Edgeworth: You did? A child of your age read my books? That genuinely surprises me. *pauses* Are you interested in persuing a career in law when you leave school? If you are, study hard. That is all I can say. It will help prepare you for what lies ahead.
Dimitri: *grins at the compliment and quickly nods his head* Yea, read them all. They very good. *he then tilts his head before pouting slightly* Don’t need to be good with math, right..? Math sucks.
Edgeworth: It depends on the field you choose to persue. If you study Business Law, yes. An Estate Planning attorney may also need mathematical skills. Criminal law does not. Divorce lawyers typically do not, most of the time. There are many legal specialities that do not require a large amount of mathematical skills. If you are interested I can give you the titles of several books that may help and inspire you.
Sephiroth: *rather openly* My son is still young. He has many years to decide which career path he chooses. *steps out of the elevator* This way. I trust you are tired so I will not ask you to jump straight into the front line here. *heads out of the ShinRa Building, heading for the inn across the street*
Dimitri: *a grin spreads on his face as Edgeworth speaks to him. He then nods. However, he pouts as Sephiroth speaks up then lowers his head* Not that young… *he then grasps onto Edgeworth’s hand again so he can continue to escort the man to the inn*
Edgeworth: What made you interested in law at such a young age? Most choose it when they leave school because it is profitable. *is led by Dimitri to the inn, not seeming to mind that the boy is dragging him most of the way there*
Sephiroth: *just carries the luggage into the inn, silent*
Dimitri: Umm… *tilts his head in thought* I dunno. Saw one your books in the library and picked it up. It was fun. So, like the idea of becoming like you. *grins at Edgeworth* And.. you were younger when you got interested. Said so in one of your books..
Sephiroth: *sets the bags down in the hallway and steps aside as one of the Inn attendants begin to wheel the bags away. He lightly nudges Dimitri* *”Go show him to his room.”*
Edgeworth: Ah, yes. I was quite young when my legal career began. It is a worthy profession and the search for truth and justice is well worth the outcome.
Dimitri: *grins and nods at his father’s instructions* Will do, father. *he then glances at the key that Sephiroth gave him before he hands them up to Edgeworth* Here, these yours. *After glancing up at a map, he begins trying to lead Edgeworth to his room* Mother and Father just kill those that annoy them. Don’t think they care much about justice..
Sephiroth: *makes a sudden uncomfortable noise* *”Don’t tell him that!! He’s a criminal lawyer and prosecutes murderers. We want him to like us. Don’t turn him against us the moment he has arrived!”* Hah… hah hah. Don’t be so silly, Dimitri. I showed you what I was trying to do for this island. *grunts sharply at him*
Edgeworth: *stares at Dimitri for a few moments in silence once the keys are handed over* Thank you… *unlocks his door* I am going to rest now. Thank you for your hospitality. *takes his bags in and shuts his door*
Dimitri: *lowers his head* Sorry, Father… *shuffles his wings about, clearly uncomfortable. He then blinks and frowns as Edgeworth just leaves* That it?
Sephiroth: He has come a long way. He did travel for eight hours by plane, and then three hours by helicopter to get here. He is most likely tired and weary from travel. Come back tomorrow. I am sure things will be better.
Dimitri: *nods his head* Alright, Father. *he then steps away and moves to Sephiroth’s side* Sorry… Didn’t mean to make problems.
Sephiroth: *reaches out to pat Dimitri on the head* It’s alright. You can’t exactly escape my murderous past, but I can at least plead insanity. I would rather present the entire case file before declaring me a cold blooded murderer with no sense of justice to a lawyer. That is not even an accurate representation of me, is it? You need to think before you make a statement of somebody’s character. *heads to exit the building* Tomorrow you should ask for his autograph on your books by him.
Dimitri: *grins as his head is pat. He then looks up at Sephiroth before nodding* Yea, should do that… *nods* Will do that. I would like his autograph. *giggles then runs off* Meet you home, father!
Sephiroth: *waves goodbye to Dimitri and slowly heads back to the house at a more casual pace. He wanders into the house and sighs, moving up the stairs to look around for Jenna, lightly purring as he attempts to track her down*
Jenna: *is currently reading in the bedroom. She’s healed up more or less, though she is still under orders from her physicians to rest. Thus, she is spending most of her time in the bedroom for now*
Sephiroth: *moves into the bedroom and heads over to Jenna, leaning over her, purring louder as he crouches down to attempt to kiss her forehead, grinning* How have you been holding up these last few days?
Jenna: *closes her book then rolls her eyes at Sephiroth* I’m fine, my love. You don’t need to ask me that every time that you see me. *shakes her head at him then wraps her arms about his neck* You look like you want something, though.
Sephiroth: I want to know how you are… what’s so wrong with that…? *moves to sit on the bed beside her and purrs louder, seeming pleased by the affection* You seem annoyed by my asking… is something the matter?
Jenna: Only that you have been asking me that same question every single day since I got home. No, even before then. *she then leans up to lick the ridge of his nose* You’re such a worrier. *smirks at him* And I still say you look like you really want something.
Sephiroth: I don’t necessarily want anything. I want you to be well. Does that count? *purrs and tries to snuggle against her, then relaxes, closing his eyes, seeming content to just be in her prescence* What are you reading…
Jenna: Well, I’m not reading anymore, so that question doesn’t apply, hm? *She shifts to face Sephiroth. She then wraps her arms about his shoulders* It wasn’t much of anything anyway, just some dumb book that apparently has been released about you thanks to one idiot named Cloud Strife babbling too much to other idiots.
Sephiroth: *snorts* Tabloids will write anything. There’s a gag order on a lot of my files. They can’t do very much. *scowls* Why don’t you read something else? A book on the subject of law, the ones that Dimitri has been reading recently. The man who wrote them is staying in ShinRa’s guest suite.
Jenna: One problem with your gag order, Seph.. *she grabs the book and hands it to Sephiroth* First of all, it’s not a tabloid. Second, the book was not written on this island or “country”, so your gag order has no jurisdiction. Third, Nibelheim and it’s manor is not located on this island either. And that mansion has files on your creation. *She then frowns* Books on law? *shakes her head* Maybe if I get really bored..
Sephiroth: I shall have to go to Nibelheim and cite ownership of the files… a book like that should never be published. They’re going to use all my data against me as a reason to bomb the island. *deeply scowls, shaking his head* I shouldn’t be in any position of power. They’ll use everything against me as an excuse to kill us all.
