Sephiroth: *”I understand your plight, and I am going as fast as I can. I am not, however, under any circumstances, going to ruin what I am doing in my attempt to rush. It could have more consequences than you might think.”* *finally finishes making the formula and shakes up the bottle, dripping some of the liquid onto a finger before inspecting it’s temperature and consistency* Hrmph. *turns off the stove and walks out of the kitchen again, heading out of the house shortly after so he can return to Jenna* Here. *hands her the bottle*
Kalysto: *”I know what she’s doing, I’m not a dumbass. I just thought it was an interesting song.”*
Jenna: *looks up as Sephiroth finally returns with the formula. She then gives him a relieved grin before taking the bottle from him* Thank you. *with that, she offers the bottle to Iris* Here, will you eat this, girl?
Desiree: ~What was so interesting about it? It was just a dumb old song in some strange random language that she picked up somewhere..~
Sephiroth: It wasn’t too much of a hassle. *moves to sit down on the floor near the fireplace, warming his hands*
Kalysto: *”Elvish isn’t dumb, thank you very much. It is a language with it’s roots in history that is perhaps tens of thousands of years old.”* *scowls* *”You really are naive if you think that it’s stupid, or pointless.”*
Desiree: *blinks* ~She was singing in your language? … Are you certain? She didn’t seem to know a thing about your people when you arrived..~ *deeply frowns in confusion* ~Seriously?~
Jenna: *grins at Seph then moves to sit down next to him before snuggling against his side* I thought you said that the cold doesn’t bother you, hm?
Kalysto: *”It sounded like some root Elvish language. Not Thalassian or Darnassian, but a similar dialect to them. Some of our words are the same, and some are very different. But all Elvish languages have a common root.”*
Iris: *hungrily feeds from the bottle, quiet as she suckles on it now*
Sephiroth: Who said the cold bothered me? I’m not here because of that. I like the warmth.
Jenna: *Chuckles at him* Very well. I’ll let you get away with that reasoning this time around. *she yawns and leans back toward Sephy as she continues to feed her daughter*
Desiree: ~But… How does that work?~ *gives Kalysto a pained and confused expression, as if the very concept of what he’s talking about is hurting her* ~Mother’s never been to your planet. I’m pretty certain of it. And whatever elves she’s met aren’t the same as the ones that you’re associated with. How can the languages be the same? How?~
Kalysto: *”How am I speaking in common and able to understand you? Don’t ask me the answer to it, because even I don’t know. But if you didn’t know Common or Thalassian, we would have a very hard time communicating with each other.”* *smirks* *”I should also mention that I know Orcish, and Troll. But I doubted you would even know what those were.”*
Sephiroth: *takes his gloves off and continues to toast his hands, not seeming to care that one of them is fake and doesn’t even need warming*
Desiree: *blinks at Kalysto. She then shakes her head and mutters* I’m speaking English… *She then shrugs and moves over to the wall. Soon enough, she sits down and leans her back against the wall* ~It still hurts my brain to try to figure out how the hell that stuff all works..~
Jenna: *keeps most of her attention on Iris. Once the bottle is all gone, she props the girl over her shoulder and burps her*
Iris: *makes a loud hiccup sound and burps, seeming quite relaxed afterwards. She snuggles against Jenna’s shoulder and begins to play with her hair, curious*
Sephiroth: *scowls, grunting* She’s not crying any more, but she will again once that horrible stuff is digested. *glares at the fire as he thinks of changing diapers* I doubt Aeris has any baby supplies lying around either, considering she didn’t even have the milk food substitute.
Kalysto: *yawns* Who cares how it works. Why does it matter?
Desiree: I guess you’re right there. *she glances at the space next to her then at Kalysto. However, she doesn’t actually say anything concerning her thoughts* Perhaps one day, you’ll teach me your native language?
Jenna: *gently rubs the girl’s back in order to keep her calm. She doesn’t really notice that the girl is playing with her hair, mostly because of the natural chaos that her hair tends to be in. However, she does nod at Seph’s words* Yea.. I forgot to grab some when I was gathering the formula. Hrmph.
Kalysto: *blinks at her* You want to learn how to speak Thalassian? I could teach you, but it would take you years. It took me the best part of three years to learn enough Orcish to get beyond simple sentences. Then again, I was also being tutored in it, and I was a kid so the information was absorbed faster…
Sephiroth: *mutters unhappily* And considering it is a relatively young infant with a small sensitive bladder… there are going to be problems within the next two hours or so. *rises to his feet, grunting* I almost feel obliged to do something about it pre-emptively.
Jenna: *releases a slight disappointed sigh as Seph gets to his feet, mostly because she had made herself comfortable. However, she simply nods* Very well. I think that is fully understandable.. For the record, the store clerk is probably in a clinc or something having some very deep scratches taken care of.
