Sephiroth: Tch.. *picks up the folder and moves away to go through it, scowling* What will my pay be like? A salary? A wage? Commission? Just how much influence will I have? And who do I have to report to? All of these are very important questions.
Rufus: *Grins as Sephiroth begins to seriously consider his proposal* The only person higher than yourself will be myself. However, for the most part, you will only report to yourself. As for your wages, what would you like?
Sephiroth: Well, anything less than 50,000gil a week would be an insult… *scowls as he flips through the folder, vaguely impressed with the information inside* How often do I have to report this rubbish? Where would my office be? *pauses, grunting* And do I have to place my family here and move in immediately?
Rufus: I can have a house ready for your family immediately. I know that you have no where else to go at the moment. As for the immediate, our offices are right here in this building. Not much of anything, but it works. However, seeing as I am giving you full charge over your department, you may report in as often or seldom as you like. Aside from the occasional board meeting, which will be once a month. If you find that the accommodations here are not to your liking, then you may decide to relocate your department to another town. You will be in charge, Sephiroth. However, there is only one thing that I would request of you.
Sephiroth: Oh? *glances up at him over the folder, then back down at it* And what might that be? *flips through the rest of it before tossing it back onto the table* Jenna wishes for me to earn an income and find new accomadation. I see no reason not to accept on those grounds. And as long as I can tell you to go to hell any time I feel like it, I would not be restricted or your slave.
Rufus: Slavery was never my fortee or passoin, Sephiroth. *shakes his head then straightens up* As I mentioned, I will have our media connections remove the tarnish on your reputation that occurred during meteors downfall. However, there is one action that you can do that will assist. The public always has a soft spot to a family man, and such an immage includes having that man joined to his chosen woman in marriage.
Sephiroth: You’d better not enslave me, because f—*stops, staring dead at him for a moment before scowling* What? You want me to get married? Why?
Rufus: As I said, the public likes to see their idea of a “perfect” family. That includes marriage, Sephiroth. They find that a man who is not married and has a woman around with kids is prone to being uncommitted to his duty. Also, it will help them not think of you as a murderer. Sociopaths do not get married in their minds.
Sephiroth: *shakes his head fiercely* If you want the public to have a picture of a normal family go take pictures of somebody else. My offspring are anything but normal I am afraid. My eldest male has a full length pair of dragon’s wings. My youngest has horns. One of them is a clone of me, literally. Another is a baby dragon.
Rufus: We can leave them out of the media, Sephiroth. I’m certain that you would prefer that anyway. However, I still must insist that a marriage between you and the woman who you’re involved with will help. Do you not want the world to know that she is exclusively yours?
Sephiroth: I would rather the world keep out of my private life. I would rather they know nothing to be brutally honest with you. *scowls* Besides. Jenna’s culture doesn’t believe in marriage. It doesn’t even believe in monogamy. It probably took her a lot of effort just to adhere to that.
Rufus: *shakes his head* Please, Sephiroth, do consider the idea. It will help things. However, the job offer will remain, whether you marry her or not.
Sephiroth: *mutters* This isn’t going to go over very well with her… *sighs miserably* I will take the job in the immediate. However, the marriage… will take some time. *scowls, seeming awkward as he looks away* That is all.
Rufus: *grins as Sephiroth accepts the job. He then nods to Reno* Show Sephiroth to the house that we have arranged for him. *he then looks at Sephiroth* If you do not like it, you don’t have to take it. However, it will be the best that we can provide for you as of the immediate.
Reno: *is staring at Sephiroth, quite surprised at the type of emotion he’s seeing on Sephy’s face. However, he straightens up as Rufus calls attention onto himself and nods* Right, boss. *he flicks his finger in acknowledgment then heads out the “office”* Come on, Sephiroth.
Sephiroth: *sighs in frustration* Very well. *seems subdued as he follows Reno out of the office, but doesn’t say anything. After a few moments he stiffens his posture, resuming his signature scowl once more* *”Jenna… they have a house for us. I am going to inspect it now. I thought you might also like to know that I accepted the job offer.”*
Jenna: ~Guess that means we can’t have entire days filled with sex-capades, as the humans would call them, anymore.~
Reno: *looks back at Sephiroth* Right.. So, your ead those papers the boss gave you. You probably already know this, but there isn’t really much of an amry or SOLDIER anymore. Heh, even we TURKs are just down to four members. Mostly, all we’ve had are a few peacekeeping jobs to keep idiots from wrecking other idiots. Nothing too significant. *he finally stops in front of a significantly large house that could be termed a mansion by some* Here we go. *he digs through his pockets then tosses a key to Sephiroth* Your house. Go open the door, yo.
Sephiroth: Reclaimed housing stock from people abandoning this town when the Lifestream crack appeared in the ground after the earthquake? *takes the keys from him* I left the papers on the blonde idiot’s desk. *pauses, thinking* If I am your boss, then go get them for me. *unlocks the front door and moves inside to look around*
Reno: Yea, something like that. The houses around here are dirt cheap. *scratches the back of his head. At least until Sephiroth asks him to get his papers, for then, he visibly pouts* Yo! I’m supposed to be off duty now! Heh, bastard. *shakes his head then moves back to the main offices anyway*
Sephiroth: *watches Reno walk away, a very thin expression of amusement on his face. He continues to wander through the house, wanting to see first and foremost how many bedrooms and bathrooms it has. He wanders upstairs to inspect the area up there. He grunts as he inspects the leftover furniture, seeming somewhat content that he doesn’t have to start from scratch* *”What are you doing?”*
Jenna: ~Hm? At this moment? Changing a diaper. And I think Cloud is glaring at me while I am doing this.~ *gives Cloud a cruel smirk* ~Why do you ask?~
Sephiroth: *”Ah..”* *smirks* *”If it’s full of baby excrement, you should give it to him to take care of.”* *sends her telepathic imagery of the house he has been exploring* *”Do you have any opinions?”*
Jenna: ~It is large.. and a house. I think it will easily suit the size of our family.~ *throws the dirty diaper at Cloud’s face* ~Am I meant to have much more of an opinion there?~
Sephiroth: *”I am asking because I want to know if you approve. It is a furnished standard human house. There is nothing special about it, but it can suit our needs to a degree. I want to know your opinion because if you have objections, you need to be able to voice them and be heard and understood.”*
Jenna: ~I know little of the houses that humans build and furnish. As far as I know, some are larger and some are smaller.. No matter. It looks to be adequate. I do not see a reason to object. Do you?~
Sephiroth: *”To the house, no….”* *checks out the largest bedroom and pokes at the bed, grunting at it. He sits down on it to inspect it properly, then shrugs, moving out of the room to leave the house again* *”It will suit our needs. The only question is, how do we move the children there? Another portal of your making?”*
