Sephiroth: *watches Desiree for several minutes, but doesn’t seem to mind about her hack job and just leaves her be* *”If you cut them into small pieces, they will cook faster.”* *shuffles away to take a seat at the table* *”After you are done, place them in the vegetable steamer.”*
Desiree: Huh? *she blinks and looks at Sephiroth, initially confused. She then broadly grins at him* I get ta cook ’em? *giggles and claps her hands, excited to finally be able to cook. She then stops and frowns* Wha a vegeetable steamer?
Sephiroth: *points to an applicance on the bench* *”Put water in the bottom, put the plastic table and the tray over the top. then put the vegetables on it and close the lid.”* *grins* *”That’s all you need to do.”*
Desiree: *Tilts her head as she listens to Sephiroth’s instructions. She then nods and quickly moves to follow Sephiroth’s instructions. However, once she’s all done, she stares and pokes at it* Fatha, how it get hot? No heat… No heat mean no steam.
Sephiroth: *”The applicance has a heating element inside of it. All you need to do is plug it in and turn it on. It will end up doing the rest. Once the water is boiling, you need only sit at the table and wait for it to finish steaming the vegetables through.”*
Desiree: Huh? Plug it in…? *frowns and looks around, trying to find a plug. Soon enough, she grabs onto the cord. She then looks around once more, still confused* There are plugs here, Fatha?
Sephiroth: *sighs and quietly slides out of his chair, walking over to the counter. He picks up the steamer appliance chord and gently plugs it into the wall, flicking a switch to turn the light on* Like this… *moves away again, then sits back down at the table*
Desiree: *blinks and looks at the plug. She then frowns in thought and looks up at Sephiroth* Fatha, aren’t these thanes made by humans? How we geh powa for ’em? *As soon as Sephiroth sits down, she hops off the chair that she was in and rushes over to sit in his lap*
Sephiroth: H… *”How do we get anything?”* *shrugs his shoulders and moves an arm around her* *”It’s a mystery, isn’t it? If I remember correctly, I think this facility generates it’s own electricity and power, thus eliminating the need to get anything from the humans.”*
Desiree: *looks up at Sephiroth, still confused. She then snuggles up against his side* Buh fatha.. Even with electricity.. How we have the right plugs? Why we have plugs made for humans? It make no sense…
Sephiroth: The… *points to the power outlet* *”The plug on the wall is the same as the appliances.”* *nods slightly* *”They match. I don’t know why we have the same plugs as the humans use. I suppose they were installed for convenience.”*
Desiree: All humans use the same plugs? *giggles at the thought* I though humans can’t agree on anythane. That’s wha you always say, Fatha. You say they stupid and corrupt idiots. Righ?
Sephiroth: *”You are correct. They don’t agree on most everything, Desiree. The ones we used in Midgar were different to these. And the ones in Wutai were different again.”* *grunts* *”A lot of the humans are stubborn and stupid in their own ways, yes. And yes, many are corrupt. Not all of them, but the majority are idiots.”*
Desiree: *Nods and grins at Sephiroth* Idiots. They mean and stupid. Make fatha suffa… Motha make fatha suffa most. *She shakes her head and pats his side. She then looks up* Food done?
Sephiroth: *scowls* *”I don’t know what is going on… but I don’t really want to discuss it right now. Understood?”* *glances over at the steamer and then at the grill, shrugging* *”You only just put them in. How could they be done already?”*
Desiree: *shrugs* ~I don’t know cooking, Father. How should I know.~ *she then snuggles up against his side once more* Wan food now, though.. *sends him another telepathic message, indicating that she’s hungry*
Sephiroth: *frowns* No excuse.. *”If you eat food that isn’t cooked, then you will end up sick. Sit down and wait, please.”* *reaches over to grab a chair, pulling it up beside him. He then pats the cushion, nodding at Desiree, wanting her to come over and sit* *”Come here. I’m sure I can entertain you and make the time pass a little faster.”*
Desiree: *pouts, not liking the idea that she has to wait for her food. She then blinks and looks at the other chair. Frowning, she looks back up at Sephiroth* Why can’t I stay here? *she points at his lap* Comfy here, Fatha..
Sephiroth: *sighs* *”Very well. Stay wherever you like. We are only waiting on food to cook, you know. It does not bother me where you choose to sit at the end of all of this.”* *closes his eyes and begins to hum aloud*
Desiree: *Broadly grins then nods* Yay! I like it here. *she snuggles up against Seph’s stomach. Not long after he begins to hum, she joins in, even though she doesn’t really know the tune at all*
Sephiroth: *continues to hum the tune, going slower once Desiree joins in. He slowly moves his arms around her and lovingly nuzzles her head with his chin, beginning to purr. His unhappiness and lonely feelings would be quite evident right now, and he leans back in the chair, seeming at least content with cuddling his daughter* *”I’m glad you like it here… just be sure to keep an eye on the food so it doesn’t burn.”*
Desiree: *nods in an overexaggerated manner, mostly because she’s excited to help her father. She then pats his abdomen* No worry. Will watch. Food no burn. *she then returns to randomly humming, finding it quite fun. However, she lifts her head after a few minutes* Food done?
Sephiroth: *hums for a few moments before shaking his head* W… *”Wait about another five minutes. Why don’t you entertain yourself downstairs while it cooks? I’m sure there’s something you can find to do. And reading… you could probably read a book, yes?”* *lowers his left arm, pondering for a moment* *”I’d go and get a book, but by the time I get down there, my food will have cooked and started burning.”*
Desiree: *looks up at Sephiroth and shakes her head* No. Not ever leaving your side, Fatha. Will wait forevea. *She grins at him then pats his stomach* Can wait. Not like Motha.
Sephiroth: Y… y… y-y-your mother still loves me… *lowers his head, wishing Desiree wouldn’t bring it up so much* She just had to be somewhere else… *”Please, stop bringing it up. I’ve told you over and over again. There’s nothing more to discuss on this subject.”* *sighs and gently nudges her off, slowly moving to his feet* *”You can eat if you want. I think I’ve lost my appetite.”*
