Desiree: *lets go of Kalysto as he stumbles away from her. However, she soon has her hands full of both staff and baby elf-dragon. Sighing, she nods and moves into the house* I hope my father didn’t come in and try to finish off your concoction for you…
Kalysto: *walks over to the oven and opens the door, checking on the chicken. He glances at the timer, picking up some oven mitts so he can set the cooking pot on a bench* Somebody turned the timer off and nearly burned it, but… *opens the lid* Hrmm. *frowns* It looks slightly overdone.
Desiree: *grumbles under her breath as she struggles to stay balanced while holding Milena. Soon enough, she enters the kitchen then sets the girl down on the floor* There… *She then glances up at Kalysto and his chicken* Damn it… Well, I’m certain it would have been great.
Kalysto: Oh you can still eat it. It’s just that… *pokes the chicken legs* It’s kinda dry in parts. *sets it out on the table anyway* Maybe the dragon wants some? *pulls off a wing and tosses it on the floor to her*
Milena: *picks up the chicken wing and immediately begins to chew through it, bone and all*
Kalysto: *flinches slightly at the sound of cracking bone* Wow, that’s fucked up…
Desiree: Hm? *She shrugs* I guess. I’m kinda used to that sort of thing. Mother would eat just as much when she’s in her more draconic form. *she then moves closer to the chicken and pokes at it* Hmm… Yea, I suppose. But it still isn’t as good as it should be.
Kalysto: *picks up a plate and carves some chicken off anyway, arranging it on a plate along with vegetables. He sets one aside for Desiree before doing another for himself, sitting down to eat it* No, it’s not… I probably should not have gone off like I did, but I didn’t think it would take very long.
Desiree: *shakes her head* Do not worry about it at all, Kalyto. *She pokes at her chicken for a bit. She then grabs a fork and begins to dig in* Well, it still tastes rather good. *She nods in approval. She then glances at the staff before trying to hand it to Kalysto* Here.
Kalysto: *takes the staff from Desiree, looking it over for a few moments before muttering* Yuck… there’s something about it I don’t like. It’s just… *narrows his eyes* This was stolen from somebody who heals others. *flicks the staff onto the floor, letting it loudly clatter*
Milena: *finishes eating her chicken wing and squeaks, wanting more*
Desiree: *Blinks in confusion* Why would you give me something like that? *she shakes her head* That makes no sense whatsoever… *Sighs and continues to eat. However, she eyes the staff as she eats*
Kalysto: It beats the hell out of me. *pauses, considering what he just said* Yes, it certainly did that… *rubs his head again, groaning* I don’t know why you summoned the future version of me, but it’s all very confusing… I don’t understand at all. It leaves more questions.
Milena: *makes a loud annoying screech now, trying to climb the chair, smelling food up there on the table*
Desiree: *Shakes her head* I summoned him because… well, you’re stubborn. And I was thinking if anyone knew how to get something through your head, it would be you. I just… didn’t think you’d actually whack yourself in the head to do it. *sighs* But yea, it leaves a lot of questions. He said something about me dying.. *Shrugs*
Kalysto: *looks up at her, nearly choking on his mouthful of food. He coughs lightly, then chews a few more times before quickly swallowing* …what? He… I told you that you were going to die? Wow. Isn’t that breaking some law? *looks a little bothered*
Desiree: *Shrugs* Well, it was well implied. I’m not certain what it really meant. *She sends Kalysto a telepathic impression of her memories considering his future self* Anyway, considering all the taboo stuff both you and my mother do… I think laws really don’t mean much of anything.
Kalysto: Heh… I do ‘taboo’ stuff because it pisses other people off. I mean.. WHY is it forbidden, exactly? *shrugs* There’s a purpose for the Warlock, even if people hate them. It is a useful piece in the chessboard, even if people are scared of what it does. *shrugs* So I go on doing what I do, because I can. Not because people tell me to, or because they tell me no.
Milena: *screeches angrily, frustrated that her other noises did nothing. She falls off the chair and whimpers, then begins trying to climb it again*
Desiree: *slowly nods her head* Yea, I understand why you do taboo things. I understand fully. *frowns* Sadly, I don’t think the reasons my mother does those things has been as benign. *she then frowns at the noises from Milena* Perhaps you should help her up?
Kalysto: *rolls his eyes and moves over to her, picking her up to set her on the table* There. Now shut up. *moves to sit back down in his chair, but not for long. Milena is very quick to move over to the chicken, and then begins to hungrily tear chunks out of it with her teeth. Kalysto quickly grabs her up and scowls* We need a high chair for her or something. Just great. *growls at her* Didn’t the troll teach you anything?
Milena: *pins her ears back and screeches at him*
Desiree: *frowns in thought* I think my parents have gotten a high chair by now. *She gets to her feet. She then walks over to a nearby closet. Soon enough, she spots a high chair. So, she drags it over to the table then reaches over to pick up Milena so that she can set the girl in the chair* That should do it.
Milena: *looks over at the chicken as she’s carried to the chair. She makes loud upset sounds, then begins to screech when placed in the chair, pawing in the direction of the chicken*
Kalysto: Why did I consent to this…? *sighs miserably and pulls a large bitten hunk off the chicken before dropping it onto a plate, putting it down in front of the girl*
Desiree: *Shrugs* Well, I can’t answer that one for you. *She nods at the girl* She’s just hungry. She should settle down once she has a full stomach. *she then sits down to finish off her plate* Heh, you live in a house with a ton of small kids. One would think you’ve gotten used to this sort of stuff.
Kalysto: I usually just drown it out… or ignore it. It’s not too hard to ignore, when it’s not directed at me. *watches Milena practically inhale the chicken, sighing* She’s going to ask for the whole fucking thing, isn’t she?
Desiree: Heh, and I thought that sort of skill was beyond you. *winks at Kalysto. She then frowns at Milena* Perhaps. You should probably tell her no… Unless she really needs the nutrition. Hrm… How much food should she eat?
Kalysto: To be honest, I don’t even know. *raises a hand* One second. *telepathically contacts Zulmire, talking with him a few minutes. After he is done, he seems very unhappy* He says she’ll keep eating and eating and eating until she’s full. So I guess… *picks up more chicken to feed to her*
Desiree: Hmm… *she gets up and moves to the pantry. She then digs through the food in there until she comes to a container of beef jerky. Sighing, she moves over to Kalysto and hands the container to him* You probably disapprove. Hell, I know how long it took you to approve of the fact that there was no “elf” food here, but this might fill her up.
Kalysto: Elf food? No I whined about blandness. *frowns at the container of beef jerky* Are you kidding? This is disgusting. It’s dry and salted. And… *takes one out to give to the girl, who immediately snatches it and begins chewing, having a hard time of it* At the least, it keeps her occupied…
