Desiree: *Shrugs* I only treated them with respect. *she then closes up the rift before anything can get through it* So… Almost ready to open up your store? *grins at him* I’m quite curious to see how it will turn out.
Kalysto: I can sell the plants directly, and since I went back to Halcyon I discovered my other garden not only thrived, it’s overgrown out of the box now and became part of the forest floor’s ecosystem. *sits down on the edge of the wooden box of the garden, then sighs* It wouldn’t be very successful without the Alchemy potions though. I’m going to need to start brewing some for sale.
Desiree: *bites her lip and slowly nods* Would it be successful at all though? I mean.. alchemy is kinda an outdated science, right? We have pharmacies and stuff like that… Wouldn’t your stuff be a niche?
Kalysto: Potions to make you invisible? Potions to make you sleep? Who wouldn’t want that stuff? I’d sell the standard Health Potions and Mana Potions, but… there’s a much broader range of recipes than you think there is. Alchemy is a huge science. *smirks* Plus you can buy the shredded leaves and make your own tea recipes.
Desiree: Well, I hope things work out. *glances at the house* So, are we going to have this store in our house? I don’t see anyplace else for us to have that sort of thing.. *shakes her head* Though, you definitely probably want to avoid doing that strange random moving thing you do from time to time in front of customers. It’d probably scare them off.
Kalysto: Strange random moving thing I do? *narrows his eyes* Like casting spells? I’m not going to repeat the words out-loud because that’s silly, but I still require to move my hands. *flicks his ears back* No, I’m not launching the Apothecary out of the house. I’m going to rent a place near the General Store.
Desiree: No, no. You’re not casting spells when you do… whatever it is… *frowns* I don’t even know what you are doing when I see it.. *she sends him the images from her memories of spotting him dancing in the shower and stuff like that* It’s just.. strange. *she then frowns* We don’t even have the money to own that house.. Where are you going to get the money or available space in this town to rent a store? Those elves you brought over have taken over all the empty spaces in this town.
Kalysto: *blinks at her, then begins to softly laugh, shaking his head* Oh silly woman.. it’s dancing. *moves to stand up, then attempts to hold onto her, ballroom style* You don’t even know what it is? Dancing is the union of two people, who move in time to the music.
Desiree: Dancing? *blinks as he grips onto her, seeming completely confused* I’ve never heard of such a thing… *shakes her head* Not once. And isn’t the union of two people just intercourse?
Kalysto: The union of two people is a lifelong partnership that covers four aspects of living. The friend, the lover,the companion or comrade, and the mate. A lifelong union cannot thrive on intercourse alone. It doesn’t thrive without the other three aspects. *twirls her around the garden, then lets go of her* It’s much nicer and easier to understand when it’s in time to music.
Desiree: But the thing you were describi- *yelps in surprise as he twirls her about, she then winds up tripping over her feet and before falling on her butt. Staring up at him in surprise, she quickly shakes her head* What was that for?
Kalysto: *sighs and offers a hand to her* You don’t know what dancing is… do you… *shakes his head* No matter. I will teach you one day. For now… *glances around, sighing again* We can’t afford anything right now, Desiree. But if my Apothecary makes a bit of money, I can pay rent and buy out the house. It’ll work. You’ll see.
Desiree: How can I know what something is if I’ve never heard of it before? *takes his hand then gets to her feet* I’ve never once saw father move around in such a way, ever. *shakes her head then sighs* I do hope that everything works out.
Kalysto: If it doesn’t, I end up with the house being owned by somebody else again. No house, no shop, back to nothing. But I’m not worried. I started with nothing so anything is a bonus. Right? *grins* Your father doesn’t ever seem like the type to dance.
