Teresa: Really now? I know quite a few places. Are you certain that I won’t know it. *she pulls back on the reigns to make the horse slow down as she nears the mansion*
Zack: I’m almost dead certain that you won’t know it… *lowers his head and rubs his lower back area, wincing in pain* I’m never going to do that again.
Teresa: *looks back at him once more, narrowing her eyes slightly then softly speaks once she enters the confines of the stables* You know, flying around in the sky like that is against all the laws of my kind and would get you in serious trouble if it was more than myself who spotted you. *she roughly shoves him off Augusto then gets off herself and leads the horse to his stall* It was a good way for you to invite getting yourself executed.
Zack: *grits his teeth in pain as he is shoved off the horse* What the heck is wrong with levitating around like that? There’s no law against it, don’t be silly. And it’s an effective form of travel when you don’t have a plane… *slowly moves into a sitting position* I’m not one of your kind. Though I have one for a brother.
Well, I don’t know if you’re awake, so I’m just going to put up replies anyway…
Teresa: The law applies to all creatures of magical or “supernatural” comings that would tip the humans off to there being more in their world than what their eyes see every day. *Scowls, sliding off Augusto’s back. She removes the riding gear from the horse then locks him in his stable* If the humans were to have spotted you flying, they are likely to start their inquisitions and witchhunts all over again. The massacres that ruined my kind would start all over again. *glares at him* So, don’t be stupid and do that again. You’re lucky it’s not my father or one of my older, more strict, siblings who spotted you. *frowns at Zack’s statement* And I take it you mean adoptive brother. You do not feel anything like a half-breed and I sense no dragon in you at all.Ah I kinda slept from 9pm to 4am just now, so hehe… I’ve no excuse not to wake at 10am today.
Zack: *sighs as he listens to Teresa’s statement* Where I came from, humans don’t really care if they see us flying. The people are smart enough to know that there are bigger things than them around. Behemoths, magic weilders, dragons. That sort of thing. They look up at me and stare, but they know that there are gifted people among them. There’s even one with a celebrity status and people take pictures when he flies over them, though he’s a celebrity for other things… *lowers his head* Anyway, you’re lying to the humans. They have a right to know what exists. As for my brother, I am the adoptive one. He’s a pureblooded dragon, created from a silver male and a red female. As a result, he’s predominantly solid red with silver flecks in his scales. *rubs his back, still not game enough to stand*Might as well stay up til then…. I wouldn’t bother going back to sleep at this point, myself.. I’d just risk sleeping past the point that I want to wake up if I did.
Teresa: *loudly snorts at Zack’s claim that her kind and their laws are just lies to human* Of course we’re lying to them. We lived out in the open in the past, then their missionaries began preaching and calling for the deaths of their “demons”. The people would rather listen to their “god” than to reason. They killed thousands of dragons. Not to mention, they erradicated entire species at points. Even elves are a rare race at this point. About the only land that was untouched is the one that is protected from everyone else with it’s magical barriers. I believe they started calling their land Halcyon since one of their recent leaders originated from England. *snorts once more* The laws exist to protect all of us. Just do not break them again!Nah, I’ll sleep another few hours and nap at the end. Just because I still feel a little tired, and sick to my stomach.
Zack: I’m sorry, I didn’t realize. I knew humans killed dragons off in huge numbers, I just didn’t know that…. *frowns and stops himself, glancing up at her* Did you say Halcyon? That’s where I came from. *grins* There are dragons there now? Maybe one of them can help me.If you really think so, though I personally wouldn’t do such.. Sorry for the delay. Went to get feeding materials.
Teresa: *suspicoiusly narrows her eyes* You are from Halcyon? That sounds highly improbable… First of all they’re nothing like what you were describing your home to be like. Second, they don’t like humans. At all. The last group of shipwrecked humans there were eaten alive. *frowns even more* And there have always been dragons there. They founded that island and built up the civilization there. Where are you really from?Hehe, that’s OK.
Zack: The Halcyon I come from hasn’t got much life on it. I’m not really sure I should be explaining it to you. *deeply frowns* All I can and should tell you is that for a long time, I lived in the system of cavernous tunnels that creatures used as their base, and protection against the outside world. Technically I still live there, but my dragon brother prefers where we live now, because of the wide open area with no dangers and heaps of sunlight. He hated being couped up.Teresa: *stares at Zack in horror* “My dragon”? You keep one of my kind as a pet? Impossible! No dragon would ever stoop so low to become a pet to a lowly human. It doesn’t matter how much unusual power you have. It would be a disgrace to our great herritage.
