Bael: *doesn’t seem affected as Desiree tries to attack his mind. Instead, he seems angry by the gesture and growls at her, stopping again so he can swing around to face her once more* This has nothing to do with you. NOTHING. *stomps back to her and tries to pick her up by her arm* Meddlesome humans.
Desiree: *releases a pained noise as she’s picked up by her arm. She then growls and glares up at the demon* It involves me because it involves my friend. I told you this before. *she then tries to crush the hand that is holding onto her arm with her psychic powers* You clearly don’t know my family’s legacy…
Bael: Clearly I don’t know it. *rumbles* Clearly, I don’t care. Your earthly lineage is of no significance to me. **growls as Desiree crushes his arm. He raises her higher into the air before dropping her, growling* Don’t meddle in my affairs again. If you are concerned about the elf.. *snarls* I am not going to kill him. No… he’s more valuable to me alive. However, *glares hard at Kalysto* A servant going against its master is an act of insolence that must be punished.
Desiree: *yelps as she’s dropped, but she prompty levitates in order to prevent herself from smashing into the ground* You should be concerned though… *she desperately looks around, still not willing to let the demon harm Kalysto. She then finds a large boulder with a sharp end before trying to lift it with her psychic powers and slam it into the demon’s back*
Bael: *hisses as the rock bashes into his wing bases and roars in defiance at Desiree. He picks up the rock easily and hurls it back at her* Cease and decist with your pathetic behaviour! *stomps his hooves on the ground again, then grabs Kalysto by the collar, carrying him away from the area*
Desiree: *quickly pulls up a psychic barrier to protect herself. However, she is still smacked back as the rock smashes against her sheild. She then hisses in frustration as she spots the demon grabbing Kalysto* No.. I don’t just stand by while people I care about are hurt.. *she concentrates on strengthening her shield. Soon enough, she attempts to fly through the air and ram into the demon herself*
Bael: *growls in anger as Desiree slams into his back. He makes a baleful howling roar and throws Kalysto on the ground in his frustration* You want it that badly? *grits his teeth* Fine. Have your stupid elf, then! *snarls* I will find another. There are so many frivolous idiots in this world. One of them is bound to make a decent servant.
Desiree: *pants slightly with exhaustion, mostly because she’s not used to exercising her psychic abilities too much. However, she promptly dashes to Kalysto’s side as he’s trown onto the ground* Kalysto? Are you alright? *She then frowns at the demon* Why should anyone want to be an idiot’s servant?
Kalysto: *scowls, but moves to his feet and slowly dusts himself off* Because of the power it brings… *sighs and slowly shakes his head, glancing at Desiree hopelessly before he returns his attention to the departing demon* Fuck..
Desiree: *frowns as she watches Kalysto move about, trying to check him over for any serious injury. She then notices the way that he’s looking at the demon* If you really want it back.. then go after it, Kalysto.
Kalysto: *sighs and lowers his head* You pissed it off now… it knows what I want and now that it’s angry, it’s going to not give it to me. I didn’t exactly want it to throw me around, but that’s the most attention it’s paid to me in a while. *rubs the back of his head, looking quite conflicted* This would have been easier if it had never used you to break away…
Desiree: *averts her attention to the ground and sighs* Yea… But I didn’t know that it wouldn’t just go back like it said it would. *she shakes her head then moves to gently grap onto Kalysto’s right hand* If you’re not going to chase after it… let’s just go back “home”. It’s been a long day..
Kalysto: *looks heavily conflicted* I don’t want to lose it. It’s the only tie to my mother that I have. *furrows his brows in irritation, then shakes his head and dismissively waves a hand* Yeah, you’re right. I’ll get it back some other time.
Desiree: Ah.. I see… *she nods her head with understanding* I’m certain that you’ll get it back sooner or later. *she then gives him a small grin* I have faith in you. *she then begins to lead him back to the base*
*During the following months, Desiree sticks around mostly upstairs, helping out with both Kalysto and Rhyderi when the currently young boy acts out. She’s also handed over Rhyderi’s armor and weapons to the boy since she can’t think of anything better to do with them. During this time, she’d continue to ask Kalysto to teach her what he knows about the dark arts tied with his choosen class of magic.
