Jenna: *Shrugs at Sephiroth* You’ve called me “mother” numerous times while you’ve been asleep, Seph. I can’t tell you the why. Only you can answer that. However, if you need proof.. not that this can really be counted as real proof.. *begins sending him telepathic impressions of her memories of Sephiroth calling her “mother”*
Sephiroth: *scowls, not liking it. He doesn’t protest this time though, and snorts* Fine… I’ll try not to do it again. I don’t really know why I did it in the first place. *sighs and moves to snuggle up against her*
Jenna: *wraps her arms about Seph and gives him a gentle hug* Don’t worry much about it, Seph. You are asleep when you do it. People have a tendency to say strange things in their sleep no matter what. *shrugs* I suppose it could be a lot worse given who you are. *moves in to gently kiss him*
Sephiroth: I can agree with that… *moves his head in to meet her kiss, grinning* *”You say strange things in your sleep too.”* *moves his arms around her properly, then tries to encourage her to lie ontop of him*
Jenna: Mmm… *Shrugs* I suppose I can believe that. *chuckles at Sephiroth then slides ontop of him* I hope you realize that I intend on going to sleep soon.
Sephiroth: I’m not going to stop you from doing that. I’m not tired though. I can stay awake and monitor the infant. It won’t be terribly hard. There’s enough food and supplies upstairs to take care of her.
Jenna: Mmm… *slides off of him* That’s good. Good night, my love. *pats the side of his head. She then snuggles up against him. Soon enough, she’d be asleep*
Sephiroth: *remains nearby as Jenna falls asleep, purring at her. He doesn’t seem concerned when she drifts off to sleep, and remains nearby so she can rest and stay warm* Goodnight. *relaxes on the bed, sighing, staring up at the ceiling, pondering the day’s events*
Jenna: *remains close to Sephiroth as she sleeps. She seems quite content as she sleeps. In fact, she doesn’t even have a single nightmare for this one night*
Sephiroth: *remains nearby so he can keep her company. He drifts off to sleep himself before too long and would end up waking before Jenna does, especially if Desiree begins to cry*
*The next few months remain more or less uneventful. The cycle of waking up and feeding, changing, or cleaning Desiree continues. Eventually, she gets to a point where she starts spouting out what Jenna terms as “pointless babble”. Unfortunately for Sephy, Jenna has a tendency to hand Desiree over to him when Desiree gets a bit too loud with the babbling nonsense.
As for the three Sephiroth clones, Jenna is happy enough to notice that they are mostly just lost and clueless as to what to do. She’d send MS to beat them up if they start bothering the local raptor tribes or other things like that. However, she tolerates them for the most part.
Unfortunately for Hojo, Jenna does not tolerate him at all if she finds him doing something of her disliking. She’d more than gleefully beat him up on several occasions, if given the chance.
As for today, Jenna is in the bedroom, reading up on information concerning the first food and what is best for an infant. She seems rather displeased. In addition, she’s handed off Desiree to Sephiroth, for him to entertain her, as she reads*
Sephiroth: *has been entertaining himself with bouts of training and so forth, also keeping an eye on Jenna, and staying around for her. Today however, he has carried Desiree into his library pending Jenna’s wishes, and has placed her into an infant’s play pen complete with some toys to keep her entertained while he reads, though he is mostly peering over the top of the book to watch her antics as well as keep an eye on her*
Desiree: *has gotten bored with her games. So, she crawls over to the edge of the pen. Then, she slowly tries to pull herself up to her feet. As soon as she has an uneasy stance, she reaches out for Sephiroth and grunts with effort. She then whines, indicating that she wants him*
Sephiroth: *glances up at her, seeming amused as she grunts. He rises to his feet, then moves over to the pen and crouches down in front of her, smirking* What do you want? *reaches out towards her, easily picking her up* If you start pulling at my hair, or the pages of my book, then… *sets her in his arms properly, then moves back to his chair*
Desiree: *grins up at Sephiroth and hugs him. She then looks up at him and senselessly makes babbling noises that don’t really have much of a meaning at all. Her hair is a bit long at the moment, and her bangs are slightly obscuring her eyes*
Sephiroth: *once he is seated in his chair again, he reaches over to move Desiree’s hair out of her eyes, seeming amused* You’re going to need a hair cut soon. You know that, right? *leans back in the chair and picks up his book again so he can resume reading*
Desiree: *blinks and looks up at Sephiroth as he brushes her hair out of her face. She then grins and hugs him* ‘exy.
Sephiroth: What… *frowns at her speech, then shakes his head* Who taught you that? *picks Desiree up again and heads for the next room, frowning at Jenna* Do you have a moment to talk?
Desiree: *reaches up for Sephiroth’s hair and tries to tug on it* ‘exy! ‘exy! ‘exy!
Jenna: *looks up from the books that she was reading. She then cocks her eeybrow as she hears Desiree speak* I suppose so….
Sephiroth: *raises an eyebrow back at Jenna, then glances back at Jenna* Did you teach her that? *frowns* She’s calling me ‘sexy’ by the sounds of things. I never once taught her that. What about you? Did you say it repeatedly at any point?
Jenna: *Snorts at Sephiroth* She could have heard the word at any point, Seph. She does sleep right there. *points at the crib on the other side of the room. Then she turns her hand down to their bed* And, we sleep here. There’s several times where we say things much worse, by your definition, than “sexy”… *narrows her eyes* Anyway, are you certain? It could just be the first two syllables of your name…
Desiree: *Whimpers, not liking that she’s being ignored. She then reaches up to sharply tug on Sephiroth’s hair* ‘exy!
Sephiroth: It’s not the first two syllables of my name. *frowns* She is saying ‘sexy’, can you hear it? *flinches as Desiree pulls on his hair and growls at her, holding her at an arm’s length* Cut it out. My name is Sephiroth, not ‘sexy’. And you should be calling me ‘father’.
Desiree: *whimpers as she is held away from Sephiroth, at least somewhat. She then begins to loudly cry*
Jenna: *Shrugs* Children at that age are known to mispronounce words… The “ex” could very well be a “eph”… They are close enough. *sighs at Desiree’s crying* Seph, do you really need to upset her?
Sephiroth: *frowns* She’s pulling my hair! Of course she should know that’s wrong to do. It also hurts. *loudly harrumphs* And besides, she’s incorrect. *holds Desiree properly again, then lightly pokes her nose* ‘Father’. Not ‘sexy’. *scowls in irritation*
