Wesker nodded his head in acknowledgement of Sephiroth’s statement. Not wasting any more time, the blonde strolled toward the car.

“It is good to make your acquaintance, General Sephiroth,” the man smoothly commented as if he had not encountered the silver-haired general in Romania earlier. “I do hope to find that your reputation does not overshadow your reality.”

Desiree lifted her head to stare at Kalysto as the elf rambled. Frowning with confusion, the girl tilted her head. “I don’t know if I can help you… Depends on how difficult and how much physical activity it requires.”

“Mmm, well,” Sephiroth frowned and glanced back at the other. He stood nearby the car and waited for the man to make his next move. Though, this was not for any reason other than waiting to see which seat he would take. “I wouldn’t believe the tabloids if I were you. They are not accurate. You would be mad to assume that they are.”

“Well, I, ahh…” Kalysto raised his head, then quickly glanced away. “We need to talk. I need help with this… shit, ah…” He cringed and moved towards the woman, gently grasping her hands in this. “We need to sit somewhere quiet without distraction. It’s just talking… no physical activity.”

“Hmm,” Wesker replied in a non-committal manner. “I suppose we shall see.”

The man tilted his head as he noticed that the General was not going to open any doors for him. However, he did not comment. Instead, he just gave the silver-haired man a small half-smile before he took the shotgun seat. As he sat down, he glanced at Jenna.

“And I am to presume this is your lovely wife,” the blonde continued to put up the front that he had never met either of them before.

Desiree blinked at Kalysto, still not certain what to make out of his behavior. Shrugging, she stood up to move to the bedroom. “Come on then, we can talk. There’s nothing for you to be afraid over, my dark lord.”

Sephiroth inclined his head with slight curiosity as he observed the other male take the front seat. He slid into the back-seat and did his seat belt up, relaxing shortly afterwards.

“Yes, this is my wife. Her name is Jenna.” He paused, feeling awkward and irritated about the current situation all of a sudden. He was not one for socialising and everyone knew it – so why did he have to do this?

“And you are?” He said finally.

Wesker calmly strapped himself in as well before he pulled down the sunvisor. After flipping open the vanity mirror hidden in the sunvisor, the man smirked as he watched Sephiroth from behidn the veil of his sunglasses. Since they were now securely in a vehicle where there would be no other eavesdroppers, he decided to stop playing the part of the fool.

“Ah yes, we did not properly introduce ourselves in Europe, did we not,” the man smoothly drawled out. “My name is Albert Wesker.”

Meanwhile, Jenna simply rolled her eyes at the compliment that was thrown her way before she shifted into gear so that she could drive back to the ShinRa offices. While she still drove fast, she wasn’t as rough with the shifting this time around.

“Indeed.” Sephiroth grunted. “Well you already know my name. Let’s skip the formalities and get right down to business, shall we?” He frowned heavily. “What brings you to Mideel-Samoa? I have only been informed of your arrival thus far.”

Wesker allowed himself a confident smirk as Sephiroth cut the small talk. The man was never much for human needs of socialization himself.

“It seemed that since this corporation of yours has been formed on this island, that your science department has been lacking in leadership. Your president decided that my qualifications were more than adequate to clean up the messes left by my predecessors. The president seems to be interested in improving humanity and the men under your command who choose to take such measures,” the blonde never lost his cool tone as he spoke of his position. “I have reviewed the notes of the one named Hojo and he was a very flawed man. I would have to state that any successes that man had were by pure fluke.”

Sephiroth sat through the man’s explanation with an un-humoured expression on his face. He was very silent at least until it was over. “I see…” Was all he could think of to say initially. “So you are going to become the new Science-Head? If so, what does that mean for the current ShinRa projects?”

“You are quite the curious kitten, aren’t you, Sephiroth?” Wesker smirked back at Sephiroth via the mirror. “All these questions would be answered in today’s meeting. However, I shall humor you.

“I intend to clean up the projects to start with. I do not stand for incompetence working under me. Any projects that are not producing results will be terminated. I shall also bring in my own research to see if I can improve the SOLDIER formula as requested. To my understanding, an element of that formula is no longer available, no?”

Sephiroth made a noise somewhere between annoyed and impressed. He vaguely wondered who had the intelligence to hire such a person as an ally for their operations, but he was far too proud to ever admit to such a thing. Instead he made a curt respectful nod and relaxed back in his seat, silent for the remainder of the journey back to the ShinRa HQ on the island.

