Maria: *mumbles* I’m a bit hungry… It’s just.. I don’t know. *she sniffles and slowly shakes her head* I can’t really enjoy food anymore, I guess.
Zack: *sighs at her* Well, would you be able to drink something? I still have the medicine in my pocket and waiting for you.
Maria: *Stops then looks at Zack, nodding* Yes, I am very thirsty. I’d like something to drink and that medicine.
Zack: I will get you some cold milk or something. No way in hell would I allow you to drink raw river water from an unknown location. *gets to his feet again and leaves the cave, teleporting back into the farmhouse to once again raid their supplies. He steals a glass bottle of milk, a bag of apples, and some drinking glasses before he teleports back and walks back into the cave* It’s freshly chilled. *sits down near her and takes the foil off the bottle, pouring her a small amount in the glass* The medicine might be bad tasting, so you will have to drink something else after. *takes the potion vial out of his pocket again and offers it to Maria*
Maria: *initially ignores the glass of milk and lifts her eyes to examine the “medicine”. She frowns, uncertain of what she really wants to do for a few moments, before reaching out for the medicine* I’ll feel better… *She slowly nods to herself then pulls open the bottle and begins to drink it. After drinking it though, she appears to be a bit tipsy and hick-ups* I feel stran- *she releases a soft groan then collapses on the ground*
Zack: *yelps* Wake up!! *quickly shakes her shoulder and whimpers* Come on, you can’t sleep there… *Picks her up and places her down in the corner of the cave, covering her with more of the blanket* This sucks.. *attempts to telepathically contact Teresa* *”I just fed her the potion and she fainted. What’s going on?”*
Teresa: *would sound a bit staticy due to the distance* ~Calm down. She’ll only be asleep for a bit while the potion works through her system. She’s not poisoned.~
Maria: *remains asleep and limp, completely unconcious. She does not make any noise at all as Zack moves her about*
Zack: *”I’m sorry, she just dropped so hard that I thought something was seriously wrong.”* *frowns* *”How long will she be out of it?”* *fries the fish, grinning at the smell it is making*
Teresa: ~That depends on how strong and healthy she was to start with. No more than two days at most.~
Zack: *sighs* *”Two days? Why that long? How complex can that potion possibly be? And how do I keep her hydrated and fed while she’s out of it? I can’t just teleport chewed up food and water into her stomach… can I?”*
Teresa: ~You can get liquids to slide down her throat with ease, I’m certain of it. And it could be shorter than two days. It all depends on her stamina.~
Zack: *”You said it would change the baby, but not her. Why did it even make her become unconcious? It doesn’t make sense…”*
Teresa: ~The potion still needs to work within her body. Do not worry. It’s just contains a small sedative to keep her asleep while the potion takes effect so that she’d not experience any form of discomfort.~
Zack: *”Oh I see. I just wouldn’t have liked to think that it knocked her out because of pain, or because she’s weak and couldn’t handle it. But a sedative is probably the best idea, especially if she’s going to go through some drastic changes. I’ll take care of her.”*
Teresa: ~Good, now get further away. If we can still speak, you are too close to me. If you are too close, my brother may eventually find you.~
Zack: *sighs* *”How much further away do I need to get…? We’ll be travelling away for weeks at this rate. And this stupid old boat won’t handle going into the ocean.”*
Teresa: *grumbles to herself, not really wanting to continue guiding Zack* ~Listen. Eventually there is a port down the river. You can exit there then start traveling south. Just get a good distance away, ok?~
Zack: *sighs* *”Very well. Thank you for helping.”* *begins packing up all the things he stole, carrying them back out to the boat. He heads back to the cave and pulls the blanket over Maria properly again, lying down some distance away from her on the bare ground for the remainder of the night, intending to move tomorrow*
Maria: *remains asleep for nearly an entire 24 hours. While she’s asleep, she is actually seeming to be calm and untroubled by nightmares. However, once she begins to wake up once more, she loudly moans then frowns in discomfort. Her eyes flutter open for a brief moment before she squeezes them shut again.* Mmmm… Momma? *She opens her eyes once more and looks around, sighing as she spots Zack and remembers what’s happened*
Zack: *is busy peeling oranges that he stole earlier* I was wondering when you would wake up. We have another few days to travel by boat just yet. We need to get even further away…
Maria: We do… *groans and covers her mouth* Irk. Pardon me, sir.. *she scurries over to the side and begins hurling* I must have gotten sick from not eating…
Zack: *grits his teeth at the noise* That’s OK, we’re leaving this area soon anyway. Just don’t throw up on that blanket, alright? You can drink some cooled boiled water afterwards.
Maria: *slowly nods* Thank you for your kindness. *she releases a soft cough as she finishes throwing up then moves back under her blanket, sighign with content* I’ve seen you vanish and reappear? Can you go get my family doing that?
Zack: *frowns* You want me to get your family and have them come with us? How are we even going to begin explaining that? I’m getting you away for your own safety. If they all come, that bad man would find you easier…
