Kalysto: *seems dissapointed at Jenna’s assessment of his speech. He flattens his ears and shrugs it off, lowering his arm again* She hasn’t taught me a thing about Earth. All I know is that it’s full of humans, and big.
Jenna: Hmm.. I suppose that wil have to do. *she stops in front of the master portal. She then begins calibrating it so that it would take her to the outskirts of the russian town where she is being sent to* For the record, I imagine this place is going to be cold.
Kalysto: Why is it going to be cold? *watches her go about setting the portal, then tilts his head to observe, mentally taking notes* Is there bad weather there today or something? Or is it winter time? Or just very northern?
Jenna: Knowing my luck, all three. *the portal finally opens up* However, yes, the place we are going is rather North, so it will be cold by nature. It is around the winter season, so it will be even more cold. As for the weather, we will find out. *with that, she steps through the portal*
Kalysto: *makes sure his ears are properly tucked in, then steps through the portal also. He is immediately hit by the stinging cold and begins to shiver, pulling his robe’s collar closed properly around himself* You weren’t kidding…
Jenna: *grunts as she lands in a pile of snow. After a moment, she slowly pushes herself upright and forces herself to regain her composure, even though she’s shivering* Come on, let’s go. *with that, she heads toward the lights of the town*
Kalysto: *glances skyward* The sun is going to set soon… *follows Jenna towards the town, feeling quite glad he’s wearing a thick robe and gloves* How quickly do you plan to dispatch your target? *moves to walk beside her, glancing her over*
Jenna: Idealy, one hour. *Smirks* However, realistically, I’d have to say three days would be needed. *she glances around the town before heading toward the local bar* One must always start with the basics.
Kalysto: Basics? You mean get absolutely hammered and fall on the floor? *smirks* Sounds like something I’d do for fun. I’m totally in for that. *follows her, wanting to get out of the cold* Maybe you can fill me in on something….. *pauses* If you’d like to chat once we’re inside that is.
Jenna: No, I was not talking about getting drunk. As much as I can hold my liquor, Seph would have my head if I were to drink while pregnant. Heh, he would have my head anyway for being here in the first place. *shakes her head* No, I meant the basics. People gossip and open up when drunk. Hence, I can scope out the situation. *she then looks at him* Very well, if you want to speak to me, you may. Just don’t get in my way. *with that, she moves into the bar*
Kalysto: How are you going to speak to these humans? They write in the weirdest runes I’ve ever seen. *glances up at the bar’s business name and walks in after Jenna. He lowers his head slightly and pulls his hood down over his eyes, wandering off to one side to take a seat*
Jenna: Runes? *chuckles and sits down at the bar. She then looks over Kalysto for a moment before waving the bartender over. She then speaks in fluent Russian and orders a Vodka-based drink for Kalysto while she herself simply has water. Then, she begins to listen to the various conversations in the bar*
Kalysto: *mumbles* Yep. Can’t understand them. They’re speaking the weirdest language I’ve ever heard. It’s not common-speak. It sounds like some kind of offshoot of Eredarian, but its not. Humans don’t know that crap….
Jenna: *glances at Kalysto* It’s Russian. *She then nods as his drink is set down before them* Go ahead, drink up. This man doesn’t speak any English, which seems to be the language that you manage to speak in most cases. *She shrugs* So, just have me do any talking for ordering any more drinks.
Kalysto: Yeah. I think I’ll do that. Once I stop being able to form words, I think you’ll know I’ve reached my limit. *experimentally sips the vodka, then recoils at the taste* Holy fucking shit. *begins to drink it anyway*
Jenna: *chuckles at Kalysto’s reaction* I think they have even stronger drinks. *she shrugs and returns to listen to the conversations going around. She then grins to herself as she realizes that the son of the forum for the tunneling project is currently in the bar*
Kalysto: *coughs slightly* Well at least this shit has its desired effect. I certainly feel warmer already than I did. *watches her, yawning slightly* You studied their language, I take it? Must be interesting to know what theyre saying. Unless its like every other bar…
Jenna: *Glances at him* ~Yes, I’ve studied many languages. You can call me a linguist if you wish. Now, be careful what you say out loud. Some may actually understand English.~ *she eyes off the man who she’s found to be the Forum’s son as she begins to formulate a plan*
Kalysto: Fine… fine. *flicks his ears back as far as they will go. Then he lowers his head, not wanting to have his ears discovered in the process* *”I’ll be more careful next time. Find out what you can so you can get it done.”* *grins* *”I get to kill somebody….”*
Jenna: ~I’ve killed hundreds of thousands. It’s not really all that exciting.~ *she continues to eye off the male as she thinks* ~You said you wanted to talk to me about something. However, you have yet to actually mention what that something was.~
Kalysto: *”Yeah? Well you also told me to be careful what I say out loud, because people here may actually understand common-speak. Let me be the first to let you know that this is a bar – while full of heresay, I’m not just about to talk about things in a place like this…”* *puts his head down on the table* *”…not a good place or time.”*
Jenna: ~You can speak freely without anyone picking up anything via this form of communication. Hence, why I asked for you to go ahead and speak. However, if you truly do not want to, then that is fine.~ *she glances over at him, examining his body language. However, she doesn’t mention anything*
Kalysto: *”Just go do your thing. I don’t feel very comfortable talking in a weird place like this.”* *chuckles lightly, then raises his head to drink the rest of his glass. He puts his head back down and a slow smile spreads over his face*
Jenna: *drums her fingers against the counter as she watches Kalysto* ~Be careful with that drink. It does not look like you are very tollerant to it.~ *she then gets up and walks over to the forman’s son. Soon she begins to drum up a seemingly innocent conversation, asking him for sights to see in the city. However, as she does this, she begins to weave a manipulation spell over him*
Kalysto: *shrugs* *”Hey I know my limit… I’m not about to go overboard here.”* *softly chuckles at her words* *”Don’t be ridiculous.”* *tilts his head and watches her, smirking in amusement. When he’s not doing that, he begins watching the women walking around the place, and even attempts to smack one on the rear when she walks past him*
