Sephiroth paced through his holding cell, aggitated, eager, and very bored. Less than an hour remained until his departure out of the lab area and to the training facility where he was to begin his new life as a soldier. He was already fully dressed in his uniform, a smart pressed steel grey solid cotton suit with solid cuffs and a stiff collar. Secretly he thought it looked nice on him, even if it was uncomfortable and itchy in parts. There was nothing he could do now except wait for them to come and get him.
He would regret leaving behind the young boy that had been placed in the cell with him, but there was nothing he could do about that. The boy was just one of many of his offspring and he had grown somewhat attached to the boy but he knew the child must be left behind. They were both consigned to their fates.
He was escorted out of the building by four hulky armoured guards, though whether it was for their safety or for his, he would never know. He was led into an awaiting heavily amoured car with no windows. The trip to the academy would be a long exhausting journey. It was a three hour drive alone to the interplanetary airport that would take them to Earth. Sephiroth kept his head down for most of the time during the car ride, catching snatches of sleep where he could. He entered the spaceship some time later with curiousity – he had never flown to another planet before. The flight to Earth was a long journey, but exciting nonetheless. Sephiroth was given a comfortable room to spend the night in by himself, and arrived on Earth over a day and a half later.
He was escorted straight from the arrival port to the giant army facilty. Again, it was something else that Sephiroth took immense interest, mostly due to the fact that it was all something that he had never seen before. He was in awe as he was led through various security levels and delivered to the waiting area where the other recruits were gathering, being signed in, and so on. He saw older soldiers of higher ranks wearing different uniforms, greeting younger siblings and greeting friends.
He thrust his hands into his pockets and leaned against one of the walls on the sidelines as his escorts signed him in and did his paperwork for him. He stared out the window, feeling a bit lost at that point. He found it unusual that the moon was already visible in the sky despite the fact it was not completely dark outside. He waited for his next instructions and wondered if Noemi would be meeting up with him soon. Or if she was even allowed to.
“This is boring…” He sighed. He glanced at some of the other recruits with only mild curiousity – wondering if they would come to befriend him or hate him.
Noemi: *has excelled in her past three years of classes, especially her aeronautics and space flight courses. As such, she has become one of the top ten scoring members of her senior class and a welcome sight for her teachers. If she were to be given an actual rank at the moment, she’d be a luetinant at the least.
For today, she arrived at the main hall to the academy early, wanting to get a head start on signing up for the classes she desires to conquer next. She has never given up on her aspirations to become a captain of one of the major battleships out there, and had every intention of taking whatever course would lead her in that direction.
As customary for senior femal members of the Naval section of the academy, Noemi was dressed in a dark blue, or navy, uniform with a straight non-pleated skirt that did not flare out. The skirt ended at about mid-thigh legnth. Unlike most other recruits, Noemi refused to wear high heals, so she had a low rise pair of navy blue female boots, not anywhere as strong as army boots would be, on her feet. As for the upper portion of her uniform, it started with a navy jacket over a light blue colared button-down shirt. The jacket had three large golden buttons that kept it closed. Then, ontop of her head was a customary navy hat which sat snuggly ontop of her short brown hair, which flared out from under the hat in a semi-stylish manner.
Noemi was nearly done signing up for her classes by the time that Sephiroth arrived, so she didn’t notice him right away. However, once she got up from the meeting with the last councilor who she needed to speak to for the day, she moved to the side and began to allow her eyes to scan over the crowd. It didn’t take her long to spot Sephiroth, for his long silver hair stood out amoungst the sea of other recruits. Not to mention, the boy’s height helped as well.
So, Noemi choose to surprise her old friend, who she had seen from time to time while she was in the school, though usually only when she was in heat. Moving stealthily amoungst the masses, Noemi circled behind the silver-haired cadet then quickly rushed in so that he’d have no time to catch on to the fact that he’s being stalked. Wrapping her arms around Sephy’s shoulders, she swiftly pulls him in close to her and whispers* You look good.