Wesker hummed in approval as he noticed that Sephiroth seemed to be appeased by his answers. As Jenna began her turn into the ShinRa parking lot, the man decided to lower his sunglasses to reveal his amber and red slitted eyes. He then locked gazes with Sephiroth via the mirror.

“I trust that we will not have any issues with our working relationship, now will we, Sephiroth?” the man pushed the rims of his glasses back up as he finished speaking.

Sephiroth glanced back at the other man, his pupils narrowing to slits as he noticed the other man’s eyes. He twisted the edge of his mouth into a disapproving expression, but didn’t make any further commentary. He simply got out of the back-seat and headed back into the building so he could return to his desk.

Jenna had left Wesker to his own devices now that the blonde was at the ShinRa offices, for she was only requested to drive him in. So, not long after Sephiroth entered his office, Jenna returned to her desk.

After about ten minutes, Jenna entered Sephiroth’s office to drop off several papers that required his attention.

Elsewhere, Desiree sat on her bed and waited for Kalysto to decide that he wanted to talk about whatever he had been babbling about. She honestly had no idea what was bothering the elf.

Sephiroth had involved himself back in the paperwork when Jenna came into the office. He glanced up at the papers she had brought in and he waved a hand, pointing to his inbox pile. “I have too much to organise this morning,” He stated plainly. “Put it here and I will be done with it by this afternoon. I need to take an early day today. I’m tired of being stuck behind this desk.”

Kalysto made some unhappy sounds and sighed at Desiree. He sat next to her on the bed and gently took her hand in his, though he kept quiet as he debated how best to approach the difficult subject ahead.

“Desiree…” He spoke finally, “Um, I need to ask you…” He pinned his ears back as far as they would go. “H…h-how much do you remember about your… um… car accident… because, ah…” He cringed and lowered his head, tensing as if bracing for impact. “I think it’s my fault.”

Without saying a word to the general, Jenna gently set the papers down as requested. However, she did not leave the room. Keeping her footsteps silent with ease, the sorceress slipped around Sephiroth to stand behind him.

Jenna leaned down a bit to take in a deep breath of her husband’s scent before she reached in to massage the back of his scalp with her right hand as her left worked on his neck. After a few brief moments of just massaging her mate, she whispered into his ear, “You never were made for desks. We both know that.”

Desiree blinked in confusion at what Kalysto was saying to her. She simply did not understand where he was coming from at all.

“Kalysto, you weren’t even in the vehicle with me. I think you’re being paranoid. I just remember a sharp pain and then blackness though.”

Sephiroth initially made a small threatening sound when he watched Jenna move towards him. He still wasn’t entirely happy with the events over the past few days, but didn’t entirely know how to disarm the situation. It turned out that he didn’t have to – his hostility melted away from him entirely as the massage began. After another few moments had passed, the General was making soft content sounds, and a gentle purr began to emanate from his chest cavity.

“Mmm…” He twitched in her touch slightly as a pleasurable shiver ran down his spine. “You are right. I wasn’t made for this situation at all – being in an office… sitting around. I am supposed to be on the front-line but there is currently little conflict that requires my input at the present time… mmmm…” He tilted his head off to one side to give Jenna easier access to the area. “You really do know what you’re doing back there…”

“No no, I wasn’t.” Kalysto raised his head again and focussed his attention utterly on her. He raised his ears again and sighed. “I didn’t realise you were driving at the time, it is my fault.” He placed his hands on his knees and gripped at the fabric of his pants. “Your winged-brother was able to conclude that it was indeed my fault. I… I’m sorry…”

Jenna released a faint chuckle at her husband’s compliment. She did enjoy how he would melt in her hands when she gave the right stimulus.

“Of course I know what I’m doing,” the sorceress purred into Sephiroth’s left ear. “I spent years studying and perfecting the art of torture and killing. During that time, I gained a very intimate knowledge of human anatomy and how it ticks. Creating great pleasure under the right circumstances is more torturous than causing great pain, after all.”

Chuckling, she patted the top of Sephiroth’s hair, taking the moment to mess up his bangs before she slipped her hand down so that she could pull at his coat and reveal his shoulders.

“You seemed deeply troubled when you left the car, Seph.”

Desiree continued to stare at Kalysto. What he was telling her just simply meant no sense at all. Something had to have been missing in his story. That or perhaps her husband was mistaken.

“Kalysto,” Desiree kept her voice soft in an attempt to calm down the elf. “What makes you think that you caused it. How could you have possibly done so?”

