocked her eyebrow as she watched the items fly out of the portal. She then shrugged, for she honestly was baffled.
“I cannot say. However, I would dare say that is what is happening. Either way… Yes, I can’t close it. It won’t tear apart this are or harm anything. So, just get something to protect the area set-up. Now, can we go home?”
February 8, 2011 at 6:28 am #50386Kat AclysmKeymasterSephiroth sighed. “Yes, you can go home. I have this mess to get sorted out now. As if I didn’t have enough to worry about.” He glanced around the area, pondering. “Do you need an escort home again? I need to get this area secured, but you are my first priority.”
February 8, 2011 at 6:33 am #50388SeferiaKeymaster“Yes, I’d appreciate a trip home, Seph,” Jenna replied. “I honestly don’t feel like walking across town. It is a very long walk from here..”
Jenna frowned as she glanced down at her swollen abdomen, not really wanting to explain much further.
February 8, 2011 at 6:55 am #50387Kat AclysmKeymasterSephiroth nodded in response. He moved to step behind Jenna, cuddling her posessively. When he was sure he had her properly in his arms, he teleported the pair of them back to the Master bedroom of their house, nodding. “Go back to bed.” He instructed her. “Lie down and stay off your feet. It won’t be long now, surely.”
February 8, 2011 at 7:01 am #50389SeferiaKeymaster“Seph, I’m only two thirds of the way through this. There is still a few more months to go. So… I suppose it is your opinion on whether that is “not long” or not,” Jenna commented as she slipped away from Sephiroth so that she could rest in bed. “Thank you, my love.”
Thus, as Jenna predicted, she remained very much pregnant and swolen for the following two and a half months. By the time that her water broke, it was well into fall. At that time, she was indulging some of her children by watching a sports broadcast with them, mostly because she could think of no good reason to say no. However, she abruptly got up off the couch as she felt moistness in her lower area.
Upon determining that her water had indeed broken, Jenna called out for her husband and Zach, so that they could prepare for her labor.
Meanwhile, Desiree had began to swell up as well, for she was reaching six to seven months in her pregnancy. Still, she did her best to keep up with Kalysto’s business as her pregnancy progressed. She also helped him experiment with his new potions, when she knew they wouldn’t blow up on her.
As for the portal, Noemi had no qualms about allowing the Sub-Lt assist the earth-bound members of Mideel in designing a defence for the area. So, she shuttled both him and his brother to the city below so that they could be stationed there while the engineer worked on whatever system he saw fit.
February 8, 2011 at 7:30 am #50390Kat AclysmKeymasterSub-Lt Kalysto was standing near the portal, overseeing operations. While Rhyderi stood guard, his actual brother of the same name was standing nearby, constructing parts for the portal casing. They had decided to go with a small inconspicuous house-like structure to go around it which could be kept locked and opened only if need-be, and now that the foundations were laid, it was only a matter of building the rest.
Kalysto kept himself busy, selling new potions and fun potions at his store. He had also hired three more people, and had begun organizing extensions to the shop building. When he was at home, he had decided to show Desiree some basic alchemy, but had also left the Warlockery books with her in order to help her better comprehend the complicated spells surrounding the art of demons and dark energy manipulation.
Sephiroth was in the house when Jenna called out for him. He was rather quick to head to her side in order to assist. Once Zach was there also, he decided to have Jenna moved to the spare bedroom downstairs so she could get off her feet.
“Do you want to go to the hospital…?” Sephiroth frowned. He knew Jenna’s hatred of them, but he thought it might be best in this particular situation. It wasn’t every day that a woman gave birth to triplets.
February 8, 2011 at 2:25 pm #50391SeferiaKeymaster“Yes, we probably should go to the hospital,” Jenna agreed with her husband. “I don’t know how long this will take, but I’d rather have this done properly.”
Jenna hissed in irritation as a contraction hit her, but she knew it was only one of many. So, she did her best to ignore it. She also ignored Seph’s apprehension, for he always thought she hated hospitals. That was never quite true. She hated unnecessary activities, which is what the hospital usually was to her. She also knew that Seph actually did hate hospitals. So, she normally avoided them for his sake as much as hers. However, she did need a doctor right now, and it wasn’t an unnecessary element.
February 8, 2011 at 6:26 pm #50392Kat AclysmKeymasterSephiroth sighed in resignation. He didn’t particularly want to take Jenna to the hospital, but the situation seemed too serious for him to dabble around and debate such things. When Jenna agreed, he nodded at her – that made the descision easy.
