Sephiroth: I got off work for the week – it was easy to get here. *shrugs lightly, then pats her back as he is hugged* *”Why don’t you come in, Jen? If you wanted to make amends, now and here would be a good place to do it. Maybe you don’t have to hug, or say much. But she would appreciate knowing you were here.”*
Jenna: *shakes her head* ~It is you that she has always wanted. It is best that I just stay out here. We don’t want to provide more stress than what is needed.~
Desiree: *grins as Sephiroth pats her back. She then looks up at him* Ah, I’m glad you got some time off. You’ve looked like you need a lot as of late. *her grin then faulters as another contraction hits*
Sephiroth: *grunts at Jenna* *”Step into the room and at least acknowledge her. She would appreciate it at the very least.”* *frowns at Desiree, then sighs* It will be over before too long. Are you looking forward to being a mother? *pauses* Do you know what you’re going to call it?
Desiree: *blinks as she looks up at Sephiroth, slightly pale due to the pain that she was just in. Her eyes then widen as she considers over his question* What to call it…. *deeply frowns then looks at Kalysto, now panicking* What are we going to call it?
Jenna: *frowns* ~Did you not hear me? She’s in enough stress. I am not going to stress her out any more.~
Sephiroth: *sharply* *”Jenna – in. Now.”* *frowns* Oh you don’t have to think of a name immediately. You have a year to register it’s birth with the town-holder anyway. Surely you can think of a name in that much time.
Kalysto: We don’t even know if it’s a girl or not. Don’t worry until you’re holding it.
Desiree: *whimpers and is still quite panicked. However, she slowly nods her head then sits back down on the bed* Ok… But I think it’s a boy. I’m pretty certain I was told it was a boy. I think..
Jenna: *frowns at Sephiroth’s tone. Sighing, she shakes her head and steps into the room. However, she hangs back, trying to make her presence as unnoticeable as possible*
Kalysto: You think? What makes you so sure? Did you ask it personally? *smirks lightly* Or did you ask somebody when you were going through one of those picture things? *takes a seat* If you need anything I am here for you.
Desiree: I’ve had sonographs and other tests.. I’m certain the doctors said it was a boy. *sighs then grins at Sephiroth once more* This might take several hours, I’m certain you know that, Father. You don’t need to stay around if you’re going to be busy.
Jenna: *frowns, not really certain what she should do in the room. Finally, she moves over to Kalysto’s side before gently patting the back of his head in order to provide him some reassurance*
For the next few hours, Desiree remains in the room for the most part, trying to ignore the discomfort from the increasingly frequent contractions. From time to time, she’d get up and pace a bit to make the pain lessen a bit. Finally, after about five hours of this, the doctors decide that she is fully dilated and that the time is right. So, they have her brought to a delivery room. They also tell Kalysto that he may be present if he desires*
Kalysto: *flicks his ears back when Desiree is moved out of the room. He nods his head and rises to his feet, glancing at Sephiroth and Jenna, then Arte and Zulmire* Stick around… it won’t be long now. *follows the team into the delivery room, sitting down at Desiree’s side once in the room, gripping her hand as she begins the birthing process*
Zach: *is assisting with the other staff and steps into the delivery room. He pulls his mask up properly in an effort to remain undiscovered. He moves to Desiree’s side and begins checking her vitals, such as her heartrate and pulse, as well as her blood pressure, while the head doctor fusses around Desiree’s legs *
Desiree: *Grins as she spots Kalysto. She then reaches out to grasp onto his hand* Thank you. *At the time, she is so concerned with the pain and the fact that Kalysto is there with her that she doesn’t notice that there’s a silver-haired young man in the room as well. So, Zach is completely ignored by her. Groaning as another contraction hits her, she then nods as the doctor tells her to push*
Zach: *as Desiree pushes, he moves an oxygen mask over her face and nose to keep her body properly oxygenated during a time of such heavy exertion. He continues occaisonally feeding her oxygen, then steps back, keeping an eye on her, ready to step in if needed*
Kalysto: *remains at Desiree’s other side, holding her hand, patting her hand*
Desiree: *screams a bit as she continues to push, mostly due to the pain and effort that she’s putting into the process. As she pushes, she winds up squeezing on Kalysto’s hand, and since she is quite strong due to her Jenova heritage, the squeezing might threaten injuring the elf. After several minutes of this, she finally collapses back as an infant begins to scream as it gets cleaned up*
Kalysto: *flinches heavily as his hand is squeezed rather tightly, seeming a little light headed because of the pain. When he hears the baby screaming, he raises his head, looking almost as tired as Desiree would be* You did it… *lightly nudges Desiree’s shoulder and grins at her* You did it. *moves to his feet when directed by the doctor, glancing down at the baby which is still covered in birthing fluids and blood. He staggers backwards and passes out cold on the floor*
Desiree: Yea.. I did it.. *she closes her eyes, wanting to go to sleep. However, she frowns as a doctor informs her that she needs to stay awake because of the afterbirth. Sighing, she slowly nods her head. She then frowns as she hears the thump of an elf hitting the ground* Kalysto??
