Aeris: *”Pancakes?”* *shakes her head, finally slowly pushing herself to her feet. She stretches her back limbs, then yawns momentarily* *”I probably shouldn’t. I can barely stomach some things as is, I need to keep eating meat if I want to stay healthy. I doubt pancakes would be any good for me at all.”*
Sephiroth: No, I can’t prove that to you. But Centra could, especially if she had filmed the incident.
Iris: I don’t know how he could be any more mean sometimes, sister… *continues to stand in the doorway* He gets really scary when he’s mad…
Xelong: ~Hm, that is strange. My stomach when I was a dragon could stomach nearly anything. I may not have received much nutrition or liked the taste, but I wouldn’t throw up.~ *shakes his head* ~I wonder why yours is so picky.~ *leans in to look at her poked out eye* ~Will this heal back completely?~
Jenna: *deeply sighs at Seph’s statements and shakes her head* It is not worth investigating, Seph. What is done is in the past. It won’t happen again, but I still don’t want you to condemn yourself for the actions of another.
Seres: Trust me, you guys have seen nothing. He really used to blow his lid when I was litte.. And Zack has story of his temper as well. *grabs some mouthwash so that she can rinse her mouth out*
Aeris: *”I don’t know if it will heal up or not. I want it to, I miss being able to see properly.”* *she lowers her head, then stretches out her wings and back legs further, scrunching up and extending the toes a few times to shake out the stiffness* *”I tried eating vegetable matter when I tried to avoid eating meat. I ate fruits, nuts, mushrooms, even dirt. I vomitted it back up on several occaisons. I don’t know why my tummy is so picky.”* *slowly wanders towards the door*
Sephiroth: *mumbles* I’ll try not to, but it will not be very easy at all.
Iris: I’ll have to take your word for it… he gets pretty angry now anyway. I’d hate to see what he was like if he were madder…
Xelong: *gets to his own feet and follows Aeris. He is a bit concerned that she may topple over if not watched* ~Maybe it was because you were eating too much of that sort of stuff. I can eat small amounts of things other than meat without any problem.~ *Shrugs* ~But making a diet of only non-meat products probably would make me rather sick.~
Jenna: *lifts her hand and wraps it around Sephiroth’s back before setting her hand on his right shoulder. She gently pats the back of his shoulder and shakes her head* Do you blame yourself for what Jenova made you do? You deserve to blame yourself more for that than you do for what happened to Kether.
Seres: *Swishes the mouthwash around in her mouth then leans over to spit* I heard that he was once much, much worse. *grabs a towel to dry her face off with* You have heard the stories of what he did during the Jenova wars, right? How he destroyed Nibelhiem in one night all on his own and things like that…
Sephiroth: *lowers his head and rests his face in his hands* *”I suppose I do, though I do not really think about that much. Yes, it was my fault that I allowed her to manipulate me. But I never really knew the people I murdered, so it doesn’t really seem that personal.”*
Aeris: *”Yes, it does… not very good at all.”* *wanders outside, then fans out her wings to catch the rays from the sun. She wanders further away from the house, heading for the nearby sparse foresty area, wanting to eat*
Iris: *shivers* I didn’t want to believe stories like that were true, but they’re written firmly into the pages our recent history and current affairs books. I just… don’t want to believe my father is like that. Something must have been really wrong, he was sick. He sure as heck isn’t like that now. I hope none of us get like that if we get sick…
Xelong: *follows Aeris out until she starts leaving the grounds of the front yard. He pauses and shakes his head* ~Are you certain that you should go hunting while you’re still healing up, Squeak? I can get Zack to bring out some fresh meat from the pantry. Or, I can go and hunt for you…~
Jenna: *stares at Sephiroth as she notices his expresion and shakes her head* Hey, are you alright? I’ve never once seen you like this. *reaches over with her right hand and attempts to pull his hand away from his face. In order to accomplish this, she firmly grips onto his wrist before gently pulling on his hand with a downward motion*
Seres: *frowns at Iris* Yes, Father did really do all the things that those text books say he did. *kneels down infront of Iris and rubs the top of her head* Don’t worry though. We’re not likely to go insane like he did. We have not been treated like lab rats or anything else. Anyway, the sickness wasn’t just like a cold.. It was something in his head that went wrong. I’ll explain more later, when you’re older.
