The video round-up.

I’ve been recording quite a bit of my adventures on P3rd HD these past few days. So, for your viewing pleasure, I am about to present all the videos that I have put up on the subject.

I never had any intentions of teaching anyone anything about Monster Hunter when making these videos, so don’t expect to be enlightened. Nor am I some great hunter of prestige, so no impressed either. Just look for entertainment, my dears.

It is honestly quite amazing….

I’ve been a part of Capcom-Unity for about two years now. Nearly the entire time, I’ve had my steam account mentioned in my signature. Yet, only recently have some of the people who I actively speak to actually noticed that I have Steam. I received many “wow, Seferia, you have Steam?”s when I joined the WOM group on Steam.

I’ve even previously mentioned jumping on a sale of Skyrim on Steam this past winter…. People are just honestly strange.

Anyway, I spent most of my night last night messing with Adobe Premiere. I had somewhat messed with the program in the past. After all, I went to college with a Flim/Video/Animation degree in mind, though I didn’t follow through… But that’s beside the point. Anyway, I had forgotten most of how to use the program, though most of it is quite self-explanatory. Overall, I had the largest problem figuring out how to encode my project into a format for YouTube.

Well, I think I finally figured it out this morning. So, hopefully that very simple edit job will be up and available on YouTube tonight.

Woot! New add-on for my blog works! Now to needlessly ramble.

Not that anyone really reads this. However, I feel like using it, so I shall use it since I feel like it.

Anyway, this past weekend, Steam had a great sale on Dues Ex. The Dues Ex collection was selling for 14.99. That’s a whole lot of gaming and fun for little price. So, I decided to go ahead and jump on it after about a day of thinking.

So far, I haven’t regretted the choice at all. I started off with Dues Ex: Human Revolution, since that was the game that I had been eying off for some time. While I’ve been dying a lot, most of my deaths can be blamed solely on me being careless and not on any silly game quirk that would frustrate me. I’m also having fun just running around all over the place and hacking everything. I can’t wait to unlock more augments and mess with them.

Also, this weekend, I attempted to go back to another game that I had bought a few months back, Divinity II. Yea… That game is all sorts of frustrating. I should make videos of me yelling in frustration at it, since there have been plenty of moments of that… Heck, the game consistently glitched on me about 10 straight times as I attempted to restart the game because it wouldn’t load a guy’s dialogue. There’s just something not right with that game.

Notes from the stream last night

Well, I survived and didn’t faint or anything while doing my first ever live stream. I know my voice sucks and I’m not the greatest personality, but I think I did ok… minus the hour in which my voice wasn’t broadcasting due to an attempt to fix one technical glitch which caused another.

I am aware that there were lag issues throughout the stream, so I’m doing further research into my set-up in order to help improve on the recording. With luck, it’ll all sort out soon enough.

Also, I believe I said that I would stream every-other week. Well, I realized that in two weeks is EVO, so I may not be around to stream during that time. I’ll try to do a make-up stream on the 4th of July or something. I’ll figure it out.

To anyone reading this who watched the stream last night, thanks and sorry for the glitches. My first go through and I’m working out the bugs.

Reveal #2 as to the revival of the blog

Hope that you enjoyed the music. Now, to reveal I stated that the blog will actually be revived. This week, I decided to finally take the plunge and enter the world of video capture cards. So, I went and bought this little beauty, the Hauppauge HD-PVR Gaming Edition.

So far, I’m only in the testing phase, however, there are streams planned for the future. Until then, enjoy these views of tests that I’ve done.

The revival of the blog.

It has been quite some time since I have utilized this blog, no? Well, a movement is coming, and that movement will likely have me blogging much more than before. That movement will be revealed in a bit. However, first, some music.

Enjoy the sounds of Video Games Live, a concert I attended while I was at E3.

Dance Central

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my blog.  I really should get around to daily posts or something, not that I really have much of a reader base…

Anyway, I have officially broken down and bought a Kinect, mostly because I made a small gamble with myself.  Basically, I was shopping on Black Friday for a simple transfer cable to so I can get my data over to my new 250 gb harddrive for my xbox (gifted to me).  While at Best Buy, one of the clerks said that Kinects should have been in stock at one of the other local stores.  So, I was like “well, it’s normally out of stock.  So, if it is actually there, I will consider it fate and buy it.”  In all honesty, I expected it to be out of stock, but there were indeed multiple Kinects at that store.  So, I went ahead and splurged.  At that time, I only bought Kinectimals, which I shall talk about in some other post.

However, I also bought Dance Central via Amazon, and that game just came in today.  So far, I feel like the game is the real deal.  It is exactly what I had hoped to find when I went into DDR several years ago.  At that time, I didn’t want to buy an expensive mat, so DDR was never fully fun for me.  To say the least, I had issues with the mat slipping out from under my feet and not registering my moves.  However, that is not the case with Dance Central.

With Dance Central, I am feeling a full body motion experience for starts, not just my legs.  Also, I know that my mess-ups on my scores are all me now, and not hardware mis-haps.  This makes me much more content with my scores than I ever was with DDR.  I also must admit that Dance Central has definitely gotten me sweating.  So far, I can’t do much more than 3-4 songs without taking a break.  However, I think I’m going to make it a program to do 20-30 minutes of this game a day to exercise.  It simply feels that effective.

Now, I do wish there was a larger song selection and that the songs came in more affordable packs.  So far, they are 240 points per song, which is a bit of a hit to my wallet.  Still, I broke down and bought one of the DLC songs because it is so nostalgic (Whoop! There it is).

Anyway, Kinect definitely feels like fun tech that produces more exercise experiences than the Wii.  So, in that way, Microsoft succeeded.

The pangs of gaming.

Seriously.

Due to space concerns in my room where I game, I usually game from my bed.  I also use my computer from my bed.  I’ve been doing this for years.  However, there’s a large draw-back to this set-up, I have no back-support.  So, I tend to be in serious pain if I have to sit at my computer or for my games for long periods of time.  Wireless gaming can solve this, since I can lay down.  However, not all circumstances permit this.  And lounging on my side to my computer keyboard has seemed to pull muscles as well.

So, I am now at the point in which I must think of back support.  I don’t think I can continue to stand playing games without any form of back support.  However, previous attempts, such as husband pillows, have faltered due to sliding out from behind me.

Enter my candidates for new choices on my gaming set-up:

ZEEK Gaming Chair w Black Canvas Folding Frame

The Zeek Gaming Chair – for the price, it seems like a sturdy choice.  However, I do not know about reliability or comfort.

Denim

The Foof Wedge Chair – More expensive, by far.  However, I have a Foof Chair and I love it.  They are very reliable pieces of furniture as well as very comfortable.  However, I do not know if it will supply reliable back support.

Well, those are my thoughts for now.  I’ll probably get the cheaper one for now.
