Hojo: *hisses* Shut up, wench! *swats at the air near her face, knowing full well that he would get into trouble if he were to harm her* It has nothing to do with that at all. You are being a disrespectful little brat. I will report your conduct to the people in charge of your experiment. *moves back to the other table, then grabs Sephy by the arm, dragging him out of the room*
Noemi: *broadly smirks at Hojo, finding it humorous that he can’t touch her* Oh, I don’t think you’ll do anything of the sort. Afterall, I do everything that’s asked of me; that’s all that matters. You can’t touch me no matter what you do.
Hojo: *merely growls in response and heads out of the room to leave Noemi with her lab techs*
Noemi’s comments have had a lasting effect on Hojo, for throughout the course of the day there is sounds of yelling and heated argument at regular intervals in the laboratory adjacent to Noemi’s. It was partially fuelled by what Noemi had said to him, but mostly because of the fact that Hojo is angry with the hierarchy system in the laboratory environment in general, and tired of Gast being his superior on the Jenova Project, tired of being the one to be ordered around. Hojo had done far more work on the Project than Gast anyway, yet the Professor was getting all the acclaim, praise and support from higher management. He had tried a few times in the past to undermine his superior’s decisions and plans, but was only reprimanded as a result, despite the fact that some of his own suggestions were far better and more innovative than what Gast had done previously. The Professor himself even later implemented some of the suggestions and he had received praise for it. Hojo was tired of being in his shadow.
So when the lab techs take Sephiroth out of the room and into the radiation therapy area for his daily treatments, Hojo makes his move. He smashes the wide end of a conical flask off its neck, and then he lies in wait just beyond the Professor’s door. He proceeds to stab Professor Gast in the throat with the broken piece of glass when he comes out of his office to see what the noise was all about. Hojo then punches Gast in the face, knocks him to the floor, and then finally attempts to choke him to death. He is soon stopped however, when the lab techs return to the room and promptly activate the loaded tranquilizer guns on the walls intended for out of control experiments. There would be sounds of yelling coming from the lab next door once again, and then a lot of ordering around as a medical team is called into the room to deal with the situation. One of the lab techs then delivers Sephiroth into Noemi’s lab area with the instructions to her experiment team to keep him quiet and distracted for a few hours, or however long it will take until they can resume work next door. They also give the instruction of telling him nothing of what has gone on.
Sephiroth: *although he was out of the room at the time and didn’t see the incident happen, he wonders what is going on, but is very happy that he has gotten out of the laboratory for a while. He sits in the chair he was placed in and grins, thankfully taking a book he is handed by one of the lab techs, who promptly leave again to deal with the incident next door*
Noemi: *has not taken well to the synthetic blood transfer and is currently sitting on her table, violently shaking and quite pale. Her body is rejecting the fake white blood cells and treating them like an infection, so Noemi has developed quite a high fever in response. She softly groans and curls up on the table. She looks up and responds whenever the lab assistants ask her something, but mostly looks horrible.
She had heard Hojo’s yelling, but did not give it much thought at all. Hojo yells all the time, and today felt no different from any other temper tantrum to her. The only thought that crosses her mind concerning all the yelling is the hope that Seph does not get severely beaten up because of it.