Aeris: *”You shouldn’t hunt while you’re a young human, Xelong. All kinds of dangerous things can happen. You might be able to stand your ground easily against a lizard, or perhaps some kind of wild mammal. But as a young boy, you’ve no armour, no defense against them. You wouldn’t enjoy it at all. Go back to the house, okay?”*
Sephiroth: *”I’m just fine.”* *frowns, but lets her pull his hand away* I just wish it wouldn’t keep coming up. You know how I feel about the subject, nothing is going to change there for a long time.
Iris: But I am older, Seres. *frowns at her* I’m smarter than people take credit for you know.
Xelong: *a small frown forms on his lips* ~I’m not stuck in this form, Squeak. I can return to being my normal dragon self and get you food that way. You really should stay around and just have Zack get you a freshly killed pig or something like that. It’ll taste just as good and won’t risk you getting your injuries disturbed.~
Jenna: *deeply sighs at Sephiroth’s words* I did not mean that, Seph. I meant that you have larger things that you’ve done wrong then give the feline an answer that would not have helped her at all. That is all. *lets go of his hand and reaches up to pat the side of his face*
Seres: *shakes her head at Iris* You still have a lot of maturing left to go, sister. Anyway, I don’t have time to explain it all to you today. If you want a full explanation, ask Mother or Father. *begins to strip down* Now, I’m going to take a shower.
Aeris: *”I won’t necessarily hunt, I’d like to go wandering anyway. My limbs are stiff and I generally want to move them. And um, I kinda want to be alone for a bit anyway. I really appreciate your concern though, thank you.”*
Sephiroth: Hmph… it’s still a direct result of something I did that one of our offspring is permanently brain damaged. That is not something to just shrug off.
Iris: *pulls her head out of the room and closes the door* Alright. I’ll go busy myself elsewhere. *walks off down the stairs to check up on Cael, Leo and Orion*
Xelong: *slowly nods. He doesn’t like what Aeris has told him, but he chooses not to fight against her. So, he walks back over to the front porch before sitting down on it. He is willing to remain there until Aeris gets back* ~Zack, I’m outside if you wander where I am later.~
Jenna: *groans* I’m never gong to succeed in convincing you. Am I, Sephiroth? *shakes her head* No matter how hard I tell you it wasn’t your fault or your actions, you won’t listen to me..
Seres: *takes her time in the shower, wanting to enjoy it before she’s forced to use communual showers. Eventually, after nearly half an hour has passed by, she steps out of the shower and wraps herself up in a towel. Then, she moves to her bed and begins to brush out her hair*
Cael: *is still sleeping in her bed*
Aeris: *wanders off into the forested area, soon dissapearing into the underbrush as she wanders off*
Zack: *”Ah, why are you outside, Xel? You got bored of being in here? You still have pancakes to eat if you’re still interested in them, you know. But that’s alright, I can finish them off for you, or Mei can. She loves eating sweet cakey things.”*
Sephiroth: Perhaps not. *reaches out to pat her shoulder* Don’t worry yourself over it. What’s done is done, I can’t change that. Not unless I go back to the past and change it, and even if I did, I would only create a skewing of events in time.
Iris: *wanders into the triplet’s bedroom, moving over to Cael. She lightly shakes her shoulder, then wanders over to shake Orion gently too, wanting them both to wake up* Wake up, brother and sister. Otherwise you’re going to sleep all day. Leo’s already awake and gone, you should wake up too.