Zack: Oh, I don’t keep him as a pet, don’t be absurd. I know very well how proud and majestic dragons are, I’d never even begin to want to acquire one for a pet. Xelong could quite easily and happily eat me with his current size as he is. *smiles with happiness as he thinks of him* No, he’s not a pet, and I would never claim him to be one. He’s my brother, we respect each other, and I care for him. I was given his egg by his mother, and I sat with it for over a year, keeping it warm and safe. I’ve looked after him and cared for him since before he was born, and he sees me as a parental figure. He’s a wonderful and magnificent creature, and I openly tell him that on a regular basis.
Teresa: I see… So, he is yours as in “your son”. Well, I must admit, you do not look like a likely canidate for a assisting hand in raising a hatchling. *she shakes her head and decides that she has pried enough into the subject. Instead, she chooses to focus on the fact that Zack was flying toward her home* What exactly were you coming here to look for? I know you were heading this way. That much was obvious.
Zack: Yeah, Xelong sees me as his father figure. Though I look after his health too, so you could also call me his doctor. Especially when he’s in pain, or having trouble with his teeth. I like to check them regularly in case he has any loose ones. *sighs at her question and gives up* You know about dragons, you know about Halcyon, I guess I can explain it to you. Though you’re probably not going to believe some of it.
Teresa: *shakes her head* Just tell me what you were coming to my home for. I don’t care what you did in your old home. Why did you want to come here? That is all that is important to me.
Zack: *sighs at her* My adoptive parents know how to make portals. They know how to travel to other time lines. I do not. I envied that and seeked to create a means of doing it for myself. Well, I did. I built a machine that is capable of making portals and gateways to other places in time, under Centra’s advice, blueprints and instructions. I wanted to test it out and see where it would take me. So, I set the time back to around the time period where my mother would be very young. I wanted to see dragons, but I think I’m in the wrong place. *he frowns and slowly shakes his head* I’m not on Halcyon, I don’t see dragons anywhere, and my mother isn’t even here. Ontop of that, the portal is gone, so I’m stuck here…
Teresa: *crosses her arms and frowns even more at Zack* Well, for starters: I am a dragon. Second, I don’t care where you came from, I’ve told you this several times. You must be bad at understanding Spanish. I can tell that you are not speaking fluently by your accent. So, why were you heading toward my home? Answer already. *she snaps her fingers in an aggitated manner in order to emphasize her question*
Zack: I sensed dragons there, perhaps one could help me? I don’t know. *scowls in irritation* And I saw no way of answering your question without telling you what happened.
Teresa: Help you with what? Taking you someplace that you call home? *snorts* We don’t do that sort of thing, even if we knew how to make such things as “portals”. You are on your own there. *she dusts off her clothes then begins heading back to the mansion* Since you are here, I’ll at least give you a room to stay in.
Zack: *looks very unhappy now* Damn… *shakes his head at the offer for a room* No thanks. I’ll find somebody who can help. *forces himself to stand up, wincing slightly as his body protests* Ouch…
Teresa: Very well, but do not use your powers like that again. You will get killed for it. *she strolls out of the stables. Before heading off to the mansion, she takes a moment to straighten out her hair. Once she’s pleased with her appearance, she takes off toward the house, wanting to eat and get back inside*
Zack: *is glad to see the back of the woman and leaps into the air, flying up high once again where he wouldn’t be able to be spotted as easily. He heads in the opposite direction to where Teresa went, not wanting her to get angry at him again*
Teresa: *narrows her eyes, being able to sense that Zack is in the air and uses her magic again to force him out of the air* ~I told you not to do that. Do it again and I tell my father.~
Zack: *loudly hisses as he is knocked out of the sky once again and doesn’t reply for several moments as he has been knocked out of his senses. When he does recover, he groans and rolls onto his back, scowling at the fact that he is in a nearby cow pasture* *”You forced me out of the sky both times, didn’t you? Why do you have such a set against me? I’m not one of your kind.”*
Teresa: ~I already informed you, the law applies to all of magical, psychic, or supernatural qualities. We cannot make exceptions. And I’m protecting your life.~ *she grins as she heads into the dining room to attend dinner, quite pleased at the large banquet that had been prepared. Of course, this given dinner is just for show to the servants so they don’t talk. The real dinners occur downstairs in the basement, where the dragons allow themselves to return to their natural state and eat real meals* ~Now, if you have a long way to travel, I can assure you safe stay here for the night.~
