Jenna: *frowns at Seph then shakes her head* You know, you could help then. It will be quite a handful for me to keep her from drowning while I give her a bath. Don’t you think? *Shakes her head at him. She then sits down in the shallows. Soon enough, she begins to strip down Desiree*
Sephiroth: *moves back over to Jenna, humming slightly as he reaches out to attempt taking the infant off Jenna’s hands* I don’t think it matters if her clothes become wet. *holds Desiree still, frowning at her. He telepathically indicates for her to stay still*
Jenna: *shakes her head at Seph* It matters if I am attempting to actually give the girl a bath though, Seph. You can’t exactly scrub her skin through clothing. *She moves off to the side. She then grips onto a bar of soap. Returning to Seph’s side, she begins to scrub down Desiree, being gentle about it*
Desiree: *whimpers at the feel. She wiggles about a bit. However, she manages to stay still for the most part*
Sephiroth: What? What did you think I was implying? *raises an eyebrow at her* I wasn’t saying to wash her with her clothes on. I was saying that if they get splashed, or wet, it doesn’t matter. So don’t make any effort to keep them dry. I don’t know how you reached the other conclusion. I wish I knew where you get such strange ideas. *continues to hold Desiree still, frowning at her* Maybe you should distract her by tickling her.
Jenna: *glances up at Seph and shrugs* Sorry, I thought you meant that I shouldn’t be bothering to take off her clothes while I bathe her. I misunderstood your intentions. *she continues to gently scrub the girl* As for tickling, I think not. We want her to stay still, not go squirming all over the place anew.
Sephiroth: I can’t keep her still. She’s going to get more upset with the longer you go on there. Please finish it quickly. *telepathically expresses his desires for Desiree to stay still. He raises up a hand, placing it front of her face, hoping she’ll play with it*
Desiree: *reaches out for the hand, grinning*
Jenna: I’m almost done, Seph. *finishes with the soap. She then glances up at Desiree’s fluff of hair then frowns* Well, you can rinse off the soap suds. However, her hair still needs to be cleaned. *she then pulls off to the side so she can grab some shampoo*
Sephiroth: Just don’t get it in her eyes. I don’t really want to have World War III on my hands. *splashes Desiree off with spring water while Jenna is away getting the shampoo* There’s a special variety of that stuff you can get for infants. I advise looking for some.
Jenna: Well, I can’t exactly get any at the moment, now can I? *shakes her head at him then smirks at him* And World War III? Hmph, someone’s been on Earth too long already for him to be making statements like those. *she places a small dab of shampoo into her hand. She then begins to gently massage it into Desiree’s hair*
Sephiroth: *keeps Desiree positioned in a tilted-back manner and telepathically communicates to her that she should stay still for the time being as her mother is trying to do something important* I haven’t been on earth too long. I just used it as a statement because you would have been familiar with it.
Desiree: *whimpers slightly. She responds back with an impression that she’d rather not be so wet. However, she manages to stay still more or less. Rather, she just stares up at Sephiroth*
Jenna: Is that so? And what, might I ask, type of phrase would you have used if I had come from your planet, hm? *finishes lathering up Desiree’s hair. She then looks at Sephiroth and nods* You may rinse her off.
Sephiroth: Hmm? You want to know my planet’s equivalent to that? *thinks for a few moments* I suppose it would be the apocalypse, or perhaps the arrival of the Calamity from the skies. Take your pick. *sighs and keeps Desiree still, trying to indicate to her that it’s nearly over*
Jenna: *rolls her eyes at Sephiroth* Well, that isn’t overly different from something that I would have understood, Seph. *begins to gently splash water on Desiree in order to rinse her off. Once that is done, she moves out of the spring and gathers a towel to dry herself off with* You can handle drying her off, right?
Sephiroth: So I decided to use the earth example. So what? *frowns and nods* I can dry her off easily. That is the easiest part of all. *steps out of the spring himself, picking up a towel to bundle around Desiree. He then picks up another towel to dry off himself, placing it around his waist awkwardly due to the fact he only has one free hand to use* Hmph… *steps out of the room altogether*
Jenna: Hmm…? *Shakes her head at Sephiroth* I was just teasing you about it. You may use as many earth phrases as you wish. Disown your own planet if that makes you feel better. *Drops the towel that she was using to dry herself off with to the side. She then strolls to the walk-in closet so that she can get dressed* I take it that you want to get even more items for the child today then?
Sephiroth: I’m not buying anything we don’t need for the infant. She has everything she needs, more or less, for the time being. *frowns* I am not an impulse buyer, I don’t know where you got that idea. I only bought the essentials for the infant so far. *snorts and carries Desiree out of the room, carrying her back into the main room so he can set her down and begin drying her off properly*
Jenna: Oh, so the girl needed about a dozen toys within her first month of life, hm? *shakes her head at Seph* Anyway, what does it matter. Go wild with the shopping. We can afford it, for money means nothing to me.
Sephiroth: I didn’t buy her a dozen. *glares* I bought her five, six if you count the dragon plush. And none of them were stupid babyish things either. I wouldn’t get her one of those pathetic plastic hanging things for her crib, as I hate them. I am not obsessed.
Jenna: *moves closer to Seph. She then sets her hands on her hips and leans in closer to him* Why must you constantly try to justify your actions? *shakes her head at him* I told you, there is no reason why you can’t spend as much as you want on your daughter. You know full well that I can provide near to infinite funds. Hence, you can buy the girl anything and everything.
Sephiroth: *picks Desiree up again, having finished rubbing her dry* I don’t really want to do that. I don’t want her to be the opposite of what I was – having everything and being a spoiled little brat with no bounds. *places her down in the crib, then picks up a diaper to place on her* I am really growing to hate these things.
Jenna: *shakes her head at Seph* I still do not want you to worry about excessive spending, playing with her, or anything else. *Sighs* Either way, we need to get something to properly clean her hair with. *glances at the diaper* And more of those.
Sephiroth: Phh, I’ll get whatever she needs. That doesn’t mean I am going to go out on the same shopping expeditions to buy things she doesn’t need. She’s not even a month old. Why does she need anything apart from the essentials?
Jenna: *shrugs at Sephiroth* That is yours to decide, Seph. However, most males tend to spoil their daughters. *mutters* Not that I’d really know. *she shrugs once more. Then, she begins walking up the stairs, intending to head to Houston, Texas so that she can get things that Desiree will need*
Sephiroth: I’m not sure if that’s a true statement, Jen. *watches her leave, confused* *”Where are you going?”* *finds some clean clothing and begins to place it on the infant, being slow and careful as he goes about it, not wanting to hurt her*
