Sephiroth: Yes, I can see that much. *slowly glances around the library area* This is quite a collection. *moves over to a random bookshelf and begins to examine the spines of the books, quickly noting that they are in many different languages* Hrmph, well I will not be borrowing many of these to read any time soon.
Jenna: *turns back around and sets the book down on the table in the middle of the room, mumbling* I don’t imagine that you would. You have no skill in casting magic and those books would do you no good. *glances at him so that she can carefully watch his movements* Just be careful, some of those books are rather old and some of them have enchantments on them.
Sephiroth: *snorts, nor really open to the idea that the book could hurt him* I’ll be careful. There’s no reason for me to touch books that I cannot even read anyway.
Jenna: Yes, I agree, there isn’t much reason for you to touch them. *mutters the words of the spell she is reading and commits them to memory. Meanwhile, since she is muttering the words to the spell, a strong hot breeze would seem to flow through the library*
Sephiroth: *scowls and looks up, wondering where the sudden breeze is coming from* What the hell is that? You have a window open somewhere… *grunts and moves away to look, not liking how uncomfortable the hot breeze is*
Jenna: Hm? *looks up from her book and stops reading from the spell. Soon afterwards, the breeze dies out* There are no windows in an underground fascility. What would it be a window to? *shakes her head*
Sephiroth: *growls* I know there are no windows underground, but there was quite clearly an overly warm breeze in here just now. I did not imagine it either, so do not accuse me of being crazy.
Jenna: Huh? When did I say you were crazy? I simply stated that you are being illogical in thinking that there is a window. I was just practicing a spell, that’s all. If it bothers you that much, I’ll go outside. *closes the book and straightens up*
Sephiroth: Oh, that’s what it was? *grunts* Keep practising in here, I do not really care. It just confused me, that is all. *moves to exit the library area, frowning in thought to himself. He heads back down to Jenna’s quarters and begins to explore the area, desiring to bathe*
Jenna: *Sighs and sets down the book, deciding it was best to follow Sephy for the time being* Would you prefer to have a tour of the place so you won’t get lost? For someone new to Halcyon, it’d be rather easy to loose yourself in the endless maze of tunels on some of these levels. I don’t think the dragons who originally dug these caves cared much for being organized and logical.
Sephiroth: *stops in the doorway and nods back at her* I suppose it would be useful to know where everything is. It will save me a few questions and annoyances. *motions for her to lead ahead of him* Lead the way. I shall be paying close attention.
Jenna: *nods at Sephy and moves infront of him* Then I suppose we shall start with the bottom up. *walks into her quarters* This is the room that I took for myself when… Well, this is my room. *waves her hand about* As you should already know. At one point in the past, it was just a lounging area for those who had recently bathed. *moves into the bathing room* And this is one of the largest hot springs in the world. *points over at the body of water* And used to be a location where public bathing occurred, so that’s why it’s so open. *nods toward the wall* I keep supplies, towels, and robes there.
Sephiroth: *just follows Jenna, taking careful note of her explanation, nodding silently as she speaks and introduces him to the various areas around the place. He slowly nods his head and continues to follow, glancing over at the robes and bathing supplies* I never approved of public bathing, but thank you for informing me about where it is.
Jenna: *Shrugs at Sephiroth* It is no longer all that public. There is no public for it to be shared with. *smirks and moves up to stand toe to toe with him* Unless of course, you’d rather like to have a bath with me? I could always entertain you with such.
Sephiroth: *Steps back from her, scowling* No thank you, Jenna. I would rather bathe alone. I am a man of many secrets and I like my privacy. I would prefer to have it kept that way. Besides, *grunts* I hate public bathing areas.
Jenna: *shrugs at him* Your loss. *walks toward a small maitanance hatch and opens it up with a bit of effort* If you wish, I can show you what creates this hot spring.
Sephiroth: *narrows his eyes as he sees the hatch, but walks towards it, nodding* Very well. Show me if you like. *glances down the hole, but waits for her to go down before following*
Jenna: *nods at Sephiroth and jumps down the hole. As she lands, she releases a soft “oof” sound. Still, she steps aside from the hatch and looks up at Sephy* Well, are you coming or not? Not scared, are you?
Sephiroth: *growls at Jenna’s comment and casually leaps down the hole, landing on the ground below. He walks along the ground to her, folding his arms* I am not scared. I do not ever become afraid, do not suggest such ever again. *grunts in annoyance* Lead the way.
Jenna: Sure you don’t. You are the Great Sephiroth afterall. *grins at him then walks forward. She would ignore any complaints that Seph gives her before finally stopping at a cliff that looks down on a pool of magma below* That would be what the core of this planet is filled with, molten rock. It is hot enough to heat up the ground water above and that ground water seeps up into the spring and creates a natural hot spring.
Sephiroth: *glances down at the molten rock and frowns in dissaproval* This is the planet’s lifeblood? It smells very unpleasant. *grunts* Why is it heated up? It has no reason to be. That makes no sense. *coughs slightly and fans the air in front of him* I am going to go back. I cannot stand the smell and heat, and it is making me dizzy.
Jenna: *chuckles and moves to face Sephiroth* What’s the matter? You can’t stand sulfuric fumes and tempertures up to a thousand kelvin? *broadly grins* And no, this is not a lifestream. This is what is called magma. Didn’t you listen to me? This is molten rock. The pressure of the rocks that forms the surface of the planet create friction in the core. The power of that friction and pressure creates massive ammounts of heat. And that heat melts the rock at the core of the planet. Thus, only the very outer portions of the planet are solid.
Sephiroth: *snorts* I get it. And no, I don’t like the smell. *covers his nose and mouth with his sleeve and turns around, heading back the way he came, scowling* *”I don’t like this place at all. Fine, the place is nice looking, and it is an impressive piece of natural occurance. But it stinks and the fumes are making me dizzy. I will be back upstairs.”*
Jenna: *broadly grins at Seph’s reaction* You know, it is said that those who can stand the fumes from the earth are the strongest of them all. And those who can practice martial arts in these conditions are even stronger still. *moves to follow Sephiroth*
