Zach: *quickly grabs Xelong up and holds him in his arms in an attempt to calm him* Shh. *glares hard at Kalysto* Leave him alone! He was just eating!
Kalysto: *barely reacts as Jenna presses her snout up against him. He simply flicks his ears back and glares back at Jenna defiantly* If I’m cooking in here, it’s mine. Until I’m not cooking in here any more. *moves a hand up to push her snout away, flattening his eyebrows* Do not do that again.
Jenna: *moves back away from him as he pushes her snout away, not at all liking much the feel of her snout being pushed. She then shakes her head* Hmph, then simple solution. I’ll give you your own kitchen for future use. However, for now, I am eating. So, live with it.
Xelong: *clutches onto Zach as he picks him up. At first, he is shaking a bit since he was worked up. However, he soon calms down and becomes placid*
Kalysto: Yeah, yeah, I’ll live with it. Fine. That suggestion is perfectly acceptable to me. *picks up a plate and prepares his own serving of food before leaving the kitchen to go eat somewhere else*
Zach: *scratches Xelong under his chin* I really don’t like that guy. *moves off the chair and sets Xelong down on the ground again, crouching down beside him* Go on, go back to eating.
Jenna: *tilts her head toward Zach. She then gives him a smirk* Oh, I think that you probably should get used to tolerating him. By the looks of it, your sister and him have quite the relationship in bloom. *she flicks the end of her tail as Kalysto leaves the kitchen. Soon after, she returns to her kill and resumes tearing and swallowing down the flesh*
Xelong: *chirps at Zach, but cranes his neck to look at the door, as if searching for fireballs. As he does this, he lifts himself up to stand on his hind legs. After a few moments of this, he timidly returns to the carcass to that he can resume mimicing Jenna’s motions*
Zach: Desiree likes him…? I dunno why. He’s… ugh. *pulls at one of the ribs once it is sufficiently expose, then snaps part of it off, glancing it over before looking up at Jenna* How are you going to store this thing? I want to cut bits off it… these are particularly good for baby dragons who need to chew and shed teeth.
Jenna: Yes, she likes him. In fact, I’d say that she more than likes him. *she nods* Quite good, actually. Her infatuation with Seph was quite troubling… *She shakes her head then pulls off a bit more meat to devour* Hmm…? *She glances at Zach* ~I normally just toss them out in the open for scavengers to finish off.~
Desiree: *is still happily eating away at the meal that Kalysto had made* So much better than what Father can cook.
Zach: *”Ah… I want to turn some of this into something to encourage Xelong to chew. He’s going to start cutting lots of teeth and grow them out soon. He’s going to be doing a lot of chewing and unless he has an outlet, he’s going to chew half of the base furniture apart. Plus, giving him bone will keep him fed. He’ll need the calcium content for scales and bone growth…”*
Jenna: *softly chuckles* ~You may have the kill when I am finished, Zach. Do with it as you please. If you want to make chew toys for the welp, you may.~ *she swallows another slab of flesh then stands up* Quite filling..
Zach: *”He’s not a whelp…”* *looks unhappy* *”He’s a baby dragon of noble blood.”* *smirks* *”Wouldn’t you agree?”* *pokes at the carcass, pondering* Do you know how to make… dinosaur… jerky… *goes quiet, then shakes his head* Um…
Jenna: *shakes her head as she shifts back to her natural form* Zach… That dragon came from the combination of Sephiroth and myself in unnatural ways. Neither of the two of us are noble in any way. *she shakes her head* Hrmph, I don’t even know my own heritage. *she then deeply frowns* What is jerky?
Zach: Just tell everyone that you’re of noble blood and be done with it. *smirks* That’s what I do when I’m around the dumb humans. They’re like, oh, you look like Sephiroth, and if I grew out my hair I could probably immitate him too. **glances down at Xelong* Jerky is… um. You cure meat and dry it out. Then you chew on it. Perfect for baby dragon teeth.
Jenna: *tilts her head* You are not around humans all that much at all. Anyway, you would do a rather poor job of imitating Seph. Your physique gives you away. *she shakes her head* Hmm.. As for this jerky thing… Ask your father. It sounds like something that he probably had to deal with in the army.
