Zack: *scowls* I didn’t mean to do that… *makes sure the door is shut properly, then moves across the bed to her* I just don’t know how to tell you this. If I outright explain it, you’re going to think I’ve gone mental. *frowns*
Aeris: *flops down on the grass, relaxing her belly scales on it. She grins slightly at how nice it feels and slowly rolls onto her side* *”Take your time.”* *fans out her wings to soak in the sun’s rays*
Seph: *blinks as the door is knocked on* *”What do you want?”*
Sephiroth: *pulls the bowl over for Cael to get at properly* There you are. I will return, as I am going to find your other siblings now.
Jenna: *chuckles at Zack’s statement* Oh, come one. It isn’t that bad to call Sephiroth your “dad”. He did have a bigger hand in raising you than I did. *frowns and shakes her head* Anyway, what is it that you wanted to say? You keep on going around the subject..
Xelong: *opens up the door then looks up at Seph* ~I’m sorry, but I’d like to ask a favor from you. You are a competent hunter and my commerade is having problems catching her own meal due to a recent injury. I’d appreciate it if you can get her something nice to eat for today.~ *politely bows to Seph*
Cael: *grabs a nice fat plum and begins to chew on it. She is less than concerned that the fruit’s juices are getting all over her face and hands* Twank uuwl.
Seph: *smirks in amusement* That angry little female dragon can’t even catch a meal for herself now? *snickers and gets to his feet, picking up the short katana that Jennah had made up for him* Let’s see her then.
Sephiroth: *chuckles slightly at Cael and nods* You are welcome. *heads into the living room in search of Cael’s brothers*
Zack: Ah, yeah, about that… um. When I went to the past, I ended up somewhere really unusual. I’m not going to beat around the subject – the person I met was your mother. Your birth mother. I took care of her after she was attacked and raped by ah.. well… *thrusts his hands into his pockets* I got stuck there for a really long time. And I watched your mother die. *reaches up, teleporting the small box of valuables from his subspace pocket to hand to her* These belonged to her mother, and then to her. I guess they’re yours now.
Cael: *continues to munch on the plum, not even noticing that Seph had left the room. She soon finishes off the first fruit then reaches up to grab an apple. She wastes no time in biting into the red fruit*
Xelong: *slowly nods at Seph’s statement* ~Yes, she’s having problems because someone poked out her eye. So, she’s now partially blind. She’s also healing up from several wounds.~ *pauses for a brief moment* ~How exactly did you know that I was talking about Aeris? I never said that my friend was a dragon..~
Jenna: *blinks and stares at Zack fora few moments. Eventually, her eyes drift down to the box, but they don’t linger there long. For, she quickly returns her attention back to Zack’s eyes* How exactly do you know it was my mother? She got rid of me while I was still an infant? *frowns and shakes her head* That infant you saw could have been anyone.
Seph: *smirks* Oh, I made a wild guess. Plus I sensed you out when you came in, you’re that red male dragon child. If you have a comrade who’s having trouble hunting, it could only be that sapphire blue dragon female. Your other siblings don’t hunt. *speaks back to Jennah in her own native tongue* “I’m going to go outside now, mother… stay here and enjoy yourself, you deserve it.”* *grins and heads out of the room, patting his katana*
Sephiroth: *plucks up Orion and Leo, whom were busy trying to shove each other on the floor of the living room. He picks them up, one in each arm, seperating them as he carries them into the kitchen* Behave yourselves, boys.
Orion: *growls and flails his arms out at Leo, trying to whack him in the face*
Zack: The story fit, mom… Maria got raped by a really powerful dragon in the guise of a human male. After I got her away to safety, he went and burned down her mother’s house and killed all her family. Then the sister had me feed something to Maria so her pregnancy wouldn’t kill her… and then I spent the next few years caring for her. *shrugs* When her daughter was born, I had her cared for too… until Maria put her in a basket and shoved her off down a river. *sighs* The story fits. Don’t believe it if you don’t want to.
Xelong: ~Oh… I guess I’m not hiding as well as I hoped that I could.. I’ll have to work on disguising myself in all ways in the future. Thank you for informing me of the whole in my technique… Of course, I’m surprised this worked as well as it did. This is my first time at attempting to change my shape.~ *begins leading Seph out to where Aeris is*
Jennah: *cracks open her eye and lazily waves goodbye to Seph* Alright, take care of yourself.. *yawns and curls up on the bed, intending to fall back to sleep*
Cael: *is already half-way through the apple when Seph returns to the room. She grins at Leo. Then, the girl speaks with her mouth full, spraying bits of fruit onto the table* Hewlo, Bos-a.. Ewat. It goohd.
