Over the course of the following week, Jenna manages to heal up for the most part. Without Azul in her uterus, she regains her strength enough to heal properly. She has also sneakingly used a few healing spells to speed along the process as well. Thus, both she and Azul are released to return home by the Friday after she had gone into labor.
Meanwhile, Dimitri has excitedly awaited the end of the week. For, he has known that his father had managed to get Edgeworth to come to their island. So, he’s been rushing around for the most part, cleaning his room, which was already clean by most people’s standards, as well as the house. He’s also re-read a few of Edgeworth’s books. If anyone misses the fact that he’s anticipating the visit, they’d probably be rather dense.
Meanwhile, Desiree has gathered all her belongings and managed to move nearly everything into her new household. Thus, for the time being, she’s trying to figure out where things should go in the house. She’s also tried to get both Droozun and Mahret to help her move things into position.
Droozun: *follows Desiree around with a bunch of books rather precariously wrapped in his fel-stalkers. He grunts impatiently as he trots around after her, waiting for her to make up her mind on where they are going to go*
Mahret: *is helping Desiree by eating various bugs around the area. She spots a mouse-hole and pokes her tongue into it, trying to lick the mouse out of there*
Sephiroth: *has been keeping himself busy with town planning and authorization of the peace-keeping efforts in the area. There have been more soldiers marching around recently for he has stepped up security, not wanting any problems to break out*
Desiree: Hmm… *shoves a bookshelf into place, then steps back, examining her handiwork. At long last, she nods and glances at Droozun* Ok, go ahead and put the books away on that shelf. *she then stretches* Man, we got a lot of work done today, huh?
Dimitri: *paces back and forth in his room, glancing at the clock. Finally, he slips out of the house and heads for his father’s office. Once outside, he hops up to press the intercom button* Father? Can I come in?
Sephiroth: “Of course.” *there is a loud electronic click as Sephiroth activates the door, unlocking it from the button on his desk* What did you want to talk about? *reads over some more papers, seeming pleased that he’s finally getting through it all*
Droozun: *clumsily shoves the books in place because he doesn’t have the same dexterity as a person with hands* Ih-ih! *”We get work done. House feel like yours yet?”* *yawns, scratching his side* *”Mice. Why always mice? Get cat to eat. Not Felhunter.”*
Dimitri: *jogs over to one of the chairs on the side of Sephiroth’s chair. He then climbs up into it before he glances over at Sephiroth* Just want to wait here. His plane is coming soon, right? He is coming? He didn’t cancel, did he..? *his wings sag as he thinks over his last question*
Lezprah: *his mist suddenly rushes out of several of the small mice holes in the walls. Soon after, his mist slithers through the living room before it forms over where Mahret is. Once it forms a cloud over Mahret, he drops about two dozen mice of various ages and sizes on top of the felhunter* ~I better hunter.~ *grins then rematerialized so that he can hop onto the couch in the living room*
Desiree: *chuckles* Of course it feels like my house, Droozun. What a silly thing to say. *she then blinks as she hears the thunder of thumps from the falling mice. She then groans and shakes her head* Umm… you guys eat those, ok?
Mahret: Eeeee! *very quickly snaps up the mouse corpses, crunching them up in her teeth before they can get away, thoroughly enjoying the sound they make when she bites them* *”Hunt more crunchy tiny things with legs!”*
Sephiroth: He is arriving by helicopter in about… *glances at the clock* 1pm. Ten minutes from now. *turns to glance at the computer beside his desk* The weather is clear and fine over the island. Not a single hurricane in sight. There will be no delays.
Lezprah: *Yawns* ~Tomorrow. Get all I find. Now, I sleep. You continue sticking fat tongue in holes. Maybe catch wire.~ *his body shakes as he releases a dark chuckle*
Dimitri: *broadly grins at the news. He then flaps his wings in anticipation* Really? Yay, that’s soon. *nods then scoots closer to Sephiroth* What are you working on?
Mahret: *”Don’t bite wire. It send electric magic at you.”*
Sephiroth: What am I working on… *glances down at his papers, then back at Dimitri* A new nation is going to be forged soon. We are going to become an officially recognised country. President Rufus will be it’s leader. We are going to be a country free of prejudice. It will be a safe place for elves, psychics, those with inborn magic abilities, those who use materia, all who came from Gaia before, all who were special on Earth and so on. This place also needs infrastructure. Housing. More roads. More facilities. Businesses, plumbing, jobs, everything you can think of that makes a society thrive. I also need that lawyer to draw up many details… it’s going to be a busy week.
Dimitri: Ah. *Slowly nods his head* That sound like a lot of work, father. *he then glances back at his wings before he reaches back to pick at an imperfection in one of his scales* We have enough land for that though? That sound like it need lots and lots of land..
Sephiroth: *moves a piece of paper over to show Dimitri* High-rise apartments. A mall with apartments on the top floor. We’re going to build on the eastern side of the island where the ground is much more stable. If you dig only 6 feet down, there is a heavy amount of volcanic rock. The island will be perfectly suited to some building and careful planning.