As for Jenna, she continues to detteriorate. The discoloration of her skin is hard to miss at this stage, for she has several dark splotches that trace up and down hre body. Also, her eyes seem to have taken a look similar to Sephiroth’s eyes, but the coloration remains her own. On most days, she seems to be more or less comatose, barely even having outbreaks from her other side. However, there are times that she seems to be talking to no one. Luckily, she’s only a few weeks away from being due*
Sephiroth: *like the adamant protector he is, he keeps a close watch over Jenna and tends to her needs despite the fact she deteriorates more and more as time progresses. He still continues to be her primary caretaker despite any outbursts or shifts in personality that may occur*
Kalysto: *spends a lot of his time brooding in his room by himself, at least when Desiree isn’t bugging him about demonology studies. Now that he has successfully pawned the egg off onto his surrogate father, he pretty much ignores its existance*
Jenna: *cracks open her eyes as she wakes for the day. She then frowns in discomfort before turning to face Sephiroth. Soon enough, she begins to nudge him* Hurts… *whimpers as if to accentate the pain that she’s currently feeling*
Desiree: *is less than pleased that Kalysto has passed off the egg to someone else. So, she frequently mentions to him that he shoudl take some part in his offspring’s life. However, she doesn’t force him to take it for now. As for today, she’s checking up on Rhyderi. So, she’s sitting on the floor near to him* Hmm… I wonder if his memories are coming back yet..
Rhyderi: *is entertaining himself by drawing pictures of large elven spires. He has stuck some of them up around his room in a vague attempt to replicate his remembered surroundings when he lived in Quel’thalas. He draws a large tall spire with some pencils and picks up another sheet of paper to add to the bottom of it*
Sephiroth: *sighs at Jenna and scans her belly, frowning at her* Would you like me to get you some pain killers?
Desiree: *moves a bit closer to Rhyderi then reaches down to gently pat the top of his head* Hey.. How are you doing? *she frowns, still a bit sad about the fact that he had been changed into a little boy*
Jenna: *winces at the pain that she’s feeling. She then looks up at Sephiroth and thinks over what he’s asking for several good moments* I.. I guess…
Rhyderi: *rather calmly* Drawing. *picks up one of the other sketches and tries to hand it to her. The picture contains several crudely drawn elves all varying sizes* That’s my mom. And my dad. And my baby brother. And my Aunt Myhm. And my Uncle Arnasa. I’m going to stick it on the wall with the others. It’s the best I can do.
Sephiroth: *slowly nods his head at Jenna and moves to take some painkillers out of a drawer so he can pop a couple and offer them to her with a glass of water*
Desiree: *Softly sighs at the boy as he shows her the piture* You do know that Kalysto isn’t that small anymore, right? *she glances at the armor that she had left with the boy before* Do you remember when you got those yet?
Jenna: *whimpers in pain once more. She then slowly shifts to face Sephiroth. She blankly stares at the pills as he offers them* Umm.. what are these again?
Rhyderi: They’re nobody’s, I told you that before. They don’t look like the armor the royal guards wear, and they smell funny. Nothing to do with me. *resumes his drawing*
Sephiroth: *sighs* They are pills. They will dissolve in your stomach and take the pain away. Place them one at a time in your mouth, take a large mouthful of water, tilt your head back and swallow hard.
Desiree: *releases a soft sigh* No… you were wearing them. *she frowns in thought then grins* Hey, I can do something for you that you’ll probably enjoy. Your head is going to feel a bit of tingling though. But don’t be alarmed. *with that, she delves into his mind to observe his memories of the scenery that he’s been trying to draw. Soon enough, she gleans enough imagery from his memories to create an illusion spell that would make the room appear to be akin to his old home in Quel’thalas*
Jenna: Oh… ok. *she nods and takes the pills. Soon enough, she swallows them down* Still hurts. *she glances to the side* Need doctor?
Rhyderi: *moves to his feet, seeming mesmerized by the scenery around him. He slowly nods, then grins* Yeah, that’s what I was trying to draw. Your magic is pretty good. Not as good as my mother though – she’s a mage. She can blow things up. *chuckles, then sits back down, looking a little sad* But yes… that’s what it looked like before. Before they came and killed everyone.
Sephiroth: *sighs* Give the pills some time to work… *scans over Jenna again, finding nothing out of the ordinary*
Desiree: Well, I can leave this illusion in place indefinitely. *She shrugs* It’s not that hard of a spell to maintain. *she then gives him a small grin* It should even move about and try to simulate what it was like at your home… *She then frowns* A mage, huh? That’s strange… Kalysto says she was a warlock..
Jenna: Ok… *she sighs and just lies there for now. If Sephiroth were to scan long enough, it is possible that he’d notice that her water has broken and that she’s starting to have contractions*
Rhyderi: *very flatly, and firm* She’s a mage.
Sephiroth: *continues his scans over Jenna. After a few more moments of this, he looks quite bothered* This shouldn’t be happening… *glances up at the ceiling to sigh and attempt to compose himself. Then he quickly moves off to the infirmary to grab various supplies and towels*
