Sephiroth made a vague discontent sound. He had been hoping that Jenna would have gone back on her own so he could investigate the other life-energy signal, but instead he simply coiled his arms around Jenna and teleported them through a few jumps, ending up back on the island. Once there, he used Dimitri’s life-energy as a reference point and teleported the pair of them one final time within two feet of his location. Then he promptly tripped over the chair beside the young adult.

Kalysto put his head down near Desiree’s hand and just quietly sobbed to himself.

Jenna stepped away from Sephiroth once he was done teleporting her to the hospital room. Without saying a word, she turned her back on her mate so that she could look over the scene. Upon spotting Kalysto, she sighed and walked over to him. As soon as she was next to the elf, she reached down to gently pat his shoulder.

“She’ll be fine, youth,” Jenna assured as she looked down at her daughter. For the time being, she wasn’t paying attention to Sephiroth, so the man could easily escape if he desired.

Kalysto didn’t raise his head. He just continued to make miserable sounds, and he kept rather still. “I didn’t do this… I didn’t do this… I didn’t mean to do this, if I did…”

Sephiroth simply readjusted himself and stood there for a brief moment before teleporting away. He made the teleport-jumps back to the balcony in Romania and immediately moved after the life-energy signal he had sensed before.

Jenna moved her right hand so that she could gently stroke it through Kalysto’s hair in a motherly fashion. She wanted the elf to settle down, so she did her best to provide him comfort.

“Yes, I can figure as much that you didn’t mean it. You’d make a horrible murderer, boy,” Jenna simply stated. “You have too much emotion for the deed.”

The life force that Sephiroth had felt was now out of the mansion and loading up a black audi just outside of the mansion.

Kalysto just shook his head, continuing his miserable crying. Whether it was because of the female-hormones residual in his body from being pregnant, or just Kalysto being Kalysto, it would have been impossible to tell. “I’m sorry…”

At that moment, there was a gentle tap on the hospital room door despite the fact that it was open. Edgeworth stood on the other side in the hallway, choosing to remain outside. He said nothing, but glanced at Dimitri, hoping to get his attention.

Sephiroth was rather quick to move. He made himself intangible and invisible, and then stood nearby, observing the figure loading up the vehicle. He was very curious to know what was going on.

Dimitri had been busy staring down at his cell phone that no longer worked when Edgeworth knocked on the doorway. However, the boy was attracted by the noise and quickly lifted his head to stare up at him. Quickly nodding, he walked out of the room toward Edgeworth.

“Sorry about not answering your call, Miles. That elf destroyed my phone,” Dimitri grumbled out.

Meanwhile, Jenna continued to pat Kalysto’s head, trying to calm him down. After a few moments of just patting the elf’s head, she focused her eyes down at him, humming. “Weren’t you pregnant?”

The male that Sephiroth had tracked down, who stood at well over six feet tall, was dressed in a black itallian suit. His blonde hair had been meticulously slicked back. Also, the man wore a pair of designer sunglasses, even though it was dark.

When Sephiroth neared, the man tilted his head slightly, but otherwise did not change his demeanor. He simply finished packing away his silver brief case, which was thick enough to safely carry hazardous materials before he strode to the driver’s door.

“Bad news. However, I have some interesting information for you.” Edgeworth dropped his voice to a low murmur once Dimitri was out in the corridor with him. “Come with me.” He walked down the hallway and headed into the patient-socialisation room nearby. There was nobody else in there, so once Dimitri was inside, he gently shut the door and laid out the file he had brought with him.

“I still need to get a photocopy of the actual morgue-reports,” Edgeworth began to speak, “But your proposed accusation doesn’t match the evidence.” He pulled out the first piece of paper and dropped it on-top of the file. “The call made to the emergency services regarding your sister’s accident occurred at 9:17pm. I checked in with the morgue to get a list of recorded deaths and the time in which they occurred. Only one came up, a corpse was brought in this evening with an Estimated TIme of Death at approximately 9pm – 9:15pm. This would satisfy both me and a court as definitive evidence as the time window is quite narrow enough, except for one very major detail – the victim was a female.” His expression shifted to a stern disconcerted frown.

