Zack: *sighs and shakes his head* Man, Sephy. You’re just too high strung for your own good sometimes. Lighten up. *finishes lathering up his spikes and begins to allow the water to rinse the suds away* Ah, that feels much better. No more sweat.
Sephiroth: Perhaps I am, but I still do not wish to be hassled or picked at. *growls as more of the boys move in, taking spots beside him in the showers. He quickly finishes washing himself off, then grabs up a towel and retreats to the locker area so he can promptly dry himself off and get out of there*
Zack: Oh, come on. You know that I am not picking at you. *finishes his shower not long after Sephiroth had stepped out of the showers. So, he gathers up his soap and shampoo then moves back over to his locker. Soon afterwards, he’s dried off and dressed* So, what do you think we’ll have for lunch today, Sephy?
Sephiroth: You’re already thinking about food? *frowns* I’ve no idea what they will choose to serve us for lunch, but guaranteed, it is probably going to be something lousy again, or the same old rubbish they normally try to feed us. Who knows, we won’t at least, until after the next classes. *grumbles to himself and quickly places his clothes back on after drying off, then heads outside again, looking around the area* Hurry up, spikehead. Unless you’d rather be late for class and end up cleaning toilets like the redheaded idiot.
Zack: Hey, chill already, Sephy. It’s not like I’m being that slow! *stuffs his belongnigs back into his shower then throws his dirty clothes in the hamper. Not long afterwards, he jogs out of the shower room and tries to catch up to Sephy* And of course I’m thinking of Lunch already. That is what we’re having next afterall.
Sephiroth: *raises an eyebrow at him, then shrugs* What, right now? *frowns and moves towards the mess hall* I could have sworn I had an arms class before lunch. Hmph… *glares back at him, but he is more amused than anything* Do you ever think about anything else, other than food?
Zack: *slows down and glances over at Sephiroth* No way. How can we have classes right after morning exercises? We never do, and those who are late getting out of the showers get stuck with chores. They wouldn’t make us take time out of classes to clean the showers. *Shakes his head* Or is this one of your extra courses?
Sephiroth: *shakes his head* I have extra classes to attend, but those usually occur later in the evening. I attend the same classes as you and all the other recruits here, as well as have the same meal times. *shrugs* Let’s just hurry up and snatch a place in line. *heads for the mess hall, frowning and slowing down as he sees Hojo, waiting for him at the door* Perhaps not…
Zack: *blinks and stares at Sephy with confusion* Huh? What’s wrong, Sephy? Aren’t you hungry? *reaches back to grip onto Seph’s arm and tries to pull him forward toward the cafeteria. However, he pauses as he spots Hojo and tilts his head* Hey, isn’t that the man I’ve seen around before? Are you certain that he’s no one, Sephy?
Sephiroth: *scowls as Zack pulls on his arm and pulls back on it, wanting to stay put, not wanting to go near the door* Yes, it’s that man… perhaps I will explain some of it later. Let’s just say that he is like a superior officer that I have to keep reporting to. *snorts in disgust and slowly moves towards Hojo, becoming partially submissive*
Zack: *blinks in confusion as Sephy changes his attitude on the dime and walks toward Hojo. Quickly coming to a decicion, Zack jogs after Sephy and begins to walk along side him* He’s a superior officer? He doesn’t look like he’s part of the military to me… *looks Hojo over* Hey, what do you want with Sephy here? He needs to eat.
Sephiroth: *mutters as he heads up towards Hojo* Yes, he is a superior officer, or at least the definition of one. He outranks us. Medics and all other non-battle personnel such as Doctors and scientists outrank us… *snorts in disgust and moves to stand in front of Hojo, glancing up at him* I am here… sir.
Hojo: Good. *smirks at Sephy’s apparent obedience, then glances at Zack* Go on your way, young soldier. This issue has nothing to do with you.
Zack: *frowns at Hojo then shakes his head. Sighing, he backs away from Seph* Take care of yourself, Sephy. I’d hate to hear that this old man roughed up a friend of mine. *jogs away and moves into the cafeteria, wanting to grab lunch*
*one of Hojo’s science interns walks over to Hojo once she sees that Seph has arrived. She holds out a briefcase full of Hojo’s equipment then nods* Your tools, sir.
Hojo: *nods his head and takes the briefcase* Excellent, thank you. *nudges Sephiroth in the arm* Follow. We are headed for the medical facility in this complex now. *moves away from the cafeteria area, heading for the administration and staff area at the other end of the military facility*
Sephiroth: *follows Hojo, scowling slightly as he trails behind*
Hal: *is in the cafeteria area and seated at a free table, and practically wolfing down some hamburgers and vegetables*
Zack: *blinks as he spots Hal, but doesn’t say anything yet. Instead, he moves into the line, which is rather small at this point and gets his food. As soon as he has food on his plate, having taken a portion of nearly every selection, he walks over to the table where Hal is eating and sits down* How did you get here before me? I thought you had to clean the showers today. *scratches the back of his head*
The assistant nods at Hojo, enjoying the appreciation. Following behind Hojo, she escorts Sephiroth to his examination. “You are developing well.” She nods at Sephy. “It is good to see that you are flourishing here.”
Hal: *looks up at Zack, then swallows the food in his mouth* Dude, you have no idea what I went through this morning. First Sarge made me clean up the plates in here because I was all hungover and stuff. I still kinda am, but… I missed out on breakfast. Then when I didn’t come back last in that stupid running thing, he made me scrub bathrooms in some of the dorms. I didn’t get to do anything else until just now. *mutters* I’m actually surprised the old coot let me come in here now.