Jenna: *deeply frowns at Zack’s story then shakes her head* What makes you thing that fits? How does it fit anything? I still don’t see what proof you have. *deeply frowns at Zack. Her eyes fall back onto the jewlewry box* ~Seph, please come up here. Zack is claiming that he went back in time and met my mother..~
Seph: You look kinda convincing to me. But yes, try harder next time. *smirks* It’s glaringly obvious who you are right now. *follows Xelong outside, snickering loudly as he sees Aeris lying on the ground* Aww, what’s wrong, dragon? Not so high and mighty now, are you?
Aeris: *turns her head on one side, her solitary eye focussing on Seph. She makes a loud snort and pins her ears back, baring her teeth* *”Oh, go away…”*
Leo: *has already eaten, so is not interested. As soon as he is set down, he slips under the table to play*
Orion: *growls at Leo, then also slides under the table, desiring to shove him over and assert his dominance over him*
Zack: Fine, if you don’t believe me, I’ll take that back and just hold onto it myself. *frowns*
Sephiroth: *growls and snatches up Orion again, snarling at him* Stay put and behave yourself!! *snarls* *”I am a little tied up at this current point in time, Jen. I will be up there as soon as I have finished sorting out these boys. They seem intent on fighting.”*
Xelong: *frowns* ~Well, I guess you’re right there. I did admit who I am.. Do you have any suggestions on how I should try harder?~ *tilts his head as he notices the way that Seph is teasing Aeris then bares his teeth* ~Hey, don’ot do that! She is barely the most high and mighty dragon in these parts.~ *snorts* ~She doesn’t deserve such a title.~
Cael: *stops eating as she hears the boys fight then looks under the table* Stop it! Me eating. You fight elsewhere! *throws her mostly eaten apple at Orion*
Jenna: ~I’d prefer if you come here sooner than later, Seph…~ *frowns at Zack and shakes her head* I”d just would rather you give me some decent proof that this belongs to my family. *shakes her head* So far, it just sounds like coincidence.. *scowls* Not that I am the product of a woman who was raped by a dragon.
Orion: *growls as the apple core bounces off his shoulder. He growls and kicks at Sephiroth, wanting to be let go so he can charge at Cael, not wanting to let her get away with what she’s just done.
Sephiroth: *growls and holds onto him firmly* Stop that right now, or I will dump you in one of the spare rooms to cool off for a while. *”I’m trying to deal with a fight; I will be up there very soon.”*
Zack: I haven’t got any way to prove it. Even if you pry through my memories, you wouldn’t take that as proof.
Seph: *Snickers* You’re right, she certainly isn’t high and mighty. Poor dragon can’t even catch her food. *smirks and walks off into the bushes to look for something to kill* *”Mother showed me once how to conceal your life energy. But I don’t know how to disguise it as somebody else’s.”*
Seres: *Walks into the kitchen, finally ready for the day and loudly sighs at the sight of the fight under the table. So, she kneels down and firmly grabls onto the nearest boy that she can find, which would be Leo* Do you need help in here, Father?
Cael: Yea, stop! *sticks her tongue out at Orion* Ruin fun.
Jenna: *deeply frowns* I try not to take things at face value, Zack. *Shakes her head, as if repeating the action would make Zack’s claims go away, and looks down at the box once more* What was the woman who you were with like… *her voice is a soft whisper and barely audible*
Xelong: ~Ah, I see… Well, if your mother knows how to do something like that, I am certain that Jenna and Sephiroth can teach me likewise… Why do you call your Jenna your mother anyway? She doesn’t look like she gave birth to you.~ *sits down next to Aeris and leans against her side*
Leo: *makes an upset noise as he’s picked up and looks up at Seres, giving her a pleading look. He points down to the floor and wiggles, whimpering loudly after a few moments* Dow’n… *sways his legs* Down!
Orion: *glares at Cael and screams at her, swinging out his fists, ending up hitting Sephy in the process*
Sephiroth: *growls at him* Fine, you want to be like that? *snorts and carries him out of the room, walking across to one of the spare unused bedrooms on the lower floor. He sets Orion down on the floor in there and walks out, shutting the door so he can’t leave. Then he moves away, heading up the stairs for his bedroom*
Zack: What was she like? She was really timid, scared. You could very easily tread on her and she’d take it gracefully. She had no backbone, no strong will to do anything. If you told her to do something, she’d do it. She was a poor soul who honestly needed strong protection. She may never have received her soul mate in life, but I am glad to say I looked after her and cared for her until she died… *lowers his head, looking paticularly sad, the memory of her death still fresh in his mind*
Seph: *”Why? Because she took me in, she took care of me and does so even now, and she kept me fed and healthy when I was a kid. If that isn’t the function of a mother, then what is?”* *slinks forward with all the stealth of a predator, inching towards a paticularly fat wild pig-like creature*
Aeris: *rests her head on her paw and beats the end of her tail against the dirt, still quite aggitated and soured by what Seph said to her*
Seres: *Grunts at Leo and gently sets him down in one of the chairs* Alright, but you’d better behave yourself. Fighting all the time won’t get you anything but bruises. *pats the top of his head then sits down next to him* Hm, fruits.. Well, it’s good enough. *Shrugs and takes one of the left over peaches*
Jenna: *scowls at Zack’s description then loudly snorts* So, now you are saying that I came from a spineless wimp? *shakes her head* That is hardly the type of history that I would want. *looks up into Seph’s eyes* And why did this woman get rid of her child? How was the child sent away? Did it have a chance of survival?
