Sephiroth remained oblivious to Jenna’s movements. However, when his nose was kissed, he stopped snoring and began to make a soft throaty purr. Because of the position of his neck, he gurgled slightly as he made the noise and then he began to cough.

The coughing caused him to wake up properly and he sat up, clearing his lungs. Bleary eyed, he looked about the room, seeming a little confused as his eyes began to focus. He glanced at Jenna and frowned.

“Oh, what are you doing…?” He yawned. “Good morning..”

Jenna gave Sephiroth a small grin as she reached up to playfully straighten up his bangs. “I’m preparing to leave,” the woman whispered. “And you definitely are not sexy in the morning.”

Sephiroth frowned further as he heard her commentary. “Oh, yes, right… pity. What am I supposed to do in your absence? How long are you going to be gone for and what should I tell work? What should I be telling the children?”

Jenna sighed at Sephiroth, crossing her arms as she glared down at him. “We’ve been through this several times for the last few days. You know the answers to your questions.”

She sadly shook her head at the man as she turned to leave. “Just come after me if I’m not back in a week.”

Sephiroth grunted as he climbed out of bed. He moved to his feet and crossed his arms across his chest, looking very grumpy.

“Remind me then,” He was glaring heavily while he spoke, “Remind me of the answers to my questions once again. Just so it is properly clear in my mind.” He added, mumbling, “Because I don’t know what to do in your absence…”

Jenna sighed and stopped in her tracks. After giving Sephiroth a long glance over her shoulder, she slumped a bit before she moved over to him. As she reached his side, she lifted her right hand, which was currently covered in what appeared to be plain leather gloves, to his cheek so that she could stroke the side of his face.

“You need not worry about ShinRa. They know of my upcoming absence. As for the children, just tell them the truth, I’m on a business trip,” the sorceress softly spoke to Sephiroth. She then reached up to adjust her glasses since their positioning was annoying her.

Sephiroth huffed slightly and stepped aside to let Jenna go about her business. “Very well,” he muttered, “Though even you know it’s not the entire truth. Not all of them are going to accept it as an answer.”

He headed into the bathroom and shut the door. *”I will see you in a few days.”*

“Trust me, Sephiroth,” Jenna assured, “this is a business trip, not pleasure. I will leave it at that. I’m sorry, but I cannot tell you anything further.”

The woman stepped toward the door once more. “Now, as for your last question. As to what you’re going to do without me: live.”

She gave him a brief grin before she stepped out of the room. She didn’t seem to have any issues walking in the high heels, even though Sephiroth probably has never seen her wear such shoes before.

Sephiroth remained in the bathroom for another few moments before stepping out once more, feeling rather refreshed. Still, he did not look entirely happy and lowered his head, sighing as he watched her vacate the room.

    *”Don’t get yourself killed.”*

~Hrmph, I know what I’m doing, Seph. Do not worry about me.~

As soon as the woman stepped out of the household, she vanished, teleporting herself to another part of the world.

Meanwhile, the Halcyon was preparing to shut down its engines and descend. Noemi was quite active at this hour. She expertly commanded her crew as she prepared to permanently dock the ship.

Sephiroth lowered his head when he watched his mate vanish. He knew he would see her again but he still wasn’t very happy. He headed back into the bathroom so he could take a shower. It wasn’t very long before that was disrupted however. He heard the roaring sound of the giant city-sized ship as it descended to land, and he scowled as the ship’s engines caused the foundations of the house to shake and rumble under him, behaving very similar to a low-level earthquake.

Kether released a very soft whine as the house began to shake. The boy didn’t understand what was going on. So, he reached for the bars of his crib and began to shake them even more, for he was quite scared and desired attention.

Noemi grunted in annoyance as her ship jerked a bit as her crew began to make the small adjustments needed to align the ship with the struts that had been built. Still, she didn’t scold any of them. As far as she saw, the landing procedures were going as planned.

Sephiroth snarled and staggered out of the bathroom, snatching up a towel to drape around his middle. *”Everyone, keep calm!”* He sent the message out to everyone in the house via telepathy. *”This will pass in moments. Just stay still until it’s over.”*

Azul was rather quick to spring onto her feet when the house shook. Having never experienced anything like it, she was quite frightened despite her father’s reassurance. She went in to Kether’s room and plucked him out of his crib, holding onto him for support.

