Edgeworth: I wear my suit because it makes me look like a respectable member of society. I have a few more casual clothes packed away in the suitcase, but I prefer to wear things that make me look like a clean and dignified person.
Dimitri: Ah, I see.. *nods his head and mumbles* You might want to teach spikey-hair about wearing dumb stuff though.. *he looks up as the waitress comes by and orders some crepes*
Edgeworth: Yes, Mia’s protégé has no sense of street fashion. But he will be wearing proper suits before too long. Once they get finished with his training and he begins actual work, I imagine that he would be wearing a suit like the rest of us.
Dimitri: *mumbles* Hopefully not puke pink.. *he then pulls out his homework so that he could get to work on it again* Mother said she has equation that prove that more spikey a person’s hair is, the less intelligent they are.
Edgeworth: Huh. I have not heard that one before. *shrugs* As for Mia’s protégé wearing… puke pink coloured suits… I doubt it. The shops along the walkway have blue suits, red ones, and black. Relatively boring and cheap. No bright colours at all.
Dimitri: *slowly nods his head at Edgeworth’s words. He then grins* That’s good. *frowns as he works on a rather complex math equation* I hate math…
Edgeworth: *shuffles about in his chair, then leans over to peer at Dimitri’s work* Ahh… changing decimals to fractions, and so on. It’s not that hard, really. If anything, it is dull. *when the waitress comes around with Dimitri’s crepes, he orders another cup of coffee, handing her his empty plate*
Dimitri: *grumbles* Well, I never was good at math. It sucks. *he promptly slides his homework to the side as his food comes. He then begins to dig into the crepes. His eating habits are exceptionally clean for a boy of his age*
Edgeworth: You don’t have to specialise in any of that if you do not want to. They are just giving you the homework because they want you to think. *takes his cup of coffee and begins to sip on it, sighing as he holds onto the cup, letting the warmth seep into his fingers*
Dimitri: *slowly nods his head* Yea, yea.. Need to learn everything until college when I can pick what I want to learn. I know. They tell me that all the time. *he then looks up at Edgewroth* Umm… your friends doing ok?
Edgeworth: My friends? My sister is still getting used to the idea of what has happened in the world around her. You had an incident this morning that probably needs sorting out. Apart from that, I really don’t have friends around here. *takes another sip from his coffee and sets it down to continue reading the paper*
Dimitri: *blinks as Edgeworth mentions him. He then grins as he realizes what that means, but he doesn’t really point it out. Instead, he just glances down at his food* Just jerks from school… They do that to everyone. They thought it funny to try to see me fly.
Edgeworth: How did they even manage to get you up there? Did they push you up the stairs? I didn’t hear any noises, and I was in the building where the incident occured. I have one of them stuck in my office right now.
Dimitri: They dragged me up there through the elevator then shoved me as high as they could get me… *lowers his head* I don’t like heights… *slowly spreads open the wing that was once broken* Fell out of a tree when I was little.
Edgeworth: *sighs* You know what they did was considered to be harassment, right? You could prosecute them on charges of assault and intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Dimitri: *shakes his head* No, I didn’t know that. *frowns as he takes another bite of his crepe* They bully all the smaller kids in school, not just me. It really sucks.
Edgeworth: I see. That shouldn’t be allowed to persist for much longer. *frowns* Though… it is Saturday. How did they encounter you on a day where there is no school?
Dimitri: *points out to the street, trying to indicate where the barbeque restaurant is* I was in a restaurant because Father makes really, really, really bad food. Guess they were hanging out in the same area and saw me. *Shrugs* Not a big island, so guess that it not hard for something like that to happen.
Edgeworth: *frowns and looks outside, nodding* I see, I see. *shakes his head* They need to watch their behaviour. Something like that could get them removed from the island. Especially seeing as though the authorities here want to protect certain types of people on the island.
Dimitri: *nods* Father probably going to greet them to Masamune. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if that happen. *finishes up his crepes then softly speaks* Thank you for breakfast, Mr. Edgeworth.
Edgeworth: *nods his head* Be more attentive and more careful next time. What those boys did to you was nothing short of criminal. Hopefully they can be dealt with as soon as possible. *closes up his newspaper, having finished reading it* Though, knowing Mia, she will defend them and say they were playing around, or harmless…
Dimitri: Wouldn’t matter how attentive I was, sir. They’re stronger than me. I tried to fight back, but… I’m not like sister or father. They probably wouldn’t have been dragged anywhere.
One of the bellhops for the restaurant comes up to Edgworth and offers him his mail for the day. Within the mail is a letter that details the autopsy of the deceased Von Karma. Within the report is the record of a bullet that was found and assumed to be related to a rather old case.
Edgeworth: You do not need to call me ‘sir’. My name is Miles. And… *brushes his bangs back with a hand, sighing* I don’t really know what else I can suggest about those children. *takes up the mail and begins to read through the documentation, becoming very silent indeed*
Dimitri: I wouldn’t mind if you prosecute them, si- I mean Miles. *lowers his head* And sorry, my family is very formal… Well, most of us. *frowns* Zach is an idiot, and I don’t know where he picked up his habits. *he then notices the silence, so he decides to return to his homework*
Edgeworth: **silently reads over the report again, deeply frowning as he does. He finally makes a tired sigh and sets his work aside, shaking his head* My family was very formal also. Both my father and I were quiet well mannered people. The Von Karmas were also very formal and well mannered. They also strived for perfection.