Sephiroth: *was busy reading through some information and fliers when Noemi hugged him from behind. In his surprise he yelped slightly, dropping the papers he was reading. He glanced back to Noemi, taking a moment to work out whom she was. Then very quickly, a grin spread across his face and he tried to turn around, facing her, wanting to return the hug* Hey there, Noemi! What are you doing here?
Noemi: *returns Sephiroth’s grin and loosens her grip in order to ease his attempts at turning around* Hi, Sephiroth. I was signing up for my classes, same as you. *wickedly smirks* Of course, what do you think you’re doing here? Do you really think that you are anywhere near good enough to join the marines. *softly chuckles* I bet you’ll flunk out in a weak. *pokes his ribs*
Sephiroth: *snorts loudly at her, but he is clearly quite amused* Feh, you’re wrong, missy. I’ll outrank you within the year. So keep your mouth shut or I’ll shut it for you. *wraps his arms around her and moves his head in to give her an aggressive kiss on the lips, not seeming to care that others are watching*
Noemi: Hrmph, they don’t give ranks out like that to first years. You’ll be lucky if you survive the hazing ceremonies from the upper-clas- *abruptly stops as Sephiroth kisses her and freezes for a brief moment. Though, this action is not because she doesn’t like the kiss; instead, Sephiroth had taken her off-guard and by surprise. However, Noemi rapidly recovers and tightens her grip on Sephy before returning the kiss* Mmmm…
*Several of the other recruits in the area stop and stare at the couple, utterly shocked by the open display of affection. Luckily, Noemi had gained a reputation amoungst her fellows for being well capable of dishing out punishment when distrubed, so the older students keep anyone from saying or doing anything to the reunited couple*
Sephiroth: *”I’m going to get a good rank, just you wait. I didn’t come this far to be kicked out and become a civilian on the sidelines of this entire war operation.”* *breaks off the kiss and glares at the other people watching*
Noemi: ~Alright, alright, so maybe you might have what it takes to survive your first year, maybe.~ *lazily grins at him, still a bit dazed from the kiss that she had just received. In fact, she is so taken by the kiss that she doesn’t pay attention to anyone nearby and begins to gently massage Sephy’s back* ~Have you signed up for your introductory classes yet?~
Sephiroth: Me? No. *points to the older guards he came over with* *”One of the scientists and the caretakers from my medical group has come over with me at Jansen’s request. They’re signing up my stuff for me so I don’t have to do anything. Can you escort me around later? I don’t know my way around.”* *grins at her*
Noemi: *softly speaks into Sephiroth’s ear* My, you’re lucky. I didn’t have guards sign me up for my classes on my first day. They made me go through the process all on my own. *indifferently shrugs* ~And of course I’ll give you a tour, Sephiroth. It would be my pleaure to spend the day and possibly even more to come with you and you alone.~ *smirks* ~Though you’ll make your classmates rather jealous. It’s not every day that a new cadet gets to hang out with an upperclassman.~
Sephiroth: *”You mean an upperclass woman.”* grins back at her* *”I don’t mind hanging out with you, but it might make me come off as being an elite around the other soldiers. I doubt I’m in any of your classes.”* *his grin fades*
Noemi: *softly chuckles and nods* ~Yes, I suppose the politically correct term is upperclass-woman; however, the word that everyone uses as a whole is upperclassman. And yes again, you are right, our classes will not overlap. You are a different department and a different age group than I am, Sephiroth. There is not a single possibility that we’ll be in the same class.~ *shakes her head* ~Anyway, if you have servants signing you up for classes, are you free to depart?~
Sephiroth: *glances at them* I don’t know, I should go ask. I wouldn’t want to say yes and walk off by myself, only to have them bring me back and yell at me in front of everybody here. *wanders away from Noemi to speak with one of his supervisors. He comes running back over after a moment, grinning* I’m allowed to walk around with you. But I have to be at my dorm in two hours.
