Noemi: ~Hm, his nueral implants would definitely give all information that they’ve recorded since he had them installed without any distortions due to biases. Perhaps it will be an idea to scour his implants for information. You remember how to do that without being caught, right?~ *looks up at Zack and eyes him over before slowly shaking her head* No, I do not approve of having family members performing physicals for legal purposes. *shakes her head* One of our official doctors will be present soon and they will perform the examination. *frowns at Seres* ~She seems scared of doctors… But she said she’s never been to one. That does not make sense.~
Seres: ~Well, you should have done it then..~ *frowns then leans up against Seph’s side, not liking the situation in the least* ~This really sucks, Father. I don’t want to do this…~
Sephiroth: *sighs* *”I don’t have any advice. It’s not that bad really. The sooner you do it, the sooner it’s over with, think of it that way. It’s not that invasive. Just do it to satisfy them, because after it’s over you get to begin your new life here.”*
General Seph: *”Her nervousness does not make sense to me either…”* *frowns in thought* *”I will read into the other Sephiroth’s mind through his implants, but not right away. He would be expecting it right now.”*
*there is a knock at the door and a very short female Physician pokes her head in the doorway* I’m ready to take the applicant to the exam room now. *glances at Zack whom she assumes is the applicant* I was under the assumption we were getting a female, not a male.
Seres: ~It’s not that bad? But what about all those stories you told me? All about what your doctors used to do to you and how they violated you? How can it not be that bad and yet they’d do all those things… I don’t understand, Father…~ *shakes her head then scowls as the physician thinks that Zack is her* Feh, does that idiot look like he can lift a single pound? *snorts* He’s not joining the army, he’s a wuss. *steps forward and looks at the doctor* So, where am I supposed to go?
Noemi: ~Yes, I suppose you are correct. Still, if he doesn’t know that it’s happening, what does it matter anyway?~ *indifferently shrugs*
Zack: Hey, come on, I can life more than a single pound. *folds his arms* I’m not a weakling ya know!
Physician: *pushes the door open as she looks over at Seres* Ah, there you are. This way please. *motions out the door, wanting her to follow* It won’t take very long. After this, if you are cleared, you will be shown to your room. Then you will join the others in their program first thing tomorrow morning.
Sephiroth: *grunts* *”I got experimented on, yes. But that is not a standard physical checkup. It is nowhere near the same as that.”*
General Seph: *slowly nods his head, then tries to access the information stored in Sephiroth’s implants*
Seres: Heh, sure you can, Zack. In your head. *snorts at him then haughtily walks out of the room. For now, she manages to keep her cool and not show that she is bothered by the thought of being looked over by a doctor. This is partially due to Sephiroth’s words and partially because she wants to show up Zack.* ~I still don’t ever want to go through the things that you’ve told me about, Father. They sounded less than pleasant.~
Noemi: *cocks her eyebrow as she watches the scene in front of her, but remains aloof for the most part. She is here to support General Sephiroth and not nto enact orders of her own, so she remains silent* ~Tell me if you find anything interesting, General.~
Sephiroth: *narrows his eyes at Noemi and General Seph, then tries to block out the ‘invader’ in his mind* Don’t even bother. *sets up some defensive security walls that Centra had implemented into his implants* *”Relax, Seres. I don’t think they are going to do the same things that the ShinRa scientists did to me.
Physician: *unlocks the door to the exam room and motions for Seres to walk inside. She steps inside herself and turns on the light* Just hop up onto the table. This doesn’t take very long.
Noemi: Hmm.. *does a quick scan of Sephiroth herself then smirks, though the expression is muted* ~Those are the same security perameters that our Centra uses, General. You can easily break into them. I know you’ve learned how to break into Centra’s security in the past. I think you should just to give this upstart a lesson.~
Seres: *deeply sighs then moves to sit down on the table. She focuses on the wall, so she doesn’t have to pay much attention to what is happening. In addiotion, she tries to move her mind away from the events that are occurring in the physical, just wanting it to be over and done with.*
Physician: *gently takes Seres’ arm and wraps a blood pressure device around it, then inflates it. She reads the measurements on the device, seeming satisfied* Your blood pressure is fine. *takes a thermometer out of the drawer nearby and tries to hand it to Seres* Just place this under your tongue for a few minutes, alright?
General Seph: *nods his head and smirks. Then he attempts to invade Sephiroth’s implants once again, breaking down the security walls in place*
Sephiroth: *Snarls in anger and glares at him* Are you just doing that to piss me off? What’s the point? *snorts* Keep doing it and I’ll punch you in the face.