Sephiroth relaxed further under Jenna’s touch. He wriggled slightly when his shoulders were exposed, his attention snapping towards the door to check to see if it was closed. When he discovered that it was closed, he relaxed once again. He knew that even though they were alone in the office, it would not do to inadvertently give somebody a photo opportunity.

“Yes, I am troubled. I am not happy with his presence.” He admitted. “I’m not sure what to make of it.”

“Well, I…” Kalysto clutched at his hands now, staring at them while he did so. “When you left, I… I was still a woman, right? I wanted to hurry up the transformation process, and I… I killed myself. I flew over 30 yards into the air and landed on hard rocks. I didn’t know you were driving at the time, and…”

“I cannot state that I am surprised to hear that you are not happy with him,” Jenna commented as she found a knot in his right shoulder to work on. “I’d imagine that you wouldn’t truly be happy with any scientist. However… I am familiar enough with the man to attempt to answer some questions, if you desire them.”

“You killed yourself? I cannot say that I approve of you doing that sort of thing for frivolous reasons, Kalysto. We don’t want the populus to know that we are immortal,” Desiree softly spoke. “However, I do not think you did anything that would have caused an accident… Not unless you landed on the SUV.”

Sephiroth flinched as Jenna worked the knot in his shoulder. He didn’t like what she was doing currently, but it wasn’t bad enough right now to push her away.

“No. I don’t like the fact that he’s here.” He said finally. “I don’t have any questions. But I don’t want him here.”

“I did kill myself…” Kalysto muttered. “And your brother made such a big deal out of it being my fault… you think it’s not…?” He was most definitely calmed now.

Jenna sighed as she heard her mate’s complaint. So, she stopped massaging his shoulder so that she could grip onto the back of his chair and forcefully swivel him around to face her. Once she managed that, she slipped into his lap.

“You wouldn’t be happy with any scientist, Seph. What makes this one bother you so?” the sorceress looked into his eyes as she questioned his motives.

“Well… I just don’t see how it could have worked. Even if it did…. I forgive you, Kalysto. Though next time, just wait out that sort of thing. My mother went psychotic because of dying too often. I don’t want you to have any major trauma when reviving,” Desiree informed her husband.

Sephiroth didn’t move, nor seem terribly surprised by the action of Jenna turning his chair. When she sat in his lap, he merely looked her in the eyes and sighed with tiredness. He knew that she was pushing for an explanation now and although he didn’t want to explain his thoughts and position on the matter, he had a feeling that he had little choice.

“Did you see his eyes?” Sephiroth grunted. “There’s something odd about him. He’s not normal. I don’t know what could happen in the future, but he’s not to be trusted.”

Kalysto kept his head lowered. “You don’t know how much it means to me to hear you say that…” His facial expression suddenly crumpled and he broke down in tears.

“Oh, I see,” Jenna stated before she lifted her right hand to wave it in a dismissive manner. “Yes, I’ve seen his eyes before. I’ve done a few jobs for him in the past that involved going into outbreak zones and getting samples for him, so I know full well that the man is infected.

“As I recall, it was something to do with experimental virus, Arklay, Umbrella, and infecting himself then faking his death. I don’t know all the details. He never interested me too much.”

Jenna leaned in to plant a kiss on her mate’s lips. “As far as I know, the man has lost all of his life’s work. So, I’d imagine that we can trust him not to follow the same path. However, I shall not tell you not to keep an eye on him.”

Desiree’s eyes softened as Kalysto began to cry. Shaking her head, she pulled him in to a hug. “Hey, stop that. You didn’t mean to cause me any harm, I know that. Stop thinking about it, ok?”

Sephiroth didn’t seem any more content through the explanation. He merely nodded his head in acceptance of Jenna’s words, trying his best to relax in the chair.

“Hrmph.” He grunted, “Yes, I will be keeping an eye on him. You can be sure of that…”

“I know, I know…” Kalysto said in between sobs. He was shaking slightly as he sank into her embrace. “B-but it was still stupid…”

“That would be the smart thing to do, my love,” Jenna whispered to Sephiroth. “Now, you have a meeting to attend in about twenty minutes. Want a quickie, as the humans put it?” A devilish grin formed on Jenna’s lips as she made the offer.

“Kalysto, that’s what you do, stupid,” Desiree happily teased her mate as she patted the top of his head. “If every you did anything smart, the world would come to an end.”
