Kerash: The best academy for military studies is located on Earth. This is mostly because Earth is near the center of the federation and not anywhere near any active battle grounds. Thus, officials determined that this was a safe location to set up their training facilities. Also, Earth is one of the richest planets in our federation, so they have the money to provide for several of the materials needed. Do you understand now?
As for just collecting semon from you, we have determined that insemination is not necessarily the most effective way to achieve such results. The chances of sperm surviving to the egg are much less than if you were to couple in the natural form. So, we will have you breed with women of our choosing, including Noemi. Also, I never said that you’d be going to a camp just to breed. There is no reason to have you shipped out of this facility prematurely simply for that. *shakes her head* No, we shall bring them to you. If you do not comply at first, we will increase the hormonal treatments. Is that clear?
Noemi: *watches the screen with fascination. She carefully studies the images shown to her, taking them all in before speaking up to Dr. Jansen* Sir, if Jenova is a space-faring creature, how can we be certain that she actually came from that planet? What if that was only somplace that she stopped at for a bit then took off into space again? What if she took a right turn at some point and actually came from a very different location all together? *shakes her head* I don’t see how this can be determined without her pointing to her path herself… Unless she only glides through space and can’t actually guide herself when out there.
Dr Jansen: We don’t know much about Jenova’s space flight ability. All we know is that one day we seek to replicate that. It will mean the playing field will be levelled with the space dragons. At the moment they have the advantage in space. But as for your suggestion, yes. That has been brought up. *shakes his head* Jenova may or may not be able to control where she flies to in space, but until we have her shift into her space travelling form, we will never know.
Sephiroth: What? *deeply frowns* I don’t want to be a breeding mule… isn’t there any other way? *looks up at Kerash hopefully* I don’t want to have sex with just anyone, it’s just wrong. *shakes his head* It took me years to dig up enough courage to try that with Noemi. Please, think of something else?
Noemi: *nods as she absorbs all the information that the doctor is telling her. Her implants help her comprehend the full scope of the theories and studies that he is mentioning to her. Finally, she looks at the doctor again* Sir, wouldn’t you all loose her if she were to shift into that space-capable form? I mean what’s to say that she won’t just fly off if we allowed that to happen? *looks back at Jenova* Would Sephiroth one day achieve organs that would allow him to move freely in zero-gravity enviroments?
Kerash: No, Sephiroth. We had made this decicion several years ago. Since that time, we’ve looked at several females to see who would be the best genetic matches to form strong children. It won’t be long until we start this program. *narrows her eyes at him and leans in toward the boy* And you will cooperate or as I said, or we will take measures to insure your cooperation.
Dr Jansen: If she morphed into her space flight form, yes, I’d imagine the first thing she would do is try to escape. There’s many precautions in place to ensure that she doesn’t, however. As for Sephiroth being able to do this one day? I do not think so. Parts of Jenova were dated and she is more than 1000 years old – Sephiroth is not even 15. It may very well be something that Jenova’s kind devlops long after Sephiroth has lived his entire natural lifespan. If only we lived for more than 80 – 100 years.
Sephiroth: *opens his mouth as if to object, then closes it again, thinking better of it. He lowers his head, looking quite unhappy* Yes, ma’am…
Noemi: Yes, you’re right. Sephiroth only just turned 13, and he’s just a few months under being four years younger than I.. Still, it it possible that her evolutions will adjust themselves to his growth rate and thus he’d achieve things that she achieves much sooner? *mutters* And what about me? Draons are said to have slow aging development stages as well. Does that mean I’ll live longer or does that mean that I’ll never achieve my full potential? *releases a deep sigh* Are the scans done?
Kerash: *bobs her head in approval* Good. Now, two last things. I recall how much you were devistated when Gast died all those years ago. Tomorrow, Iflana and the daughter that she had with Gast is visiting. Do you want me to arrange for them to come and see you? I’m certain they would have no problems with that. And the last thing for today. We have another visitor in the complex. This one is a member of the so-called Clawian empire who allies themselves with us but refuses participation in the Federation. Her name is Seferia and she is the one single dragon on our side, despite the fact that she is a juvenile. Clawina and her have agreed to allow her to have her combat against you and give you a full feel of the power the dragons possess.