Xelong: ~I see.. I think I understand now. That is like Zack. He cares for me, and I respect him. Still, he’s not my biological father.~ *watches Aeris sulk for a bit. Finally, he decides that he’s tired of her current disposition, so he leans in toward her snout then lightly slicks it, as is customary for dragons to show their affection*
Zack: I tried to retrieve the child from the river, but I was too late… too many crocodiles and stuff in the water. The dragon’s sister said she was safe thoguh, and she got her somewhere safe. *shrugs* She got rid of her because she declared her to be a spawn of the devil or something…
Sephiroth: *just opens the door and moves to stand inside the doorway. He doesn’t say anything for the time being and slightly raises his eyebrows in a curious manner*
Leo: *seems content now that there’s no competition from Orion and plucks up an apple to bite into* Mmmmrnnrmm…. *glances up at Seres* *”If I win, it good. Brother stop then.”*
Seph: *”Jennah is not my biological mother, but she has taken it upon herself to take on that role. Which makes her very special. A biological mother raises a child out of obligation, but an adoptive mother does it because they want to.”* *there is a high pitched squealing noise as Seph slays the pig in the bushes* *”Who is this kill for? I want to eat the liver if it’s for that dragon. I’ll take it as payment for doing her hunting.”*
Aeris: *opens her eye to look forwards at him* *”Humans don’t do that, silly.”*
Jenna: *deeply frowns at Zack’s words, not wanting to believe a word of it. Once Seph walks into the room t hough, her frown disappears and is replaced by relief. Desiring comfort, Jenna stands up and walks over to Seph’s side then leans up against him* Did you see anything that’d indicate that Zack would have been around a woman that could have possibly been my family?
Seres: *chuckles at Leo and then pats the top of his head* And how often do you beat him? It doesn’t do good to fight with him in the purpose of stopping him if you can’t beat him. *bites into her peach and begins to happily chew through it* Are you two going to miss me after I leave today?
Cael: *doesn’t even pay attention to Sere’s proclimation of leaving and reaches over to take some grapes so that she can pop them into her mouth*
Xelong: ~Yes, this food is for Aeris, sir. She’s recovering from being severely beaten up, can you please keep the liver in place… She could use the nutrients.~ *sits upright and tilts his head* ~Why is it wrong to do that as a human? I see no difference between now and any other time I do it as a dragon… I don’t understand.~
Sephiroth: *shakes his head slowly, blinking slightly at Jenna’s sudden desire for affection. He puts his arms around her and pats her back* Not at all… When I discovered him, he was in a field near the edge of a copse and hidden in amongst some overgrown plants, most of which were ordinary common bracken ferns. Nothing indicated he was nearby any civilisation at all, though he did look quite out of it when I discovered him.
Leo: *looks up at her* You leave? Why? When come back?
Aeris: *”It’s just that poeple don’t lick each other. They kiss, or hug. Dragons don’t kiss, because we don’t really have lips… it is a bit confusing, isn’t it.”*
Seph: *grumbles for a moment* *”Fine. But I’m not eating the leftover scraps.”*
Jenna: *Simply leans against Seph’s side, showing no other signs of needing comfort from the news that she was just told. As she listens to Seph speak, she frowns and glances over at Zack then back to Seph. Before commenting, she decides to send Seph a detailed psychic transmission that contains all that Zack had told her* So, Zack, can you provide any proof aside from that burnt box?
Seres: Well, I want to move on with my life and start being self-sufficent. To do that, I need to move out and learn how to do things other than watch my brothers and sisters grow up. So, I’m joining the military. I can’t say when I’ll be back… *shakes her head*
Xelong: ~Kissing?~ *frowns in thought then sends Aeris an image of what Holly and Zack do before getting ready to go into bed* ~You mean that? Is that really the type of thing for… commerades to do?~ *glances back in the direction where Seph is* ~We’ll get you a nice and large meal later on. Is that a sufficent trade?~
Sephiroth: *frowns in thought for a moment, then slowly shakes his head* *”When I first arrived in the exact place where the portal opened, I entered into a corn field. There was a burned and charred pile of mess at one end of the field. I did not pay it any mind and flew off to find Zack. I wouldn’t be able to confirm or deny what he’s saying.”*
Leo: Not come back…? *whimpers a bit*
Aeris: *”Er, not that kind of kissing. Something like it, but friendly kissing. Like, a peck on the cheek or something. That’s socially acceptable to do to a friend.”*
Seph: *”That does sound like a fair trade. I will agree to that.”* *finally drags the dead pig carcass out of the bushes and across to Aeris, dumping it down in front of her* Enjoy, dragon. Get your strength back so I can hassle you again.