Xelong: ~I’m outside because Aeris decided to come out and hunt… I want to remain nearby incase she gets herself in trouble. I don’t like the idea of her hunting so soon after loosing her eye. She wasn’t a good hunter to start with. If you want, you can come out here to the porch and we can continue eating your “pancakes”.~
Jenna: *frowns at Sephiroth* You should take your own advice, Seph. It is you who worries yourself over the events, not I. *sighs* I want you to let things be and stop feeling sorry, that’s all.
Cael: *loudly growns and flings her hands out at Iris* Noooo… Wan more sleep. *tries to burry herself under her sheets*
Iris: *moves over to the blinds to let sunlight into the room* You can’t stay in bed. So come on, get up okay? *glances over at Orion* You too.
Orion: *makes a loud noise of protest, then begins to scream, angry and cranky with being woken up*
Sephiroth: I did until it was brought up again. *frowns* I’ll be fine.
Zack: *”You want to eat em outside, huh? I thought you’d finished with the ones you had.”* *carries his plate outside, then sets himself down on the step behind Xelong* Aeris must be feeling better if she was good enough to walk away and hunt. *offers Xelong’s plate to him again, then the fork he was using before*
Cael: *continues to hide under her sheets, protecting herself from the sunlight* No. Moh-or sleep! No wanna wake. *shuffles about a bit, clearly curling up into a tight ball*
Jenna: *scowls* Well, bringing it up shouldn’t do anything to you either, Seph. *snorts then crosses her arms* You’re just being damn stubborn about this.
Xelong: *happily takes the plate then rubs up his side agianst Zack, though the motion would be a bit strange since Xel can’t move all that much while seated* ~Thank you, Zack.~ *examines the fork then slowly picks it up. He then begins to munch on the pancake* ~I hope she’s feeling better. If she’s not, she shouldn’t be out there.~
Zack: I wouldn’t worry too much. If she’s sick, she wouldn’t be out there walking around. *chuckles at him* Xel, what are you doing, buddy? You’re going to lose your food on the steps if you do that.
Sephiroth: Theres no use gettign angry with me. I’m not going to change my mind about how I feel regarding that situation.
Iris: *ignores the yelling and protests, then tries to pull the sheets down* Stop doing this.. why do you have to be so bad? *sighs in exasperation and walks out of the room, leaving them be*
Xelong: *blinks and stares up at Zack* ~You don’t want me showing my affection toward you? Alright…~ *lowers his head and continues to slowly eat, not wanting to drop the fork* ~Aeris did say that she was feeling better, but I don’t know if I trust her assessment of herself..~
Jenna: I’m not angry, Seph. I’m frustrated. You are just being damn stubborn and not listening to me at all. *Scowls*
Cael: *whines as the covers are pulled off her* No wanna wake! *begins throwing a temper tantrum, her cries filling the house*
Iris: *storms out of the triplet’s bedroom, walking outside* I can’t handle them!!
Sephiroth: *sighs* I did listen to you. I heard your reasoning and logic. You don’t have to get frustrated with me because I don’t agree with you. I’m sure you blame yourself for things that I would say wasn’t your fault.
Zack: *reaches out to pat his head* No, you can do that. But humans tend to show affection towards one another by hugging. The rubbing is a dragon thing, especially when he’s marking his scent.
Jenna: Such as wha- *blinks as she hears Iris’s exclamation before cringing at the sound of Cael’s cries* Lovely… Which one do you want to handle, Seph? Iris or Cael? *reaches over to take Chimera from Seph’s lap*
Xelong: ~Hugging? You mean when you wrap your arms around another person? Why is rubbing insufficent for your species? I don’t understand why you’d want to wrap your arms around someone like that..~
Zack: Well, I guess humans rub up against each other. But that tends to be something more reserved for mated couples, and tends to be a pre-emptive for sex. Not always, but sometimes. But I won’t get into the details of that. *grins nervously*
Sephiroth: I’ll take the smaller one. She might be easier to calm down. *gets to his feet and heads for the triplet’s bedroom, grunting as he peers his head in the door* What are you so upset about, girl?