Dr Jansen: Those are both possibilities, yes. You may reach all the milestones by the time you are an adult, at the same rate a dragon would at its development level equivalent. You may never reach your potential either. As for the boy, we do not know. The Jenova cells have an adverse effect on the human body, even in subjects that were natural and had the cells added later. We’ve never done these experiments before, so we’ve no idea what answer to give you.
Sephiroth: *slowly nods his head* I’d like to see Gast’s wife and his daughter if they will allow it. *frowns at the mention of Seferia* If this dragon is a juvenile, how will I be able to deel the full power of a dragon? A juvenile doesn’t exhibit the properties of a full grown one. Even you would argue that I am not as strong as Jenova. She’s full grown – I’m a juvenile. How is it an accurate demonstration?
Noemi: *nods* I understand. Well, I certainly hope that Sephiroth and I do not die out before our full potential could have been achieved. That would most certainly be a great shame.. *moves back over to the window to look in on Jenova* Are the scans nearly done, Doctor? Will you be cutting her open soon?
Kerash: That is up to you to figure out a strategy, Sephiroth. That is why she was brought here. To help you learn how to strategize against the full-grown dragons who are our enemies. *walks over to her desk and presses a communicator* Dr. Erickson, please escort our guest into my office.
Seferia: *is currently in a form that makes her look like a black-furred humanoid feline with white hair. She silently stands in the decontamination room as she awaits for someone to give her access*
Dr Jansen: The scans will be done soon. Have patience, Noemi. As for what will happen to her next, if the scans are extensive enough, we won’t have to do anything more than that. We seek to avoid cutting her open as that will create unnecessary damage and she could take years to recover. We do not want to, however.
Sephiroth: *frowns, slowly nodding his head* Yes, Kerash. I understand… I shall do my best.
Dr Erickson: *speaks with Kerash on the communicator* Yes, right away, Kerash. The guest is waiting just nearby. I shall escort her in. *steps out of his office and into the hallway. He knocks on the glass to attract Seferia’s attention* Stay there, ma’am. Once you are cleared from the decontamination area, you may follow me. Your opponent is waiting. *presses the controls to flush the decontamination chamber with air and disinfectant mist, then opens the doors* This way please.
Noemi: *blinks in confusion* But… Didn’t Kerash say for you guys to disect her in order to look at her internal organs? I could have sworn that is what I heard her say. I don’t understand why you are not following what she told you to do.
Seferia: *narrows her eyes as the disinfectant spray covers her. Once the doors open, she uses her psychic abilities to shove the spray in Dr. Erickson’s direction before stepping out* You may stay, human. I need no directions. Your mind already told me everything. *remains utterly seriou as she strolls down the hallways to Kerash’s room. Each step of hers echoes the confidence and pride that had been taught to her by Clawina. Within minutes, she enters Kerash’s office and looks down at Sephiroth*
Kerash: And there she is. Sephiroth, meet Seferia.
Dr Jansen: She said “do it if we have to”. At this time, I do not think it is necessary to cut her open for the reasons I just explained. We are doing exactly was we are told to do. If it becomes necessary to cut her open, we will do just that.
Sephiroth: *looks up at Seferia and offer her a hand* Ah, hello there. *moves to stand on his feet and looks directly up at her, showing no fear*
Noemi: I understand now. Sorry for bothering you with all the questions, Doctor. *gives Jansen a polite bow then looks around. After locating a comfortable chair, she settles down in it and watches the machines that are displaying the results for the scan. She is particularly fascinated at how the computers are building models based on the scans, especially since they are considerably detailed*
Seferia: *slowly shifts her head so that it is tilted down to look at Sephiroth. She doesn’t say anything at first, but eventually, she nods* ~Hello, human named Sephiroth.~ *she barely ever blinks her eyes and continues to stare directly at him as if she is looking straight through him and into his very being. In addition, the female “feline” is incredibly serious and shows nearly no sign of emotion, though this aspect is partially because she is not quite used to mimicing other creatures’ expressions.*
Dr Jansen: Don’t get too excited over there. This machine can give us detailed data, but not microscopic information. If the the occurance in Sephiroth’s heart is in Jenova’s as well and that scan is not detailed, we will have to crack open her chest cavity and take it out. You may very well see your friend’s prototype be taken apart yet.