Jenna: *frowns at Seph* ~You’re not telling me that you believe that story, are you? How could he had possibly known that the girl he saw being born is me..?~ *her frown deepens and she turns her head to look at the floor. It would become clear that Jenna is sulking in a manner, just not trying to make it very visible*
Seres: Well, I might not come back to live here, no. I’ll still be around and will visit from time to time. Don’t worry. *moves up behind Leo and gives him a hug* I won’t desert my family like Desiree and Cancer did.
Xelong: ~A kiss on the cheek? I don’t understand? Why would you do something like that on the cheek.. Is there something I’m missing concerning this topic?~ *Shakes his head then glances up at Seph and grins* ~Thank you for assisting her.~ *nudges Aeris, trying to get her to move to the food*
Sephiroth: No. I told you, I neither confirm nor deny it. I don’t know the situation, I wasn’t there, I did not see any evidence to make me think either way, thus, I can’t really make a judgement either way.
Leo: *is too young to understand, but hugs her anyway*
Aeris: *flicks out her tongue* *”It’s an intimate sign of affection. You do it to somebody you love. A quick peck on the cheek is a friendly gesture.”* *jerks her head up and chomps into the kill the moment it’s placed in front of her*
Jenna: *lowers her head and walks back over to the bed. She then grabs the box, being none too gentle with the movement, before carrying it back over to Seph* Here then, tell me wheter I should accept this or let Zack keep it. *scowls as she shoves the box into Seph’s chest. She is the least bit concerned that she’s been ignoring Zack all this time*
Seres: *smiles at the boy’s affection* It is simply amazing that our family has so many affectionate youth considering our parents.. *softly chuckles* Don’t you ever become as hardened as our Father and Mother, you here me?
Xelong: *quickly stands upright so that he’s not restrining Aeris with his weight and shakes his head* ~I still don’t understand. If it’s not like what I showed you, then what is it like? I thought that the open mouth thing with the pressing together of tongues was a kiss..~
Sephiroth: *Scowls slightly as he takes the box from her* *”What the hell is your problem? Don’t take it out on me. If you don’t want to believe it, that’s up to you. I’m still telling you exactly what I saw and my opinion. I do not know why being neutral to the situation bothers you so.”*
Leo: *slowly nods his head* No Sere….
Aeris: *begins telepathically showing him images of people kissing in friendly social situations, and then kisses that lovers give to each other and share in* *”Well the tongues thing is a kiss too, but it’s for lovers when they’re being really intimate. Where did you see people kissing like that?”*
Jenna: *frowns at Sephiroth’s comments and crosses her arms* ~What are you talking about? I’m not taking anything out on you. I was asking whether or not I should keep that stupid box or not.~ *turns her attention to Zack, scowling as she considers what he told her yet agin*
Seres: *broadly grins* That’s a good boy. *messes up his hair in a playful manner*
Xelong: ~I just showed you. Zack and Holly kiss a lot before they get ready for having intercourse. I’ve seen it several times and it becomes a good indicator on whether or not to leave the room.~
Sephiroth: *”You were also trying to ram the box at me in an agressive manner, as if to say that you do not want it, and I should take it.”* *teleports the box to his subspace pocket, figuring it’s safer there for now*
Zack: We’re not getting anywhere here. *lowers his head and mumbles* I shouldn’t have said anything…
Aeris: *”And you still don’t figure that kind of kissing is for lovers only?”* *shakes her head and snickers, razing her teeth through the ribcage of the kill* *”How could you not understand after that?”*
Jenna: *Frowns at Zack* I’d be more prompted to believe you if there was some form of proof aside from the box you presented. *snorts then glances up at Seph* I suppose I could let him scour your mind and see if he can come up with any proof if it matters that much to you. *walks back over to the bed so that she can sit down*
Xelong: ~You asked where I saw that type of kissing, I explained. And it is not my fault that humans use the same things for various purposes with only small changes in the behavior. It’s all very confusing.~
Zack: You know what? Forget it. You don’t want to believe it, or pry through my memories to have a look? Then you can just go on believing whatever the heck you want. *grumbles* I’m outta here. *gets to his feet and heads for the door, both offended, and annoyed*
Sephiroth: *raises an eyebrow at him*
Aeris: *”You’ll get used to it all and work it out. Humans are weird sometimes with their subtle differences…”*