Sephiroth remained nearby the vehicle, and when the door was opened he teleported himself to the back-seat. He sat down and folded his arms, very curious to see where this would go.

Dimitri silently followed after Edgeworth as he was lead away to the other room. After hearing what the man had to say, he slowly nodded his head.

“Yea… there’s… Don’t worry about it, Miles. I’ll bring it up to my family. There’s nothing here that any judge would be able to figure out, I doubt even you would understand this sort of stuff, even after all you’ve seen of my family,” Dimitri softly stated. “Thank you for looking that up.”

The blond paused for a moment as he was entering his vehicle. However, the man only released a soft humming noise before he strapped himself into his vehicle and took off. While Sephiroth couldn’t see it due to the sunglasses the man wore, the blonde was frequently looking through his rear view mirror toward the back seat and drumming his fingers against the steering wheel as he drove off at less than legal speeds.

Edgeworth raised a brow at Dimitri’s commentary, but picked up the file anyway and began to tuck the papers back into it. “I will get you the photocopies of the morgue reports, if you wish. Perhaps the Time of Death can be broader.” He handed the file over. “If there is anything else you can think of, bring it up. Especially if you intend to bring forth a prosecution of some description.”

Sephiroth leaned forward in the seat, vaguely smirking to himself as he observed the male’s behaviour. He almost wanted to freak him out a little, but it may not have been entirely necessary just yet.

“Thank you, Miles,” Dimitri bobbed his head in appreciation. “However, as I said, I think I’lll just keep this within my family. You’ll be hard pressed to find any material in which you can use to get a logical case from with your understanding of how certain things work.”

The boy gently took up the files as he stepped away to return to his sister’s bedside.

The blonde continued to eye the back seat from the cover of his reflective sunglasses. Suddenly, the man violently swerved the car to pull it to the side of the road, intending to jar his uninvited passenger.

“You must be the Great Sephiroth that I have heard so much about,” the blonde calmly drawled out. Even though the man could not see the silver-haired general yet, he glared at the back seat. “I’ve heard quite a bit about you.”

Miles Edgeworth watched Dimitri’s body language as he moved around. He slowly nodded his head again and left the boy to his own. “Call me when you are ready to come home.” He said yet again, and then slipped away.

Meanwhile, Kalysto remained at Desiree’s side, feeling particularly miserable and hopeless. He kept an eye on her and remained close, hoping for some movement or anything to indicate that she would wake up soon.

Sephiroth gripped onto one of the side-handles when the car swerved. When identified by the front passenger, he allowed his invisible illusion to melt away and snarled at the other, teeth gritted.

“Oh, so she talks about me too, hmm? What’s going on?”

“She? I presume you mean the lovely woman named Jenna, correct?” the man stated more than questioned. As he glared back at the rear seat toward Sephiroth, his voice remained perfectly even and calm. “Yes, she has spoken of you. However, it does not take much to find information about a man so bold to break into another’s car and assume that he has the right to question him. Isn’t that right?”

Moving at a speed that most humans would not even register, the man pulled out a desert eagle from his inner coat pocket and twisted around to level the gun at Sephiroth’s face. “I must say, I’m impressed. Most would not be so brazen.”

Sephiroth made a harsh snarl when the gun was aimed at him. He remained still and calm however, simply narrowing his brows to express the fact that he wasn’t impressed.

“Most would not be so brazen to deal with my wife, also.” He grunted. “I want you to explain what your business was with her. Don’t think I didn’t notice the wine. The suitcase. The fact that you were in close proximity to her. Explain what’s going on. That’s all I ask for.”

The man passively stared at Sephiroth for several moments, not moving a muscle as he kept his gun leveled at the center of the silver-haired man’s eyes. Suddenly, his lips vaguely turned up into a smirk before he released a soft chuckle and raised the gun.

“Oh? So that is what is bothering you, is it?” the blonde released a hint of a chuckle. “Do not worry yourself with such trivialities. We were only discussing business. Your scent remains the only scent on her, just as her scent is heavy on you.

“We were simply coming to the proper… agreements… as she was sent by your President ShinRa to enlist my employment.”

Sephiroth made a soft growling noise as the gun was pointed at his head. He remained still and firm in the stand-off, only relaxing once the gun was gone.