“Well, we don’t need to rush it.” He stated. “These things usually take hours.” He glanced at Zach, “Run ahead and tell them to set up a room for us. When that is done, I shall teleport Jenna inside directly, no use in walking and fussing.”
Zach nodded, and abruptly left.
“These things take a long time…” He sighed. “Lie down and rest while you can.”
February 8, 2011 at 6:28 pm #50393SeferiaKeymaster“Heh..,” Jenna attempted to laugh at Sephiroth’s reassurances. “That is an easy one for you to say, Seph. However, you don’t have to go through this pain. No, I think I’d rather walk for a bit and get my mind off these annoyances.”
Thus, Jenna pushed herself up right so that she could at least pace around the room while she waited to be taken to the hospital.
February 8, 2011 at 7:53 pm #50394Kat AclysmKeymaster“Don’t forget so easily,” Sephiroth frowned at Jenna, “I have dealt with it before. There was one less to deal with, but I have been in the same position as you before.” He grunted. “At least you are not saying that I do not know what it is like.”
He watched her pace, taking a seat at the edge of the bed himself. He looked stressed out, but didn’t say anything about it. “Zach will let us know soon.”
February 8, 2011 at 8:55 pm #50395SeferiaKeymaster“Hrmph…,” Jenna grunted as she paused in her pacing to look back at Sephiroth. “Yes, I remember that incident. I also remember that you were basically completely out of your mind during that time. I’d be surprised if you have any clear memory of those months. Still… Yes, I know you know what it is like… sadly.”
Jenna quickly shook her head as she resumed her pacing around the room. “It shouldn’t take long for a room to be set up…”
February 9, 2011 at 1:14 am #50396Kat AclysmKeymaster“No, it shouldn’t take long.” Sephiroth echoed her comment, wanting to keep her calmed. “Zach is usually quite reasonable with the group over there. They’ll find you a room shortly, I’m sure of it.” He sighed, leaning back to lie on the bed. “I informed them of this some weeks ago. They should already be prepared for it… it’s only a matter of time.”
February 9, 2011 at 1:18 am #50397SeferiaKeymaster“Yes, they’ve known for quite some time when my due date was. And there’s not that many pregnant women on the island that are due at this time… So, it should take them no time to set up. Not to mention, I’m your wife,” Jenna confirmed. “That means they will give me priority just because of that fact.”
February 9, 2011 at 6:58 am #50398Kat AclysmKeymasterSephiroth nodded his head. “Yes, you will certainly get priority. Unless there is a heart-attack victim or something similar.” He began to idly fidget with his fingers, scowling at how nervous and edgy he felt right now.
“Any time now…” He hissed.
February 9, 2011 at 7:02 am #50399SeferiaKeymaster“Heh,” Jenna chuckled at Sephiroth’s sentiments. “I doubt even that. Usually, those are two different wards. So, there should be no issues there”
Jenna then paused in her pacing as she noticed Sephiroth’s nervousness. So, she moved over to him before she gripped onto his hands. “Hey, I’m the one that’s supposed to be worked up, not you.”

Meanwhile, in the house of Sol’thenan, Desiree was relaxing on the couch and reading one of the warlock training books. As she read her book, she gently scratched the back of her husband’s head.
February 9, 2011 at 7:22 am #50400Kat AclysmKeymasterKalysto was happy to be home. He didn’t miss his old hometown at all whatsoever, and was just enjoying Desiree’s closeness for now. When the back of his head was scratched, a very content grin spread across his face.
“I’m not a cat, you know…” He mumbled, despite the fact he was enjoying the situation. His ears tilted back slightly, expressing just how much he liked the gesture.
–
Sephiroth sighed at Jenna, slowly nodding his head in response. “Yes, I know. But I cannot help it I suppose.” He sighed. “I just want this to go well.”
February 9, 2011 at 7:25 am #50401SeferiaKeymasterDesiree paused in her reading to give her husband a grin. “No, you’re not a feline in the least. However, I like the feel of your hair and you like the feel of my fingers. I think it is a very effective way for us to combine our likes, hm?”
As Desiree returned to her book, she released a slight gasp. “Well, your child just kicked me,” she hummed out.
–
Jenna leaned in to kiss the tip of Sephiroth’s nose. “Yes, I understand. However, your nerves aren’t going to help. Think of this as a battlefield, hm? Would your troops want to see a frazzled commander?”
