Seres: *blinks as she listens to Zack then turns around to give him a strange look* You stole from that idiotic lady?? Why the fuck did you do that? *Shakes her head* Nevermind, I dont’ want to know what the hell was going through your mind to make you want to steal from the military. *looks up at Sephy* Will Zack be in big trouble if they find that he stole medicines from that woman? *Frowns* And I’d rather have you tell me what makes her a “special” case, Father. If she is so special, she’ll probably not want to talk about it to me.
Noemi: *nods in agreement* Yes, that does sound reasonable. *frowns* But you didn’t answer the second question.. Do you regret that we came here on our own without even trying to find a single one of our children?
Sephiroth: *walks towards the elevator and presses the button to go down* He won’t get into any trouble if nobody hears you speaking aloud like that. *holding the elevator doors open for Seres and Zack once they open* If you want to know about the female, wait until I find out whom it is. I can tell you anything about them once I find out their recruit number. This army labels everybody they receive with a number for reference purposes.
Zack: *quietly* Yeah, Seres… shut up, okay? Do you wanna get me in shit or something?
General Seph: *grunts, not seeming to like the question* There’s over forty of them. Which ones should I regret leaving behind?
Seres: *Scowls* I wasn’t talking all that loud. *Snorts* Anyway, I wouldn’t need to worry about my volume if someone hadn’t become a kleptomaniac. *shoots Zack a dirty look then sticks her tongue out at him* Mother and father both have money, you do not need to go around stealing medicine from the military. *looks up at Sephiroth* We’re numbered? What’s my number, Father?
Noemi: *softly speaks* I thought there were many more than just fourty around.. *slowly shakes her head and sighs* But yes, I suppose you’re right. It just seems a bit… unfair to them for us to have left them like that… *shrugs* Then again, the Spratans have just as many experiments going on them as we did.
Sephiroth: *is silent for a moment as he looks it up via his neural implants* 0132779. That was the number that General Seph just wrote on your application form and posted in the database about two minutes ago now.
General Seph: There were over three hundred Spartans, Noemi. But you are right, not even half of those survived until the end of their augmentation processing, and lived on to fight in the war. If you ever want to go back and get some of our offspring, we can always ask that woman who got us out in the first place.
Seres: *sticks her tongue out at the set of numbers* That’s not even easily memorizable. *shakes her head* Why can’t they just file us as our names? Why do they have to assign numbers to us as if we were auction goods?
Noemi: *deeply sighs* That is up to you, General… *lowers her head* If we return as is, we’ll be executed as traitors. *presses her lips together* I just hope that our departure hasn’t made the government decide that our offspring may just vanish and go AWOL as well… I’d rather not have them be punished for things that was decided to do on our own.
Sephiroth: You’re filed as your name as well. The problem is, some people do not have last names. I don’t, your mother doesn’t, and you don’t. If there is more than one “Seres” in the army, things could become confused with each other now couldn’t they. *walks out of the elevator and heads for the female’s dorm area*
Zack: Whenever I get asked for my last name, I just write “Smith” or something. Nobody can check it up.
Seres: *mumbles* But Father, isn’t your father’s last name Hojo? Doesn’t that make your last name Hojo and thus mine the same..? I mean, it would seem logical that would be our family name.. At least, a lot more sense than Smith. *shoots Zack a dirty look then shrugs* And who else other than our family doesn’t have last names.
Sephiroth: *snorts* I do not like that last name at all. Though I suppose, it is our surname if you really desire to get into that stupid piece of information. *scowls, clearly not liking the idea. He walks down the corridor and opens the door to Seres’s dorm* Here you are. You may stay here, or come outside with me to the press conference. I said I would answer some of their questions.
Zack: Lots of people. Like, um… er… *thinks* Tyler.
Seres: *frowns at Zack* Gainsborough. Tyler’s last name is Gainsborough. He took his mother’s last name because she raised him. *snorts* How could you have not known that? *shakes her head then walks into the dorm room. She looks around for a few moments* Do I have a specific assigned bed, Father, or do I just pick whichever one I like?
Sephiroth: Well, the other female is not around yet, so feel free to stake a claim on whichever bed you like. They are both the same in my opinion, really. *moves back towards the door, glancing at the numbers indexed on it* Ah, yes… 0132775. *glances back at Seres* Do you really want to know what’s written in this female’s history files?
Zack: *pokes his tongue out at Seres and walks into the dorm room with her* I knew that, I was testing you. My last name is never going to be Hojo. Perhaps “Jennason” if anything, but no way am I going to select Hojo for a last name. He was whack, and wanted to screw around with me right from day one of my life. Sephiroth left me with him for a few days, even. *shakes his head*
Seres: *sticks her tongue out at Zack* Jennason? That sounds stupid. Anyway, it’s traditional to take the name of the father then add “son”, not the mother. *turns her attention back to Sephiroth and nods* Yes, please. I’d like to know what I’m getting into, Father. I don’t want to find that she’s a complete nut case. *sits down on the right hand bed, finding it to be satisfactory. Then, she tosses her bags on the bed* And I’ll claim this bed. *grins*
Zack: Er, Jenson then? *shrugs* Sephiroth doesn’t have a last name. And “Sephson” sounds really crappy.