Sephiroth: *calmly* I am doing fine, madam. *follows Hojo to the administration area* Will this take terribly long? I desire to eat food.
Hojo: Shut up and just keep on following, brat.
Zack: Yea.. but Sephy and I were like the first two out of the showers. How did you get here before me? *shakes his head* I just can’t figure out how you did it. You’re not the fastest runner and we were well in place to be the first in line. *mutters* I didn’t think that dude in the white jacket took that much time…
Assistant: Indeed. You do not need to have answers to those questions, Sephiroth. *moves up ahead of Hojo then opens the door for him*
Hal: I spent all this time cleaning the bathrooms in the dorms. After I did so many, Sarge let me off and come here. You guys were still doing stuff or something, I don’t know. Who cares, I’m hungry. *mumbles* And I’m never going drinking again. This week. *looks around, then grins* Sephy got out of the showers first huh? Sarge is punishing him for that?
Hojo: *moves ahead into the administration area, immediately heading for the medical bay halfway down the corridor* Follow. This will not take long.
Sephiroth: *sighs and follows after Hojo, seeming unhappy with the assistant’s response* I just want this to be over with so I can go eat.
Zack: Yea, but… *scratches the back of his head* Oh, nevermind. I don’t think I’ll ever understand it. I still say you broke time time/space continuum… Hrmph. *settles down in his seat and begins to dig into his lunch*
Assitant: *follows the group, remaining close behind Sephiroth so that she’d be available if Sephiroth chooses to try to make a run for it* Stop your complaining, boy. One of your metabolism can survive over a week without food. You are not starving.
Hojo: *leads the small group down the corridor, heading into a free and open Medical Bay room, designed for patching up wounded soldiers. He folds his arms once he is inside, then growls* Hop up onto the table, boy.
Sephiroth: *he frowns at the Assistant’s words and scowls slightly in protest. He continues to follow Hojo along, silent for a few moments as he debates whether to talk back to the assistant or not. Finally, he just makes a tired frustrated grunt and leaves his response at that. He scowls at Hojo after following him into the room, then silently climbs up onto the table and begins to pry off his leather straps and shirt so Hojo can examine his chest area*
Hal: Phh, I wish I could break the damn time/space continuum, then I could at least piss off from here or catch a break for once! *pauses* Or cheat when there’s some exercise on so I don’t come back finishing last. Do you have any idea how shit it is to be the last guy finished? It makes Sarge such a smug bastard. *scowls and punches his fist down on the table, causing his plate to clatter* Jeez, what an ass.
Assistant: *walks out to the side of the table and begins to set up Hojo’s equipment for him. However, she pauses momentarily to take Sephy’s clothing and set it down on the floor so that they wouldn’t get in the way. Once everything is set up, she grabs a sphygmomanometer so that she can get the basic vitals measurements done and over with. So, she wraps the strap around Sephy’s right arm and begins to pump it up*
Zack: Well, you just need to start getting more involved in the exercises, Hal. I mean, you’ll never be a Sephiroth – damn, that boy is fast – but I’m certain you can easily speed up if you were to put more effort into it. Running is actually one of the easiest things that they ask of us.
Sephiroth: *sits there patiently while is blood pressure is being measured. He swings his feet over the edge of the table and stares upwards, already appearing bored and impatient with the testing*
Hojo: Behave yourself, boy. *prepares a needle, then reaches into his bag to retrieve a pre-mixed serum bottle containing a single dosage of Jenova cells, dissolved in a batch of Sephy’s blood-plasma. He stabs the hyperdermic needle into the bottle and fills up the syringe, then squeezes the air out again, leaving it to sit on the table beside him while he waits for the assistant to finish* After that, get a blood sample from him. It’s been approximately two weeks since the last one was acquired, so the results are out of date now.
Hal: Hah, it’d be easier to catch up if I stay well rested, you know? *jabs his fork in the leftovers of his food and begins to munch through them* I’m not going partying again. For a while.
Assistant: Yes, sir. *finishes taking the readings from Sephiroth’s blood pressure then begins to check his other vitals with a stethoscope. Soon afterwards, she jots down all her notes onto a clipboard before picking up a large needle. She turns her back to Seph as she preps the needle so that it’d be ready for his blood sample. After a few moments, she turns back around and moves to jab the needle into the vein in Sephy’s left arm*
Zack: *mutters* It still wouldn’t help if you got more involved. *Shrugs and finishes off his plate* But yea, try not to party so hard. It’ll only make you feel like shit the next day.
Sephiroth: *winces slightly as the assistant takes a sample of his blood, but he has long since learned to just sit there and take it. He flexes his arm to make the task easier for the assistant to find a suitable vein for drawing blood from. He lowers his head and sighs* Do I go back to class after this is over?
Hojo: *to the assistant* Good work. *looks back at Sephiroth* Shut up, boy. You will do whatever you are told. *folds his arms, waiting for the assistant to be done*
Hal: Yeah yeah I get it. *yawns and scratches the back of his head* I’m underage anyway, I shouldn’t be drinking in the first place. That’s probably why the sarge was such a dick about it, ya’ know? *looks towards the door* What’s going on after this?
Assistant: *spends about a minute taking the blood sample, wanting to insure that it is done correctly. Once the vial is full, she pulls out the syringe and sets the tube within a padded suit case* The boy is ready for you, Professor. *pauses* Unless there are any other checks that you would like me to perform.
Zack: Well, I have swordfighting basics class next. *grins* We’re going to be sparring with actual live weapons today. It’s going to be so cool! *chuckles*