Seres: *frowns at the feeling of the blood pressure device, but doesn’t say anything yet. Once it is taken off though, she reaches up to rub her arm. Then, she frowns at the thermometer but opens her mouth and cooperates, just wanting to have this done and over with. As she waits for the woman to take the device out of her mouth, she crosses her arms and begins to tap her fingers against her skin in annoyance.*
Noemi: *smirks a bit at Sephiroth’s reaction, but doesn’t bother to respond to his threats* ~Good job, General. I see that you haven’t lost your edge. Are you finding anything of interest or use in there?~
Physician: *ticks off a couple of boxes on her clipboard, then glances back up at Seres* Are you up to date with your vaccinations, dear? If not, or you don’t know, it won’t hurt to get a few done now. *takes the thermometer out of her mouth and reads it for a moment, writing a few more notes down*
General Seph: *smirks* *”Not really. It’s virtually blank to tell you the truth.”* *chuckles* *”But his mind is skewed, he honestly does think that his bed-mate is a god.”*
Seres: Vaccinations…? *blankly stares at the woman for a few moments then slowly shakes her head* Umm… I don’t think I’ve ever had one of those, miss. My father has never mentioned making me have anything call a vaccination. What is it? *Deeply frowns, mildly afraid of the answer that she is about to receive*
Noemi: ~And what of the data stored in his implants? The memories and records there would be untainted by his bias and be able to give you a more realistic view of what his mate is like.~ *Frowns at Sephiroth, but remains silent*
Physician: *seems rather confused with Seres’s answer* Heavens dear, you’ve never been vaccinated against anything? Not once? That’s not very good for you at all. *walks across the room to take a plastic needle and syringe from the supplies boxes* Basically, it’s a way of assisting the immune system against fighting disease. I inject you with a serum containing a modified virus, and then your body will kill it and build up antibodies against it in future. *preps the syringe, pulling a single dose of vaccine out of the drawer* This will vaccinate you against several deadly viruses. Roll up your left sleeve please.
General Seph: *”I’m reading similar things in the implants… but the information on that woman has to be biased, right?”*
Sephiroth: *forcefully shoves General Sephy from his mind* I told you to stop doing that!
Seres: *her eyes widen as she sees the needle. She stares at it for a few seconds before jerking up to her feet and moving toward the door* What are you doing? I don’t need any of those. Stay away from me. ~Father, you told me that they wouldn’t do things like they did to you here! She has a needle! I want out of here.~
Noemi: ~No, if the information is taken directly from the implants, there is no way that his biases can be implemented. They only record what he sees and experiences. They will document some of his thoughts as well, but his memories will be pristine without biase or distortion. That is why several people couldn’t handle the implants. They couldn’t stand remembering things exactly how they happened.~ *narrows her eyes at Sephiroth*
Physician: *blinks* Oh, calm down there, it’s nothing to worry about. It doesn’t hurt that much. It’s just like a little pinprick, and you might get a mild low-grade fever later in the day. *slowly moves towards her*
Sephiroth: *”What kind of needle is it?”* *scowls at Noemi and Sephy* What the hell are you organizing for my daughter?
General Seph: *frowns and leans back in his chair* *”Ah yes… so what is going to happen about the information, then…? We can’t allow something like that to roam this planet if it is indeed dangerous.”*
Seres: ~I don’t know! She was talking about vaccinations.. I told her that I didn’t ever have a vaccination, then she took out the needle. I want out of here. I don’t need that thing. Please, tell them to send her away..~
Noemi: *deeply frowns at General Sephiroth’s words* ~I don’t know. She has been around here for longer than we have and has not done anything with this power.. How bad was it?~ *snorts at Sephiroth’s words* She is receiving a simple physical. That is all. It is only required by law for her to join the military. You of all people should know that, Sephiroth.
Sephiroth: *”Oh a vaccination? That’s what it is, an injection to boost your immune system. Take it, it’s harmless. You will feel a mild pin prick as it is placed in your arm, and that will be it. It is nothing to fret over. It’s required by the army that you are vaccinated against diseases – otherwise you may help spread them.”* *growls at Noemi* Yes, I know, thank you for reminding me.
Zack: *sighs and gets to his feet* Have you guys got a soda machine nearby? I’m only the pilot here and I’m in need of refreshment.