Iris: *moves around Zack and Xelong, headed for the trees beyond the house*
Xelong: ~Oh, I see… So, it’s inappropriate for one human to rub up against another because that indicates you want to have intercourse? I think I understand now.~ *looks out to the forest* ~Squeak, are you alright out there?~
Jenna: *slowly nods and sets Chimera down on the couch* Shh… just sleep little one. We will return for you shortly. *grins as Chimera simply yawns and curls up to sleep, then she moves after Iris. She quickly catches up to the girl and grabs her arm once she is half-way to the forest* Hey, what happened?
Cael: *loudly whines* No wanna wake! ‘Sis no let sleep moh!
Sephiroth: *grunts and crouches down nearby Cael’s bed, making it properly again* Well, come on, climb back in. *pats the bed area* If you want to sleep for the rest of the morning and all day, that’s your decision. Just be aware nobody else will stay awake with you at night.
Aeris: *”Yes, Xelong. I’ve not even been gone five minutes, you’re worried about me?”*
Zack: Well, kinda… not really. Hugging is just the more done thing over rubbing.
Iris: *sniffles, trying to pull her arm away a bit* I don’t want to talk about it…
Cael: *calms down after she notices that Sephiroth is telling her that she can sleep more. After a moment, she shuffles over to his side and hugs him* Tank you, ah-tha. *curls up against his side and yawns* Sis-er mean…
Xelong: *Scowls* ~Of course I’m not worried about you. Why would I be worried about an idiot like you.~ *There is the chance that Aeris can pick up on the fact that Xelong is indeed worried about her and lying at the moment out of pride. Then, he looks up at Zack* ~I’ll remember that, Zack. Can you help me learn how to pronounce your words?~
Jenna: *shakes her head at Iris and kneels down infront of her* Well, I’m not letting you run off until you tell me what’s wrong. *reaches over to gently wipe away some tears from Iris’s face* Now, come on, talk to me.
Sephiroth: She was trying to wake you up because it is nearing noon. If you want to sleep all day, that is your choice. Enjoy it while you can, because once you’re old enough, you’re going to have to attend classes.
Aeris: *amused* *”You are worried about me. Do not worry, I am foraging for food. It’s not that much harder to hunt while like this afterall.”*
Iris: *lowers her head, miserable. Then she moves to lean against Jenna, hugging her around the neck, beginning to cry more* *”They’re stupid… I was just trying to help and I got screamed at. Those kids don’t appreciate anything…”*
Cael: *continues to hug onto Seph’s side and grins up at him* Nee sleep. *grins and nods then points to her brother* He no wan wake ei-ta. *shakes her head* See.
Xelong: ~No, I am not concerned about you. What makes you think such a crazy thing like that? I am more than perfectly find to let you wander about out there and gets yourself hurt like the weak female that you are.~ *looks back up at Zack* ~So, can you teach me?~
Jenna: *blinks, a bit shocked by Iris’s sudden change in attitude. However, she quickly wraps her arms around the girl* You’re talking about the triplets? Do not worry yourself about their attitude, Iris. They’re young and in their “terrible twos” as the humans say. *pats the back of Iris’s head* They’ll be having temper tantrums for a bit over small things. Don’t work yourself up over them.
Sephiroth: Fine, sleep if you want. You don’t have to do anything today, but nobody is going to stay awake during the night because you can’t sleep. *pulls the cover over her again and gets to his feet, heading out of the room*
Zack: Teach you? Ah, sure. Where to begin… um. Start with your name I guess. *clears his throat* “Zz-el-ong”.
Iris: Why don’t you just make them stop then? They’re being jerks. They should be punished for being like that. I don’t know why they’re allowed to do it… I wasn’t.