Zach: *moves across the room and crouches down to check up on Kalysto, beginning to drag him aside* He’ll be fine. He banged his head though. *moves a hand over his head and frowns as he feels a light wet patch of blood* Over here. Stat. *glances up at Desiree* Stay calm. Your.. um, boyfriend bumped his head. We’ll get it fixed right up. *begins to drag Kalysto from the room*
Jenna: *cocks her eyebrow as she spots Kalysto being dragged into the room. She then shakes her head at the man’s condition. Soon after, she glances up at Sephiroth* We’re grandparents now. I think that you’ll definitely be labeled as old by all your subordinates now, no matter how much I hide your age with magic.
Desiree: *stares at Zach, still in bit of a daze. She then slowly nods and sighs* Ok… *she then grins as the doctor hands over her newly born son. Coddling him in her arms, she pats his head and relaxes. At least until she starts feeling contractions again. At that time, the doctors take her son away to send him to the nursery while she expels the afterbirth. Not long after, she’s brought back to her room where she could rest*
Sephiroth: *sharply* Very funny…
Zach: *wheels Kalysto into the room. Because there was no major injury on his head, he just placed a gauze over the bleeding area and lightly bandaged it. He sets Kalysto in the corner where he can wake up near Desiree* Oh, hey again. *pulls the mask off his face and grins openly at Desiree* Thanks for making me Unca Zach.
Jenna: *shrugs* It is a true statement. Whether there is humor in that statement or not is up to you. *shakes her head*
Desiree: *groggily groans as Zach speaks to her. For a moment, she opens up her eyes to look up at him* Uhh… yea… *yawns then closes her eyes, for she is completely tired out and exhausted*
Jenna: *shakes her head at Zach* You should probably save such small talk til later. She needs her rest. *narrows her eyes as she examines Zach* And don’t you have a job that you’re supposed to be doing?
Zach: *narrows his eyes back at Jenna* Hey, lay off. I’m actually doing my job, yo. *folds his arms and huffs* Did the ridiculous blue scrubs not give it away? What about the face mask? *pulls it back on and walks to Desiree’s bedside, adjusting the monitors before stepping out of the room*
Kalysto: *rouses from his unconcious state, coughing lightly* My god.. what did I fall on? *tries to push out of his seat, thinking better of it quickly*
Jenna: *shakes her head at Zach’s antics. She then tilts her head as she hears Kalysto waking up. Frowning as she considers what to do, she eventually walks over to his side before setting a hand on his shoulder in order to steady and comfort him* I would dare say, the floor. However, I was not present at all.
Kalysto: *glances over at Desiree, then lowers his head* What’s she doing back in here? *glances around* Where’s the kid? *pauses, looking very unhappy all of a sudden* Where is it? Please tell me it didn’t die…
Jenna: I don’t know, they didn’t bring it in here with her. However, Zach mentioned being an uncle, so I’m certain it’s fine. They probably have it in the nursery for the time being. *she then nods at Desiree* She’s in here because she needs her rest. *lightly squeezes Kalysto’s shoulder* Do you want me to escort you to the nursery?
Kalysto: *mumbles* Yeah… *moves to his feet again, forcing himself to stand up. He rubs the side of his head and begins to head for the door, sighing* That’s good… that’s really good. I don’t know where the nursery is though…
Jenna: I have a vague recollection. *she nods at Sephiroth* I’ll be back soon, Seph. Make certain no one distrubs our daughter. *smirks* I know you’re good at protecting things. *she then gently grasps onto Kalysto’s arm and begins to lead him through the complex. Soon enough, she manages to find the nursery* I should hope that your child would stand out.
Kalysto: Why would it stand out? *peers into the nursery window, glancing around. There are seven other infants peacefully sleeping, and as Kalysto glances around the area, he soon spots his offspring solely on the fact that he has long pointy ears* Oh, I see…
Sephiroth: *silently smirks as Jenna steps out of the room*