Still, Noemi is too ill to even notice Seph being brought into the room. She just groans and keeps her head lowered, mumbling* I don’t know why you guys injected me and not someone with such a high immune system…
Sephiroth: *glances up at Noemi from her book, then resumes ‘reading’ it* *”What happened to you? You look terrible. They should retire you to your room for the day. As for me, I got out of radiation therapy today.”* *grins* *”I asked them what happened, and they said something happened that wasn’t supposed to.”*
Noemi: *slowly shakes her head* ~I’ll be fine… They need to run more tests on me and see what went wrong.~ *Groans and covers her mouth, feeling bile creep up her esophagus* ~You’re lucky… I thought Hojo was going to kill you with the amount of ruckus he was making.~ *whimpers then scurries to the edge of the table and begins hurling*
Sephiroth: *moves his feet off the floor, not wanting them to be splashed with flecks of vomit* *”They’re going to shoot you up with a large dose of antibiotics if you keep that up.”* *sighs at her* *”As for Hojo, I haven’t actually seen him since I was prepped for therapy and escorted from the room. He was yelling again after I left? I wonder what about…”*
Noemi: *groans and moves to lie down, just looking up at the ceiling. At this piont, even her telepathic speak is becoming garbled and sluggish* ~They’re the one who gave me the shot that made me unwell… Let them fix it.~
Sephiroth: *frowns at her* *”I hope you get better soon… you’re not much fun to talk to when you’re lying on your bed and inactive.”*
Noemi: *softly groans and shakes her head* ~I don’t lay on my bed inactive all that often… That’s usually you after your treatments. Especially after they give you Mako and Jenova cells at the same time.~ *violently shivers and looks up as one of the assistants begin hooking her up to a machine so they could see what’s going on inside her*
Sephiroth: *frowns at her, but continues pretending to be reading* *”You’re still boring when you’re not interested in talking. Then I have to read for real rather than just faking it like I’m doing now.”*
Noemi: *faintly grins at him and releases a very faint chuckle* ~I’ll be fine… I can still think and still speak to you..~ *cringes as the assistnats begin prodding her to find the best way to fix her*
Sephiroth: *”Yes, you can. Those alone can keep you going a bit. Just concentrate on getting better for now. You have to be well when they let us start training together.”*
Noemi: *softly groans* ~I think I’ll have to skip training for today… I feel like shit.. ~ *slowly shakes her head* ~Anyway, the instructors prefer you when it comes to combat training. I think you have a knack for it.~ *faintly grins at him* ~Meanwhile they like me when they begin showing us how to work with machines and show us aeronotics and the like..~
Sephiroth: *”I can’t fly those machine simulators to save my life. It’s more fun to smash them into the dragons, well.. it is until they get mad at me.”*
Noemi: *continues to grin at him* ~Yes, I think I’d be scared for my life if you were ever to fly a shuttle. Meanwhile, it nearly feels like home to be able to fly something… even if it isn’t real yet. Think I’ll make a good pilot some year?~
Sephiroth: *”The gods created you for it, Noemi. What does it matter what I think?”* *grins and flips a page in the book, wondering if anyone else in the room has been monitoring him and noticing how long it has taken him to read one page* *”I’ll have to get as good as you and scar you for life then, yes?”*
Noemi: ~Hrmph, I highly doubt you’ll ever get as good as me.~ *gives him a faint smirk* ~Especially if you keep on burning down entire towns in your battle tactics sessions. I’d be scared if you ever become a leader in the armed forces. You’ll lead us all to destruction.~
Sephiroth: *”Only the enemy, my friend. And I only do that because it’s not real and fun to set fire to everything.”*
Noemi: *snorts* ~I’ve seen you set fire to “nuetral” territories and have your instructors scold you. You’re not exactly all that tactical yet.~ *loudly yelps in pain as the doctors inject her with a substance to break up the false white blood cells*
Sephiroth: *”It’s just a simulation, who cares. My instructors certainly shouldn’t, it’s not like I’m wrecking anything real or important. It’s fun to smash the vehicles in the driving simulators, and even more fun to just destroy everything in the battle tactics simulators. You should try it some time.”*
Noemi: *snorts* ~These are preparations for the war, Seph. If you don’t take this seriously, how do you expect to ever get out of here and onto the field? At the moment, the only thing you’re good at is using your practice swords.~ *grits her teeth as the lab techs continue to work on her*
Sephiroth: *”I’m only five years old, Noemi. I have years and years to practise. Besides, I have more important things to do than play with a few simulators. Such as not getting killed when Hojo gets angry with me.”*
Noemi: *Shakes her head* ~Maybe if you cooperated more when they ask you to do things…~ *closes her eyes, trying to ignore the pain in her body*
