For Jenna, the following months seem to take forever. Mostly because she’s had to endure not really being able to see too well at all, hopping around on one foot, and being prodded by Zach for medical examinations. By the time that Feburary comes around, she is more than glad to hear that she can have the cast removed from her foot. However, being free of the cast doesn’t spare her from walking into things since her vision is rather shot and she refuses to get anything to help her with it.
Meanwhile, Seres has been more than happy to hear that she can enroll in a SOLDIER preparation program that will allow her to join at the age of thirteen. So, as soon as March comes, she happily enrolls in the next session. Given that the courses still run on Gaea’s timing, most other countries in the area consider the timing of their courses to be quite strange.
Dimitri has spent these three months helping out Edgeworth as best he can. However, his attitude has changed slightly since Desiree outed the fact that he has a crush. He is much more shy now, for he still isn’t certain what Edgeworth’s opinion of his crush is. He also doesn’t want to trouble the man. He’s also done his best to keep Phoenix distracted if he asks about Edgeworth.
Desiree, on the other hand, doesn’t have many changes in her life. She’s continued to study the dark arts with her demons and Kalysto. However, she doesn’t delve too deeply into it. She’s also started trying to see if she can perhaps potty train Orpheus, for she’s noticed that he is developing at a slightly faster rate than most human children.
Now that Kalysto has moved his plantation of various medicinal and cooking herbs and spices off the property and has employed multiple people to help him maintain and farm it, he seems much less stressed out. He spends more and more of his time in the dark-room of the house concocting away on new potions and elixers, sometimes with explosive and hilarious results. Today he is working on a massive batch of invisibility potions due to the fact he is out of them and they are good sellers. He has also finally enrolled Milena into a Daycare both to get her out of the house, and to socialise with others.
Sephiroth has switched between his work, his home, and Jenna. He keeps an eye on her most of the time when he is not ordering the army around. While he wouldn’t impede her from doing most of her daily activities, he acts a bit more like an overprotective parent in restricting her from doing certain things like leaving the house.
Edgeworth keeps himself busy by doing his job. Although it would look rather funny as a 13 year old working at a proper desk job, he doesn’t seem to care. He doesn’t press Dimitri at all about his feelings and they may even appear outwardly inconsequential to him.
Dimitri: *is currently heading to Mia and Phoenix’s office, intending to drop off a pile of papers that Edgeworth had set aside to go to them. Thus, he silently slips inside before he dumps the papers on Pheonix’s desk*
Jenna: *is currently tolerating another examination from Zach. She crosses her arms as he checks her over, seeming to be quite agitated. For the most part, though, her agitation is because Seph has been so protective over her*
Zach: *props his glasses up on his face, humming at Jenna’s progress. He pokes and prods her body on the outside, trying to determine if things are going normally* Sorry… *scribbles stuff down, nodding silently*
Phoenix: *notices Dimitri anyway* Oh hi there! Looking for something? Mia’s busy but I could help you out!
Jenna: *tilts her head as she watches Zach. She then mutters* You better not ever put your hair in a pony tail. Or else you’d resemble a silver-haired Hojo with your glasses and clipboard… and coat… *shakes her head* Seph would definitely be displeased if that ever happened.
Dimitri: Umm… *quickly shakes his head* No, I’m not looking for anything at all. I was just depositing those papers. Miles said that they go to you guys, not to him. *glances to the side* Umm… He still hasn’t seen you, has he?
Zach: Hell no, mom. I keep it short and I keep my glasses fashionable. I don’t want to look like Hojo. Ok, so I’m messing around with Jenova cells but I don’t have anyone locked up in cages. That just violates basic human rights. *wraps an armband around her and begins to take her blood pressure* I’m still surprised everything lived through the ordeal at the restaurant.
Phoenix: Phh. Edgeworth kicked me out. I’m renting an apartment with three people across town. I have to take a bus to get here every morning.
Jenna: I’m certain that one human woman that got mauled died… No way a regular human could survive Beserk’s attacks. If the bites didn’t kill her, the poison must have.. *shakes her head* And.. Hmm… Have we ever shown you pictures of your name’s sake?
Dimitri: *lowers his head* Oh… Umm… *frowns* It’s been a real long time. I’ve been respecting his decision to hide, but perhaps you should see him and see why he did that… I think he’s self-conscious at the moment.
Zach: No, I don’t think so. But this is hardly the time or place for it. *picks up a needle and jabs her in the arm with it* When was the last time you had…. anything? *grumbles and tosses the needle into the garbage, then paces away to look at one of his charts*
Phoenix: Yeah but he has to give it up some time, huh?
Jenna: Last time I had anything? That’s not a very specific question, Zach. *crosses her arms* And you’ve examined me a few times now, so whatever you want to scold me for, you’ve had your chances. *she glances down at her abdomen, which is now clearly showing her pregnancy*
Dimitri: *bites his lip then sighs* He’s in his office now. I can let you in, if you want to talk to him…
Zach: Yeah, yeah…. *pulls his gloves back and snaps them loudly, flinging them into the garbage* You wouldn’t listen to it anyway. *rips off a tab at the bottom* Sign here. Everything checks out. Though I didn’t like the last sonogram I saw. The baby seemed a bit.. I don’t know. Inactive?