*another of the Felhunters wanders around with a slight waddle in its step just outside of the gate. It wiggles for a few moments before depositing a large amount of poop in the street before continuing to wander, looking particularly well-fed*
Desiree: Well, I guess that’s true since he never once did dance.. *she shrugs then grins at Kalysto* Yea, something is better than nothing. At least no one’s kicked us out of this house yet. *smirks* Maybe we’ll be able to keep it without paying for it.
Kalysto: Don’t count on it. The people have every right to evict you if you’re on their land or property. And they will do it too…. whether it be by force or another means. *sighs and heads for the house* Don’t worry too much about the future. What comes, is what comes.
Desiree: Yea. I’m not too worried at all. *grins and hugs onto Kalysto’s arm* Anyway, who would dare kick out a “scary warlock”? *broadly grins at him*
Jenna: *her right eye twitches as she’s kicked again. She then shakes her head and puts her book down* Seph, my last check-up thing showed no problems, right?
Sephiroth: *shakes his head and sets his book down* No. Why do you ask that? *glances back at her, lightly frowning* Is something wrong?
Kalysto: Anyone would if they knew I was freeloading. You can’t stay in a place if you’re not making an honest living. It was like that among the Darkspear Trolls too. You brought something to the tribe, like the ability to hunt, or fish. Or you were considered a non-contributing useless bum.
Desiree: Hrmph… I still say they would have to be pretty dumb to mess with us. I mean, I’m the daughter of The Great Sephiroth, and you are a warlock. *smirks*
Jenna: *lowers her eyes and thinks for a few moments before sighing* I’m not certain. I guess it’s just my imagination. I just feel little pricks or something.. *shakes her head* Don’t worry about it, Seph. I mean, if the doctors say that I’m fine, then I should be fine.
Kalysto: They won’t care. If you owe them money, you could be The Lord of the Underworld himself and they would come after you with a pitchfork demanding their loaned money.
Sephiroth: Pricks? *raises an eyebrow and looks at her stomach, scanning it over* The infant is fine. *moves back to his work, picking it up, sighing over how mundane it is* He’s just moving to get a more comfortable position. Also during this time he will invert himself upsidedown as he prepares for birth over the next few months.
Desiree: In that case, we kill those guys and claim the land anyway. Problem solved. *grins*
Jenna: *rolls her eyes* Yes, Seph. I know fully well that the fetus moves around in there. However, I haven’t felt pricks like I do with this one before… It’s just, strange. *shakes her head* It’s probably all in my head.
Kalysto: You’d have to kill the whole town. And you’d be killing my customers. *smirks at her* You’re not thinking this through very far, are you? No, the best way to earn money is to like, you know, earn it. Supply a raw material that people will come to you for. In Sen’jin Village, Arte made hand woven colourful rugs. And heck, even humans would break the territory lines to come buy them.
Sephiroth: I can’t tell you why you feel pricks. *frowns* Maybe it has claws?
Desiree: Yea, but I’m the daughter of the Great Sephiroth. Seriously, who would want to mess with my family? Last time my father got angry at humans on this planet, he tried to send a meteor down on their heads. Shouldn’t that be incentive for them not to mess with me?
Jenna: *blinks and stares at Sephiroth* That… That sounds completely ridiculous. *shakes her head* Why would it have claws?
Kalysto: I understand everything you’re saying, but do you honestly think that will stop the debt collectors? I’m on another planet now, and if I had debt collectors after me, believe me, they’d STILL find me…
Sephiroth: Because maybe some of the other ones do? Dimitri has wings. Iris has horns. Fill in the blanks.
Desiree: *chuckles* That sounds so silly. I really doubt that anyone from your old planet would find you. I mean… aside from your brother and the blue guy, no one’s showed up yet. *shakes her head* Anyway, I’m not against you setting up a shop.. Though I still think that we might as well set it up in our house for now.. We don’t have the money to rent a store.
Jenna: Iris’s horns weren’t really that pronounced, they still aren’t that obvious, in my opinion. *sighs* But yea, I see your point. *shakes her head* It’s still rather annoying.