Seres: *loudly whimpers but lowers her head* Fine… do the stupid needle thing.. But if I see you abuse this, I’m going to slam that needle into your neck. *turns her head away so she doesn’t have to look and just stands there* ~I really hate this, father. I just want to go to the opening ceremonies or whatever already.~
Noemi: *cocks her eyebrow* Soda machine? *shrugs, indifferent* I never pay attention to those things. I know for certain that there’s not any near the General’s office. Best of luck finding one.
General Seph: *mumbles to himself* I’ve never used the implant indexing for anything so mundane… *rests his head on his hand, and looks up for a moment, then grunts at Zack* Turn left as you leave this room. Walk eight feet and turn right. There is a soda machine at the end of that corridor. You will need 50 gil for it.
Zack: *fumbles through his pockets, looking sheepish* Do you have a hundred Gil coin I could use?
Physician: *swabs down the skin on Seres’s arm then gently inserts the syringe, depressing the liquid into her bloodstream, then removes the needle* All done. *places the cap bakc on the syringe, then throws it into a nearby trash can* We’ll move onto the next thing now. Sit back on the table and take off your shirt.
Sephiroth: *”I know that, but you can’t until they are satisfied with your level of health. It is a minor annoyance to bear.”*
Noemi: *rolls her eyes at Zack then reaches into her pocket and throws a few coins onto the floor in Zack’s direction, not caring about the small meager amounts* ~That must have hurt to do, General. I would have just let him wander hopelessly, it may have been entertaining~
Seres: What? *scowls but moves onto the table anyway. She then quickly takes off her shirt and sets it down next to her* ~Now they’re having me strip, Father. This is getting worse and worse as time goes by… I hate this.~
Zack: Cool, thanks! *picks up the coins and walks out of the room to locate the said soda machine*
Sephiroth: *watches Zack leave the room and shakes his head, moving off the wall so he can sit down* I do not know that one at all. *snorts* *”It will be over soon enough. After it is done, we will part company and then you will begin your training. Unless you wish to accompany me downstairs where I have been invited to give a media report.”*
Seres: *incoherently grumbles under her breath as the physical continues on* ~What sort of public statement, Father? If you would like me by your side to make it easier, I’ll come. It may be somewhat entertaining. If not, I’ll check out the facility and my new room.~
Noemi: ~So, General, what do you think should be done about this other version of me? Should we take action against her, or just sit back and see what develops?~ *narrows her eyes at Sephiroth* Is that one not the cloned version of you that you mentioned in your journals who is named “Zack”? I heard your daughter call him that. So, you must be lying on that matter.
Sephiroth: *”The media want to know why I am allowing my own daughter to join the army. I have agreed to answer some of their stupid questions. I’ve a feeling they also want to see my emotions on the subject of leaving you here, and want to see whether or not I will start crying because ‘my little baby girl is growing up’.”* *snorts* Unfortunately I am. You are correct – that one has been cloned from me. He is only like me in looks. His personality is almost completely opposite of mine.
Physician: *jots down some more information on her chart* Only two things left. I have to listen to your breathing now, and then we have to ensure that you are free of communicable parasites. *places her stethoscope on and begins listening to Seres’s lungs and heart* This sounds clear. You have a nice heart beat.
Seres: ~I think they’re going to be seriously disappointed if they want to see you cry, Father. I don’t think I’ve ever once seen you shed a tear. Still, if you’d like me there to support you while you confront those idiots, I’ll join you. It doesn’t matter much to me either way.~ *flinches slightly at the feel of the cold metal against her skin and scowls. Still, she tollerates it* Well, I could have told you that without all of this.
Noemi: Yes, I can see that. He seems to be a complete incompetent and idiot. He must not have properly developed his mental abilities in that tube.
Physician: You could tell me that, yes, but I need to confirm it for this report. *puts her stethoscope away and reaches into the drawer to pluck up a pair of surgical gloves and a hairnet* Now comes the unpleasant part. Please stand two feet away from the table and drop your pants. I am going to inspect you for lice.
Sephiroth: *grunts* I wouldn’t call him an idiot exactly… he has enough intelligence to be a competent medical doctor. But he is naive, clumsy, and aloof.
Seres: What?!! *her yell can be clearly heard from where Sephy is* No, no, no. *quickly grabs her shirt and flings it back on before trying to run out of the room* ~Father, now this perverted female wants me to strip completely for her. She says she wants to check for lice, whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean. I don’t like this at all!~
Noemi: Perhaps in his elder years he may settle down enough to be respected. *indifferently shrugs* It is not my duty to choose who becomes a medical officer and who doesn’t. I am supposed to be in charge of a ship and the microcosm there, not an entire civilization.