Sephiroth: *shivers slightly, not liking the fact that Seferia’s eyes are seeming to pierce right through him. He blinks for a few moments, but doesn’t break eye contact with her* So, are you looking forward to sparring with me today? I hope you are more of a challenge than the Sangheili. They were unpleasant to fight, but easy enough.
Noemi: Well, sir, they are very impressive immaging machines whether they get you all the data you need or not. But… *turns her attentions to the doctor* Can Jenova really be considered a prototype? I mean yes she’s the basis to Sephiroth, but isn’t he the prototype? I thought he was the first of a group of soldiers that the company intended to create for the war effort.. *frowns in thought* Have you heard anything of the Spartan experiments? I think I’ve read something about that project a year ago or so.
Seferia: *continues to give Sephiroth the same unblinking, focused stare for a few more minutes. Finally, she decides that he’s worthwhile to answer. Her voice would pierce through his head in nearly the same way that her gaze does* ~I assure you that you will not have the ease of available attacks that Sanghelli give to their opponents. You are likely not to have a chance to beat me tonight, boy.~ *turns her gaze to look at Kerash, waiting for her to indicate when they should leave*
Dr Jansen: I’ve heard something about them, but not much. It’s classified, even among us scientists. Don’t worry though Noemi, it is just another project running to help assist in this war. It’s been in production far longer than both your and Sephiroth’s projects have though, there are many more of them than there are you and Sephiroth. Both of you are proving to be rather sucessful, so the same thing may happen to your projects. I expect you would be pleased to hear of more being created that are just like you?
Sephiroth: *slowly nods his head, then slides out of his chair* Lady Seferia and I are acquainted. We are good to spar now. Let us know where to do so. *bows his head to Kerash*
Noemi: Well.. I suppose so. I mean, if that will help us end the war, then that is good, right? I want to help us win the war. *nods* I don’t want trillions of people to die because I was selfish. That would be horrible. Still, I also hope that Sephiroth and myself on our own could win the war for the federation.
Kerash: Very well then, get going. *waves her clawed hand at them. She is paying more attention to the paperwork on her desk than the pair of them* Show her to the sparring room. From there, she will take over.
Seferia: That is unnecessary. *turns around then heads out of the office. She immediately takes the straightest route to the said sparring room then moves into the middle of it. From there, she waits for Sephiroth to catch up to her*
Sephiroth: *heads out of the office, following Seferia to the training area* Are we using weapons, or what?
Dr Jansen: One may say that is a bit egotistical, to think that you can win an entire war based on your own ideas. You need a team, a ship, backup, a strategy, and a lot of power. *moves to see the results of the scan, then sighs. He places his glasses down on the desk, then walks away to put on surgeon’s gloves and a hairnet* Stay in here.
Seferia: *looks up at Seph as he inquires about the weapons* ~That is your choice. I shall give you whichever training you want. Even if I am unarmed and you have weapons, I doubt you’ll be able to remain standing infront of me.~
Noemi: It’s just.. Well… I”d rather be able to save others from having to go through the sort of life that Sephiroth and I have been born to. I understand our place, but that does not make it easier for us to bare.
Dr Jansen: If anything, I would think that you would be thrilled to see others that are like yourselves. The council may also seek to breed you with others like yourselves. It would not take any effort at all on their behalf to arrange a breeding with either you, Sephiroth, or one of the members of the Spartan project.