Noemi: *nods at Sephiroth and decides to remain in place and watch the others in the room as she waits for him to return. Once Sephy gives her the news, she grins at him then nods* That’s great. I’m certain that it’ll be no problem for me to get you back here in two hours. I can’t even imagine anything that would hold me up that long.. *shrugs* So, where do you want to start? *begins walking out of the auditorium*
Sephiroth: I don’t know, what is there to show? *pauses* How about the dorm areas first? If I know where they are and where I’m going, It’d be easier to get back to them when the two hours is drawing to a close. *grins* I’m not tired though. I got plenty of sleep on the transport vehicle over to Earth. *glances around the area* So are there any of those claw-jawed aliens here too?
Noemi: Hmm… *thinks for a few moments* Ah, yes, I know where your dorms should be. *moves out of the auditorium and begins to lead Sephiroth to the various dorms* And no, Seph, you won’t see many Sangehlli at all. In the mass majority, they prefer to go to their own schools for learning how to fight. However, there are a few of their species that break away from tradition and enroll here. Mostly, you’ll see them during presentations or whatnot. *points to the first dorm building that she passes by* That is the Kennedy dorm building. It’s normally occupied by first year naval recruits. *continues pointing out various building and explaining their purpose to Sephers*
Sephiroth: *quickly follows alongside Noemi, paying close attention as she points it out to him* Ah so I’ll be staying here? Nice. *easily keeps up with Noemi’s pace and attentively looks at the things she’s pointing out. Though he already seems to know quite a bit even as she explains it thanks to the input that his neural implants are giving him. Still, he listens to what Noemi says anyway partly because he wanted her to explain it over the implants, and because he has generally missed the sound of her voice and is using the tour as an excuse to be with her*
Noemi: *Stops infront of a series of buildings a bit away from the main complex* This is where my appartment is located. Would you like to see it, Sephiroth? They’ve kept me away from having roommates since my Heat cycles have been considered dangerous to others. *Thinks for a moment* We could probably make arrangements for you to room in my appartment with me if you want. They’re pretty flexible about small things like that as long as both parties are in agreement.
Sephiroth: Ah, very nice. Are you sure they would place me in the same apartment area as you? I would like that above all things, but I don’t want the other new recruits to think I am an elitist or getting special treatment. *frowns* That would give them cause to hate me.
Noemi: I don’t think it’ll be that much of a problem. You know how they love it when the two of us screw and actually create children.. *deeply sighs at the thought* Do you want to go and ask right now? Or do you want to wait until your orientation is over with? Either way is fine with me.
Sephiroth: I’ll just wait until it’s over because I don’t want to go back now and ask. That’s just silly. *moves ahead of her, grinning* So are the showers communual or what? Do they give you your own weapon to take care of?
Noemi: The showers in the dorm buildings are communual based on floor, but there are different stalls so there’s a bit of privacy. As for on the field and in the gyms, those are fully communual. Meanwhile, my apartment has a private shower. So, it just matters on where you are. *shrugs* As for weapons, yes, you’ll get your own in time, but most that get one actually pay for them. For the most part, you’ll have access to firearms and weapons on the shooting range, and may receive a standard issue handgun, but the rest is up to your own pocket.
Sephiroth: *frowns, looking dissapointed* I have to buy my own weapon? I’ll never be able to afford one… I don’t have any money at all. *lowers his head* At least I get a gun though. Do you have one? *looks up at her* Do you have it with you right now?
Noemi: Yes, I have a standard issue pistol in my belongings, but I rarely carry it around with me, Sephiroth. *shakes her head* I don’t have any need for one on the whole. I am training to become a captain, and as such, my duty is commanding others and not necessarily fighting directly against others. *looks into her friend’s eyes* And you’ll be receiving money soon enough, so do not worry about it. Not to mention, you won’t have any need for most guns until after you’ve graduated. And by that time, you’ll be supplied with weapons whilst on assignments, or you’ll have more than enough funds to get whatever weapon you prefer.
