Sephiroth: Phh… I’m not going to break anything… *picks up a broadsword and carries it with him out of the room, heading for the training area. He walks into the middle of the room and sits crosslegged on the floor, placing the broadsword on the ground beside him. He then rests his palms on his knees and begins to meditate, trying to relax before he would begin practising with and trying out the sword*
Kerash: *the clanking of her claws can be heard going up and down the stairs as Sephy meditates. She is gathering supplies to continue her work monitoring the clones and other computer systems upstairs*
Jenna: *has decided to get some rest, so she is lying on her bed, still dressed only in her robe*
Sephiroth: *opens one eye and glances towards the door as he hears Kerash’s clanking movements. He gets to his feet and abandons the broadsword on the floor where he left it, moving out of the training room to investigate. He moves along the stairway and corridors back to where he hears the noises, then subtly pushes open the door to the cloning area, closely watching the activities inside*
Kerash: *moves from tube to tube, checking up on the creatures that are growing inside. Most are just fetuses that have barely began to develop, but some are at a development stage where they are old enough to be released but still young enough to learn from the real world. Also, there are several tubes that contain “failures”, creatures who developed deformities or diseases while being developed. So, they are waiting to be destroyed.*
Sephiroth: *finally moves into the room, making a loud snorting noise in disgust* What the hell is this place? What are you doing in here? *Scowls as he passes by one of the tanks with a growing foetus inside* You’re just as bad as a crazed scientist I knew once.
Centra: *activates a holographic projector within the room and “appears” next to Sephy once more* This is where we are conducting the repopulation operations. There was a tragedy a few hundred years ago that left this land nearly lifeless. Thanks to the cloning technology here, we have been able to recreate life and begin reforming the society that once existed. Also, we have taken steps to restore animals that are considered “endangered of extinction” thanks to human action.
Kerash: *glances back at Sephiroth and growls under her breath* I am not a scientist. *presses a button on a tube that contains a malformed creature. Soon, the tube empties and then the being is sucked up to be brought to a seperate chamber that would turn the failed clone into nutrition for the others*
Sephiroth: *snorts and stumbles aside, really not liking Centra’s sudden appearances* Thank you for that information. Next time, a warning that you are going to do that would be appropriate. *grunts in annoyance and moves away from the hologram and watches the malformed creature get sucked away* Feh.. feeding the dead to the living. That would work, if the dead weren’t sick.
Centra: *”floats” along with Sephiroth* Forgive me. Next time I shall speak up before creating a visualization, sir. *her human form vanishes and the projector begins displaying the exact process that is used in order to recycle the dead* That logic would work if not for the fact that the failures only have genetic anomalies. Genetic conditions cannot be passed through our recycling procedures.
Kerash: *hisses at Sephiroth as he nears her position, not feeling comfortable with him around. So, she quickly moves on to another tube and begins hitting the controls needed to maintain that fetus*
Sephiroth: Hrmph, that would work, provided that they do not have any diseases. If you feed diseased food onto the next batch of clones, they are only going to get the disease as well, especially if it is contageous. *grunts in annoyance*
Centra: On the contrary, my systems keep the food supplies sterilized. There are no diseases that are fed to the creatures being bred and grown here at all. Also, I regularly administer immunizations to keep these creatures free of disease. These are some of the healthiest being alive.
Kerash: *finally decides to pay attention to Sephiroth and stalks over to him. She raises herself to her full eight and glares down at him* Leave.
Sephiroth: *stands tall, raising himself up to his full height as he glares back at Kerash* No. Unless I am forced to leave, or it is proven that I am not welcome here, only then will I leave. *grunts* So, what is it to be?
Kerash: Very well then, human. *lunges forward to bite onto his shoulder then begins to roughly drag Sephiroth out of the room. She doesn’t bother to make the trip comfortable for Sephy-wephy. So, she continues to drag him until she reaches the stairs then shoves him out into the open. Once that is completed, she turns about face and stalks back into the cloning room*
Sephiroth: *loudly snarls in anger as his shoulder is bitten into and tries to smack Kerash in the jaw as she drags him out into the stairwell. He stumbles slightly as he is shoved away, then he loudly growls* Fine… *snorts and heads up the stairs, heading outside*
Jenna: *looks up as she hears the snarling and deeply sighs. She shakes her head and gets up from the bed. Before heading upstairs to check on Sephers, she casts a spell to dress herself properly once more. Then, she dashes up the stairs to find the ex-general. She moves up to his side and softly speaks to him, not wanting to aggitate him further* Where are you going?