Sephiroth: *slowly nods his head* Open and closed handed combat works well enough for me… *closes his eyes and bows to Seferia for a moment, then moves into a fighting stance, slowly moving in on her, his eyes bright and keen as he looks for openings and holes to attack*(
Noemi: *Frowns as she considers what the Doctor is telling her* Sir, if I am breeding all the time, wouldn’t I not be much use in battle? I mean, it is written down in books that pregnant women cannot function as well as non-pregnant women, especially during the final trimester. So, does this mean that my entire life will be getting pregnant over and over again?
(side note: the technology is strong enough that they can wait for the fetus to become stable then extract it from the mother while it’s still early in the development phase and have it grown outside the body.)
Seferia: *closes her eyes, pretending that she is paying no attention to Sephiroth in the least. In fact, she doesn’t even bother moving from her standing position in the middle of the room. So, he may be lulled into thinking that she’s leaving herself wide open. However, Seferia is conducting an attact of a different nature. Since she specializes in being able to flood a person’s psyche with their fears, she is digging around Sephy’s mind and quickly working on trapping him in an illusion born of his own worst fears*
Dr Jansen: You wouldn’t spend your entire life getting pregnant over and over. But some of it, yes. You will not have to birth the infant, only conceive. Once the foetus is big enough, it can be extracted and grown outside of you. It is reasonable enough to give you fertility drugs and have you conceive five, possibly even six children at once with this method. It would only put you out of action for a few days at most.
Sephiroth: *growls as his fears begin to surface in his mind, then tries to ignore them and continue charging forwards* What are you doing!? I said this was a fist fight only! *loudly whimpers and tries to slam her in the stomach with a closed fist*
Noemi: So, you’re saying that theoreticly.. I can have seventy-two children a year? *there is nearly no emotion to her voice because she’s in shock at the mere thought of such. She’s never considered herself to be a baby-making machine before, so she doesn’t quite know what to make out of this news. So, she just stans up and politely bows* I’m sorry, Doctor, but I wish to leave to check up on Sephiroth. *moves toward the exit*
Seferia: *remains steadfast and serious. Her entire stance brims with confidence as she strikes out at Sephiroth’s mind, working on turning those fears into reality-distorting illusions that would incapacitate him* ~The first rule of dealing with a dragon, do not expect that their physical prowless is there only weapon. We have much, much, much more than simply that.~ *lifts her hand to grab Sephiroth’s fist. Once it’s firmly in her hand, she looks directly down at him. If here were to look up, he’d most likely see her nearly glowing yellow eyes first and foremost*
Sephiroth: *cringes in fear and torment as his innermost fears are brought to the surface, and his mind is tricked into believing that they are real. He tries to shake his hand out of her grasp as it is grabbed, squeezing his eyes shut as he tries to force the illusions from his mind* No, stop it!! *loudly whimpers* Get away from me! *tries to yank his arm away and stumble back*
Dr Jansen: *nods his head* Do not be alarmed. That was only a theory in any case. Sephiroth is being planned for much more than a theory however.
Seferia: *lets go of Sephiroth’s fists, no longer having any use for holding him put. In fact, she no longer even needs to actively attack him at this point. She is simply allowing his fears to attack him for her* ~You failed to potect yourself sufficiently at the beginning of the fight. Next time, do not expect that rules that humans play with are the same as what dragons use.~ *moves past Sephiroth* ~You are likely to faint soon. Have a good rest.~
Noemi: *doesn’t pay attention to the doctor any longer and walks out of the room. She first stops in the room meant for Sephy and herself, but she finds that it is empty. So, she dashes out into the hallway and goes in search for Sephy. She manages to locate his position just as Seferia exits the training room. After staring at Seferia for a brief moment, she dashes into the room* Sephiroth? *gasps as she notices Seph’s position and runs to his side*
Sephiroth: *falls forwards as Seferia lets go of his fist, thumping down onto the floor. He continues to loudly whimper, not even paying attention to what Seferia says as he curls up on the floor, shaking in fear at his own memories, and images dragged into his concious mind. He does not notice Noemi either as she approaches*