Sephiroth: *smirks in amusement at Seres* Well, she’s not a nutcase as you so bluntly put it, but well… *shrugs* Your mother and myself very recently had a prostitute house shut down and the owner killed. The females were taken into the army’s protection. Some were redistributed to other cities to begin new lives, some ended up choosing to become residents of Junon, and some decided to attach themselves with some of our soldiers here and share rooms with them. This paticular female who will be your room mate was taken into the army’s care as well, but she has decided to join the military as a soldier. She is 17 years and four months old.
Seres: *rolls her eyes at Zack* You don’t even have a father, Zack. You were born out a test tube. Why don’t you put your name as “Tubeson”? *frowns as she listens to Sephiroth* Huh? She was a prostitute before? How does that make her a special case? I don’t understand what would make her in need of special treatment because of that. It’s just plain stupid. *snorts*
Sephiroth: She’s an ex-mako addict, making her a perfect candidate for the army. She was just listed as a special case because of those reasons. *shrugs* If she causes you any trouble, I can authorize to have you relocated to another area.
Zack: *folds his arms and glares at Seres* Tubeson sucks as a surname…
Seres: A Mako addict…? I didn’t know that Mako was available to the general public like that… *shakes her head* I mean weren’t only SOLDIERs given Mako treatments when you were an active General.. Still, I don’t think that I’ll have any problems with her. *looks over at Zack* Well, you are the son of a cloning tube, not Jenna or Sephiroth. It’s only the truth.
Sephiroth: *grunts* She lived in Mideel. The Lifestream is exposed to the air there. It’s very easy to just walk over to it with a bucket and scoop some up and start abusing it. You may find her strange. *shrugs* I am going to leave now. Enjoy your stay here. *pauses* Oh yes, the girl’s name is ‘Lende’. She listed her sexual preference as ‘bisexual’. If she expresses sexual desire in you, you can always kick her.
Seres: If she expresses sexual interest in me, I’ll direct her to Dimitri or Zack over here. *looks at the bags that Sephiroth had been carrying for her* Can I have the rest of my stuff, Father? I’d like to start unpacking so that I can rest easy tonight. *stands up and unzips the smaller bags that she had been carrying*
Sephiroth: *glances towards the door and pulls in her bigger bag* There. Take all the time you want unpacking. You’re going to be here at least two years minimum. You will have access to a doctor and other medical facilities. Assuming you end up enjoying it, you will also have the opportunity to move into your own living space on the higher levels. I had my own space when I became a first-class soldier. It was pleasant to have my own space, apart from the fact that my comrades kept sneaking in without my permission.
Zack: Hey, don’t direct her onto me! I have a woman. And a kid, and Xel, who is basically like a kid to me.
Seres: Only two years? I thought that it could take up to four years to finish all the training that the academy provides.. *shrugs and grins* I’ll make certain that I achieve first class level in two years, Father. It should be no problem. *looks over at him, curious now. Meanwhile, she completely ignores Zack* Hey, what were your roommates like when you were in the dorms? Were they good or bad?
Sephiroth: *snorts* They loved porn magazines, were woman-obsessed, and masturbation-loving idiots. One also was also sexually attracted to men. I was the subject of much of their stupid jokes. Once you looked past their many many faults however, I suppose they were not that bad.
Seres: *Cocks her eyebrows as she listens to Sephiroth’s statements then slowly shakes her head* Well, I certainly hope that my roomate isn’t that bad. I don’t need to become the butt of jokes while I’m trying to upshow you, Father. *broadly smirks* Did you want me to come with you and help you with that press conference stuff?
Sephiroth: *shrugs* It is up to you. I do not care either way. You may allow yourself to settle in here and read the documentation, or come down to the bottom level to speak with the media. Either way it is up to you. *heads for the door* Enjoy your time here any case.
Zack: I’m glad I’m not joining the military.. *thrusts his hands into his pockets and follows Sephy*
Seres: *frowns in thought for a few minutes, considering her options. Then, she stands up and rushes to catch up to Sephiroth* Father, wait up. I don’t want to make you face all those idiotic reporters on your own. We might as well give them what they’re looking for. *nearly slams into Zack as she catches up to Sephiroth and begins to walk at his side*
Sephiroth: *heads for the elevator once more* That’s your decision. Personally I would have stayed behind if I were you. Get acquainted with the area, your room, your new room mate. It may not have been a good idea to leave your items behind in the room and unguarded. What if the female is a thief?
Zack: Hey watch it! *moves aside* Be careful next time.
Seres: Huh? *Frowns and looks back at her dorm* But if she steals my stuff, wouldn’t she only be able to put it on her side of the room? *shakes her head* I mean there are guards that would question her if she tries to take it outside, right? *walks into the elevator, standing next to Sephiroth* Do you really think my stuff is in danger? Maybe I should make Zack stand guard. *smirks and glances over at her brother*