Sephiroth: *makes an aggitated snort* I’m leaving. That stupid computer and it’s hologram keeps stalking me, and the metallic monster whom was in the cloning tank area obviously didn’t want me around. Thus, I am leaving. Goodbye. *begins walking away from her, as well as the base*
Jenna: *Frowns and moves to grip onto Seph’s arm* Wait, stop. You’re overreacting. *tries to move infront of him in order to block his path* Kerash, that is the one that didn’t want you around, right? Do not mind her. She doesn’t like humans too much but she’ll leave you be if you leave her be and stay out of her way. *shakes her head* There’s no real reason for you to leave, Seph. And where do you think you’ll go?
Sephiroth: *grunts and stops, slowly shaking his head* I’ve no idea where I would go. I never planned things like that before, however. I don’t see why I should start now. I’ll make my own way, I have thus far and I am fine.
Jenna: *keeps her hand gripped onto Seph’s left arm and looks up into his eyes. She is more than determined not to have him leave her, so she keeps her ground and defiantly looks up at him* You know nothing of my home planet. It is less than wise for you to just go out there. *slowly shakes her head* And you are more than welcome to stay here. I had made a promise to you years ago to give you someplace safe to stay and I intend to keep it. Now, stop being so foolhardy and stubborn.
Sephiroth: *meets her gaze and scowls back at her for a moment, more unhappy than anything. He makes a soft sighing noise and glances away from her, frowning* I’ll learn, I’m sure. I’m not being stubborn, it’s just blatantly obvious that I am not welcome here.
Jenna: *scowls at him then shakes her head* Do you think I would have taken all that time to be friendly with you and give you a tour if you were not welcomed? I am sorry that you do not like it that Centra monitors everything that goes on in this base. I’ll tell her not to talk to you again if that truly bothers you. She is only a machine that follows the perameters of her programming. Kerash is best left alone, she wants to be dead, so ignore she exists. The one that matters, the one who actually runs this place is me. Not them. And I welcome you here.
Sephiroth: *makes a tired sighing sound, then slowly heads back towards the base* Very well. But having that computer follow my every move while I explore is getting to be annoying. If I wanted help, I would ask for it. *pauses* I won’t bother that tempermental mechanical monster any more. *wriggles his bitten shoulder slightly, then heads back into the base*
Jenna: *sighs in relief and quickly moves to follow him* Thank you, Seph. Now, what were you doing in the cloning lab? I don’t think there is anything worthwhile in there… *shakes her head and shrugs to herself*
Meanwhile, a soft chuckling sound eminates through the area, coming from a shadowy area to the right of Sephiroth. There is the faint hint of a cat-like humanoid creature standing there, but it is hard to spot since its black fur is blending in with the shadows. “My, what a touching scene.”
Sephiroth: *grunts* I wasn’t doing anything there, I was just looking at it. I was just wandering through the stair area, and then I heard noises. I went to investigate. *shrugs* I was merely curious to know about what was in there, nothing more. *makes a soft growling noise, which rises in the back of his throat as he turns his head towards the source of the chuckling noise, narrowing his eyes as he hears somebody speak* Who’s there?
Jenna: *frowns as she recognizes the voice and gently nudges Sephiroth forward toward the base* We can continue this discussion later, Seph.. Right now, just continue walking. *glares at the shadows and scowls*
Clawina: *releases another chuckle and steps out of the shadows. She smirks and locks her eyes directly on Jenna* An old “friend” of that deceptive little human female. *briefly looks at Sephiroth, though she clearly is not interested in him* My name is Clawina Catanya, divine royalty over the feline race. *narrows her eyes and returns her attention to Jenna* Listen to the witch and leave, my buisness is with her, not you.
