Kalysto: I wonder what they’ll think of me then. I smell like tainted high-elf, and even moreso because where my magic threads were sewn. *stops suddenly as a burning arrow whizzes through the air and strikes the ground inches from Kalysto’s feet* Yep… *sighs*
Jenna: *glances up toward the trees where the arrow came from. She then sighs and shakes her head* Hrmph, violence to deter. How… Hrm.. I can’t think of the proper english word. *shrugs then firmly speaks out in the version of Evlish that she’s usually found on Earth* “Be still and cease your attacks. I imply wish amnesty to rest and perhaps dine.”
Kalysto: *stares at Jenna, then shrugs* That’s a different dialect to what I’m used to…. I’m glad you know how to talk to these people. *pulls the arrow out of the ground so he can look it over* Not very good craftsmanship.
Jenna: Don’t expect much of anything, boy. Their people have been demoted to the lowest standings. They may have once been above humans, but the Christain crusades killed all but small clusters like these ones. To say the least, they’re poor. *she then moves closer toward where she believes the town is* “I can use an escort.”
Kalysto: *flicks his ears back* Somebody is nearby. Just a warning there, lady. *stops suddenly, then turns around behind him, sending a massive blast-plume of fire into the bushes nearby* No. Just a rat. Tch. *follows Jenna ahead* You’re going in the right direction, but I see no buildings. Perhaps they are underground?
Jenna: *rolls her eyes* You are an elf. So, please, do tell me, what elf is not claustrophobic? What elf would ever live underground. *shakes her head and sighs* Oh, I should say it’s safe for you to remove that hood of yours. *continues to move forward then stops to sniff the air* We’re getting closer.
Kalysto: Fine… *moves his hood back and shakes his head, rubbing a hand through his hair before relaxing his ears high on his head. He flicks them a bit before continuing onwards* Yea, we are. I can hear them now. *glances around himself* They’re all around us. There’s some in the trees, guarding or something.
Jenna: Most likely, guarding an illusion. *narrows her eyes in thought* Heh, yes, most likely just that. *She then spreads her wings and attempts to make the elf village appear by casting a spell that is meant to disrupts illusions. Hence, a wave of energy would soon move through the area*
Kalysto: *shakes his head* What good do you think that’s going to do? Even I could see th—*blinks as the illusion fades, revealing many wooden shacks and cheap brick houses which dot the forest floor* Well I’ll be damned. Not even I could see that magic illusion…
*one of the elves working nearby makes a loud yelling sound as the veil dissapears* Hey, what do you think you’re doing!? *stomps over to Jenna, still carrying his axe* We don’t allow outsiders here.
Jenna: *rolls her eyes* Yes, yes, I know how much all of you do not want humans around. However, as a representative of Halcyon, I evoke the right to amnesty. I desire rest and food. *she then tries to move past the male*
*the male becomes frustrated at Jenna’s passing, then quickly turns on Kalysto, raising his axe, waving it about in a threatening manner before placing the blade within inches of his face* You’re not one of us. You’re an outsider. We don’t want you here!
Kalysto: *raises a hand to the axe, lightly nudging it out of the way* I’m with her.
Jenna: Indeed, attacking him will incur the wrath of Halcyon, who is closely aligned with the dragon council. Do you wish to have such trouble to your town? Would your elder approve of such actions, hm?
*the male lowers his axe again, grumbling in his native tongue* “The foreign elf stinks… he’s going to bring ruin to us all, I can tell. Damn foreigners…” *walks back to his chopping block*
Kalysto: Sheesh. *follows Jenna ahead* I think I am going to have to stay close to you. These people probably want to take my head off because of my differences. You know, longer ears, stink.. *sighs* *”We need to find the elder anyway.”*
Jenna: ~Well, I did just invoke a diplomatic right. I am certain this elder will come to us soon.~ *glances over the town then shakes her head* My, how the mighty do fall hard… Hrmph.
Aedwyn: *watches the newcomers from his home that is located next to one of the largest trees. Shaking his head, he grumbles* More strangers… *moves away from the window so that he can retrieve his waking cane and move out of his house and meet up with the two newcomers*
Kalysto: Did this species used to have a bright shining city or something? Seems like a shame to kill them off. Unless they were naive bastards who totally deserved it or had it coming to them. In which case, I would just laugh.
Jenna: Dragons, elves, centaurs, so on…. All species that were “of the devil” were hunted down to near extinction a few centuries ago. Humans from all corners hunted down these species without remorse or concern for their position. Hence, only small clusters of any mystical species exist. Halcyon was one of them.
Aedwyn: *walks out toward Kalysto and Jenna then frowns at them* What do you two want with my people?
Kalysto: *glances at Jenna, then at the elf ahead of them. He moves down on one knee, bowing formally to the other before raising himself to his feet again* Help us. We are displaced persons. My…. partner and I were on Halcyon, and then an explosion there caused us to leave. We are homeless and destitute. We need a sanctuary to stay in. Please help us. *moves a hand onto Jenna’s shoulder* She carries an unborn child.
Jenna: *frowns at him* ~You do realize that for all intents and purposes, I’m the ruler of Halcyon.~ *sighs at Kalysto, her wings quivering a bit as he sets his arm about her shoulders. However, she soon fakes a smile and nods* Yes, we’ve been displaced for a bit and need someplace to rest.
Aedwyn: *eyes off Jenna’s wings and frowns. He then grunts* Very well, we do not have much, but we can give you room to rest for a short period of time.
Kalysto: *”So what, they’re more likely to buy a pregnant lady than the ruler of Halcyon coming to visit. They’d grant us amnesty that way.”* *smugly grins* *”See. I told you so.”* *bows to to Aedwyn* Thank you kindly for your understanding, good sir.
Jenna: ~Just get your task done quickly. I did not intend to stay away from home for this long.~ *she nods at the elderly elf* Which of these lovely houses can we stay in?
Aedwyn: I will not burden any my people with guests. You may stay in my house for a bit. Just respect our privacy. *he nods to the house where he came from. He then hobbles his way back to the house*
Kalysto: *”So what do I do, just sneak in there, all stealthy like, and stab him to death? Do I burn him? Do I drag him into the Nether with me and allow the demons to finish him off, thus meaning no evidence? How would you dispatch him?”*
Jenna: ~Me? Personally, I’d leave as little evidence as possible. I’d just give him a kiss of death or something like that.~ *shrugs* ~Do what tickles your fancy. this is your mission, not mine.~ *she then walks toward the house that was indicated. Soon enough, she settles herself down in a chair*
Kalysto: *steps inside of the house, then stretches* Oh what I wouldn’t give for a good meal right now… *glances around the house, then is quick to move to the stove, finding everything he needs to make tea. He practically wiggles with excitement as he begins to make it, humming happily to himself* *”I’ll work out something. For the time being, get comfortable. I’ll do him later on when everyone is sleeping.”*
Soon after Kalysto begins to cook, a scantily clad blond female elf moves into the kitchen. She frowns as she notices him then shakes her head. “You’re new around here. I’ve never seen an elf like you.”
Kalysto: *looks up at the woman when she speaks in the native elf language of the planet, then begins to make a loud purring noise at her* Sorry, but I don’t speak your tongue. I’m not from around here. *stirs the pot of tea, then begins to pour some for himself* Would you like some? I found regular tea leaves, and dried dandelion in here. It will make for an interesting cup.