*there is the sound of a helicopter buzzing overhead*
Dimitri: That still sound like lot of squishing.. We not gonna get squished like that, right? Not want to be squished like that.. *he then looks up as he hears the helicopter* He here? *broadly grins* It’s him, right? He really here?
Sephiroth: *shakes his head* Our house is in a residential zone. There may be some condominums that will appear around the streets years from now, but there will need to be building codes in order before anyone can destroy the land with construction. The islands in this entire area are subject to hurricanes, flooding, tsunamis, volcano eruptions. I am not sure what will happen. *rises to his feet* That is most likely Miles Edgeworth’s helicopter now. Shall we go meet him?
Dimitri: *broadly grins and nods his head* Yea! Let’s go! *he hops out of his chair then moves to grasp onto Sephiroth’s left hand* We show him good time, right?
Sephiroth: *seems amused* He’s here on business and I hear he is even grumpier than I am. He may not be interested in having fun. I also imagine he is tired. *reaches into his pocket, taking out keys* Here. Give these to him. *also hands over a keycard* He is staying in the guest suite at the inn across from this building. *walks into the hallway and takes the elevator to the top floor where there is a helicopter powering down on the roof*
Dimitri: *latches onto the items that Sephiroth gave him then nods at him* Will do! *broadly grins at his father and continues to follow. Once they reach the top level, he pulls his wings up in front of himself in order to buffer the force of the winds* Those things don’t feel like they’d be fun to ride.
Sephiroth: *makes a slight nod and adopts his signature scowl* You are correct. They are not fun to ride. They can be cramped and crowded. If you are stuck in one for some hours you may find yourself uncomfortable, there is usually no restroom on board. *walks across to the helipad, watching Edgeworth step out of the helicopter* I trust you had a good flight.
Edgeworth: *adjusts his cravat as he carries his briefcase off the helicopter and stands on the helipad* It was cramped. *glances at Sephiroth with steely grey eyes, then down at Dimitri* You are here to escort me to my guest room?
Dimitri: *keeps his wings out in front of him in order to protect himself from the winds. However, he lifts up his left wing a bit so that he can peak out at Edgeworth. A grin forms on his lips as he looks at the man* Yea, Father and I will show you where to go.
Edgeworth: *nods his head and gives them both a courteous bow* Please lead the way. If this place has a map drawn up, I should like to have it. Many places around the world have not had their maps redrawn yet, so you are forgiven if you do not have one. *watches the attendant take his luggage off the plane, setting it onto the tarmac. He looks at Sephiroth, then stands there, silent*
Sephiroth: *raises a brow and moves over to pick up Edgeworth’s luggage* Dimitri, lead the way back to the elevator.
Dimitri: *tilts his head as he watches Edgeworth bow, having never seen anyone do that before. He then glances up at Sephiroth* Father, what is that? *tries to mimic the bowing motion. He then jumps and nods as Sephiroth asks him to lead the way. So, he quickly repositions his wings behind himself before he grasps at Edgeworth’s left hand, assuming that he is left-handed like his father, so that he could lead the way*
Sephiroth: *is highly amused but only the faintest of a smirk manages to break through his stoic scowly expression* It is a bow. It is a formal polite gesture used to denote submission, salutation, recognition, or acknowledgment.
Edgeworth: *seems very unimpressed at Sephiroth for openly discussing the subject but doesn’t say anything. He glances down at Dimitri in surprise when his left hand is grasped, but politely follows along where led*
Dimitri: A bow… Never seen one before. *giggles then shrugs. He then continues to lead Edgeworth to the elevator. Once there, he uses his right wing to press the call button* There we go.
Edgeworth: I was informed that the people of this island are a special breed before I arrived, but forgive me, I cannot help but wonder. Are those wings indeed real?
Sephiroth: *carries Edgeworth’s bags to the elevator and stands nearby them, not having anything to say, also wanting to stand away so Dimitri can properly talk to his idol*
Dimitri: *tilts his head* Huh? Of course they real. *giggles then spreads open his wings* See. They real. *he flexes the membrane* No one can fake these. *Shakes his head then pouts* Can’t fly though..
Sephiroth: *”Try not to overwhelm him. We want him to like us, Dimitri. Then he can represent us in our claim against the American soldiers killing and bringing harm. He will be here for a while gathering evidence. Introduce him slowly to the idea that we are special and different from regular humans.”* *steps inside the elevator when it pings open* Come on.
Edgeworth: *backs up slightly as the wings flare open and quietly steps into the elevator as well* How unusual… *pauses* Forgive me for being so blunt, but have you been shot at for your difference?
Dimitri: No, not yet. *glances at Sephiroth* Father is Great. They need to be stupid to shoot at us. *grins then falters a bit as his father scolds him. So, he slowly nods* Ok, Father.. *he then pulls his wings up against his body and moves into the elevator. Once inside, he glances up at Edgeworth again and grins* I read all your books.