“That is one of the things that occaisonally bothers me. But I am always proven wrong.” He made a sharp and short grunt. “However, I am not informed… I am trying to acquire knowledge. I want to know what Jenna is up to. She never tells me. Thus, I have to chase up her business and find out for myself.”

He seemed a little taken aback when the other male mentioned employment with President ShinRa.

    “I see… why wasn’t I informed? I am the President’s second-in-charge.”

The blonde’s left eyebrow lifted up over his glasses for a moment, which became the only sign of his curiousity before he scoffed and shrugged.

“You are a curious man, Sephiroth,” the man commented. “However, it is my understanding that you are in charge of the military for your group. I hardly think head researcher for scientific endeavors falls under your command. Either way, what your president chooses to or not to tell you is of little concern to me.”

Sephiroth made a sharp sound, for he knew he didn’t have a leg to stand on in the argument now. He lowered his head and scowled.
“Yes, yes, very well,” He snorted, “But that doesn’t explain why Jenna is here on business. She is hardly the head of anything. She signed on with the ShinRa as my desk secretary – that was it. So why is she here dealing with you? I want to know what she traded.”

“You really are an interesting specimen, Mister Sephiroth,” the blonde once again darkly chuckled at his unwanted passenger. “I am certain that she was sent because she knew how to find and contact me. As for what information was traded, that is hardly any of your concern.

“Now, are you going to leave my vehicle willingly, or am I going to have to force you? I would hate to miss my flight.”

Sephiroth made a simple short snarling noise and teleported away. He made the teleport jumps back to the door of his house in Mideel and then he stepped inside, feeling very cross indeed.

Jenna had already returned home by the time that Sephiroth returned to the house since she had figured that it was best to leave Kalysto with his wife for the time being. She had noticed that Sephiroth had stepped away, but she had not felt the need to track him down. Instead, while the general had been absent, she had spoken to Dimitri before escorting him home.

When Sephiroth entered the house, he would have found Jenna on the couch, silently watching the front door. Upon his arrival, the woman tilted her head.

    “Had a fun trip?”

Sephiroth made a discontent sound at Jenna and headed for the bedroom without saying anything at all. He shut the door behind him and stepped into the shower so he could take a nice long soak in the tub.

Jenna narrowed her eyes as Sephiroth walked right past her. After releasing a disgruntled snort, she stood up to follow after him. Since she didn’t care that the door was closed, she slipped into the bathroom as well.

“Dimitri confirmed that the elf was the cause of Desiree’s accident. I figured that you should know,” Jenna simply stated without a care to her mate’s mood.

Sephiroth was already standing over the tub and adjusting water temperature when Jenna came into the room. He glanced back at her and grunted with acknowledgement before turning back to his bath-tub. He added some bath-salt and soap and began to strip down.

“Why don’t you just communicate a little better with me?” Once completely naked, he sat down in the tub and allowed it to continue filling up. “Is it really all that difficult?”

Jenna blinked at Sephiroth’s statement. Frowning, she tilted her head before she moved in to lean against the spa tub.

“I need to communicate? Pardon, but was that not what I was just doing?” Jenna narrowed her eyes. “Dimitri stated that the time of death for the elf and the accident’s time coincided. Hence, the elf caused it with a backlash in the bond due to his death. Though I doubt he understood what it would do.”

Sephiroth looked up at Jenna with a very unhumored expression. His eyes narrowed at her and he grunted, shrugging.

“I wasn’t referring to the elf.” He spoke in a quiet voice. “When I found you, you were on a balcony in another country. I went there to find you and inform you about Desiree. I also discovered that you were indeed up to something… I went back there and engaged your contact. He wouldn’t explain what you had traded to him, but he mentioned that he is coming to work for the ShinRa now.”

“Please,” He sat up in the tub, still very cross looking, “Please inform me why you felt that it wasn’t necessary for me to know something like that. I understand my position in the company, but my own wife keeping me in the dark is a rather unfair position, don’t you think?”

He scowled, settling back, closing his eyes as he tried to relax. “When have I ever done that to you. When.” He inhaled and made a deep frustrated sigh. “How am I supposed to trust you if you want to behave like that?”