Meanwhile, Edgeworth had arrived to work early when the ‘earthquake’ began. He was rather quick to crumple down underneath his work-desk and panic. He curled up into a ball and began to shake with fear. He never had been good with earthquakes, but at least if he hid under the table, maybe less people would spot him being ungraceful.

General Sephiroth remained present on the control-floor of the ship, but also out of the way. He kept watch on the personnel on-board, mostly being there just to keep the crew in a calm state of mind.

Kether latched onto his older sister as she came over to pick him up. He released another raspy whine before he stared up at her with wide eyes. While the boy was growing fairly well, he still had the mentality of a toddler, and thus didn’t try to stand on his own or get away from his sister.

Dimitri paused in the hallway as he felt the tremors. He had been gathering cofee for both himself and Miles when the rumbling started. However, he quickly dashed to the older man’s office as soon as he felt the rumbles. He knew that Edgeworth had issues with earthquakes, and he wanted to make certain the man was alright.

Noemi sighed with relief as the ship finally made contact with the struts that had been built for it. She looked over at the General before she confidently spoke, “Have your men join my engineers in order to secure the connectors. We could use their muscles.”

Azul simply hugged her younger brother and took him into the living room, putting on a brave face in an attempt to keep him calm. “Did you hear father? It’s alright. It’s going to be over soon.” She grinned when the house stopped shaking. “See?”

Within the same moment, she glared as she looked up at the ceiling and loudly yelled out. “What was that, father?!”

Edgeworth did not seem to notice Dimtri at that moment. He merely hugged himself and curled up as tightly as he could manage, and continued to shake with fear. Even after the rumbling had stopped, he remained in the foetal position.

General Sephiroth gave Captain Noemi a short and curt bow before stepping away to direct the people under his direct command. “You heard the captain – we have work to do. Suit up in whatever protective clothing you need and get out there to secure the ship to it’s dock.”

Kether looked around as the house stopped shaking. His eyes remained large, round saucers as he took in the fact that the shaking had stopped. After a moment, he simply nodded his head. However, he also hugged onto his sister even more.

Dimitri took a moment to look around the office before he figured that Edgeworth was hiding under the desk. Groaning, he walked around the furniture so that he could kneel down in front of Miles.

“Hey, it’s ok, Miles. The shaking stopped, sir,” Dimitri tried to comfort the man.

Noemi reached up to her communication device, which was nestled in her ear, before she signaled Sub-Lt. Sol’thenon, “Sub-Lt., the general is sending his men down to assist you in the welds. Use them as you see fit.”

The captain then walked to her friend’s side. “Thank you for lending your men. Their assistance will be quite useful.”

Azul cradled the younger sibling in her arms as she sat on the lounge. “The power didn’t even go out… I want to know what that was though.” She snatched up the remote-control and began channel surfing, looking for cartoons. “Wanna watch TV? Wanna get something to eat? Everyone is probably still scared, hah!”

Iris came into the living room not long after, seeming quite cranky. She bobbed her head and tilted it forward slightly, displaying her horns to any potential foes nearby. “Turn on the news, sister! I can’t believe you’re watching cartoons! Find out what happened…”

Edgeworth slowly sat up, dazed. His mind was still very much elsewhere at that moment, and he stared forwards as he tried to force his mind back to reality. “I hate earthquakes…” He mumbled. “Since when were they on this island…?”

Sub Lt Kalysto was only too happy to suit-up, ready for work outside the ship. He nodded at the Captain and dashed off after the General’s men, excited to have something to do.

General Sephiroth simply nodded at Noemi. “Good work, Captain. Your landing was sublime. I am only too happy to lend my men to assist the permanent docking of the Halcyon. It’s just such a shame that she will never fly again… I do not want to see her rust. Seawater is very corrosive.”

Kether wiggled out of Azul’s grasp as she sat down on the lounge. He wanted to sit down on the couch as well. However, he didn’t move from his blue-skinned sister’s side and continued to grip onto her.

Meanwhile, Alexander cautiously walked into the living room as well. He was quite tense since the rumbling had woken him up. Also, his hair was a spectacular bed-hair ridden mess. “Ugg… Don’t wanna wake up like tha again..”

Dimitri’s eyes softened as he heard the man’s words. Releasing a soft sigh, he reached out with his left hand, offerring to help Miles to his feet.

“This is the Pacific Rim, Miles,” Dimitri tried to reason with the man. “We regularly have earthquakes. Just you can’t feel most of them. However, I don’t think this one was an earthquake. It felt more like the wind was being pushed down and shaking the ground.”