Phoenix: I have no need to talk to him. He will grump about anyway.
Jenna: *crosses her arms* Try me. What exactly wouldn’t I listen to? I’d like to know. *she then frowns* The fetus is inactive? What does that mean?
Dimitri: *sighs* LIsten…. I have been respecting his privacy for these last few months, but… *glances to the side* Umm… Something happened to him. It wasn’t his choosing, and he’s suffering a bit. You probably should see him so you’d know..
Zach: Have you felt it kick around much? By about now, most pregnant women complain of being kicked in the ribs, squashed inside, all kinds of things. But this child remains curled up and not very active.
Phoenix: I don’t want to disturb him, but I’ll talk to him after work…
Jenna: Hrmm… Now that you mention it… It hasn’t kicked as much as previous pregnancies. However, I have felt it move often enough.. *shrugs* Still, what does that mean?
Dimitri: Alright… I’ll try to stall him so that he doesn’t just lock himself in his house. *nods and backs away* I should get back now.
Zach: I don’t know what it means. We did ultrasounds before, and it looked fine. Maybe it’s just really inactive and doesn’t want to move. You’d have to wait until it’s out to see any real damage. Though on all the scans it looked healthy and fine… maybe I am worrying too much. You were out for a long time.
Phoenix: Yeah, take care, kid. Keep an eye on him.
Jenna: Hrm… Yes, perhaps it’s just nothing. *shrugs then stands up* So, you are done with this round, Zach? *she moves toward the door, but nearly walks into the doorway*
Dimitri: Mmmm… *nods before he lifts his wings up a bit to make certain they don’t touch the ground. He then jogs back to Edgeworth’s office*
Zach: Yeah. Come back in a couple of weeks. That will be the final poking and prodding before the birth. Sorry about this. *grins hopelessly* Though our family has gotten many of the people here a better understanding of special talents and they’re far less afraid of us than they were.
Edgeworth: *just silently works, giving no hint or expression as to what he is feeling or thinking*
Jenna: *nods* Schedule me for when you think will be the best time, Zach. I don’t exactly have a busy schedule. *shakes her head* I’m glad that you’re comfortable with your chosen profession. Oh.. *she filcks her hand to cast a spell that makes a few pictures of Zach fair, taken at various ages of the man, appear on top of Zach’s clipboard* That’s the boy that you were named after. He was Seph’s second before Nibelheim.
Dimitri: *takes his normal seat before he begins on sorting the files in the stack set aside for him*
Zach: His second what? Lover? *snorts at his own statement, laughing lightly* His second… yeah that sounds so wrong right there. Seriously, now. *shakes his head at Jenna and grins at her* You can’t not think about that and laugh.
Edgeworth: I am going to take another early day. I think I have my case solved.
Jenna: *gives Zach a tired sigh* Second in command. Lieutenant. So on. *shakes her head* No matter, I thought you might want to see the hair style in the least. *shrugs then leaves* ~Seph, I am done here. Can you help me get home?~
Dimitri: Case solved? *blinks as he looks up at Edgeworth, confused*
Zach: Is that the cut with the outrageously spikey hair? Because I have seen it… and it looks annoying to maintain. *pushes the Exam door open* There you go. Take care now. I’ll probabyl see you again at the house.
Edgeworth: I think I have solved it. That is what I am saying.
Jenna: Thank you once more, Zach. *nods at him. She then heads to the foyer to the clinic before she sighs and waits for Seph to help her get home*
Dimitri: What was the case? I didn’t know that there was a case at all… Thought it was mostly just paperwork.
Edgeworth: The DL-6 Incident. *folds his arms* You knew I was working on it. What other case could I possibly have been working on? We haven’t even had a case since I got here you know. There hasn’t even been a murder.
Sephiroth: *walks into the clinic and steps over to Jenna, moving to scoop her up in his arms* We’re done, I take it.
Dimitri: Oh right… *gives Edgeworth a small, but clearly embarrassed smile* Yea, I was confused since I hadn’t really heard of much violence around here at all. I think most people are too scared of my Father’s sword to do things… Yet. *shakes his head* So, what did you find out, Miles?
Jenna: *yelps as Seph picks her up. She then rolls her eyes at him* Yes, I’m done. And you could have just escorted me… *shakes her head* Zach said everything checked out fine, though he was concerned that the fetus isn’t too active. *shrugs*
Edgeworth: It’s private…. *picks up some legal documents and hands them to Dimitri* Go read these and keep yourself occupied. We just got approved to have a courthouse here in 2016. You’d better get started on learning for it.
Sephiroth: Odd. I wonder why that is. Oh well, if it’s normal… so what if it doesn’t move very much?
