Jenna sighed as she looked at Sephiroth. Shaking her head, she handed the papers over to him.
“Settle down. It doesn’t matter which of us one that match. You did fine, Seph.”
Sephiroth made a stuffy irritated sound as Jenna told him to settle down. He wasn’t impressed with this instruction but wasn’t about to start drama over it. He nodded at her and shrugged, scowling.
“It just wasn’t much of demonstration.” He snorted. “But it doesn’t matter. I will sign this rubbish and continue working.”
“You used a fair number of your materia things, Seph. So, I don’t see where you feel that it wasn’t that much of a demonstration,” Jenna attempted to soothe. “Just because you didn’t win didn’t mean that you did not show expertise in your field.”
Sephiroth grumbled at Jenna, continued in his huffiness. He knew that he was just being silly by now, but he was not entirely sure how to back out of what he had gotten himself into.
“When do you need these papers?” He said, glancing down at them, figuring the best way was to change the subject entirely.
Jenna frowned as she continued to watch Sephiroth’s mannerisms. So, she set the papers down on Sephiroth’s desk before she circled around him. Soon enough, she set her hands down on the back of his neck and began to massage him.
“Will you settle down? Hrmph, you already got your wish last night by not looking anywhere close to being old.”
Sephiroth sat down in his seat with the papers and began to sign them, scowling as he mulled over the documentation. “You’re right…” He sighed. “I did get my wish, afterall…” He looked back at Jenna with a hopeless expression, then finished signing the documentation, giving them all his official stamp before handing them back to her.
“It is done.”
Jenna nodded at Sephiroth as he handed the papers back over to her. Before leaning, she leaned in to kiss him before she nuzzled her nose against his cheek.
“You could have always blasted me with that Supernova thing that you do anyway,” she whispered into his ear before she reached out to take the papers.
Soon after, she moved back over to her desk so that she could finish off her work for the day.
“Supernova? If I wanted to blow up the entire stadium, and half the town, I suppose…” He frowned at her. “Also very easy to see that coming…” He watched her leave the room and he resumed his work, feeling quite bored.
Meanwhile, Cancer held the freshly made keys for the new maid, and looked around the house, trying to find her.
Alexander looked up from his television show as he watched his sister pace by. After flicking his tail, he pushed himself up to his feet and began to follow after his sister, curious as to what she was doing.
Meanwhile, the housekeeper arrived at the residence and knocked to make her presence know.
Cancer raised her head, narrowing her eyes. That was obviously the woman she had been searching for, as she couldn’t sense anybody else around in the house. She headed to the front door and opened it.
“Hello,” She said quickly, already not being able to think of much else to say. “Keys.” She handed them to the woman.
The woman nodded as she was given the key. After giving Cancer a grateful grin, she moved to the kitchen so that she could get to work. The first thing she did was begin lunch for the household.
Meanwhile, Alexander continued to follow Cancer. When he saw her give the strange new woman a key, he tilted his head before he piped up, “Sista? Whatcha doing?”
Cancer glanced down at Alex, pointing to the woman as she watched her go to work. “I’m… giving her keys? She er, she lives here now… I think… something like that.” She shook her head. “Why don’t you go over there and talk to her?”
She moved to the kitchen doorway, eyeing off the woman, silent.
Alexander whined before he shook his head. He then followed after Cancer, though he mumbled out, “I don’t want to talk to her. She smells strange.”
As Cancer moved into the doorway, Alexander moved to hug onto his sister’s side.
Cancer looked down at the boy, then patted him on the head. “Relax… she’s not going to do anything to you.” She eyed off the woman again, watching her work. “So what exactly ARE you employed to do, miss?” She wondered. “Do you fix things?”
Kalanehi looked up at Cancer, pausing in slicing the meat that she was preparing for sandwiches. Soon after, she gave the young woman a small smile before she shook her head, “No, I don’t really fix things. I can fix small problems, but major ones need specialists.”
“I cook, clean, tidy up, and make certain that the household is in good shape,” she continued on. “That includes making certain you young ones are behaving.”
Meanwhile, Alexander gave Caner a smile as his sister pat his head. He loved receiving affection.
Cancer raised an eyebrow. “So you can’t fix the plumbing? Huh… OK.” She reached down to pick up Alexander, carrying him into the room. “So you… hmm. If Alex makes a huge mess on the rug, you gotta clean it?”
Kalanehi hummed at Cancer’s words. She had not been informed of any outstanding issues with the house. Still, she figured that she should check out the issue. So, she made a note to look into it after serving lunch.
Meanwhile, Alexander hugged onto Cancer as he was carried away. However, he soon looked up at her, “I wouldn’t make a mess on the carpet.. I’m not a dog.”
Cancer eyed off Alexander before setting him down on one of the chairs in the kitchen. “No, but I’ve seen you overturn the the whole toy-box before looking for things. That was a while ago now, though… I’ve still seen you do it!”
She poked him in the nose to emphasise her point. “Yeah, the toilet at the end of the hall. It doesn’t flush properly. You have to really hold the handle down and hope for the best.”
Alexander pouted as Cancer pointed out that he’s spilled toys over the floor before. So, he crossed his arms before he curled up his clawed toes.
“Yea… well.. You have a mess in your room. Lots an’ lots of cables!” the boy retorted.
Cancer chuckled at Alexander. “Oh be quiet.” She grinned at him, then took a seat next to him. “You’re making lunch, huh? Does this mean I don’t have to make my own?” A smirk came over her face as she pondered areas she could be lazy in from now on.
“Can you teach me how to drive a car? Or is that not in your contract?”
Kalanehi finished up making several sandwhiches before she set them down on the table. As she set down the food, she gave Cancer a small smile before she nodded.
“Yes, I’ll be cooking for this family now. No need for you to worry about making your own food, unless you want to,” the woman confirmed.
As cancer asked about driving, the housekeeper shook her head, “I’m sorry, dear. However, I don’t have a license. I don’t know how to drive.”
Cancer looked dissapointed. Not for long though, as she plucked up one of the sandwiches to munch on, grabbing another to give to Alexander. “This is pretty good…” She mumbled through chewing and food in her mouth. “So what sort of things can you make…?”
“I’ve made nearly ever dish aside from those like pigeon and the other rare foods like that. So, you won’t be starvin, dear,” Kalanehi explained. “Now, go ahead and eat. Tell your siblings too. I’m going to check out that toilet.”
With those words said, the woman walked off to the bathroom.
“Pigeon…” Cancer stared ahead of herself, subtly peeking down at the meat in her sandwich. “Isn’t that like, a rat with wings? Why would you eat that?” She watched the strange woman leave the room, nudging Alexander.
“So do you like it? I hope she’s not going to make us eat rats and pigeons.”
Kalanehi chuckled at Cancer’s concerns before she called out, “Yea, some rich folks in some places think that pigeon is a specialty. I never had to cook for them though. So, don’t worry.”
Meanwhile, Alexander just continued to happily eat. He then looked around before he flicked his tail. ~Iris, no going to eat lunch?~