Zach: No way, mom. Beef jerky is considered a delicacy by some. It’s really nice and a great snack food. It’s hardly something you would get in an army ration – they get shit food, not the good stuff. *takes a seat at the table again, relaxed*
Kalysto: *takes his half-eaten plate into the dual-combined room and sits down on the edge of his bed, sighing in thought*
Jenna: Hrmph.. if you say so. However, I do not know if I believe that the army would have not had it at all.. *shaking her head, she decides to contact her mate* ~Seph, do you know how to make some sort of item named “jerky”?~
Desiree: *has finished off her food and set the plate to a table at the side of her bed. When Kalysto enters the room, she offers him a small grin. However, her grin falters as she notices his mood. Still, she leaves him be, not wanting to disturb him*
Sephiroth: *”What? You can make it if you honestly want to but it’s easier to just buy at the store. Why would you ask such a question? I didn’t think you cared about human food in the slightest.”*
Zach: Probably not, because unlike the army rations, it’s actually a good food.
Jenna: ~I don’t care about such foods. However, Zach is another matter. He’s asking me how to turn this kill into jerky so that he can feed it to his dragon. Can you just come here and show him how it’s done? I don’t have a damn clue how you humans make food.~ *she sighs at Zach* Have you ever eaten army rations?
Desiree: *continues to watch Kalysto for a few moments. After a bit, she glances at his hair before reaching over to gently brush a stray strand of hair back into place*
Sephiroth: *”What? I can’t show you how it’s done because I’ve never made it myself, and I do not know how to. Anyway, why bother? If you really want to eat some, buy it from the store. It’s not that hard to purchase.”* *scowls* *”The clone would make himself sick if he made something like that without knowing how beforehand.”*
Zach: No I’ve not, but I know they’re horrible enough.
Kalysto: *stabs a fork into a piece of gravy-soaked chicken and looks up at her curiously* Hm?
Jenna: Heh.. Well, yes, I’ve heard that part too.. *She glances over the dinosaur’s remains then shrugs* Well, Seph said he doesn’t know how to make this jerky thing anyway. So, I guess all this doesn’t matter. *with that, she moves to leave* Best of luck, Zach.
Desiree: *blinks and looks up at him in an innocent manner. She then shrugs* It’s nothing. You just had a stray strand.
Zach: What do you want me to do with it, then? Leave it in the middle of the floor? *glances down at Xelong, waiting for him to finish* You’re so going to need a bath after that. You’re not going back on my bed covered in blood.
Kalysto: So leave it. If I don’t know, it’s not bothering me.
Jenna: *pauses at the doorway and glances back toward Zach* Hmmm? *she looks over the corpse* Well, you asked to have it. You may do as you wish with it, Zach. I’m certain that if anything, this Jerky thing will be stored in Centra’s database. So, you can ask her how to prepare that thing for your tastes.
Desiree: Hrmph… Well, I fixed it anyway. *she shakes her head then scoots away from him* You’re welcome.
Zach: Wait… who said I was going to eat it? I was going to make it for him… *points to Xelong, then looks back to Jenna* I have no need for eating that. *glances down at Xelong and waits for him to finish* *”Tell me when you’re done.”*
Kalysto: Yeah, you did. *stabs his fork in another piece of chicken before dabbing it in mashed potato before munching on it again. He continues to eat in silence for another few moments, and then sets his plate off to one side, seeming pleased with himself* Could have used more spices in the chicken.
Jenna: Yes, I am aware that you want it for the dragon. Still, my statement stands. You can prepares the flesh in whatever way suits your tastes and needs. If those tastes are to make food for your dragon, then that is what they are. *she shrugs then moves out to find her mate*
Xelong: ~Not done. Not done. Not done.~ *twists his head about as he tears off another hunk of flesh*
Desiree: It was very good. Thank you for making the meal, Kalysto. I really did appreciate it. *she grins t him* You’re a very good cook.
Kalysto: Not really. I just took the time to learn how to cook. Anybody can do it if they only get some decent recipes and spend the time learning. There are better cooks than me out there that exist. *scratches the side of his head, then glances at her awkwardly before moving off the bed, turning his attention towards the door* I am going to resume setting up my alchemical supplies in the room nearby that I have found. You… *pauses* …can follow me if you wish. Just try not to throw away my more… controversial ingredients.
Zach: *crouches down beside the dragon and sits on the floor next to him. He smiles at the baby dragon’s enthusiasm with eating and leaves him be, just contient to watch him*
Desiree: *glances off to the side and mutters* If you wanted to keep it here… I wouldn’t have disturbed your items. *she shrugs then leans back against the door* Have fun with that, but I think it’s still best if I stay put and don’t disturb my wounds.