Desiree: *shrugs* I don’t mind. Of course, if you wouldn’t want me around for that long though… It’s all up to you on that bit.
Sephiroth: I wonder whose fault that is. *moves for the door, shrugging* He could be dead for all I care. I won’t even be interacting with him. Being psychic has it’s uses beyond the obvious things. *heads outside and into the snow*
Kalysto: The most important part about it is sharp clear precise pronounciation. I can say ‘felo’melorn’ and ‘malanore’ very clearly and one will understand what I am saying. However, if I mumble or speak with a slack tongue, I could very well be saying the same thing twice.
Jenna: Heh, yes, I know you’ve let go of your moral objections to several things a long time ago. *softy chuckles* ~I remember you reprimanding me the first time you saw me steal something.~
Desiree: *frowns at him* I don’t speak with a slack tongue or any of that stuff in general. *glances at her father as he leaves* Father was always very formal. He was a high-ranking general after all. So, being lazy was not really an option for us.
Sephiroth: *”That must have been some time ago. These days, I do not care. I still do not condone it, but today I am going to do it out of necessity and not want.”* *stops outside of the General Store, glancing inside. Tifa is still tending to the man behind the counter, so he is able to teleport a box of diapers from the shelves to the large open room in Cloud’s house. The box makes a soft thud as it hits the floor in the middle of the room*
Kalysto: Good, because that’s the biggest problem some have with speaking the language. If you mutter, stumble or slur, you will be misunderstood often.
Jenna: ~Yes, a very long time ago.~ *she chuckles to herself* ~Yes, it’s back when you were still young, instead of just falsely looking young.~
Desiree: Hrmph… Well, when was the last time you’ve heard me slur my words, huh? When I don’t have some sort of concussion or the like, that is. *she narrows her eyes then snorts and shakes her head*
Sephiroth: *”Of course you would make a jab like that. For shame.”* *shakes his head and begins to wander away from the town, heading for the mountains in the distance*
Kalysto: Hey don’t get so offended, it was more of a generalization than a warning you know. Relax. *sighs at her, then grins* Think of it as a compliment? Um, I didn’t call you anything bad.
Jenna: ~Heh, well, I can also say that you have aged beautifully. Or do humans prefer for the use of the word handsomely?~ *shrugs to herself, not overly concerned* ~Either way, I do not see your age as a problem at all. You have only gotten better in my opinion.~
Desiree: *gives Kalysto a grin* That must hurt. Your ego must be crying like a wounded fawn now. *chuckles then pats the spot next to her*
Sephiroth: *”Is that so? I can’t really disagree with you because it is an observed opinion, but I can’t really find myself disagreeing with you either.”* *smirks smugly* *”There’s very little I can do about it if that’s what you have to say.”*
Kalysto: Go to hell. *stays put*
Desiree: *blinks, not understanding what she’s done now. She then sighs and shrugs, making herself comfortable where she is*
Jenna: *broadly smirks* ~Yes, there’s very little you can do about me finding you attractive. Other than capitalizing on it for all its worth.~ *she glances over at Iris then begins softly singing lullabies to the girl in an attempt to get her to fall asleep*
Iris: *has absolutely no intentions of going to sleep right now. She wiggles about and playfully bats at Jenna’s arm, grinning to herself as she waves her own hands in front of her face shortly after. She then stuffs part of her left hand in her mouth and begins to suck on the fingers*
Sephiroth: *”Tch. Typical.”* *continues to make his way into the mountains*
Kalysto: *silently moves to his feet and makes his way over to one of the beds in the corner, sitting down on it’s edge*
Desiree: *tilts her head to watch Kalysto through her bangs. She then releases a soft sigh, deciding to leave him be for now unless he indicates that he wants her attention*
Jenna: *stops after a few moments and frowns down at Iris* How can you be so easily entertained? *shaking her head, she sets the girl down on the ground next to her* ~Seph… What’s taking you so long?~
Sephiroth: *”Nothing is taking me so long. I am just curious and looking around. You can relax though, because I am never terribly far away. Do you actually need me to be there? Is there any actual problem?”* *wanders down the path off into the distance, heading for the reactor*
Jenna: *deeply frowns* ~No, I do not need you here. However, I do prefer to have you here at my side. You are my mate after all. I should think that such thoughts would be forefront in your mind as well.~ *She then glances up at Kalysto* ~Boy, if you are looking for signs to see if she’s ready to be had, they’re all over her face. Take her before she starts pining after Seph again.~
Kalysto: *”What do you mean she’s ready to be had? No offense lady, but I’m not screwing her with you and a baby present. I may be sadistic, but I at least keep some degree of decency about myself!”
Sephiroth: *”Most of the time, yes. However, I do believe I am allowed my sense of independence also. Right now I am heading off to the reactor. I wish to have some time to reflect on the situation ahead. If I am going to join the Shinra, I wish to think and consider everything that has happened.”*