Noemi slowly shook her head at the General’s words. “That would be true if this ship had been built out of inferior metals, General. However, it would take near to a thousand years for the sea to corrode the Halcyon. I am sure it will be fine, especially if we maintain it.”

Azul chuckled at Alex’s commentary. “It shouldn’t happen again if we have our way.” She continued to watch the cartoons on the television and let Kether move and reposition himself.

Iris glared and snatched up the remote, flipping to the news channel shortly afterwards. “Watch it and find out what happened! Don’t be so ignorant!”

Miles Edgeworth initially didn’t want to stand. However, once he had managed the feat, he simply stood there. He was shaky on his feet and it took some effort to stay standing. “It was an earthquake….” He mumbled in a quiet voice. “It’s the only thing it could have been…”

General Sephiroth nodded his head. The Captain sounded confident and he was content. “Very good,” he replied. “We can keep it maintained. There will be no problems.”

Alexander scratched the side of his head, grunting in annoyance, “Yea… Sure.. we probably won’t though.”

Shaking his head, the boy shuffled toward the kitchen so that he could get some orange juice. He wasn’t concerned enough to watch the news like Iris was doing.

Dimitri lowered his hand before he looked up into Mile’s eyes. “I am certain that it wasn’t an Earthquake. I could feel wind being pushed down. And.. It just didn’t feel like the vibrations were coming from under the ground.”

“At least we won’t be vying for living spaces on this landspace, General,” Noemi commented. “Those who wanted to live on the land have already put their names on the list. However, the rest of us have the right to live on the ship for the rest of our lives. I’m certain that is reason enough to keep it maintained.”

“Oh we will if I have anything to do with it.” Iris snarled as she held the remote tightly in her hands.

“Oh it was an earthquake, alright.” Edgeworth’s voice was firm and determined. “It behaved exactly the way an earthquake would. It stopped suddenly, but I do not care. It’s over.” He sat back down in the chair at his desk, feeling dizzy. “I need chamomile tea. Would you please get some?”

General Sephiroth growled. “I wouldn’t live on this backwards dirt-ball of a planet if you paid me… why couldn’t we get stranded somewhere more technologically viable? I do not mind the Halcyon, but I am disappointed.”

“There’s no way for you to follow through wit that, sister,” Alexander mumbled as he came back with his glass of juice. The boy sat in an empty chair before he looked up toward the upper floors where his parent’s bedroom was located.

    “Father’s being noisy.”

Dimitri gave Edgeworth a warm smile. “Sure thing. Just give me a few moments.”

Not wasting any time, the boy slipped out to the break room so he could start warming some water. As the water warmed up, the boy gathered a mug and began preparing the tea for his friend.

“I’m going to hear about this planet and how backwards it is for the rest of my days, aren’t I?” Noemi chuckled at her companion. “And yes, you have the Halcyon and my quarters. That should keep you quite content.”

“However, there are some of both of our crews that prefer the feel of land under their toes. So, they have been given permission to find housing on this island.”

Iris turned her attention upwards and growled. “How is he being noisy? I haven’t heard much of anything going on up there.” She shrugged and continued to channel-surf as she looked for appropriate news material on the issue at hand. “What are we going to do about food?”

General Sephiroth growled to himself in disgust. “Those poor bastards… if they want to live on this backwards planet and take up the domestic life, they can. I will not hold it against them.” In spite of his ire, he managed a grin. “Yes, I know I have the Halcyon, your headquarters, my own dormitory, and well, you… but I still don’t want to live here on a permanent basis. You are most certainly going to hear about that for a while.”

Alexander frowned at Iris. “You can’t hear him up there? He’s being quite loud with his moving about, sister. Louder than normal. Buh…”

The boy cleared his throat, “Father! When are you going to make breakfast?!”

Noemi rolled her eyes at the General. “I should take that dormitory away from you. You never use it. What’s the point?”

Sephiroth frowned as he heard Alexander yelling up to him. He shook his head and continued what he was doing, which was moving furniture back into place and inspecting the house-structure for damages.

*”I’m going to make breakfast when I’m done here.”* He told the young male. *”I need to make sure the house is alright first, understand? Good.”*

“I want my dormitory…” General Sephiroth whined slightly. “I want my own personal space. I’ve used it before… granted, I’ve used it when we were fighting, but I still use it!” He grunted in irritation. “It has my things in there. And my bed. I want it.”
