Sephiroth: You were also having a bad dream and moaning in your sleep. And telling me that “you didn’t mean to” as if you had done something wrong, like a child being punished. I am not scolding you, it’s just a dream afterall. But it would be rather disturbing to have a dream strong enough to react like that.
Jenna: *frowns as she listens to Sephiroth speak. Once he finishes his tale, she lowers her head and tries to lie back down on the bed* Oh… Well, that is- *shrugs and turns her back to him* I’m fine. *scowls at herself, certain that she must have looked like a maniac. So, she remains awake, not interested in sleeping at the moment*
Sephiroth: *makes himself comfortable on the bed once more, then reaches down to feel the carved in runes* This is quite interesting. With the healing spell set up on this bed, you’ve essentially got yourself a big curative magic materia that you can lie on.
Jenna: *blinks, confused for a moment. She doesn’t recognize the word “materia” at first, but eventually, she recalls the stones that Seph’s planet uses. So, she turns to face him and shakes her head* My magic is much better than those silly little stones. All I need is knowledge and a way to focus energy, not just simple stones. The possibilities of what I can do are nearly endless, I imagine. *looks up at Sephiroth* Did I say anything else to you in my sleep?
Sephiroth: No, not really. Just “I didn’t mean to” and that’s it. You must have some pretty screwed up dreams if you’re saying things like that, and behaving like a beaten child in your sleep. *moves off the bed* I shall see you at a later time. I desire to find food.
Jenna: *lowers her head* I’ll explain that some other time.. *Shakes her head* Right now, I don’t even know if you’d be even interested in the tale. As for food… Good luck. I have never been into storing food anywhere in this base.
Sephiroth: You don’t? Where do you store your food then? This place seems paticularly large, you could easily store an entire grocery store’s worth of food in here if you wanted to. *Snorts* Where do you normally keep your food?
Jenna: *frowns at him then simply speaks* I eat it fresh. I do not store food here at all. *shakes her head* So, good luck finding food stored in this base. Chances are that it’s rather ancient if you do find it.
Sephiroth: *seems rather annoyed* Phh… I did not see any means of acquiring fresh food during the tour. I’d like to find food, but there is no chance in hell I’d eat it if it was old. *grunts* So, I would have to go outside and buy my own food then?
Jenna: I meant that I go outside and hunt down fresh food, Seph. *Shakes her head* I have no reason to store extra food when I have a ready supply out there. *tilts her head* And I suppose you can try buying food, but you’d have to make quite a trip to get to the nearest strore. The ocean is quite large and you might as well wait for me to heal by the time you get to the nearest human settlement.
Sephiroth: *moves to sit back down on the bed and slowly nods* Yes, I might as well wait for that. I can go hungry in the meantime. It is not that big of a deal. *moves to lie down on the bed once more* I couldn’t be bothered hunting Hades-knows-what and cooking it up. That could take hours anyway.
Jenna: *glances back at Sephiroth and sighs, feeling guilty for making him starve. So, she sits upright and closes her eyes* I’ll do my best to get you some food right now.. *concentrates on a spell to conjur up a small meal. After a few moments, a tray filled with fruits, steak, and chicken appear on the foot of the bed. The food had been in fact transported from a random location to the room, so some poor sucker suddenly had his meal vanish*
Sephiroth: *sits up as he smells food, then immediately begins to tuck into it, pulling apart the chicken first* *”That is rather handy and effective. I think I could get used to this quite easily if it is a regular occurance. Do you want some?”* *continues eating, enjoying his food*
Jenna: *screws up her face and looks quite disgusted. She shake her head and lies back down* No, I do not. You can have it all. I do not eat that sort of food. *sighs then tries to make herself comfortable once more*
Sephiroth: *chews through the steak and looks up at her* Oh? *swallows* Why not? What’s wrong with it? *begins to peel a banana* It’s good food, there’s nothing wrong with it as far as I can see. *bites into the banana* *”What kind of food do you like, then?”*
Jenna: *deeply frowns, not wanting to answer at first since she is certain that he’ll be disgusted. However, she decides that he might as well know. So, she twists around to face Sephiroth and looks up to his face* I eat my food freshly killed. I do not eat food that is anything like the way that humans make it. *shakes her head* I kill it, then I go ahead and eat it.
Sephiroth: *raises an eyebrow at her* So, you prefer things like sushi? Sometimes that is alive before prepared. As are lobsters. But I don’t see what is so preferrable about that, however. Food can be quite good as long as it is properly preserved.
Jenna: *shakes her head* No, not sushi. I am saying that I eat it right after I kill it, Seph. *looks up at him* I do not cook it, I do not prepare it. I just slice it open and start eating. Do you understand now? *closes her eyes, trying to fein tiredness, even though she’s wide awake at the moment*
Sephiroth: *raises an eyebrow at her* You kill things and eat them raw? Why? What’s so great about that? *grunts* Food is usually much better when you at least do something to it. I’ve never just… killed something and ate it as is. You don’t get ill doing that?
Jenna: *Scowls at Sephiroth* That was the way I was raised. You can say that it’s an aquired taste if you want to. *releases a loud snort at his question about her getting ill. She finds it mildly insulting that he believes such* No, do I look ill to you? I have survived all my life as long as I remember on such a diet. I have not once been sickened by it.
Sephiroth: It doesn’t sound very pleasant. But if that’s what you eat… *shrugs and continues to munch through the food on the bed, soon finishing up. He moves into the bathroom to wash off his hands* As long as I don’t have to eat the raw food, I will be fine.
Jenna: No, I won’t force you to eat my type of food. Though I do not see what is so wrong with it. I personally find that there is more flavor to be had in food that is uncooked, especially since the process of cooking food strips the meat of most of its nutrients. *opens her eyes to watch Seph move into the bathroom* So, I take it that you approve of having come here?
Sephiroth: *calls back to her, spending a few more moments to drink some water and wash off his face* I approve of it, yes. It’s better than being stuck on that stupid plane with the idiots, and certainly better than where I was before I was stuck with them. *moves away from the sink and dries his hands off, sitting back down on the bed* Though, now I have a mild problem.
Jenna: *tilts her head* Hm? What sort of problem is that? *looks him over as if she’d find the answer to her question on his person. After finding nothing out of the usual, she returns to looking up at his face* I do not understand what you could be referring to.
Sephiroth: I don’t know what I am going to do with myself now. Everybody has always dictated what I did up until now. Even in death others speculated over what I did all the time. Right through my childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, it was always others who said what was going to happen. *grunts sharply* Now that I am free, I just don’t know what I am going to do.
